Rui has given a whole other way to experience Portugal! We (two couples) used DUCA to do a two day excursion to the Algarve. A trip packed with commentary from Rui from the minute he picked us up at our Airbnb until we arrived back in Lisbon two days later. Yes 2 days later because Rui worked his magic to give us a down day in beautiful Armação de Pêro in the middle of the now 3 day excursion! Rui provides an interactive way to see Portugal ‘s beautiful west coast and all of the Algarve. We were metres from the Spanish border before we headed back to Lisbon. He immersed us in everything one could imagine in a private excursion. Stunning sights, history, answers to every question we had, lunch or dinner suggestions and a safe and comfortable trip. He took care of every detail and as such all we did was love every minute of our excursion. FEEL the love for his country! Rui shared his Algarve experiences! You see, he spent his childhood summers in this area and through Rui we relived his life in the Algarve. Rui took us to places one does not find on other 2 day excursions. Our guide Rui was a perfect balance of being punctual and informative and yet giving our group space to enjoy our time together. Planned many great options, but also allowed for change when needed (such as adding 2 passengers last minute!) His driving was also the best I experienced from a guide or driver. Glad we took the overnight tour so we didn’t feel rushed or exhausted. Benagil caves were incredible and our guide Hugo was very knowledgeable and flexible to find the right fit of additional sites to visit. We even took a short ride over the border into Spain. Our guide Fatima was more than a tour guide..She made us feel like friends who came for a visit. She was very knowledgeable with history, and great with parking!! And she also took us to a fabulous restaurant that I sure would not have found on my own. What a great trip. I would highly recommend this trip.

Algarve is so pretty! I visited different towns, saw the cliffs and the sea, and even had time to relax. The hotel was clean and comfortable. My guide made everything easy and fun. It was a nice break from the city life in Lisbon. I loved it!
We were advised the day before that due to weather (windy and rough seas), that we would probably not be able to take the boat tour of the caves and given the option of cancelling. (We were really looking forward to the boat tour) We decided to continue with the tour and am glad that we did. Algarve area is beautiful and the food at the restaurants where we ate, were amazing! Our guide Fatima was fabulous. She was very friendly and full of knowledge. From the time that we were picked up, she explained what we would be doing, how long the drive was and apologized for the boat tour being cancelled, which was beyond her control. Since we weren't able to do the boat tour, we toured other places that we would not have been able to and spent more time at others. I would love to visit again and spend several days there I would definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time in Portugal and want to visit the south.
