The area is famous for its beautiful squares, traditional cafés, art galleries, theaters, and luxury shops. Landmark sites include the historic Café A Brasileira, the famous Livraria Bertrand (the world's oldest operating bookstore), and the São Carlos Theater. Perched on one of Lisbon’s seven hills, Bairro Alto is a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets filled with an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary establishments, including bars, restaurants, and boutique shops. It is particularly famous for its thriving nightlife scene, attracting both locals and tourists with its abundance of Fado music venues, trendy bars, and late-night cafes. Despite its lively reputation, Bairro Alto has a long history that dates back to the 16th century, and its charming buildings, with colorful facades and wrought-iron balconies, reflect the neighborhood’s character. By day, Bairro Alto offers a more relaxed atmosphere, with antique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafes, but as evening falls, the area transforms into one of Lisbon’s most animated spots.
Baixa is the downtown district of Lisbon, Portugal, and serves as the commercial and architectural heart of the city. Known for its grand, neoclassical buildings, wide boulevards, and elegant squares, Baixa was extensively rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake, which destroyed much of the older part of the city. This reconstruction, led by the Marquis of Pombal, transformed Baixa into a well-planned grid of streets that remain one of Lisbon’s most important urban landmarks. Baixa is home to some of Lisbon’s most famous squares, such as Praça do Comércio, a majestic riverside square, and Rossio Square, a lively hub surrounded by cafés and shops. The district is also known for its beautiful Arco da Rua Augusta, a monumental arch leading to the river, and the Santa Justa Lift, an iconic wrought-iron elevator offering views of the city. Today, Baixa is a bustling, modern center with a mix of retail shops, restaurants, and offices, while still retaining a sense of its historical grandeur.
Príncipe Real is a trendy and picturesque neighborhood in Lisbon, Portugal, known for its blend of historical charm and contemporary vibrancy. The area has become one of Lisbon's most fashionable districts, popular with both locals and expatriates due to its relaxed atmosphere, boutique shops, stylish cafés, and lively restaurants. One of the neighborhood’s main features is Jardim do Príncipe Real, a lush public garden surrounded by historic buildings, where locals gather for leisurely strolls or outdoor events. The area is also home to several cultural venues, art galleries, and vintage stores, which add to its bohemian and artistic vibe.
The Basilica of Saint Mary Major of Lisbon, or Sé de Lisboa, is the metropolitan cathedral and patriarchal seat of the city of Lisbon, Portugal. Its construction began in 1148, one year after Afonso Enriques conquered the city. It is considered the oldest church in Lisbon. Alfama is closely associated with Fado, the traditional Portuguese music genre, and many Fado restaurants and intimate venues can be found in the neighborhood. The area is also home to important landmarks like the São Jorge Castle, the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), and the National Pantheon. Despite being a popular tourist destination, Alfama has a strong sense of local identity and is known for its tight-knit community, traditional shops, and eateries serving authentic Portuguese cuisine.

It offers stunning panoramic views of Lisbon and the Tagus River, combining a profound history with scenic beauty. This place is a testament to Lisbon's rich history and cultural heritage, making it a must-see for anyone exploring the city's historical sites.
Graça is a traditional and vibrant neighborhood in Lisbon, Portugal, known for its rich history, narrow cobbled streets, and breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Located on one of Lisbon’s seven hills, it offers a mix of old-world charm and modern-day appeal, with a strong sense of local community. The area is famous for its historical landmarks, such as the Graça Church and the National Pantheon, as well as its lively atmosphere, with numerous cafes, restaurants, and viewpoints (miradouros) that attract both locals and visitors. Graça is often considered a more authentic and less touristy part of Lisbon, offering a glimpse into the city’s traditional life while being well-connected to other parts of the city. The neighborhood is a blend of old and new, with residential areas, local markets, and street art contributing to its distinct character.
The Monastery of São Vicente de Fora is located on high ground at the intersection of Lisbon's historic neighborhoods of Graça and Alfama. It is called "de fora" because, in addition to being outside the city walls, the parish on which it stood was not at that time under the jurisdiction of the Lisbon bishop.
The National Pantheon of Portugal (Panteão Nacional, in Portuguese) is located in the parish of São Vicente de Fora, Lisbon, specifically in the Church of Santa Engrácia. The current building stands on the site where a church had already been erected in 1568, by order of Infanta Maria, daughter of King Manuel I, on the occasion of the creation of the parish of Santa Engrácia.
The Chafariz de El-Rei was the first public ornamental fountain in the city of Lisbon. It was built in the 13th century during the reigns of Afonso III and Denis I, taking advantage of the excellent groundwater of Alfama.
Praça do Comércio, still commonly referred to by its former name of Terreiro do Paço, is a square in downtown Lisbon located next to the Tagus River, in the area that was the site of the palace of the kings of Portugal for about two centuries and which is now partly occupied by some government departments. It is one of the largest squares in Europe, with about 36,000 m² (180 m x 200 m).[1] The square is bordered by 79 arches.

This is a must do in Lisbon. We saw so much of the city we would not have experienced otherwise. Douglas was a great guide!
This was a great tour: very informative; easy to understand; comfortable & enjoyable! Carlos, our guide/driver was the best. As a local, he definitely knew his stuff, and even pointed out where he lived across the river! Also, we’re very grateful that he used a mic/speaker so we could better hear him. We did a Tuk Tuk tour one week before in Porto and that was not the case. In addition, he took several pics of our group at several of the stops. I highly recommend this tour! One note: the meetup point was pretty tricky, but they provided excellent directions complete with pictures.
Shorter stops. More variety Guide was excellent
Fantastic experience with Arthur! Great history, views, laughs, and overall experience. We did an hour long tour and will do a two hour + (requesting Arthur) if we ever make it back to Lisboa.
It was a wonderful late afternoon tour and our driver was extremely knowledgeable and full of fun facts about Lisbon! He took us to great viewpoints and gave us time to explore a few areas. Outstanding!
Super fun and educational! We had an amazing day with Dmytro. He was very knowledgeable about the city and history, and made this day incredible for us. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon.
We had a wonderful ride through Lisbon with our family! Arthur was absolutely perfect at explaining everything and really knew a lot about the city. He shared interesting stories and information in a very clear and fun way. He was also very friendly and social, which made the experience even more enjoyable. His English was excellent as well. We would definitely recommend Arthur for a great tour of Lisbon!
Oliver and Jose were great guides and gave us history, local information and plenty of time to photograph important sites. Our guides were friendly funny and kind what more could you ask for. Thank you for a great day.
What an amazing experience!! Our guide Carlos was so knowledgeable and had all his historical facts down! He had a great sense of humor and we learned so much. I thought 4 hrs would be to long but the time flew by. I would highly recommend.
This tour was personable and thorough. The driver gave a very detailed history of the city and showed us all parts of it. The tour was accommodating and relaxing with perfect weather.

His love of the city and his enthusiasm were infectious and made the city come alive for us. We highly recommend taking this Eco Tuk tour with Arthur!
Arthur was an incredible tour guide! He made me laugh and was very informative. I would definitely recommend.
We went out of our way to get a professional guide for the Tuk Tuk tour of Lisbon . Fortunately Arthur was our guide . He was exceptional in his knowledge of the city and shared its amazing history with us . His was one of the best guides we have ever had in our extensive travels and that’s saying a lot. I would highly recommend Eco Tuk Tuk tours and Arthur specifically . You will not be disappointed .
Tiago was fabulous and offered us a true & thorough city experience.
Meeting near the Time Out market, Hugo (our guide) was great from the start. On a very hot day, we purchased the 2 hur tour of Lisbon and had a fantastic time. Hugo reeled off fact after fact about Lisbon, where we were, where we were going and tips about making the most of our time in the city. Tuk tuk was a fun way to get round the narrow streets with some stop offs along the way. There are tons of tuk tuks around the city but would highly recommend Eco Tuk Tuk.
Amazing tour. Our guide was Arthur. He was the best! He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot about the history of Lisbon. Highly recommend!
A great way to see the city and the host Arthur was very knowledgable and fun. The viewpoint where we stopped was amazing
Arthur and Lucas were awesome tour guides. Knew their stuff. Great way to see the city
Absolutely amazing experience. Tuk tuk ride itself clean and fun. Toured 6 areas of the city while much history was given. Stopped and walked and saw beautiful historical sites. Stopped mid way and a delightful lunch with wine was provided. Our tour guide ARTHUR was amazing- friendly, fun, entertaining. provided lots of historical information.
Arthur was very knowledgeable and presented the history and character of Lisbon in an interesting and engaging way. He is an excellent driver; we felt safe on the narrow, twisting, and hilly cobblestone streets of Lisboa.
Arthur was amazing, he told us so much about the history of Lisbon. He also shared fun facts about the place, and I would thoroughly recommend him.
We enjoyed hearing the history behind the sights and landmarks we saw. Jose was an excellent guide who was upbeat and shared the history behind all the sights we saw. I highly recommend this tour!

This was a wonderful tour with our guide Gaslon. His knowledge and adeptness made this a delightful day.
We had an Old Town your with Xavi who was very friendly and knowledgeable and showed us all of the must see sights of the Old Town. The tour is thoroughly recommended particularly if like my wife you have mobility issues that do not allow you to explore Lisbon on foot
Just wrapped up an amazing 3 hour Tuk Tuk tour and it was definitely a highlight of the trip Our guide Tiago was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. Incredibly knowledgeable, full of great stories , and kept us laughing the entire time . We learned so much while having an absolute great time if you’re visiting this kind of tour is a must do. Especially if you get Tiago as your guide .
Excellent overview with a knowledgeable guide!
Our driver Raphael Santos met us at the appointed spot at the agreed to time and after introductions gave us a wonderful tour of the areas of Lisbon we had interest in seeing. The sheer volume of Tuk tuks makes parking these weird modes of transport a real challenge at the tourist hot spots but he managed quite ably. He had a couple of secrets up his sleeve and we enjoyed those surprises along with the things we had requested. Would have no problem recommending Raphael and Eco Tuk tuk tours to anyone wishing to enjoy this type of tour.
This was an excellent tour of the city. Our guide Tiago was excellent, very enthusiastic and a lot of fun while also being very informative. He took us to all of the best viewing spots. We felt very lucky. We got this guide and can't imagine a better tour.
Great experience. We were able to see all the highlights and the guides were very informative. Loved all the neighborhoods.
Great, friendly and informative
João gave us an incredible three-hour tuk-tuk tour around Lisbon that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. He was extremely kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing the city with us. Throughout the tour he was very informative and knowledgeable, pointing out landmarks, explaining the history of different neighborhoods, and answering all of our questions with enthusiasm. Even though the weather was less than ideal, João kept the experience fun and engaging and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. If you’re visiting Lisbon, we highly recommend taking a tour with João and Eco TukTuk!
Best way to see Lisbon - great experience for the family. The guides are not only knowledgeable, but fun! Our guide took us to some hidden secrets & gave us great recommendations for places to eat and must see activities (and avoid tourist traps).
Super tour of Lisbon. Carlota and Joao were great guides…knowledgeable and entertaining. We ended up at a restaurant recommended by them which was excellent. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing three-hour TukTuk tour with Lucas today! He took us through so many different parts of Lisbon, including a few special stops at really interesting places we never would’ve found on our own. Lucas was incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, and he explained everything in such a friendly, engaging way. The TukTuk itself was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious, which made the ride even better. This was the perfect introduction to Lisbon, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting. A big thank you to Lucas for giving us such a wonderful start to our trip!
Excellent one hour tour with Carlos. Carlos combined intellectual historic and contemporary Lisbon information with charm and personality, as well as professional driving ability.
Took this tour last minute as I did not envisage walking up and down Lisbon hills. Hugo Lima asked us what we wanted to see, any special request which was very nice to begin with. Hugo Lima spoke very good English, took us around the Belem area and gave us the history behind the area. He also turned into our own paparazzi and we even learnt a thing or two from him about taking photos. I thought 3 hours would be long but it was perfect, could have done 4 hours. Another consideration with eco tuk tuk was picking me up from my hotel even though it wasn't on the pickup list. Many thanks. Enjoyable trip made special.by Hugo Lima Don't hesitate, book the tour
Victor was a wonderful guide and gave us a great history of Lisbon. We would definitely book again!!
We did a 2-hour Tuk Tuk tour when we arrived in Lisbon. It was raining, which made it harder to see everything, but Diogo made up for it with his welcoming, energetic and friendly attitude. He took us all around, told us the history, and stopped so we could take pictures. Great way to get acquainted with Lisboa. Diogo was wonderful!
We had an awesome guide, GiGi, knowledgeable and kind. Told the story, waited for questions and made us feel safe and at home. Let me not forget fun, lots of laughs and easy paced tour. Love the guy. Wish him well. Took a private 3H tour. Ecco friendly, electric, quiet ride!! Peace.
Brilliant day we had a 3 hours tour and the guides were fantastic. They were knowledgeable and friendly
Our tour guide Lucs was excellent. He was informative, professional and tailored the tour to us. However, the TukTuk needs an upgrade. The seat belts were choking us and the seats weren't that comfortable.
We went on the 3-hour expert tour and were very glad we hadn't opted for the shorter tours. We had originally considered the hop-on. hop-off bus, but this was about the same price and was a private tour that we could alter with input from the guide. We visited most of the key sites in Lisbon, including a behind-the-scenes visit to see Pasteis de Nata baking made in the "original" shop. The guide gave us great insights into the history and people behind them. Although the tuk-tuk is not the most comfortable vehicle, it is great for getting a feeling of the place. Don't be tempted by an hour tour - there is a lot to see. Have already recommended Lisbon and this tour to friends and family.
