From Lisbon: Sintra, Pena Palace And Regaleira

My husband had recently had back surgery so we wanted a private tour where we could go at a comfortable speed and have the opportunity to change things if needed. Miguel picked us up at our hotel and immediately started talking to us about what we were going to see and the history behind it.... we were hooked! He was interesting, very personable and seemed very knowledgeable about the sites and Portugal in particular. He was also very accommodating of my husband's comfort!! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour - it was actually our favorite of the trip!! We would DEFINITELY recommend this tour company (easy to work with) and especially Miguel!!

Sofia, our tour guide went above and beyond, genuinely one of the best parts of our Sintra day trip. She somehow made history fascinating in a way we never expected, mixing sharp storytelling with a great sense of humor that kept us engaged the whole time. Sofia was absolutely amazing!! She spent the entire day with us- she showed us the adorable town of Sintra, the famous castles, the beautiful viewpoints of the westernmost point of Portugal and she even extended our time and took us to a town I really wanted to see. She was so knowledgeable, personable, professional, fun and most of all she was incredible with our two daughters, ages 4 and 7. Of course the walking and history talk can get tiresome for kids that young, but she made it fun and engaging for them so they were never bored! She held their hands, carried them, played games with them in the car- we wish we could have kept her with us for our entire trip!! She was truly the best- if you want an amazing experience, book with her asap!!! Thank you, Sofia!!! ❤️

Sophia is a blast. She’s is a joy to be with, knowledgeable about her tour and the route along the way. And she’s funny! We traveled with a group of 5 adults and a little baby and all of us really enjoyed the day we spent with her. We highly recommend Sophia as a tourguide!

We booked a private full-day tour of Sintra and it was hands-down the highlight of our Portugal trip! Our guide Miguel was fantastic – knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and incredibly flexible. He showed us the beautiful palaces and gardens and informed us of the hidden details we would have completely missed on our own. We had time to wander the beautiful town and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with Miguel's recommendation. Skip-the-line access and a comfortable private vehicle made everything so relaxed and stress-free compared to the crowds we saw elsewhere. Miguel was a safe driver and we had a great time! If you're visiting Sintra, do yourself a favor and go private – you’ll see more, learn more, and enjoy it so much more. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful tour! Our guide Miguel was very kind and funny, and gave us a lot of interesting historical and architectural information. The pick up, drive, and drop-off were very easy. We purchased the option where we bought our own entry tickets for Pena Palace and Regaleira, and wish there had been more clear communication ahead of time for what entry time slots we should have purchased. We had no problem getting into the sights, even though our time slots were slightly different than the actual arrivals, though not sure if this would have been the same in a busier season. Other than that, would recommend this tour! Pena Palace and Regaleira were both stunning! Definitely worth checking out if you have time.

My sister and I booked this tour last minute and we were not disappointed. Sintra was absolutely magical. We enjoyed the castles and the beautiful grounds. I wish we had more time to see everything, but what we did see and the information that was provided by Francisco our tour guide was really informative. The weather was perfect. He recommended places for lunch as well. If you are interested in taking a day trip to Sintra, take this one you will not be disappointed.

It would have been a great experience if we got to go. Sofia was great but unfortunately due to the wildfires the tour was cancelled and we never got to go. The only thing I didn’t like was I had to request the refund even though it was t us who cancelled. I think this should have been handled through them not us. .

What a delightful day we had on this trip to Sintra! João was a wonderful guide! He not only knew so much history to share as we toured the various sites, but he also was caring, courteous, and so much fun! You will not be disappointed taking this full-day tour. (Just be prepared to walk a few hills through beautiful grounds at Pena Palace).

Great tour around Sintra. I had a smaller group and it felt more personalized and meaningful. I've heard locals talk highly of the Sintra area. It's gorgeous and felt more of an "authentic" representation of Portugal. Joao F. my guide was fantastic. Really friendly and knowledgeable. He helped my experience enjoyable. I would recommend this experience.

Easy pickup and transport to Sintra, we had a great time. Our guide Francisco had lots of historical information about the palaces he conveyed, as well as facts about the many types of architecture found in the city. Highly suggest this day trip!

We lived our day. Everything was well organised. We really liked Pena but even more Regaleira. But what made a big difference was our guide Francisco. Very nice person, knowledgable, he told us the hole story of Portugal with anecdotes and fun facts. For lunch he recommended a typical local restaurant. A perfect day.

We had a great tour, our driver was Joao. He was very informative and was great to have taking us around. We decided to eat lunch as a group and went to a really great restaurant in Sintra. Definitely recommend this tour while in Lisbon, you won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful time in Sintra! Our guide Francisco was great and very knowledgeable about Portuguese history and the sites in Sintra. We enjoyed being in a small group and felt like we spent the right amount of time at each location. My one suggestion for improvement was that the ticket purchase experience for the sites was a little confusing. In addition to purchasing the tour, we had to separately purchase tickets for each of the sites. Some members of our group had issues purchasing tickets, so they weren't able to get tickets for the times. Would recommend that the tickets are purchased centrally and included in the overall cost.

We had a fantastic day with our tour guide Joao! He was awesome! Very kind and professional. He explained the history of Portugal on the drive from Lisbon to beautiful Sintra. We enjoyed the visit to Pena Palace, lunch at a local restaurant that Joao recommended, and then a visit to Quinta da Regaleira. We ended the day with a quick stop at Cabo de Roco which had spectacular views! Our group of 3 would highly recommend this tour and especially our guide Joao!

Sintra was magical. I would definitely recommend a stop here. We saw two different palaces and our guide João was great! He took us to a local restaurant with the best food! The only part that was surprising for me was that we wound up walking about 7 miles - at least half of them uphill. I would suggest being prepared for this with comfortable walking shoes, water, etc. the guide was very nice walking slow as we trailed behind.

The trip was very well organized with spectacular views and excursions. The gardens were so beautiful and peaceful and the castles were unique. Definitely an unforgettable experience!

Sofia and her group of guides provided my family and I superior first class treatment during our time in Portugal. Sofia organized about 8 days worth of activities and private tours for my family. The guides went above and beyond to make sure my family had a fantastic experience. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old. Everyone was so patient and understanding. Wonderful tour. Perfect amount of time spent at each location. The lunch in the square was so good and would highly recommend taking the tour guides recommendation and eat lunch together with your fellow travelers. So much fun.

My wife and I had a great experience with Portugal Guided Tours and particularly with our guide, Sofia Afonso. Sofia was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about Lisbon and Portugal in general - we did a food tour and walking tour in Lisbon as well as a day trip to Sintra/Cascais. Sofia knew all of the history and background through all of the tours. She has a great sense of humor and keeps the tours very interesting. Sofia made sure we had time to see everything regardless of the time it took. She also set us up with tours in Porto and the Douro Valley and went out of her way to recommend restaurants and things to do in other towns we visited around Portugal. Would definitely use her services again.

My husband and I had a super fun tour with Joao! He was very knowledgable and brought a nice vibe. The places we visited were beautiful and we felt like we had enough time at each. There is a decent amount of walking uphill, which we were prepared for, but not everyone in the tour was which required some waiting. Overall had a nice time and would recommend if you want a quick and easy day trip.

We had a great experience! Everything was communicated clearly and thoroughly in advance, we were picked up right on time, and we had a wonderful day exploring Sintra with Joao as our guide. This was a private tour ,and it was wonderful, we visited the pena palace, ,walk a little in sintra and then visit regaleira .All were really interesting, it wasn't too any people wich was even better and we had plenty of time in each place .The tour guide Joao was the best ,patient and knowledgeable and took all the pictures I want .He took us to a lot of hidden spots and told us interesting stories. Patrik the polyglot was our guide for the day. He is able to speak five languages, is very knowledgeable and was nice and helpful throughout the day. Small group which was great. If time permits a visit to Sintra is recommend. Especially to Sintra village and to the amazing Quinta da Regaleira - a spectacular place!
