What an incredible day! The tastings , the lunch & the boat ride filled the whole day with delights for the belly & eyes. Our van driver/guide Ricardo was a treat to be with and facilitated a perfect day for our group. Also, was super helpful with questions we had about the rest of our time in Portugal!! I would really recommend visiting the Douro Valley with a small group to enjoy the tranquillity and the beauty of the landscape. Ricardo is a perfect host, very knowledgeable of the area and has prepared a nice selection for the Porto wine, Douro wines and Olive oil tasting options.

We had an amazing day with Ricardo & Miguel on our tour through the Douro Valley. The views were amazing, lunch was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our port & olive oil tasting. Would highly recommend! We were happy to have such knowledgeable guides - especially for the windy valley roads!

The whole experience was perfect! The driver and tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He drove safely through the hills while giving us interesting information about the region. The amount of people in our group was perfect for the tour. We really enjoyed the wine and olive oil tasting and the staff at each winery were very entertaining and friendly. The restaurant food was very tasty and the chef came by to introduce himself and make sure everything was to our liking. The views of the region were amazing and our guide, Alex, made a special stop to allow us to take more pictures. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

We sign up for a trip max 15 pers. to the Douro valley, 2x vineyards, lunch and boat trip on the river. Then Nuno and Ricardo picjed us up at our appartement and we discovered we were the only ones for the trip. Throughly recommend this tour! João Jesus is a top-notch operator and guide. Lunch was awesome at a small-town family restaurant, authentic Portuguese! The two wine tastings were very impressive and we learned a lot about port. In fact, Porto Tonic is now our new go-to drink, replacing G&T. Everywhere we went, João seemed to know everybody else. An amazing experience.

Alex was a great guide. The lunch & 2 wineries we visited were top notch. Could have done without the river cruise as it added an extra hour to a long day. All in all a very beautiful day! Thank you Alex. You are the best driver!

Awsome trip. Great scenery with an excellent knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable wine tasting and a traditional lunch in a quaint little village away from the crowds. My wife who does not drink wine enjoyed the trip for the scenery and views.

Our tour guide George was fantastic. He made the day extra special. This is a great tour to see the Douro Valley, enjoy spectacular views, great wine and olive oil.

Clara was thee best tour guide ever! She was truly a great host throughout the day. The views were stupendously gorgeous! I would do it all over again. Douro Valley is teeming with magnificent views. The river tour was also very peaceful.

A lovely day and well worth the money. The tour guide, Vas, was easy , pleasant company a really safe driver (in case anyone is worried)..A Small group of 8 people of various nationalities who mixed well and everyone had a great time. The meal in the middle of the day was superb, the tours were good, especially the second one to the boutique vineyard and olive farm...It's a 90 minute drive from Porto, but well worth the trip. Most people slept all the way home.

The landscape of the Douro valley is just beautiful and remarkable. This experience of having a small group is also very nice because you don’t feel herded and you get to spend a fair amount of time at each stop.

Highly recommend this tour! The scenery in the Douro Valley is second to none, and we tried some stunning food and wine during the day. Our guide Jorge was fantastic and made the experience very fun.

Our driver and lead host, Sandra, was so great. Knowledgeable, friendly, interested in guests, caring and fun! She has some wonderful playlists for the van drive. We had some special needs for my friend who uses a cane and she was very accommodating. Thanks for making our experience so memorable.

Wine tasting and the wiew are tha main issues on in thr Douro Vallley .Being in two very different quintas was a good choice. Karla our guide is the perfect tourist guide and and also a very good driver. And you really need a good driver in yhis valley.

I had an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide was Carla and she was truly amazing. She was incredibly friendly and if it wasn’t for her, our experience wouldn’t have been as great as it was. We have been on many tours but it was hands down the best one we ever went on. MAKE SURE if you are in the Porto area you book with this company and if you are lucky enough, have Carla as your tour guide. She made our entire group smile from beginning to end and made the experience something we would never forget.

Great trip to the Douro Valley with Brahim - excellent driver, and very informative and thoughtful tour guide. We saw everything that was advertised & more! He looked after us well. Douro Valley is a long drive, makes for a long day, but well worth it! Scenery is not to be missed - and neither are the wine tastings!

Booked the Douro Valley trip for 6 people and showed up well ahead of the required meetup time. Once our driver arrived we were told that our reservation was only registered for 2 people despite already having paid for 6 spots - and having 6 valid tickets from the GetYourGuide site. Somehow this company messed up the booking. We spent the better part of an hour on the phone trying to convince the company to solve this issue - without any resolution. All in all a terrible experience as we booked the trip as a family in good time and we’re hoping to go on this trip as the highlight of our vacation - however, the company deprived us of this experience due to their poorly managed bookings.

We had a magical time, and our guide, Joao, was fantastic! The olive oil museum and winery was a particularly lovely piece of the trip. The Sandeman stop was nice, but would have been more enjoyable to go to a smaller and more obscure vineyard

- Guide/driver was a cool guy. - Good that they picked us up from accommodation. On time, great comms. - Advertised as two wineries, went to one and an olive oil place. - First winery was sandeman, tour with 40 other people and tasting of only 2x most base level port. Minimal you could pay for at the venue was 3x so this felt short on quality. - stopped at local lunch venue, cheap, not very good food, not a nice place, wine was very Poor quality and acidic. - third place was olive oil tasting with a bit of wine, overall better quality than the sandeman visit, again part of a very large group. -Boat tour was okay, one hour around in a small boat, not much of a tour there. Fun experience overall but not a real wine tasting. Guide was pretty good and engaged. Would recommend going for a more expensive one if available.

Amazing tour. Carla was our tour guide and she was part of the reason why It was phenomenal. She was a safe driver considering the winding roads and tough traffic. She was very knowledgeable of the valley. The tour was worth every dollar. The wineries were outstanding. Lunch is optional but recommend getting It since she will take you to an authentic Portuguese restaurant for 15 euros a person, It was substantial amount of food and wine. The boat ride was stunning. The views were amazing. The valley is gorgeous and recommend anyone to go.

There was no time when we weren’t thrilled with the trip to the Douro Valley! The ride was pleasant and the sights were magnificent! Lunch although not planned ahead was superb. It was Easter and most places were closed. John got us into the Restaurante and the meal was great. John made sure we had a coffee break for us and was solicitous of our every need.

Milena and dianna were the most lovely and knowledgeable tour guides I’ve been with. Your tour will start with a hotel pick up and a wine tour to the Porto wines. After that, a wonderful lunch (not included) and boat ride to see the beautiful Douro Valley at its true beauty. The last winery is truly breathtaking, and surely a must winery to sit, relax, take in the view, and sip some wine. Milena was extraordinary and couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Best in Porto and a must do when visiting Portugal.

NOT RECOMMENDED! This company is a SHAM. This was such a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and such a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! SHADY BUSINESS TACTICS!!!!! Overall, this tour is a WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Most of the time, you sit around either on the tour van or at the venues. The boat ride was shorter than advertised and it was BORING! The scenery was nothing spectacular, unless you enjoy staring at hills and still water. You only get a few wine tasting. Might as well buy your own wine bottles and drink. LUNCH WAS NOT PROVIDED AS ADVERTISED. At the beginning when we were picked up from our hotel, the driver [who is a friend of the business owner he said] confirmed with us that we would be provided lunch. During the middle of the trip, we were informed by the driver that we would not be provided lunch. He told us he could drop us off in area with a lot of shops so we could eat, so we opted for that. He did not tell us that the businesses always close for a few hours each day. We had nothing to eat besides food from the only liquor store that was open; all we ate were crackers!!! Everyone in our tour group was very upset and angry. When we booked the tour, it said it included lunch! The other group said they saw the same thing. When we investigated, we noticed the ticket changed to no lunch without our knowing, after the fact. I had taken screenshots of the deal when we booked, and it said lunch. This is terrible business!!! We didn’t even stay long in this country and we wasted a lot of time sitting around.

This is a fabulous trip. It was overcast today and still magnificent. Our driver Carla picked us up exactly on time at the hotel. This is a small group tour so besides my husband and me, there were only 6 others on the tour. The view as we approached Douro valley became more spectacular wth every km. Our first stop was a boat trip on the Douro River which lasted about an hour and was relaxing and beautiful. Next, we drove up a steep and winding road to a small vinery where we tasted white, rose and red wine, then some honey, locally pressed olive oil and bread. We had a tour of an olive oil museum by a guide who was only on her second day and did a wonderful job. The view from the winery is awe-inspiring. I can’t comment on the lunch as I didn’t have it, but choose to check out the town of Sobrosa instead. Two interesting facts about this town; it’s the birthplace of Ferdinand Magellan and also has a park named after BB King! After lunch, we tried 3 port wines (a 10, 20 and 30 year old). They are available for purchase. Due to an accident on the highway on our return to Porto, Carla skillfully navigated an alternative scenic route to bypass the scene of the accident. It was a great day and very well coordinated by the company. Highly recommend.

Really poor quality in terms of a tour and winery selection. The boat ride is a joke that one can easily do on their own. Tour isn’t worth the money in this day and age where information is easily available online and access to such wineries aren’t limited since most people can drive or take a train there

I was so impressed with this company! I am travelling on my own and very much wanted to join this tour as I had seen it on GetYourGuide however that would only allow a minimum booking of 2 people. I emailed the company direct and got a very quick response and they were able to book me in for the next morning! The tour guide Sergio was so great and really made the day even better with his knowledge of the area. We were a small group of 8 and that was just the perfect size! The cruise was great, the wine tastings and lunch even better! The lunch was not included however at a cost of €15 which included at least a few glasses of wine each and a three course meal at a winery which was absolutely delicious, it was definitely worth the extra cost. I’m so glad I was able to book last minute for this tour as it has been the highlight of my time in Portugal thus far!

This tour was very fun! We were picked up on time outside of our Airbnb in a very comfortable Mercedes van and given water. After picking up the other travelers, we began our 1.5 hour journey to the Douro where we had the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful views ever! Our first stop was at the Peso da Régua where we had the chance to stretch our legs, use the bathroom, grab a quick espresso and see the beautiful views from the bridge. We then got back into the van for a quick 20 minute ride to the boat dock. The boat was very comfortable and cute, offering wine and chips during the hour ride along the river. After the boat ride, we drove about 20 minutes to our first winery/olive oil shop that offered the most beautiful views of the valley! We got to see how the olive oil is made, try some olive oil with almonds and bread, and taste several wines, all while surrounded by the best view. Our next stop was lunch where we enjoyed many wonderful courses while sitting in the shade next to a lovely vineyard. Before leaving, we tasted port wines made there and had the opportunity to buy some if we wanted. Then we hopped back into the van for our ride home where our tour guide took us back to our hotels or Airbnbs. Overall, this was a great tour. However, I wish we had learned more about the Douro Valley and the vineyards there. Our tour guide - although very nice, friendly, and funny - did not offer much information about the Douro Valley's history. We overheard another tour guide from a different company explaining the history and found it very fascinating and would loved to have learned more from our guide. My one suggestion for this tour company is to teach the guides some information about the Douro to provide to the guests. Our tour guide had only been working there a few months, so maybe he was still learning about the Douro Valley as well. I was still very happy to have him as our guide! He was always checking that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. I still strongly recommend this tour and had such a fun day and saw some of the most beautiful views possible!

I was booked with Inmotion tour, a recommendation from our inn keeper in Porto. They were over sold, so transferred us to Meridian4 People without letting us know ahead of time. This was the worst 240€ I had ever spent. The guide, Manuel, was awful. He had only been doing tours for the past month, new to the industry, with absolutely no training. He knew nothing about Douro valley, ports or wines. He is only doing "this" to support his interior decorating store. Furthermore, regarding the tour, we only went to super touristy places. If you want a romantic, intimate setting, dont use this company. We received no information. The food was awful and the Port was worse. Super disappointed and a waste of a day. Choose a different company!

My husband and I booked a tour last minute and it ended up being our highlight of our entire trip! Meridian makes it so easy by picking you up and dropping off at your hotel. We went to amazing vineyards with breathtaking views. The best part of the tour was our guide Milena. She’s very funny, kind, and knowledgeable about the region. I had the best time chatting with her and she made sure everyone on the tour was taken care of and having a good time. She even gave us an email to contact her if we needed recommendations for the rest of the trip. Make sure to request Melina!

Nice overall day trip from Porto to Douro Valley. Picked up at apt where we were staying. Visited two wineries with the second where we had lunch. Lunch was not included in price. Before wine tastings, we went on a 45 min boat ride along the Douro river which was nice for photo ops. Winery chosen was a smaller producer but nice set up and quick tour of facility. Lunch was nice but with other tour companies, so it was a big production. These type of tours are dependent on tour guide -Micael was great!- and other ppl on tour. Our group ended up bonding over lunch and ended up being so much fun! Would recommend taking tour to get deeper perspective of wine region other than Port Wine tours in Porto.

We highly highly recommend this tour, particularly if you're lucky enough to get Carla as your guide and driver. She spoke great english and was very friendly and funny and gave us lots of info along the drive. We were picked up on time in a very stylish Mercedes van and had a small group of just 6 people. The drive is 1.5hrs each way and is incredibly scenic once youre out of the city surrounds and before you know it you're there. The 1hour cruise was a great length and you'll see the most stunning vineyards, olive and fruit orchards along the riverbank. Both places we stopped for tastings were divine and offered breath taking views! We do not typically join tours but who wants to drive when there's wine tastings up for grabs! We also felt that the price was very reasonable given everything included in the package, I really don't think you could experience the same quality for less. Additionally we would never have ventured to the places we got to see if we were not in this tour which we're very grateful for. Thank you Carla and Meridian tours for a fabulous day trip, it really was the highlight of our Porto stay!
