Itinerary
Cais do Sodré is a riverside district famous for its nightlife and restaurants. The 19th-century Ribeira Market has a food court that is the hub of activity, with eclectic food stalls offering international dishes and local specialties. Pink Street is home to bars and restaurants where you can listen to fado. Ribeira das Naus promenade, on the banks of the Tagus River, is popular when the weather warms up.
Chiado is a historic and fashionable neighborhood in the center of Lisbon, Portugal, known for its vibrant cultural scene, elegant architecture, and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Situated between the neighborhoods of Baixa and Bairro Alto, Chiado has long been a hub for artists, intellectuals, and creatives. The area is famous for its beautiful squares, traditional cafés, art galleries, theaters, and luxury shops. Landmark sites include the historic Café A Brasileira, the famous Livraria Bertrand (the world's oldest operating bookstore), and the São Carlos Theater. Chiado blends Lisbon's rich cultural heritage with modern sophistication, offering a dynamic mix of old and new, where historic buildings coexist with contemporary design. It's also a popular spot for both locals and tourists, providing a lively yet refined setting for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
Bairro Alto is a historic and lively neighborhood in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal, renowned for its vibrant nightlife, bohemian atmosphere, and rich cultural heritage. Perched on one of Lisbon’s seven hills, Bairro Alto is a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets filled with an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary establishments, including bars, restaurants, and boutique shops. It is particularly famous for its thriving nightlife scene, attracting both locals and tourists with its abundance of Fado music venues, trendy bars, and late-night cafes. Despite its lively reputation, Bairro Alto has a long history that dates back to the 16th century, and its charming buildings, with colorful facades and wrought-iron balconies, reflect the neighborhood’s character. By day, Bairro Alto offers a more relaxed atmosphere, with antique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafes, but as evening falls, the area transforms into one of Lisbon’s most animated spots.
Baixa is the downtown district of Lisbon, Portugal, and serves as the commercial and architectural heart of the city. Known for its grand, neoclassical buildings, wide boulevards, and elegant squares, Baixa was extensively rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake, which destroyed much of the older part of the city. This reconstruction, led by the Marquis of Pombal, transformed Baixa into a well-planned grid of streets that remain one of Lisbon’s most important urban landmarks. Baixa is home to some of Lisbon’s most famous squares, such as Praça do Comércio, a majestic riverside square, and Rossio Square, a lively hub surrounded by cafés and shops. The district is also known for its beautiful Arco da Rua Augusta, a monumental arch leading to the river, and the Santa Justa Lift, an iconic wrought-iron elevator offering views of the city. Today, Baixa is a bustling, modern center with a mix of retail shops, restaurants, and offices, while still retaining a sense of its historical grandeur.
The Basilica of Saint Mary Major of Lisbon, or Sé de Lisboa, is the metropolitan cathedral and patriarchal seat of the city of Lisbon, Portugal. Its construction began in 1148, one year after Afonso Enriques conquered the city. It is considered the oldest church in Lisbon. Alfama is closely associated with Fado, the traditional Portuguese music genre, and many Fado restaurants and intimate venues can be found in the neighborhood. The area is also home to important landmarks like the São Jorge Castle, the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), and the National Pantheon. Despite being a popular tourist destination, Alfama has a strong sense of local identity and is known for its tight-knit community, traditional shops, and eateries serving authentic Portuguese cuisine.
Largo das Portas do Sol is a historic square located in the Alfama district of Lisbon. This location is known for offering one of the most iconic views of the city, with panoramic views that encompass the Tagus River, the Baixa Pombalina and the Castelo de São Jorge.
Located in the Graça neighborhood of Lisbon, Portugal, the Miradouro Nossa Senhora do Monte is one of the city's most iconic viewpoints. It offers stunning panoramic views of Lisbon and the Tagus River, combining a profound history with scenic beauty. This place is a testament to Lisbon's rich history and cultural heritage, making it a must-see for anyone exploring the city's historical sites.
Graça is a traditional and vibrant neighborhood in Lisbon, Portugal, known for its rich history, narrow cobbled streets, and breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Located on one of Lisbon’s seven hills, it offers a mix of old-world charm and modern-day appeal, with a strong sense of local community. The area is famous for its historical landmarks, such as the Graça Church and the National Pantheon, as well as its lively atmosphere, with numerous cafes, restaurants, and viewpoints (miradouros) that attract both locals and visitors. Graça is often considered a more authentic and less touristy part of Lisbon, offering a glimpse into the city’s traditional life while being well-connected to other parts of the city. The neighborhood is a blend of old and new, with residential areas, local markets, and street art contributing to its distinct character.
The Monastery of São Vicente de Fora is located on high ground at the intersection of Lisbon's historic neighborhoods of Graça and Alfama. It is called "de fora" because, in addition to being outside the city walls, the parish on which it stood was not at that time under the jurisdiction of the Lisbon bishop.
The National Pantheon of Portugal (Panteão Nacional, in Portuguese) is located in the parish of São Vicente de Fora, Lisbon, specifically in the Church of Santa Engrácia. The current building stands on the site where a church had already been erected in 1568, by order of Infanta Maria, daughter of King Manuel I, on the occasion of the creation of the parish of Santa Engrácia.
The Chafariz de El-Rei was the first public ornamental fountain in the city of Lisbon. It was built in the 13th century during the reigns of Afonso III and Denis I, taking advantage of the excellent groundwater of Alfama.
Praça do Comércio, still commonly referred to by its former name of Terreiro do Paço, is a square in downtown Lisbon located next to the Tagus River, in the area that was the site of the palace of the kings of Portugal for about two centuries and which is now partly occupied by some government departments. It is one of the largest squares in Europe, with about 36,000 m² (180 m x 200 m).[1] The square is bordered by 79 arches.

This guy was great! He was so knowledgeable and friendly! We saw such a variety of places and tasted pastel de nata
We were able to see a lot of beautiful sites of the city… That you would have a hard time walking to or driving to
This was the very first thing we did after landing in Lisbon. I usually choose a walking tour to get to know a city, but I’m so glad we did a Tuk Tuk tour instead. Lisbon is VERY hilly - lots of steep inclines. After a full day of traveling, there was no way we were going to have the energy to walk to all the neighborhoods. This was the perfect way to get an overview of the city without hiking up hills. Our guide was so nice! We did the 2 hour tour and were able to stop at a few sites to get out and walk around. It was such a lovely way to start our trip!
Fun, safe and educational! Everyone in our group enjoyed- ages 5-75! Highly recommend. A great way to see the sites!
Arthur was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining! Thank you so much for the experience and history lesson of your beautiful city! ❤️ Kendra & Henry
This was well worth it --- traffic was tight and so are roads...nice to have a local tell you about sites as well as give tidbits of information you wouldn't normally know from tour books. We did a 2 hour tour. It was just enough.
It was an excellent tour by Andre, he was very professional with a lots of information in regards to the history of Lisbon. Would highly recommend him.

We did a 2 hour tour with our family of 4. Diogo was a fantastic guide and made our teenagers laugh and learn! He was well informed and a great host. A super way to get to see many areas without hiking uphill in the heat!

Most awesome city tour we have had out of 25 city Tours we have taken previously. Our guy knew absolutely everything about the history of Portugal and the city of Lisbon.
My finds and I booked this online and we were lucky to have Arthur with us. It was an electric tok tok so it was quiet and reliable. Our guide was very fluent in English and very well educated about the history and so. He had several stops in key areas and let us took pictures. I advise you yo go on the trip with him and we paid electronically prior to the trip.
Arthur was an awesome guide, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Lisbon! He took the time to make sure we stopped at all the locations I had on my list. Pick up and drop off were seamless. The food and wine tasting was also amazing, it gave us a true Portuguese experience! Highly recommend Arthur and this experience!!
Quick way to see the city and learn a lot of history in a short amount of time. Our guide Vitor was great. Very personable and made it fun.
Marta was an amazing tour guide and tuk tuk driver. Her knowledge of Portuguese history was extensive.
Very hard to hear the tour guide, her microphone wasn’t charged so as she was talking, the traffic of the cars around us, made it very difficult for us to hear her. The meeting place was very difficult to find and not posted at all.
You should hire a driver as this area is large and very steep. Gives you a good feel for the area as a whole and important historical information.
Guide was fantastic and so friendly, really enjoyed seeing the city on the Tuk Tuk! My young kids also enjoyed this fun filled adventure! I would definitely do this again!
We had a great time on our tour and it was an ideal way to see the highlights of Lisbon in a short space of time. Our guides were generally informative and very friendly and handled the busy streets of Lisbon skilfully and patiently.
Victor was a great guide and taught us so much about Lisbon in a short time. We even got a great recommendation for a beautiful spot for a sunset drink! You would never find this place on your own.
Arthur is AMAZING and was extremely friendly and informative. He took four of us (two adults and two kids,9 and 11) and told us about everything. He personalized it to our interests and added a ton of information that helped us navigate the city for the remainder of our trip. I HIGHLY recommend getting him!

Tiago was an enthusiastic, kind and funny guide. Our son said he was one of his favorite adults on our trip. He showed us some beautiful spots in Lisbon and shared some interesting tid bits along the way. We were only in Lisbon 5 days and it was a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time! Thiago was an amazing guide, so fun and gave us so much information! Highlight of the day was the Secret Garden bar, we loved it!
Arthur was great at explaining the different areas of Lisbon. He knew the history of the areas and the tragic history of 1755. He presented everything clearly answered any questions we had and took us to the high point for some great pictures. I would highly recommend Arthur and Eco Tuk Tuk.
We had 24 hours in Lisbon and were reluctant to do a hop-on, hop-off tour. Our 4 hours spent with Ania was a great choice. After a cheery greeting, Ania's questions for us about what we wanted out of the tour shaped our afternoon with her. The tour was informative, educational, and entertaining. When it was over, we felt like Ania had become part of our family, and that we had a sense of the complexity and beauty that is Lisbon. A perfect choice for us!
Nuno was the best guide we could have hoped for as he showed us the best of the sights around Lisbon. He shared he vast knowledge of the history and architecture of the city making for an interesting and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!
