From Lisbon, Sintra, Pena Palace, Cabo Roca & Cascais Tour

The tour was outstanding and our tour guide (Gonzalo) could not have been better. He asked if we wanted a couple of additional stops which we agreed to. The main reason for 4 stars is that the van was in rough shape (old, door difficult to open, etc).

It was a worthwhile trip overall visiting several interesting places, but we were disappointed in Sintra that it didn’t include the famous well. Not sure this was intended or because of the lazy guide who preferred to drop us somewhere, give us a few tips on things to do, and give us a time to be back while he disappeared to do his own thing for an hour. At the palace he told us about the wall walk but only after he was gone we realised he had pointed us towards the exit point where people were streaming out of so we couldn’t get in. We didn’t find the entry until it was time to move on so we missed doing that as well.

Lara was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. She also invited me to a fado tour later that evening which was fantastic! It ended up being a memorable day that I'll never forget 😎🌟

Our guide, Lara, was fantastic! She provided us with so much valuable information about EVERYTHING (and I'm not exaggerating), it's crazy. We've learned so much about Portuguese and Brazilian history, and she was so, SO nice! I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who would like to spend a great day travelling through well-known touristic attractions. If you get Lara as your guide, consider yourself very lucky!

It was really fun and great to learn about the history. Sadly we didn’t go to Pena but the rest was really enjoyable. The tour guide, Miguel, was very nice and a great guide. It’s really worth seeing, I’d recommend it a lot.

Our third tour in Portugal, and this one was the best! Xavier was a very cool guide. Patient throughout the whole day with everything and everyone. We had time to see every stop and he made sure we were ok keeping frequent contact with us. Book a tour with Destination Hostels and ask for professor Xavier 😂

This was easily one of the highlights of my trip to Portugal! What I loved the most was that it didn't feel like a formal, over-organized tour where you know every single next step. The group was small and intimate, and Nessim, the tour guide, was so knowledgeable and full of information, but he also made a real effort to connect with everyone individually - fantastic guy. A great tour with Xavie. An unfortunate the lack of time to see everything. Definitely worth visiting Cascais and Sintra while you are in Lisbon but prepare to walk the whole day

If you have time in Lisbon, please check Sintra and book this tour with Xavier. It's a long walk the whole day so be prepared but the views are amazing. Definitely worth it!

If you're looking for a great way to get a whistlestop tour of Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais, this is the tour to go for. It's not for the feint of heart though as it involves over 12k steps, up and down around castles, gardens, palaces and along the coast. Our guide, Mario, was fantastic - very knowledgeable, approachable and ensured everyone was looked after and knew what to expect with the climbs/ascents. The full day was a lot so ensure you are well rested and clear headed!! Well worth it though!

Most of the group already knew each other from the hostel and it was a nice suggestion from the reception to spend a cool day outside of Lisbon. Xavier was a fun guide to talk with and everyone really liking him. The places were astonishing and Xavier sometimes had to ask us nicely to move to the next location because we didn’t want to leave 😁

It was an amazing experience! Our guide Nessie was very friendly and told us about the history of the places we visited. I met really nice people and we had a good time together. The price is a good deal if you wanna avoid the stress of thinking about transport since you will go in a van with the whole group, if you wanna meet knew people and learn a bit more about Lisbon and the towns you’re visiting.

Our local guide Miguel is efficient, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English! The tour was well curated as a day trip from Lisbon and afforded us more insights into the history and sights of Sintra. It is certainly a must-see in my opinion for those who can afford the time. What we also liked was the small group tour - which made the experience more exclusive.

We loved our day with Miguel. We visited Cascais, Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Pena castle and gardens. Miguel drove very safely, was very knowledgeable and the day just flew by. It was only a small group and he made an effort to engage with everyone individually. Easy going, well travelled and a pleasure to have his company for the day. We felt like we saw a lot and it was very helpful to have this organised for us. Also, he provided good tips for local restaurants and Portuguese information.

it was a fabulous day. Xavier was friendly, engaging and professional. he gave us all kinds of historical and fun facts while driving to each destination. i think the group enjoyed conversations with each other too.
