Fatima, Valinhos, Battle, Nazare, Obidos With Private Guide

We had a lovely day trip with Anastasia to the various places at a comfortable pace in a car. We were able to spend a good amount of time on our own at Fatima which was the main focus for the trip. We learned a lot from Anastasia about the various locations we visited as well as Lisbon and Portugal. Overall a great day outside of Lisbon to experience different parts of Portugal.

Anastasia was so knowledgeable about the area and all of Portugal. She gave us time to visit the sites, gave wonderful recommendations and even shared some for other areas we were traveling to. I highly recommend!

Fantastic tour of several Portugal cities and their sites. João picked us up at our hotel early in the morning, and we spent the entire day checking out all the import sites from Fatima to Nazare and Obidos. João was a wealth of knowledge about everything throughout Portugal, as well as the religious and cultural sites. We were dropped back off at our hotel in the early evening. What a great tour!! My highest recommendation to João and his company! Cheers!

Me and my family enjoyed this tour immensely. Anastasia was great! She is very knowledgeable of the history of all the places and also shared a lot of great stories that you wouldn’t normally read in the books. She was also very flexible and accommodating with the time you want to spend in each of the places. And she provided a lot of tips and suggestions on other places and products. She went above and beyond. We will definitely be booking more tours with the tour operator in the future. If you’re looking for a day tour that allows you to cover a lot of places without being rushed, I highly recommend this!

Our guide, Anastasia was very good. She explained the importance of Fátima. We visited the homes of the children. We also stopped at the monastery of Battle. We walked on the beach at Nazaré. We stopped at the medical town and tasted the local liquor. Outside was lovely and very informative at each stop

We took the private tour with Anastasia. She was great. All the way out telling us information about Fatima, cork trees, history of Portugal and much more. She came prepared with umbrellas for us when it rained. She took the time to answer all our questions so that we could understand the full spectrum of our questions.

We had a very wonderful day with Jaoh. He took us to Fatima, where we had more than enough time to take in the spiritual experience of being there. Then, we were off to Valinhos, Battalia, Obidos and back to the hotel. Throughout the day, Jaoh took the time to explain many details to us about what we were looking at. We learned about, history, architecture and so much more. He was a wealth of information. He was attentive and courteous and made sure we were safe at every spot. It was truly a wonderful experience.

I enjoyed this day trip with Anastasia. It was our 2nd tour with her and I highly recommend her. She relates a wealth of information and anecdotes about the landmarks thst you see that they come alive in your mind. She is also very personable and friendly. I did not feel my best in the afternoon, she made sure to stop at a pharmacy and translate my symptoms to the pharmacist and when we returned to the vehicle after wandering in the castle, she had bought me a bottle of carbonated water which I appreciated very much. Fatima is a must stop for any catholic. It’s like the Vatican of Portugal. Enjoyed seeing the children’s homes which are preserved as they were. The monastery in Batallia was amazing. The light reflected onto the giant columns through the stained glass. Loved our stop in Nazare, despite the fact that I wasn’t at my best. The sight of the village and ocean is always good for the soul. The castle was a fun stop at the end of the tour. Always amazed how they were able to build such structures so long ago. In summary, I highly recommend this tour.

Our day with Anastasia as our guide has been a highlight of our Portugal vacation. As our private guide, she drove us to Fatima, the village and homes of the three children who saw the apparition in 1917, then to an amazing neo-Gothic monastery, to Nazare and Obidos. She introduced us to each experience and allowed plenty of time to fully absorb what we were seeing. We highly recommend Anastasia for this memorable tour.

Fantastic tour! Chose a private tour so we could take our time and choose what we wanted to do. It was well worth it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of of time to explore in our own. Would highly recommend recommend this tour

We had a wonderful trip. We especially loved visiting the homes of the Shepherd children and the trip to Obidos. Our tour guide went out of his way to accommodate our dietary needs. It was a lovely day.

Anastasiya was our tour guide , and she was excellent as was the tour. Initially we went to the Shrine of Fatima, admiring its grandeur and its profound holiness. We further went to the village where the children who witnessed the Virgin Mary were raised. We then saw the dramatic Monastery of Batalha, after which we travelled to Nazares and then onto Obidas. Thorough, informative and memorable tour. Anastasiya was very professional and punctual.

Very well paced private tour. Anastácia was amazing. She is so friendly and a wealth of knowledge about the country, its history and culture. Now if you want to eat something special the region around Fátima is known for, ask Anastácia to take you to the restaurant where suckling pig is their specialty! So yummy…

The day started with Joao picking us up at the hotel, he was prompt and friendly. Joao shared a wealth of information during our day tour. We had an amazing day seeing the country side and learning from Joao.

Driver John was personable and informative. I would recommend him. Expected more in Fatima, wasn’t much to see. Too much time spent shopping after that.

We were met at our hotel by Anastasiia for a private tour of Fatima. Her knowledge of Fatima and the other places we visted was exceptional. Visiting Fatima and the place where the three shepherds lived was my goal and I really loved it. We ended up in a mass at the church there so I had to leave without taking some photos. Anastasiia took me back there later so I could take them.Our visit to Obidos, Nazare and the Monastery of Battle were an added bonus. I would recommend Kitzel tours and Anastasiia if you want a really great day.

We had an amazing time visiting Fatima, Batalha,Nazare and Obidos with our tour guide Anastasia. She made sure we arrive safely and on time and made sure we were comfortable and that we’re enjoying our trip. She knows all the information so we really learned a lot from our trip. This is so memorable for our family as we really wish to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima and we really appreciate Anastasia for being patient with our group. She’s flexible with our needs and is willing to adjust the time of our trip. She also made sure our mom can walk comfortably as she has problem with her knees. Most importantly Anastasia made sure we will have great time in Lisbon so she sent us all additional information about the city. We highly recommend booking them as they made sure your trip will be fun and informative.

We had an amazing day with John which totally exceeded our expectations. This trip to Fatima was my mother’s dream and John made it unforgettable. Nazaré and Óbidos were unexpected but wonderful surprises. During the whole trip, John went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy, comfortable and entertained. Joao was an incredible tour guy for Tony and me since the pickup until the dropped off at our hotel. Very knowledgeable and amazing personality. We really enjoyed our tour and also the lunch in a place recommended by him. Timing was never an issue for Joao. We will definitely recommend him to our friends, family and Trip Advisor/Viator community.

Our guide Anastasia was extremely knowledgeable , friendly, and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable about Fatima, the cathedral and the surrounding area . She also took us to a souvenir factory in Fatima. She brought us to a local restaurant that served typical Portuguese dishes that were delicious. I would highly recommend her

Enjoyed visiting Fatima & the children’s homes. Also visiting the monastery, Nazare & medieval town of Obidos. Our tour guide “John” was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. John chose a very nice restaurant for lunch which we enjoyed very much. Most importantly John did not rush us, therefore making it a very memorable tour.

We had the most amazing time with Joao! He was outgoing and made our trip amazing! He was very relatable and full of knowledge! Fátima was vey moving for us. That was my favorite of the trip and we loved seeing Nazare as well all the other beautiful stops! Hope to do this again soon!

Wonderful, informative exploration of many special sites just outside of Lisbon. My tour guide Anastasia was exceptional. My husband had taken a fall the day before so couldn’t go, Anastasia and I had a great time!

My wife and I just returned from Portugal and one of the highlights of our trip was the tour of Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, and Obidos we experienced with Anastasiya. She was personable, funny, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely relaxed (we never felt rushed). We started the day at Fatima, which was an incredible opportunity to witness the site of Mary's appearance in 1917. We attended outdoor Sunday mass with pilgrims from around the world, visited the Basilica with the tombs of the Jacinta, Lucia, and Francisco, and saw the homes where the children grew up. It was an incredible stop. We then had a delicious lunch with Anastasiya before visiting the Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Nazare, a town on the coast that is famous for surfing, and Obidos, a medieval city that features narrow cobblestone streets and an opportunity for a sip of Ginja, cherry liqueur from Portugal. What attracted us to a private tour is that as Catholics, Fatima was a "must see" and most larger, non-private tours only stopped there for 60-80 minutes. With a private tour, we were able to customize our visit and stayed longer in Fatima. Anastasiya is an exceptional tour guide. Her attention to detail, customer orientation, and fun personality just made this an all-around fantastic day. I cannot recommend Kitzel Tours and Anastasiya enough.

Anastasia was a phenomenal tour guide! Friendly, social, personable and extremely knowledgeable. She was also extremely accommodating and works in accordance to your pace, allowing you more or less time where desired. My parents and I had a lovely day. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing day with the best tour guide I have ever encountered, Anastasia was so informative and knowledgeable she made our trip to Lisbon come alive. We were blessed to have visited on 13 June, 2024 and arrived at Fatima in time for the procession and mass. Incredible experience. Our guide, Jaoa, was extremely knowledgeable, well-known in Fatima and flexible with our schedule. Our visit to the homes of Jacinta and Francisco ( Lucia’s home is to be re-opened soon); was very special. We also had the honour of meeting a niece of Francisco and Jacinta! We followed up with visits to Batalha, Nazare and Obidos for an incredible end to our amazing visit. We highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and tailored our trip to our liking and what we wanted to get out of our visit. It was a long but rewarding day. But from now on I think I’ll book my tours directly with these local tour companies instead of using Viator they have very poor customer service.
