We had a tour of Lisbon with Nunu and it was awesome. The knowledge he shared with us was amazing. He was so Passionate about his country and shared that love throughout the day with us. My daughter is physically challenged and he was respectful and so helpful with being able to arrange the best way she could either walk or use her wheelchair. The best tour I’ve ever had. The day flew and was seamless. I highly recommend the company and especially Nunu

Lots of fun. You will learn a lot! Recommend this tour highly. Lisbon is a beautiful city enjoy it as much as you can.
The experience was extremely disappointing and, more importantly, became frightening because of the driver’s conduct and the way we were ultimately left without transportation back to our hotel. Our original booking confirmation stated that our hotel pickup time was 8:20 a.m. When I called to confirm the tour, I was told the pickup would be 8:30 a.m. The day before the tour, I received a text message advising that the pickup time had been changed to 8:50 a.m. We accepted this change without complaint. However, the driver, who introduced himself as Tony, did not arrive until approximately 9:25 a.m. In total, there were six passengers in the vehicle: Tony, one man in the front passenger seat, two women in the middle row, and my husband, daughter and me in the back. From the beginning, it was apparent that this was not proceeding like the 8-hour guided tour we had booked. Tony provided virtually no information about Lisbon or the attractions we were supposed to visit. Instead, he drove around for approximately one hour, including driving down into a parking garage and then back out again, before taking us to a gas station for a bathroom stop. None of the passengers had requested a bathroom stop. At the gas station, the man who had been sitting in the front passenger seat became so upset with the situation that he left the tour. He told us that this was not what he had paid for. He left without even telling Tony that he was leaving. We eventually arrived in the Belém area at approximately 10:30 a.m. We specifically asked Tony to take us to the monuments, and he agreed. We walked around the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries until approximately 11:10 a.m. When we returned to the vehicle, we asked to be taken to another attraction from our itinerary, including the Jerónimos Monastery. Tony said that he would take us there, but instead began driving around Lisbon again. For approximately the next 50 minutes, he drove erratically without explaining where we were going. When we repeatedly asked where we were headed, he told us that there was not enough time. When we questioned why there wasn’t enough time, his response was essentially, “Because I said so.” He also repeatedly turned the music up while we were trying to communicate with him. Most concerningly, we witnessed him driving through red traffic lights. This made us feel genuinely unsafe. Eventually, at approximately noon, he drove to the hotel where the two women passengers were staying. Both women were visibly upset about the experience as well. Tony opened the vehicle door and told us to get out. Our hotel was on the opposite side of Lisbon. We had no idea where we were, and Tony did not take us back to our booked hotel despite the tour arrangements specifying hotel pickup and drop-off. We were therefore forced to order and pay for an Uber to get ourselves back to our hotel. What was supposed to be an approximately eight-hour guided tour had effectively ended after only a few hours, with almost none of the advertised itinerary completed. We received no meaningful guided tour, did not visit the attractions that were included in our booking, and were ultimately left in an unfamiliar location. I want to emphasize that our concern is not simply that the tour was shortened or that we missed attractions. The driving behaviour and the way passengers were treated made this a frightening experience. I immediately contacted Railbookers to report what happened. They did provide us with a full refund.
The Tour of Lisboa was fabulous--partly because it's such a storied and beautiful world-class city but even more because Antonio/Tony was the best guide I've ever had. Such a bright and articulate and energized Historian he is! Oh yes, and also warm and so likeable. I hope he goes far, and up. Here's to Selection Tours, as well. Dave M., Sept.11, '26.
An excellent way to get to know the city of Lisbon—personalized, professional service with comprehensive knowledge of the history behind every point of interest... Ines was one of the best guides of our trip; we would happily repeat the experience with her. Thanks for everything! 🩷
I had an amazing tour experience with Filipa. She was easygoing and easy to talk to, and has such a vast wealth of knowledge about the geography and history of Portugal/Lisbon. I really enjoyed getting to see the very different sides of Lisbon, from the old-town feel of the city center to the ultra-modern Parque das Nações.
Guide Annabelle provides excellent care and professional guidance during the whole trip. Very happy withe the trip.
If you have only one day in Lisbon, take this tour. You get every highlight and then some. Our tour guide was awesome and provided information that we would not have otherwise known.
Staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable. Hit so amazing sights!
We enjoyed our trip yesterday to Sintra, Cascais and Admission to the Pena Palace. Our guide Lorezo was very nice and polite during the trip. He was very knowledge of the places we visited. He showed great expertise in what he does and his communication skills in the English language was vast and fluently.
My tour of Lisbon was excellent and for my first visit, it was the best way to see the highlights of the city. My guide was Hugo. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything so well and answered all my questions. He was an excellent guide, and I had a most enjoyable day. The team at Selection Tours did a great job in organizing my tour and communicating with me and I would highly recommend them.
A great day. Was supposed to be small group but due to low season was only me so was like a private tour. Lourenço was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Was flexible also and we were able to choose some options which worked out great. Enjoyed the day.
We took this tour with one other couple. Our tour guide was Rui, a history professor who was very knowledgeable and approachable about answering questions. He took us to many of the highlights of the city including monuments, palaces, churches and neighborhoods. We learned about the extremely rich cultural, political and explorational triumphs of Lisbon and Portugal. Well worth the price.
Joao was incredible! He perfectly encapsulated Lisbon for us and even adapted our tour to the weather. It was the perfect way to spend our 1 full day in Lisbon.
tour guide spent too much time telling us about her political feelings. She was also very insulting when we told her about our plans to tour Sintra on a Viator tour the following day
Fantastic day exploring Lisbon with Lawrenco. He was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable ensuring we got to see the best of Lisbon. This trip was such a great way to see the highlights of the city within a limited space of time. We would highly recommend this tour and spending a day with Lawrenco to everyone visiting Lisbon. Thank you again Lawrenco.
The Best of Lisbon lives up to its name. You will see a wide variety of sites and architecture. This tour covers many different sections of historic and modern Lisbon. Our tour guide, Ines, shared her love of history and her personal Portuguese culture. I highly recommend this tour company and itinerary.
Excellent experience and tour was longer than we had expected but definitely appreciated. Recommend it to anyone looking to learn some local history and explore areas they may not find on their own.
We were upgraded to a private tour after a cancellation and it was a fantastic day . Joel our guide was informative, ready to discuss life and culture from a Portuguese perspective whilst giving us great insight into the history of Lisbon. He responded to our interests and gave us a truly memorable day.
Very knowledgeable tour guide on the history of Portugal.we were driven to many areas of Lisbon and then had short walks to view the sites in that area
I really enjoyed this tour in Lisbon! Filipa was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of interesting facts about both the main sights and the hidden gems along the way. She suggested the most beautiful photo spots, took time for pictures, and even helped capture some great shots herself. The itinerary was very well planned, with smooth driving that avoided traffic and even the long queues at the monastery (we still got to see the church section!). I also loved the pastel de nata stop, which made the day even sweeter. Overall, it was a seamless and memorable experience, and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon or Belém.
Phillipa was a great guide who showed us the sites of lisbon and gave us the history of the places with great passion for the city & country. Also an amazing driver around a chaotic city, and took us to places we would never have found. Really enjoyable.
Our guide took us so many places off the beaten path just as we like. She tailored the trip to things we were interested in. Had some great local food & SWEETS! And so many laughs.
Filipa was an excellent guide, very warm, friendly and with excellent knowledge of the city and history. Her driving skills were impressive in the Lisbon traffic and we felt safe all the time. The trip was varied and felt relaxed despite the fact that we covered a lot of ground.
Sunday morning the church is closed for mass. Good way to get an overview and the whole city and the different neighborhoods.
Fillipa was an excellent tour guide. Picked us up at our hotel right on time with a lovely Sprinter van. Saw the great sights of Lisbon had a great morning topped off with a stop at Pasteis de Belem. In the afternoon saw more of Lisbon, all of the great views along with the history of the sites and a terrific authentic lunch. All in all was a terrific day
Filipa was amazing. A variety of sights and experiences. Fun and interesting information and great food stops. We had an excellent day.
Nuno gave us an excellent tour of Lisbon, sharing the history and explaining the various sites and neighborhoods. We highly recommend this tour. He's a great driver on these narrow roads. A great way to be introduced to Lisbon.
We had the absolute best tour guide, Noon noon. He took us all over Lisbon with incredible kindness and patience. Growing up in Lisbon and his historical knowledge, he answered every question with impeccable detail. Just an amazing man, doing what he loves. I highly recommend this company and particularly this guide.
The Guider is very knowledgable, nice, and friendly. We have learned a lot and really enjoyed. It was very efficient and saved us a lot of time.
Hugo was a fantastic guide. He provided excellent historical context to everything we saw. He began a narrative the beginning of the tour and concluded it at the end. He was amazing and we appreciate his knowledge and willingness to educate us. His English is excellent.
We went on a group tour on Friday, it ended up been just me and my partner which made it all the better , the tour was fantastic and the guide was even better , he was very passionate when speaking about the history he clearly enjoys, he was very knowledgeable......I would highly recommend this tour many times over 😀
Luis was the most outstanding guide I’ve ever experienced. Hooray!! First time in Portugal and we were treated with the sites and history…
Very good tour with Luis. See all the things without all the walking or steps. Really good for Seniors or anyone who has mobility issues. Luis was very knowledgeable about his city. Everyone in Portugal is so nice & polite. Highly recommend this tour.
Lorenco and Nunu were our tour guides for the day and they both did an outstanding job sharing with us the history of Lisbon and Portugal. We were immersed in the culture for the day and the tour gave us a real sense of the city. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking about it.
We had a wonderful day getting to know Lisbon with Luis S as our guide! The tour was interesting, well paced, and his knowledge of the city’s history and sites was excellent! Luis made our full day Lisbon tour one we will remember for a long time to come!
It was a great trip. Thanks to Dtravco in India to have choosen this tour. The Guide and locations were great.
Our guide Lucia was very helpful and knowledgeable. Because our group occupied the whole van, we were able to customize the time and sights we wanted to see at our own pace.
Convenient on time pickup at hotel. Small group was flexible and we were able to see a good overview of Lisbon. Very pleased with tour and fun guide who was very knowledgeable.
Poor audio. Poor group communication. Poor attention to key tour interest points. Guide inattentive to some group members.
We got to see most of Lisbon in a day. Unfortunately due to large crowds, we weren't able to go inside many of the historical sites. Our guide, Lucia, was fantastic!
Lovely day in Lisbon with Lucia our guide. We saw all the highlights of Lisbon. She was very considerate of our limited mobility issues.
This guide was not prepared. He took us three places that were closed and he didn’t know thiis. This trip was on a Monday and I can’t believe he didn’t check to see if the museum and restaurant he wanted to go was open.
This tour was not what we expected. The guide showed us everything only from outside and did not even accompany us to Belem tower or Monument of Discoveries. He told us to visit by ourselves. He rattled off his history knowledge all day long. The absolute WORST part of the day was when he drove us to the modern side of Lisbon and left us there for 45 minutes by ourselves when there was practically nothinf to do there. Total waste of our time and money. We want atleast a partial refund of our money.
Our guide Joao was super knowledgeable and pleasant. We got to see many of the main sights in Lisbon. Having transportation meant not having to trudge up and down Lisbon's many hills. This is the ideal way to see the maximum number of sights with the least amount of effort. Well worth it. He even dropped us off at a place more convenient than the original place. Highly recommend.
João is the best! Enjoy your day with this amazing local guide in a comfortable, air conditioned seven passenger van. It's balanced well with between walking and driving with João's detailed historical insights, city highlights, and laughs along the way. He's considerate of questions, interests, timing, and group desire to stay or move along. Best of all, this gent discreetly bypasses the long queues into the city's hotest spots. João is the poetry of Portugal in motion.
Our tour guide was Joao Crespo. He was professional and knowledgeable beyond compare . He arrived on time and ensured that everyone's needs were met from start to finish . He made our experience in Lisbon very memorable . Highly recommend Select Tours and Joao Crespo.
Excellent tour of Lisbon. Our guide, Valerio, was very good, and exceeded our expectations. Every visitation to every site was one we will never forget. If you love history, culture and want to truly learn about Lisbon, definitely ask for Valerio. He is very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and personable. He made our trip to Lisbon a very special one! Thank you!
There were several good things about this tour, but also some issues. Several sights were very good, like on the waterfront, along with explanations, and the house with the story about houses in Lisbon. Unfortunately, some excursions were not available and the tour company and tour guide should have known, like Jeronimo's. It is closed on Monday and neither knew a d no arrangements were made for a suitable alternative. The Lipizzaner stallions was substituted. It turned out ok but not like what we missed. The tour guide was a little off and seemed to get irritated with customers a couple times which made it quite uncomfor at times and we had to joke around to get things back to a comfortable position. Lunch place was also closed, it was Monday so we went back downtown and were on our own, which turned out to be touristy but ok. While the traffic was bad, we visited two churches/convents on our own, and we were finished by 3:30. So, just ok. The company and guide should check to make sure what is advertised is possible or notify customers who could then select another tour or accept the changes.
Valeriot was an excellent host and guide. Also an excellent driver. His knowledge of history incredible. He brought it to life. It was a small group tour, only one other couple. The Mercedes van was clean and comfortable. We saw all of the sights listed in the description of the tour and then some. An excellent experience. We toured from historic Lisbon to a new modern Lisbon.
