Algarve Beautiful South Coast Of Portugal In A Day

We had a wonderful day with Pedro as our driver and guide. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and made the day special for us.

An easy 2 hour drive on a beautiful highway to the Algarve with stops a a lovely beach, cliffs and caves. Nice historical information along the way and a great local lunch. We could not ask for a better trip.

Ruben, our tour guide was amazing. Very knowledgable and passionate about the history of Portugal. He spent a whole day showing us the highlights of the algarve. The boat tour of the caves is a must add on. I wish I had done all of my tours with him. He even bought us a bottle of the green wine we kept hearing about.

We wanted to visit this area of Portugal and this proved to be an ideal way of achieving this. It was a long day but worth it. Driving in Portugal can be stressful but having someone else to do it and show you the main attractions was well worth.

A great experience with some fantastic sites. Hiked the trail along the coast for some great views of the sea caves. A truly authentic lunch Rueben was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating our needs

I have used Viator at least (200) two hundred times in the past 15 years. This Tour with Ruben our guide to Algarve was the best I've ever experienced. Ruben is spectacular and I highly recommend requesting his personal services for tours. He was professional and made the adventure to Algarve a one of a kind experience. He was kind considerate professional fun interesting and he went out of his way above n beyond-He literally spent his own money to purchase coffees expresso lattes and food for us to enhance our experience. He made specific lunch reservations at one of the most wonderful n unique classy restaurants that overlooked The Ocean in Algarve that was created in the side of a Rock Cliff that only locals know about n you have to go into a tunnel n elevator to reach this gem of a restaurant that was first class with excellent services n food n menu! Best meals we all had during our stay in Portugal for 8 days. This tour was scheduled as a 10-12 hr day n our small group was having such a fantastic and enjoyable time at our lunch and all our gorgeous destinations with stunning views n walks that the tour ended around midnight- He literally allowed us to spend about 3.5 hrs at lunch it was so incredible- We lucked out with getting along well with the other three people that was in our small tour. The boat tour that was included is fantastic fabulous fun beautiful stunning! The boat company did a perfect job and we enjoyed it it immensely Very safe but exciting and well organized n safe- The views of the various caves were breathtaking! I highly recommend this tour! Definitely 5 star PLUS Ask for Ruben-

The tour was amazing, getting to see some of the natural wonders off the coast of Portugal was spectacular. The boat is a must for this tour so pay a little more for that. Our tour guide Ruben was so much fun and easy going never rushing us and giving us lots of helpful tips. Even made the day extra special by coordinating last minute birthday cupcake and candle while watching the sunset for my friend. The only drawback I would say is the small vehicle which he had no control over and wasn’t all too happy about it either. Ruben was the perfect guide. So much fun.

Rogério our driver was very helpful and knowledgeable about the region. Seeing the algarve region is amazing and definitely gives you a look at the countryside of Portugal. The boat tour gives you an amazing look into the caves and the cliffs at southernmost part of Portugal are beautiful.

Our tour was great! Benny was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. Despite some weather, he made sure we got to see everything we wanted, and was able to make adjustments to the schedule to avoid rain storms. We were all very happy with how personable and kind he was.

We were blown away by the beauty of the Algarve. We stopped at Lagos and Albufeira along with seeing and climbing the amazing cliffs. Our guide was truly amazing and accommodating. This is an all-day tour but our guide and his mom were the best. We were very fortunate to have good weather.

Nestled within a beautiful cove just a few kilometers south of Pyrgi, is Karinda, a wonderful pebble beach with turquoise water. It is a quiet beach with cliffs on both sides, perfect for swimming, sun bathing, fishing and other water activities. The beach has shallow but cold water, and all the basic facilities for a great day on the beach. There is a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas, but also enough free space if you choose to lay your own towel or bring your own equipment. The beach is 32.9 km (47 minutes) from Chios town and 6.4 km (14 minutes) from the medieval village of Pyrgi. Getting there is very easy following the paved road from Pyrgi. At the end of the road there is limited parking space, however you can park along the road if the parking space is full. Karinda beach is definitely one of the beaches worth visiting if you are in the southwestern part of Chios. A visit to this beach can be perfectly combined with a tour in the medieval village of Pyrgi, and a visit to the Mastic Museum of Chios which is located nearby.

Our driver was from the area and thus knew just where to take us...professional and patient. Since i was feeling under the weather a did not need too much walking! He customized our day and made it a successful nevertheless!.

Ruben was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Portugal. He gave us plenty of options and allowed us to customize our day. If you only have a day to experience the Algarve....I would highly recommend.

We love the Benagil caves - so beautiful. In addition, Reuben our tour guy is awesome, likeable and very helpful to our needs. Definitely recommend to everyone for this tour if you are interested to visit the South coast of Lisbon.

Ruben is an outstanding tour guide as his well rounded experience in travel is a bonus to anyone who books him for a tour. In spite of the rain, we saw so much of the Algarve Coast in all its rare beauty. Our lunch recommended by Ruben was located on the ocean’s edge inside of the rock formation was high end delicious! I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about Portugal.

5 women took this tour from Lisbon. Driver was 20 minutes late picking us up and then had to stop at the store to pick up the water that was “included”. It was advertised as a “luxury” car and it was anything but luxury. Very uncomfortable and could hear nothing in the back seat. Our driver Vincent was very polite and tried his best to get the car very close to our destinations. Sadly we had a terrible car accident on the way home. Vincent called another car to take us the rest of the way back to Lisbon. We tried to get the tour company to pay for our medical supplies (bandages ice packs etc) and the lost night in Lisbon but no success. Thankfully we were not seriously hurt but bruised and shaken up. This company did not care. I would not recommend them because of their lack of concern and lack of compensation.

Our driver arrived late and in a car much smaller than was advertised. Anyone who sat in the far back seat heard nothing of what the driver was saying and the vehicle was very uncomfortable for five adults + driver. To his credit, our guide went out of his way to share beautiful places with us. Lunch was not at a restaurant built into a rock but at a hotel rooftop. On our return trip, we asked several times for the driver to slow down and were in a serious car crash. Our 8 hour trip turned into 13 1/2 hours on our last day in Lisbon. Attempts to be compensated for our pharmacy bill (bandages, ointment, etc) have gotten nowhere and the rep made light of the situation. We spent $900 on this tour and it wasn't worth it. We returned home, bruised, abraded and very, very sore from the accident.

This is an amazing tour and all thanks to our tour guide Ruben. His knowledge of the area and where to go and what to see made the tour. Definitely do the boat tour of the caves.

We had excellent guide Ruben who provided all details of region and history. I absolutely recommend this tour. It was long day with driving distance for this tour but he was very flexible providing stops, food information while traveling with children. Our boat tour ,cave visit and stop at different beaches was absolute fun . We had one of the best vacation trip. He even picked us from hotel and dropped off. I will definitely recommend this tour.

Pedro was amazing! He picked us up on time and we enjoyed the trip from start to finish. He was very personable and made the trip so much more enjoyable. We did opt to do the cave tour and I would highly recommend it, it was beautiful.

The boat ride to see the caves, secluded beaches and rock formstions up close was awesome. We ate at a restaurant overlooking the ocean which had great food and unbelievable views.

An absolutely incredible experience and the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Ruben went above and beyond to make our day amazing. He had great recommendations for activities and food and organised everything for us. He was also so friendly and a pleasure to be around all day

For the cost (€500/2 people) I don’t think this tour was worth it. I wouldn’t book it again. Our guide didn’t know where he was going, didn’t follow the outlined tour on the website, didn’t take us to the restaurant in the rock which I was excited about, wasn’t very professional and at one point on the way home was driving about 120 miles per hour or 190km/hour. He was late picking us up in the morning and the tour company never confirmed his name or pickup details before the day of the tour. When I asked a question on the forum it took more than a day to get a response as well. I understand that this type of day trip is a very far drive but I think it was over priced and underwhelming. Our guide didn’t talk much and overall it didn’t feel professional. I will say that the algarve was very beautiful. We did the Benagil cave tour (which was an additional €65/2 people) and that was the best part of the day.

Great guide, covered a lot of ground in a day. It is a difficult task and more time is ideal but they do the best they can. The lunch was excellent with a stunning view. If you don't have a lot of time it is a great way to see a lot of the country quickly and safely. Very accommodating with young kids.

A tour well worth doing especially with Pedro. He made it so easy, awesome, was v well prepared and went beyond. Even brought a towel for the beach . Wish I could give 20/10. Very polite , caring, respectful, early to pick up , calm in crazy traffic, very informative, answered all questions and if he did not know he found out and obliged to suggestions. Pedro made it a trip of a life time . I have done several tours. This ranks in the top 2.

We used Ruben for a majority of tour trip in Portugal; part of the tour was the Algarve. Ruben gave a tour of all the beautiful beaches in the algarve, including some secluded beaches which were tourist free. If it weren't for Ruben and his local knowledge we would have never seen some of these very remote and stunning beaches. He took his time to help us through any of the mini hikes in order to get the most magnificent views. Ruben took his time to show us around the towns & stopped at local places for the best seafood (ocean front). He walked into all of the establishments and everyone knew him, thus, providing us with the best service! Whilst in the Algarve, I got sick; Ruben was my hero! He took me to the hospital, served as my translator and waited with me. Ruben made our trip much more memorable and special. Portugal will not be the same without Ruben, I cannot recommend him more!

Ruben was an amazing tour guide who gave us an authentic look at the south/coast of Portugal complete with fun facts and history lessons, unique excursions, and access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It was a great way to end my trip. Worthwhile tour - highly recommend!
