Very nice day with Kat. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Started out at the tile factory and moved on from there. Two vineyards and a beach town. Overall the day was full with many stops and interesting stories. Kat did a great job.

You will cross the April 25th Bridge, which resembles the Golden Gate Bridge. This impressive and scenic suspension bridge connects the northern and southern sides of Lisbon. It was named in honor of the revolution that took place on April 25th, 1974, which ended the Salazar dictatorship.
The Azulejos de Azeitão workshop employs traditional European tile-making techniques and recreates antique designs from not only European countries but also Islamic and Chinese cultures. Here, you can explore flat hand-painted tiles as well as relief tiles featuring various color glazes, inspired by 16th-century Hispano-Moorish tiles. This workshop is one of the most renowned in the southern region of Lisbon.
You will explore the Arrábida UNESCO Park, a renowned protected area home to many unique Mediterranean plants, including olives, pistachios, strawberries, lavender, thyme, and chamomile. We will drive along the Atlantic coast, stopping at several points to enjoy breathtaking views of amazing beaches and azure waters.
Take a look at the Convento da Arrábida (Arrábida Monastery), which was founded in 1542 by Friar Martinho de Santa Maria, a Castilian Franciscan. This remarkable building is entirely isolated in the mountains.
Quinta de Catralvos is a family-owned winery that offers stunning views of its vineyards. Here, you can enjoy local wines and appetizers while being guided through the winery and cellars. You will learn about the entire wine production process, from the vine to the glass.
In the heart of Sesimbra, you can visit Santiago Fortress (Fortaleza de Santiago), which was part of Portugal’s coastal defenses and served as a summer retreat for Portuguese kings.
Experience the beautiful California beach with its soft, fine sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
Relax at the serene Ouro Beach, known for its soft, fine sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
You’ll have the opportunity to stop and explore Sesimbra, a charming fishing village on the Atlantic coast. Sesimbra is situated around a bay, surrounded by towering cliffs, turquoise waters, beautiful sandy beaches, and exceptional seafood—all of which is consistently delicious. In the town center, you'll find narrow streets lined with terracotta-roofed houses and a picturesque promenade adorned with palm trees.
Jose Maria da Fonseca is a family-owned winery that has been operating for nearly 200 years, having been established in 1834 by six generations of the same family. The guided visit begins in the owner's house and continues through the ancient wine cellars. Some of the wines you will discover here are over 100 years old. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste some of their exceptional wines.
The site of the Christ the King Statue (Cristo Rei) offers the best viewpoint of Lisbon. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the city and the Tagus River. Inspired by the statue in Brazil, this monument was erected in 1959 to express gratitude to God for sparing Portugal from the horrors of World War II. There is an entrance fee to go up to the statue, but the view from the bottom is quite similar.

Had a wonderful time with Tonya and the new friends we met. The wines and the tile factory was so impressive. Tonya is friendly and made the experience memorable.
This was a delightful day trip from Lisbon. We started at a traditional tile factory where we learned how three kinds of tiles are made. We drove through Arribada Park, and stopped twice for photos of sweeping views. Next stop was a modern winery, where we had a tour and then tasting of 5 wines paired with small bites. We stopped for a seafood lunch (on our own) in the beach town of Sesimbra. Next stop was the historic Fonseca winery. Finally, a stop at Christ the Redeemer statute before ending the tour. Our tour guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and agreeable.
We had a wonderful day touring vineyards, tile factory, Sesimbra, plus scenic Arrabida photo stop. Our tour guide Katerina (hope I spelled it right!) was informative, funny, and accommodating. The 2 vineyards were each very different yet delightful in their own way. We loved the stop at peak of Arribada for pics, and the quick tour of the tile factory was interesting. The van was spacious and spotlessly clean. It's a 9 hour tour and yet it flew by, honestly would have been happy to have even another hour to extend our stop in Sesimbra. Would highly recommend!
Guide was pleasant and very informed. The drive included a stop at a gorgeous overlook of the ocean and shoreline.
The tour was amazing! Our group was great and Miguel is the best. He is super knowledgeable, friendly, and just an overall great guy. Accommodations were made for the heat and anything else anyone needed. Would definitely recommend!
Small van. Seats 8. Great opportunity to meet new friends, or chat with known. Drivers tell stories and facts the whole trip and take great care of everyone. Visiting the tile factory and two vineyardd was very personal, with explanations of all the processes. Wine tasting was very nice.
It’s was a great tour! You get to see and do a lot. Carolina was the best tour guide. She was very knowledgable, kept us in the know of what was next and made it so comfortable for each of the people that the tour. You should definitely take this tour! If I was to go back to Portugal, I would definitely do a tour with her again!
We had a great trip with Carolina!!! We hit a good bit of morning traffic and she extended our day to make sure we didn't miss a thing! Highly recommend!
When you read reviews you don’t really get a sense of the tour company. I wish we’d had tours with Lisbon Riders - and our guide Kat! - earlier on in our visit because we would have booked all our tours with them! They were excellent. Our guide Kat was incredible- so knowledgeable, fun, easy going, and we had such a great day.
Miguel was very knowledgeable and personable. He made an effort to get to know everyone in the group and make it a fun day. The tile factory was impressive and the wines were very good.
Had an absolutely phenomenal day! When you book these things online in a foreign country, you never know what to expect, but this tour exceeded our expectations - we had so much fun, and our tour guide made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. Would recommend this tour to anyone!
Carolina was a wonderful guide offering recommendations, answering questions, and being a photographer. This tour was a great relaxing way to get out of the city and explore more of the area.
The van bus was comfortable. Our guide Carolina was very responsive. The 2 wineries visited were very different of each other. We recommend this tour.
Lili was a fantastic tour guide! She was super knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. She gave great recommendations for other sites and food to check out also. Such a fun time, I would highly recommend!!
Lilliana was our guide and she was wonderful! She was informative and friendly. The tile factory was interesting and unique. The first winery was generous with their time and wine! We lil ed visiting Sesimbra and eating the fresh caught seafood. We would go on this tour again.
Love the 2 wine tasting experience. Tania and Caterina had been very caring. They provided us with all the useful information. You feel like hanging out with friends rather than being in a tour! Thank you for the lovely day.
One of the best tours I have ever been on. Tanya was amazing! So knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The wine tastings were informative and fun. Was able to take loads of pictures of beautiful vistas. Tile factory and lunch stop were also excellent. Was with a great group of people. I would highly recommend.
This was the best experience ever! My friend and I were running late due to our Uber being delayed, but the driver (and soon-to-be bestie), Miguel, made the experience completely unforgettable. From the calming and informative sightseeing to the hilarious wine tasting, we ended the tour much happier—and with one or more bottles to take home. Miguel also shared great tips on where to find the best pastel de nata in town and even showed us a fantastic local spot for lunch. The tour was the perfect length, and we managed to avoid all the crowds. It’s ideal for every type of traveler—solo, couples, or groups of friends. Easy, fun, safe, and truly enjoyable. 1000/10 experience. Everyone should take this tour for an affordable yet detailed look into Sesimbra.
Even though we did not have great weather, our tour guide made the whole day special. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
What a great day! Our guide, Liliana was informative & friendly. The sites were breathtaking and the wine sampling was a great way to end the tour. Would definitely recommend !!
Wow, what an amazing glimpse into the beautiful beach town of Sesimbra and the gorgeous Setúbal wine country! Tania is an absolute GEM! Her knowledge of not only these small towns of Portugal, but also the specifics of Portuguese wine is astounding! I loved the small group format as well. Sesimbra is truly beautiful. I loved visiting the abandoned castles and the church of Santa Maria. The town was small but also a lovely beach gem. The wine tasting was wonderful as were the wines. The prices weee so incredibly reasonable that it would be foolish not to buy. Overall, this was such a memorable tour. Would highly recommend to is looking to explore a lesser known area of Portugal!
I feel the itinerary was a little misleading, sounds like you do more than you actually do. It mentions that you're at the California beach for 1 hour 30 minutes and then you're also at Sesimbra for 1 hour 30 minutes. You're actually at both the California beach and Sesimbra for 1 hour and 30 minutes total. Didn't go in the Fort which is listed. By the time we had lunch in Sesimbra, there was not time to do anything else. Would like to have had more time there. The wine tasting was was good and at a wonderful place, but could've used a few more snacks. Our guide was wonderful and spoke really good English. Very informative. The views along the way were amazing so it was great to see another part of Portugal.
This was a lovely day trip. Miguel was great as our guide. He was very personable and knowledgeable. It was a very pleasant day and wine tasting was icing on n the cake.
Fabulous day out. Lots of off the beaten track sightseeing plus of course the wine tasting. Lilly our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Air conditioned vehicle and just the right amount of time at each stop. Views to die for and wonderful recommended lunch. Would definitely recommend this tour and Lilly !
Nice day outside of the city with great guide and delightful fellow travelers. Especially enjoyed the beach and winery
Fantastic tour! Lilianna was funny, sharp, and made history as fun as the wine (and the wine was very fun). Learned a lot, laughed a lot, drank just enough—perfect day.
Our tour guide from Lisbon Riders, Lilian (also known as Lilly), was fantastic. She made the experience enjoyable by sharing interesting facts about Portugal's history, telling fun anecdotes, and providing us with excellent wine. Lilly took us to beautiful vantage points for photo opportunities and recommended great places for lunch. This tour is definitely worth considering for first-time visitors to Lisbon. The best part was that Lilly genuinely wanted us to have an amazing experience. She never rushed us and ensured that everyone in the tour group was happy. Along the way, she shared some great jokes, making the tour even more enjoyable. Lilly is a truly fun and outstanding tour guide.
We loved this trip and were lucky enough to have Kat as our guide for a second time. This trip was filled with beautiful scenery, delicious food, and fabulous wine. We highly recommend this trip!
We had a great time with Tania (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly, sorry!). She was great at keeping the energy and excitement up, sharing anectodes and stories, cracking jokes and even helping the small group (8 including us) break the ice. The locations visited were beautiful and full of interesting history, and of course the wine tasting was a highlight for our entire trip.
This was a great experience! Amazing views from the cliffs to the south of Lisbon, great lunch in Sesimbra, and delicious wine. Plus an extremely knowledgeable guide who knew everything about Portuguese history, wine, and even geology!
This was one of the best tours we have ever done. Carolina, our tour guide, was the best guide we have ever had when traveling. The tour was only 6 people which was nice and small so we could have a more personalized experience. Carolina was incredibly informative about everything we did throughout the day with history and knowledge of just about everything. Truly passionate about her country and excited to share it with others. She had many recommendations for the rest of our time here in Portugal of where to visit, what to do, and where to eat. Despite it being an incredibly hot day, it was a relaxing enjoyable day with many beautiful view points, a beachside town, the beautiful natural park, and ending in a great wine tour where we got to bring some bottles home to enjoy. Can’t recommend this tour enough with Carolina as your guide!
This was my fourth tour while in Portugal. The guide was fantastic. A really enjoyable day and she made it memorable.
We really enjoyed this trip. It was very relaxed but we saw a lot. Carolina, our guide, was very knowledgeable and personable.
5/5, would recommend to anyone going to Lisbon. Our guide Tania was super knowledgeable and passionate about Lisbon as well as Portugal, and dropped nuggets of wisdom all throughout the tour. At each stop she asked if we wanted pictures (which we did), and they turned out great. Thank you Tania, for an amazing experience!
We had an absolutely wonderful day with our guide Carolina. She is incredibly friendly and a great storyteller. Even on the way to our first stop, she shared a wealth of information about Portugal and the region. We visited an old pilgrimage site with a beautiful church and stunning views over the cliffs, explored the charming town of Sesimbra, and enjoyed a lovely wine tasting. We highly recommend this tour — it’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of Lisbon while learning a lot in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
This was an historical adventure! Our guide, Tania shared the most wonderful historic facts, legends and stories with us. The castles, churches and villages were spectacular. The views were indescribably beautiful. We travelled on narrow, winding hilly roads and felt safe in Tania’s care. She made special stops to make sure we saw every incredible view possible and even knew the best poses for pictures. My favorite stop was Sesimbra- so rich with culture and beauty! The Alcube family vineyard was the perfect ending. Tania’s knowledge of the wines was very enlightening. Her personality made every moment special. Thank you for giving us this incredible experience!
We had an amazing day with Kat and loved the entire experience. There was so much to see on this trip and the views were spectacular. Kat was extremely knowledgeable and a joy to spend the day with. And the wine was fantastic! Highly recommend this trip! You won't be dissapointed!
A fantastic tour in a small group. Beautiful interesting places that coaches don’t visit. Quiet and off the beaten track. The park and cliffs in the morning were deserted. Sesimbra perfect for a fish lunch and after the mountains some amazing wine. The information provided by Tania was interesting and not too many facts or dates. Excellent. Do it!
We really enjoyed this tour. It took you to some places that you may not go to with other tours and we saw beautiful coast lines, visited a little seaside town for a seafood lunch, had a great wine tasting, and more. . All of this was made extra special by the terrific guide that we had, Carolina. It was our last day and it was a lovely ending for our trip to beautiful Portugal!
Kat was a great guide and I learned so much about Portuguese history. Overall a great day and would highly recommend!
Easy to find the meeting point. Really attentive guide. Very knowledgeable. The tour took us to sesimbra, around arrabida and a really wonderful vineyard. Well thought out tour. Comfortable and fun. Great way to discover arrabida.
What a perfect tour to start our trip in this beautiful country. Liliana was friendly, relaxed, informative and conscientious of the temperament of the group. We visited some stunning landscapes with amazing scenery and rich history. The group was relaxed and made for a very enjoyable outing. We ended the day at a winery where the wine was refreshing and delicious. The ride back was quite fun :) All in all, it was a perfect tour for us.
Great tour! The smaller group size has its advantages, making it easier to explore the beautiful stops we made, and to interact with our guide, Miguel. He did an excellent job of setting the scene right from the start: letting us know that we wouldn't be bombarded with dates and history, and that the nature of the sites we were visiting would make for a more informal, relaxed tour. Despite the laid-back atmosphere, Miguel was easy to talk to, answered all our questions and, most importantly, conveyed his passion for the areas we were visiting. The views along the way were fantastic. All in all we had a fantastic tour. Good value for money: we'd highly recommend it.
Relaxing trip with nice scenary and friendly guide. Group size is just nice.Plus excellent weather. What more can you ask for ?
Miguel was the perfect tour guide, knowledgeable, great communicator and great fun to be with. We had a wonderful day with magnificent views of the coastline and national park. Sesimbra was beautiful and had a superb lunch near the beach. The wine tasting was fun and was the icing on the cake of a fantastic day!
Tiana, our guide, provided incredible travel information both for the sites we saw and the Lisbon area in general. She accommodated the person in our party with limited mobility, and she made sure everyone's interests were met. Her enthusiasm for Portugal and for wine was contagious and made the trip very special.
We had a wonderful tour with Lilly, she was a fanatic tour guide who gave us interesting insights into the history of the local region. She also recommended an incredible lunch spot which we thoroughly enjoyed and took us to a wonderful vineyard.
Had a great day out with Miguel. Very knowledgeable guy took us to some beautiful places and had a good laugh along the way. Also swung by our accomodation the following day to drop off some sunglasses that had been dropped in the van. Big thanks! Neil.
Beautiful scenery and beach town, great attention from our guide Katherina. We even left a bag in the bus and they were kind enough to deliver it to our hotel.
