It was great driving through the streets of Lisbon. There was confusion as to where to meet. The address was not clear. Since having to meet with someone from the company the cruise port would have been a far better meeting place with less confusion. The traffic was extremely bad. We didn’t stop at the monastery because of it and it was a point of interest we really wanted to see. But we would recommend this excursion it’s a fun little car and it gets lots glances as we drove by. Fun day

Itinerary
São Jorge Castle (Castelo de São Jorge) is one of Lisbon’s most emblematic landmarks. The silhouette of the Castle stands out both by day and when illuminated at night, located on the summit of São Jorge hill, the highest in Lisbon. The hillside also houses two of the city’s neighbourhoods called Alfama and Castelo. A small fortress was built by the Visigoths during the fifth century. It was modified and enlarged by the Moors in the mid-eleventh century and during the reign of Afonso I of Portugal (1109 – 1185), it was altered and in later years transformed into a Royal Palace. Finally, it was completely restored in 1938.
The Jerónimos Monastery, also called Hieronymites Monastery, one of the most visited sites in Lisbon. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1983. This landmark is called Mosteiro dos Jerónimos in Portuguese. The religious building was designed by the Portuguese architect Diogo de Boitaca to commemorate the return of Vasco da Gama from India. The construction began on 6 January 1501 and wasn’t completed until the seventeenth century. The building is predominantly Manueline style (Portuguese late Gothic). Curiously, the monastery was built on the site of the former Ermida do Restelo, the chapel where Vasco da Gama and the rest of the sailors prayed before setting sail down the African coast to India.
Alfama is one of Lisbon’s most genuine neighborhoods – its architecture presents the unique characteristics of old and colorful buildings that give it a joyful character and tranquility.
A symbol of Portuguese identity, the National Pantheon is an emblematic monument that welcomes and honors the great men and women to whom the country owes its recognition. A memory that perpetuates and symbolizes the highest posthumous honor granted in Portugal. Let's discover it?
Praça do Comércio, Commerce Square in English, is Lisbon’s main square. It was built on the site where the old Royal Palace used to exist before it was destroyed by the earthquake of 1755. The southern end of the plaza is open and looks out onto the Tagus River. The other three sides have yellow-coloured buildings with arcades all along the façade. When the square was first built, the commercial ships would unload their goods directly onto this square, as it was considered the “door” to Lisbon. On the river bank, near the square, is the Cais de Sodré ferry terminal from which several ferries depart down the Tagus River.
The Church and Monastery of São Vicente de Fora is one of the historic buildings of the Portuguese capital, in honor of the city's patron saint since 1173: São Vicente. The origins of the Monastery of São Vicente are very old (here the troops of D. Afonso Henriques would have been camped when the important take of Lisbon to the Moors, in 1147), however the present building was built between 1582 and 1629,
Without a doubt a Fado is a must see for people visiting Lisbon! Fado is a music genre truly born within the soul of the Portuguese people. It is a story about Portuguese history, and whilst many different types of Fado exist they are all characterised by their mournful melodies and melancholic lyrics. All of this is loosely expressed by the word ‘saudade’. Saudade expresses nostalgia and the idea of ‘longing’. Fado definitely makes you feel something when listening to it, and is definitely an experience that we highly recommend!
The Belém Tower (Torre de Belém) was built between 1514 and 1520 in a Manuelino style by the Portuguese architect and sculptor Francisco de Arruda. It was classified as a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. Constructed on the northern bank of the Tagus River, this tower was used to defend the city. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse and customs house

My sister and I enjoyed the Electric Car Tour very much. Great fun! We highly recommend the experience! Thank you!
Safe eco-friendly with Stop & go when we wanted. The car attracts lots of attention! The vehicle was good for two people and we had a great day!
Highly recommend, a fun, easy and safe way to see so much of Lisbon. Tour operator was great, we had a little trouble navigating back, ended up late with almost no charge left but the tour guide was understanding. 5 Stars for sure!!
Great way to have quick overview on places to go, at our own pace. Kinda scary to drive in lisbon but you get the hang of it soon after, and the ride to Belem was scenic. Wish it been longer so we could have spend the time at the coast. Also, the guide is super friendly and nice!
I am a larger person and could not get in car. Car company said they would give half refund but VIATOR would give nothing.
Eco Tours provide a great way to wizz around Lisbon at your leisure. Rui met us as arranged and explained everything and even recommended where we could stop for lunch. We are a couple in our 60s! And although the ride wasn't the most comfy, it was certainly a fantastic way to see Lusbon. We actually covered quite a vast area. The audio guide (in English) was really informative and interesting. Just go for it! A really 5 star experience. Rui was so friendly, helpful and extremely professional. Muito Obrigada Rui! Enjoy the tour
This is such an excellent way to experience Lisbon. You can cover so much in half a day. Definitely beats getting the train to Belem or getting a Segway/Escooter around the City. This is the way to travel!!! People will stare at you in awe and jealousy because it just looks so much fun!! I cannot recommend this activity enough. Rui & Maria were also so very helpful and patient with us (as we struggled to understand how to drive them 🤣) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Everything worked out perfectly, He was so nice explaining everything to us and the tour is great, stress- free, you choose where you want to stop and stroll around and where not. We stopped at the cyprus tree and tower of belem, ate the famous pastel de belem (yummy) and walked around Los Jeronimos. The car is so much fun and simple and easy to drive. Great way to check all the sightseeing off your list but stay independent and flexible and have fun. Great memory! Thank you!
The car ran very well. The GPS operated correctly. Our main contact was extremely kind and helpful, even though we were running late arriving and leaving. He even helped me find a belt when I realized I forgot mine at home! Extremely good experience and highly recommended, as long as you’re comfortable driving on the hilly cobblestone streets of Lisbon.
This was such good fun. The tour reps were really helpful and explained how the routes work, places worth stopping etc. I was a little nervous but other drivers were really considerate and lots of people waved and smiled to see the cute little Renault Twizy. It’s very nippy and at no point did I feel at a disadvantage compared to other road vehicles. There’s no air con but it has open windows - very useful on a hot August day. Much more fun than hiring a standard small car and being electric it’s environmentally friendly. Highly recommended.
We walked around Lisbon the first day we got here and our feet and legs were killing. Lisbon is full of steep hills. We saw two couples riding these electric cars and laughing their sides off. Asked them where they got them. We were very close to the shop so we stopped in and fortunately we booked it for the next day. Best thing we did. The managers Rui and Ana were very kind and patient. They explained how the car works slowly so we can do it on our own. The car is very easy to drive. Plus the GPS gives highlights and tips. We have no patience for long winded tour guides. The GPS gave us just the right amount of history we needed. Parking is free and sooo convenient. Belem is far from the city. Renting the car saved us if we took a taxi or uber. Book in advance. They only have seven cars
We took part in a cruise on the ms Koningsdam and we docked at the newest port facility: Jardim do Tabaco, located in the northern part of the city and it’s the closest to the city centre. Walking distance is 20 minutes to centre. As Lisbon is a large town and built over different hills (stunning views) along the lovely embankment parks and monumental buildings, we opted to rent a little car. There are also e-bikes or tuktuk services available or the large double decker busses Hopon/off. As the city centre has many narrow streets, the large busses are not able to go there. So we choose the car service, this provided us a way to see more in the short amount of time and as GPS is part of the rental service, you will receive an education along your ride! I tried to contact 3 different companies and only Lisbon Eco Tours followed up and provided the best possible service: extremely customer focused & professional. They offered to rent a Renault Twizy and it is a fun car and completely electric, runs up to 80 km p/hr and takes easily two adults up the hill. We had plenty of stops and alternated our tour where we needed to change it. As there is a lot of traffic, you just need to follow other traffic and it is actually not intimidating at all. Expect to become an attraction yourself as many people will take a photo. After the 4 hour tour with stops, we had lunch at a local restaurant (taken there by our request by the owners of the company) and ordered the typical local food & wine. I would do this any time again whenever I will return to Lisbon. Also Lisbon is spread out with lots of public space (parks & squares), we did not feel squeezed into the city, although the city attracted many visitors. Locals are really open, friendly and welcoming.

This was a fantastic trip that allows you to explore a great city at your own pace. My wife and I really enjoyed the day. The shop start of tour is easy to find, the staff are really helpful, we got caught in a little traffic and got back 20 mins late and that was fine. We shall do this again when we are next back in Lisbon. What a great city and tour.

First of all, it is very funny to drive the Twizy and secondly, the GPS route takes you past many highlights of Lisbon and gives you an idea of the city. So you can see where you want to go later
Great experience! Thank you to the gentleman who explained everything to us and who knew how to put us at ease! It’s a must do!
Super fun way to discover Lisbon, drive along the most famous hotspots of Lisbon via the GPS . Recommended for young and old .👍🏻
Excellent compromise between comfort, freedom of movement, interest of the places visited and price. It is worth noting the extreme courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. In our case, we had booked a 3-hour tour in the afternoon but due to a flight delay we were only able to have the car for two hours. The next day, reviewing, the lady who was in the shop offered us to continue the tour letting us use the car for almost two hours. It's a very fun way to get around town. You can park easily, go down to visit the places of interest and even, if you want, deviate from the recommended routes and resume them thanks to GPS. On balance the price is affordable.
Great Service, friendly staff with great tips. Perfect for a nice sightseeing day even to the more remote places.
An excellent afternoon discovering Lisbon at the wheel of the little twizy. Very practical, easy parking, the only downside is the shock absorbers of the twizy... We took the tour from 3h to 69€, this allowed us to make several stops to admire a view from the top of a viewpoint, the tower of Belem and then a stop to taste the famous Pasteis de Belem! All this had been very well advised by the manager! Explanations in English or Portuguese. We will keep a memorable memory of this excursion!
We had a lot of fun today with the electric cars. The staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. You will clearly be provided with all the explanations and they will do everything to give you the best tour. The tours are really great, especially to drive a car. The narrow and hilly streets are no problem for these cars and you can easily park anywhere. Definitely recommended! Thanks for the top experience!
We hire the most complete experience. There are 4 of us and we took 2 cars. The driving is very easy are automatic, and also the traffic in Lisbon was respectful to us.The person who attended us was very friendly and because it was somewhat cold, left us a jacket and a blanket. If you go in winter you better be warm, the car has no windows. It gave us time to go to Belém and also tour part of the city. Highly recommended.
