Itinerary
Visit the heart of one of the world’s most important pilgrimage sites — the Chapel of the Apparitions, built on the very spot where three shepherd children witnessed the Virgin Mary’s apparitions in 1917. Feel the serene atmosphere that continues to inspire millions of pilgrims, and take a moment of quiet reflection in this sacred place.
Spend time exploring the Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the world, attracting millions each year. Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where devotion and history come together, and learn about the miraculous apparitions of the Virgin Mary to the three shepherd children — Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta — in 1917. Take in the peaceful atmosphere that has made Fátima a symbol of faith and hope for over a century.
Batalha Monastery is a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country’s finest examples of Gothic architecture. Built in the 14th century to commemorate Portugal’s victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota, this monumental complex stands as a masterpiece of devotion and artistry. Admire the intricate stonework of the Founder’s Chapel, where King João I, Queen Philippa of Lancaster, and their son, Prince Henry the Navigator, are laid to rest.
Perched high above the Atlantic, Sítio da Nazaré offers one of Portugal’s most breathtaking coastal panoramas. From this dramatic cliff-top viewpoint, enjoy sweeping views over the beach below — a spot cherished by locals and surfers alike. Visit the Chapel of Memory, built by Dom Fuas Roupinho in the 12th century to honor the Virgin Mary after she saved him from falling into the sea, and admire the nearby Church of Our Lady of Nazaré, a graceful baroque sanctuary.
Discover Nazaré, Portugal’s most iconic coastal village, where tradition and natural beauty meet. Once a humble fishing town, Nazaré is now world-famous for its golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, and record-breaking waves. Learn how local fishermen once hauled their colorful boats onto the sand to protect them from the fierce Atlantic, and soak in the authentic atmosphere of this seaside gem. Take time to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of Nazaré’s traditional seafood restaurants, where the day’s fresh catch is served with ocean views that perfectly capture the spirit of coastal Portugal.
End your day in the enchanting medieval village of Óbidos, one of Portugal’s most picturesque and well-preserved towns. Enclosed within ancient stone walls, Óbidos is a maze of cobbled streets, whitewashed houses draped in flowers, and cozy artisan shops. Once gifted to Queen Isabel in the 13th century, the town became known as the “Wedding Gift Village.” As you explore, soak in its timeless beauty and vibrant local culture — from charming bookstores and chocolate boutiques to lively festivals that fill the narrow lanes. To complete your visit, enjoy a tasting of the famous local liqueur, Ginjinha, served in a traditional shop that has perfected this sweet cherry recipe over generations.

Maria is a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable but not too much - she knew the perfect balance between sharing information and letting us quietly observe our surroundings. She was funny and warm and offered great suggestions. Overall, great tour. Nice way to see a few places and back to Lisbon before dinner.
It was ok, I felt very rushed at the beginning to the point that a young lady where i purchased my water before getting back into the van mentioned how the guide/driver was extremely rushed. We were only going to do a "drive by" in Batalha, however we were allowed 15 min walk around. This trip does not include any entry tickets and you are just dropped off at locations to explore on your own. The guide was knowledgeable about local history.
No tour guide, only the driver. Mainly providing transportation (drop offs and pickups) with little to no tour. We didn’t get to see the main wall that was posted in the picture, plus Fatima was too short. Driver was extremely rushed as well, and drive very aggressive where our front passenger had to patiently guide him to slow down abit. Do the longer tour in Fátima instead where you have more time.
We had a nice time with Alex. He’s professional, knowledgeable about the area. We didn’t feel rushed and gave us informative information.
Fantastic trip exploring the rural side of Portugal! Everything was seamless and it really was a small group tour (around 6 of us in the mini-van). I’d say our guide, Alex, was the highlight of the tour (at least for me), because not only was he so knowledgable on the history of the stops, he even gave us some quizzes/trivias here and there to pique our interest. Also, he’s very cute 🥰. The only downside was he drove a bit too fast during our trip (we were going 140mph on a 120mph limit highway lmao). Nonetheless it was a great trip. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Portugal!
It was a very interesting Tour. All 4 places has lots of history. Our guide Zaviar was very Good He was very helpful and always with a smile.I will recommend this tour for everyone.
This was a fantastic trip from start to finish! Exploring Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré, and Óbidos in one day was incredible, and everything was seamless. Our guide, Alex, was absolutely amazing, so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire journey. We were all sad when the day came to an end because we were having such a great time. I 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal!
Maria was enthusiastic and very knowledgable. She was very accommodating to the interests of the group. All the stops were great.
Lots of fun with great driver, Alex. Fatima was disappointing in that no review of the events was given at the site. Our driver did give a brief info Lon the bus.
Alex was a terrific guide. He was very informative, engaging, friendly and polite. Also prompt and efficient. Alex also gave an excellent recommendation for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. Great guide, overall!
Joao, tour guide, is very cheerful, friendly & informative. It could have been even better if we skip Batalha altogether, and spend more time in Obidos with added information in this city. Thank you again and appreciate for your best effort on this tour schedule. Best regards.
Really went on your to see large wave at but was told no large waves this time of year, probably would not have booked your if I had been informed, rest of tour was interesting. Guide Xavier was good, gave interesting facts
It's really great. Fatima as a pilgrimage for Catholics is truly special. The rest of the stops were good too.
Pedro our driver/ tour guide was amazing. Very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. It was supposed to be 8 hour trip and turned into 12 hour. He let us spend more time in places we needed more. Thank you so much. Can’t recommend him enough.
I am going out of my way to leave this review. We booked 8 people mini van and were bumped to a 45 people bus. We were given no prior information. We could have made a different booking or decided to change plans but if you message us at 8.14 am for 8 am tour - that’s not done. There were conveniently 45 exact people in a 45 seater bus. I am not buying the coincidence. I have never had such an experience via Viator. Transparency would have been good. We did not sign up for a 45 person slow tour that was just frustrating. The driver and guide did try but was clearly not in their hand - we were brushed aside saying you were sent mails - which we were not.
Other Travelers should know that unlike other Viator tours which went successfully and as scheduled we we booked a tour on purpose for a small party of eight. However we were forced to either take a bus with 48 other people or forfeit the tour! The reason we were given is that the driver of the smaller tour didn't come into work today! We expect a FULL REFUND for the amount that WE PAID! If buy a tour does not issue a full and complete refund for what we paid we will give Viator the worst reference and recommendations that we have ever given any tour group and we will never use Viator again! I'm a 73-year-old disabled veteran and instead of sitting in a comfortable van with roomy seating and only seven other persons I was forced into a cramped crowded bus with almost 50 people all coughing gagging and everything else!
Do not go with this tour operator !! They had published a" small group tour" and we paid for a "Small group tour", but on the day of the tour they only gave us an option to either to cancel or join a big bus with 40 other people. So if you only have one day in Lisbon, they give you only one option but to squeeze you in the big group of 40 people . They did not even try to make the effort to find means to provide a small group transport. There were 8 other participants who were victims of their scam. Be careful with booking with this tour Operator " Odyssey tours". No communication before the tour, was received from this tour operator regarding this issue. Do not take the bait of a "small group tour" expect a big tour group.
Alex was a great tour guide and had deep knowledge of all of the stops (Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, Obidos). We really appreciated his flexibility and willingness to modify the tour to give us more time in Obidos and a short stop at Batalha! Would recommend booking a tour with him again!
This experience was enjoyable by all accounts. The guide, Alex, was well informed. He obviously takes pride in his work and understands the history of the places visited. Alex was pleasant and took the time do it right! A pleasant young man. Your very fortunate to have him in your employ.
Alberto was a great driver and guide. We did a lot in one day, but without feeling rushed. Plus, he gave us really good tips of local hidden jews in Lisbon. Totally worth it!!!
Our guide Xavier was very informative of the history/story of each place we visited. Recommendation of lunch in Nazare Restaurante Taberna do Pouca Roupa Is worth going to if you love fish. The grilled Dourado was excellent! The big waves weren’t happening this time. I’ll be back next winter. Fátima was on my bucket list since I was a child. What a beautiful experience to be there in person. Interesting history of Batahal and Obidos. This tour was worth going. Thank you Xavier.
We had a great tour with Alex as our guide! He was engaging, lighthearted, and patient throughout the experience, making the tour both enjoyable and informative. Highly recommend!
Well worth the cost and time. Got to see a lot of Portugal that I would have missed if I didn't go on the tour.
One of the best tour we had. Got to visit few places in Portugal in a day! Tour guide is nice and explained history of each place we visited. Got to eat fresh good seafood in the restaurant he recommended!
We saw beautiful areas and we were not rushed. The guide was very informative, patient and friendly. Paulo did more than we expected. Thank you!!
Wonderful way in a day to see four unique sites, including Fatima. We were there the day before the 13 October event where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims arrive. After Fatima, we visited Batalha which is a very interesting Gothic church built in celebration of the Portuguese victory over the Spanish. Then we went. to Nazare where the biggest waves in the world are to be found - a very interesting fishing village and we enjoyed a fantastic lunch of doraude. The it was off to the Obidos fortified village / town which is both quaint and picturesque and the walls are walkable (if one has a head for heights)
awesome tour. Day planned perfectly. Very specific our tour guy was a pleasure. he was knowledgeable fun and answered all of our questions.
We had a fantastic day, Alberto our guide was super friendly and fun we saw a variety of different sights and Id really recommend this tour for any one, thankyou !
There was not a lot of time at any stop and lots of time on the bus. We did see many things but not for long. Guide was interesting. We wanted to see Nazare and Obidas so our goals were reached. Our guide did recommend we eat at Dom Manolo in Cascais and this restaurant was terrible!
Perfectly organized. We were in a minibus with 6 other people. Alberto provided a lot of interesting information during the drive and at the locations.
It was comfortable and consolidated. We were able to see 4 unique places and Portuguese countryside as we traveled. Our guide, Xavier, made the entire experience happy, informative, and fun. He was a fantastic guide!!
Got to see multiple historical, religious and geographical sites. Our guide, Maria, taught a lot while driving to all the sites but then allowed us to visit the sites at our own pace ( as long as we returned to van at designated times😀). She was quite energized and so informative. Definitely bring good footwear for walking and large appetite for your lunch stop. She suggested great seafood restaurant in Nazare. Fantastic day
Such an enjoyable experience! Fatima and Batalha was amazing, Nazare was so beautiful!!! Obidos was like stepping into another world. Our guide, Pedro Carvalho, was exceptional. He truly went out of his way to accommodate us and made sure we enjoyed every minute of the trip, even during the drive. He agreed to extend our time in Fatima to see all the sites. he gave us suggestions where to eat in Nazare. He helped the other couple in our tour that had a baby in a stroller navigate the stairs and limestone streets. We never had a tour guide like that! If you are booking this trip with Odyssey Tours, ask for Pedro Carvalho as your driver.
Travelling with small group through the country side to some of the amazing tourist attractions in Portugal. Exploring a religious site, learning about the battle fields and hearing an interesting stories about the women of Nazare.
That Alex , our tour guide was phenomenal ! We were a group of 6 and it was perfect We went out of his way to make us happy and to accommodate our needs. He was very informative and knowledgeable! I would pick Alex over any tour guide anytime!! At the end of the tour my phone was stolen and he ran to find the guys who took it!!!!
Excellent itinerary! Covered a lot of locations in the Fatima/Obidos towns. Paolo our guide was very accommodating, resourceful (had a vehicle issue but was resolved) and friendly to us all.
We highly recommend this day trip! We had Alex as our guide and he was so knowledgeable, funny and very helpful as I have a broken ankle and he always made sure I was okay. The day went really well, very organized and never an issue finding our way back to Alex or the van. It was also a very relaxing and comfortable drive, with Alex pointing out some high lites and history along the way. We never felt rushed as we had more than enough time for a nice lunch in Nazare. We are very happy we took this day tour and even happier we ended up with Alex!
We had an amaizing time. Our tour guide (Alexander) was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure that we were happy, comfortable and safe. He gave us enough time to see each place. We definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide was exceptional, he did everything he could to keeps us happy and to enjoy this trip , give him extra money !!
Nice tour to include some major highlights of the region. Maria was a wonderful tour guide - very friendly and knowledgeable. For me, highlight was the walled city of Obidos. Very tasty lunch in Nazare at restaurant recommended by Maria. I would recommend this tour.
Alex was very knowledgeable and flexible. His recommendation for lunch was awesome. And he was very honest.
Alex is a really cool guy and he is very interested in explaining every single detail about the places. Would highly recommend to everyone.
At Nazara drivers can go up near the light house and people can just take tuk tuk from there instead of dropping them at the village because that is the point from visiting that place to get to the light house which picture spires people to visit it
It was a very nice tour we had a lot of time at each stop to see the attractions, explore and shop. Our guide Alberto was very friendly!
This was my second tour out of Lisbon and I have to say I was a little disappointed. My first tour was a real tour with our guide providing us with non stop information and stories throughout the whole tour even while driving. This tour was not like that at all. Unfortunately it felt more like we were just being transported to the locations dropped off with a time to meet back at the van to go to the next location. The “guide” we had as more a van driver than anything. I feel like we got no information and learned nothing. Granted the guide was a nice person but this is definitely not a tour service and more of a way to just get transported to other locations around Lisbon. I would rather find a good tour guide who will actually teach you something
Our tour guide, Maria, was very prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming, and flexible. We had a lovely day.
Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had some time to explore the sites we saw today. My only issue was the speed in which she was driving which was quite a bit above the speed limit. . At times it was a little scary with tailgating and weaving in traffic. I would recommend this but with another driver.
Excellent variety of sites. Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. Good communication and easy to understand
Good value given the price. Nazaré and Obidos are worth the trip, while the other two places can really skip.
