A friend and I decided to book a last-minute lesson with Rafael before heading to the airport. We had never surfed before, and the lesson was so much fun and incredibly helpful. We learned a lot and had a great time. Highly recommend!

First time surfing for both adults and kids, and we can highly recommend! Instructors were super good and great at making it fun for the kids! Victor made it easy to understand techniques and both instructors were really good helping, instructing and made sure everyone had a good time in the water, even though we were pretty a large group.

For beginners like me it was perfect because they showed us the correct way to surf and they helped us along the way by telling us when we should stand up or peddle.

Rafael is an exceptional surf coach, very patient, kind-hearted and incredibly sharp. He explains by putting himself in the student’s place, which is very rare, and he quickly catches the small details that truly improve your surfing. He immediately corrected my pop-up technique, and helped me start reading waves better, paddle efficiently, and turn faster. I learned more in my 2 sessions with him than in all my previous surf camps. I would come back to surf with him whenever I have the opportunity. Vitor is also a great and supportive instructor, and very skilled. I highly recommend to both beginners and experienced surfers ! :)

It was an easy choice choosing Tiki Surf Academy! The instructor Rafael was really welcoming. He helped me develop my skills giving me great tips and training on the beach. He was great at teaching in the water aswell, giving us the best waves possible by selecting good days to surf. The prices were very reasonable for surfboards with a great selection to choose from. I would highly recommend to a first time surfer and a higher level surfer wanting to improve on technique and skills.

SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Could not recommend this lesson more! The instructors were amazing and made it so easy and fun. Did this lesson at the beginning of April and it was the perfect temperature in the water. They provided everything we needed! HAVE TO DO THIS!

Completely rad experience! Really great coaching and gnarly waves, perfect for day time activities. Also great bars near by for food and drinks.

Came to Portugal with surfing specifically in mind. Rafael was a great help and hooked me up with a great board, so much so my father told me it was the best surfboard he has ever used. In mid-May we did not need wetsuits, though they rent those as well. We didn't take lessons, but the people taking the surf lessons from Rafael surfing next to us were arguably catching many more waves than I was. Also, compared to many beaches I've surfed as a tourist over the years, this place was pretty quiet, with little to no competition for each wave. In many other places, you compete with the local pros for waves and you end up not catching many. This place is perfect as there are plenty of waves for everyone.

Raphael was an excellent teacher with great patience. Warmly recommend his services to anyone who wants to learn how to surf!

we were there for a bachelorette party and our friends wanted to try for the first time to surf. rafael was very nice and gentle to give us information, then we had a 2 hours class with Viktor and it was perfect! he is an amazing teacher, we learnt a lot and it was also funny. Viktor always helped su to learn from our mistakes and we felt also secure and not scared. We really recommend this school if you are a beginner.

We booked a private lesson (child 8 years) to learn how to surf. It was our first time on the surfboard. The trainers were great, very professional, friendly, patient and gave us lots of tips. The tips were so good that we even managed to stand on the board in a relatively short time. We had the feeling of being safe at all times, even though we were very impressed by the height of the waves at the beginning. It was a lot of fun. We will book again and can highly recommend the school!!!

Instructor was very helpful and attentive, and the beach was gorgeous. My wife and I had a blast surfing. I had surfed a bit before and my wife had not, so they helped her and she was able to get up and catch waves!
