The Chapel of the Apparitions is a small chapel in Fatima, marking the site where three shepherd children reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
You will stop and explore the Sanctuary of Fatima for about 1 hour. Fatima is today one of Catholicism’s major shrines and is visited by 6 million people every year. It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared to three children – Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta – every single month from May 13th, 1917 until October 13th, 1917.
This church was established in the 14th century when King Ferdinand came on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Nazare, commemorating an ancient miracle attributed to the Virgin Mary's intercession.
Nazare is a charming fishing town with plenty of places to stop and enjoy the ocean view. The town center is bustling with seafood restaurants, making it a great spot to sample local cuisine. Situated 110 meters (360 feet) above the ocean, this cliff-top area offers breathtaking views. One notable landmark is a small chapel built in 1182 by a local nobleman, Dom Fuas Roupinho, in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving his life. Close by is the baroque church, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazare, which was constructed in the 14th century. Take some time to relax in this beautiful location and be sure to try a typical local restaurant for lunch.

To fully appreciate Praia da Nazare and the southern part of Nazare village, you will stop at the top of the Nazare cliff. This picturesque seaside view is definitely worth seeing.
You'll visit the small Hermida da Memoria chapel located on the edge of the Nazare cliff. It has been visited by many famous pilgrims, including Vasco da Gama.
Praia do Norte get some of the biggest waves in the world. It was in 2011 that this beach hit the headlines when Garrett McNamara surfed a record-breaking 24-meter wave here.
The Forte de Sao Miguel is a 16th-century fort that was converted into a lighthouse. It offers spectacular views of the ocean and houses the Nazare Canyon Interpretive Center.
Obidos is a medieval town that was captured from the Moors in 1148. Since then, it has been a walled city, featuring cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. Founded on a hilltop with views of the ocean, the bay gradually silted up, and since the 15th century, Obidos has been a landlocked town. However, Obidos is not just about its medieval architecture; it is also known for its lively festivals, bookstores, small museums, and local delicacies like chocolate and ginjinha (a cherry liqueur, one serving per person is included in the price). In recent years, Obidos has been reinventing itself as a literary center.

Lily was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She was so sweet, and we learned so much from her. In addition, she is a fantastic driver. All of the spots on the tour were lovely, and we had a lot of fun with our tour group. Our favorite spot was Obidos, but the whole tour was perfection. We could not have asked for a better day!

Catalina, our guide, was superb beyond expectation. She was knowledgeable, and very patient with our group of seven people. We got to do the three places and explore them fully. She knew the history and important facts of each location and in between the three, she gave us a lot of information about Portugal in general – its culture and people. I could not have been happier with selecting this tour. I would give her a 10 out of 10 if I could.
The experience was extraordinary. The places we visited were beautiful. The vehicle we used was comfortable, and our tour guide, Tania, was spectacular; her knowledge of the locations showed that she really knew her stuff, and she was always attentive to ensuring we were well taken care of.
Carolina was amazing. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would not hesitate to book another day trip. She shared many facts about the places we visited as well as other areas we were heading later that week.
This choice was perfect for us!! We enjoyed our respectful travel companions - lively conversation in the van and always on time for departures. Miguel ( aka Mike, Michael, Big Mike, Little Mike) made the travel times "fly by" with engaging conversation, personal antidotes and of course- the "required knowledge and history" every guide shares. He made us wish we had more time to spend in Portugal and provided us with the incentive to return. The stops and timing were just right for us. The place we chose for lunch in Nazare (Portobellos) was one of several Miguel recommended - and we were NOT disappointed. (We had the grilled red snapper - AMAZING!!!!)
Our Tour Guide Karolina made this full day trip enjoyable. She drove 8 of us to the 3 different sites. She made the 1.5 hour. trip to Fatima enjoyable and was very knowledgeable and friendly. She explained what happens in Fatima especially when the pope comes to town. She gave us great suggestions for lunch and made sure everyone was comfortable with the plan and had options of walking to the beach or shopping. She sincerely is a people person and loves her job. The competitive surfing spot was cool. The chocolate tasting was a bonus. Hope you are lucky enough to get Karolina as your guide.

Fatima, Nazare and Obidus are truly must-see places when you are in Lisboa, Portugal. Our tour guide, Katerina or Kat was very entertaining, quite knowledgeable about itinerary. She is truly a “mother duck” who takes care of her ducklings, always vigilant if any one of the participants disappear from her line of sight.
This is a very nice tour and full day. Our guide was Carolina and she made it very special. Her knowledge of the areas and history made for a very special day. Nazaré and Óbidos are gorgeous. She even knew the safest stairs in Obidos. Very reasonable price and plenty of free time to explore. .

This was a great tour, the host was knowledgeable, kind and made us feel comfortable for the whole trip. We had a group of 6 plus the host, which made the tour feel more intimate compared to bigger size tours. We got to see very different areas of Portugal, a cozy small town surrounded by a fort you could walk onto, a beautiful ocean view on top of a cliff with a view of the surroundings and a famous cathedral in a place with deep catholic roots. Overall, i would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the simplicity of tours while visiting Lisbon !

Ricardo Felic was an excellent guide. During the drive between destinations Ricardo continued to give us information about the country and attractions while on other day trips the guide was often silent unless questioned until we were close to the destination

This was a great excursion with a varied experience, we visited Fatima, Nazare and Obidos. Our guide was TANIA, she was excellent, easily the best guide we have had in both Spain and Portugal. She gave us excellent commentary all day, was helpful and thoughtful for our group. Good transport with plenty of room for 8 people. All 8 of us were pleased with the tour and loved our guide.
The tour covers all the main points of interest in Fatima and the other 2 cities are beautiful. Tour goes at a good pace, not rushed. Iliana, our tour guide was great!
It’s a bit of a rushed experience. If you can do this or the Duoro valley choose the Duoro valley. If you are going for religious purposes to see Fatima this tour is not for you as they will only give you 1 hour. Nazare is quite decent but unless the waves are big it’s not much. Obiedos the cherry wine is great and the views from the fort are good. Do climb it.

Our guide was knowledgeable and reorderd the trip to most avoid crowds. Obidos was great. We got a nice tour of an old shop and were served Ginginia.,the cherry liquor. Provided time to explore each site on our own. Got caught in traffic on the way back but the good conversation with other travelers made it hardly noticeable
Miguel was a great guide! He knew his history and made it very interesting. We knew of Fatima- but didn’t know about Nazare or Óbidos. It was fun learning and experiencing all the beautiful sites.
Make sure you have comfortable shoes and are well rested. The drive to Fatima is about two hours and our guide, Carolina, who is over the top fantastic, made sure that it was fun and extremely informative. You’re not going to want to sleep! Nazare and Obidos, two towns full of history and culture, are also must sees spots to visit. What a great way to see areas near Lisbon without the hassle of renting a car. This was a was a wonderful tour/adventure!

This tour exceeded our expectations, We had Miguel as a guide who was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the locations we visited. He was also a great storyteller and related well with the group. I highly recommend going on this tour.
From the first meeting Miguel set the tone of our tour. He is a diamond. Very shiny and sparkling. His smile and laugh is contagious. The entire tour he smiled and engaged with each one of us. The ride to Fátima was so much fun. There were 6 Americans and two Australias. By the time we Arrived Fátima he made all of us feel like family. As each of us introduced ourselves he had a comment designed for each person.. At each stop on the tour Miguel (big Mike) would have a teaching moment of each place. It was like we were his students listening to every word. He shared stories of his family and asked about ours. My birthday was the next day. He surprised me with a nice gift. What a wonderful man. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Just a marvelous experience. The site at Fatima was amazing and inspiring. Our guide, Carolina, was very warm and engaging and really made the experience memorable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day long adventure. Fatima, Navarre and Obidos are three smaller towns with cathedrals, views and amazing food. Our tour guide, Lily, had many stories and history to share while we rode in a very comfortable van she drove expertly into each area. Exploring each place was different and gave us insight into what Portugal is for growers of the cork, the faithful Catholics, the athletic surfers and an ancient medieval walled village. The diversity of the people and their stories is invaluable to appreciating this country. We had a wonderful time!
Perfect day trip from Lisbon! Pureza was a wonderful guide. She gave us information along the way and then we had free time in each stop, the stops weren’t guided which we liked. She did give us tips on what we should we see in each stop and showed us around briefly at the beginning so we had an idea of what to focus on. We had plenty of time in each stop as well. We also loved the small group because we weren’t lost in a big tour group. It was about 10 hours total.
Carolina was fantastic. So knowledgeable and entertaining. She took great care to make sure everyone on our tour got to see and experience everything they wanted. Highly recommend this tour and tour guide.
Fabulous day with Francisco who expertly guided our group of 4 couples all from different places. He provided history interesting information and did so with enthusiasm and humor. He had us each share our own background which was enjoyable for all. He arranged a delicious lunch for us with fresh fish caught that day. He was patient kind and professional from beginning to end. Highly recommend this tour and Francisco!
