Kateryna was an excellent guide, well connected to her environment. I suggest a new/larger umbrella, as I almost missed out!

Excellent. Walter was excellent. Highly recommend
Walter, out tour guide, was very knowledgeable and made the walk interesting and enjoyable. I would highly recommend his tour.
I enjoyed this tour of the oldest section of the city. Our guide Thiago was very enthusiastic about the Lisbon and all of its history and culture.
This tour turned out to be a very pleasant and informative experience, thanks to our guide 🙂 I highly recommend it.
Shiri was very engaging. Great insights about the history and local culture. Loved it and would highly recommend it.
Walter hit it out of the park. I so lucked out with him. I have a graduate degree in history; I studied mediaeval Spain for four years. You have to take Walter’s tour of the old city of Lisbon. He gives all the detail, he makes the whole story come alive, and he tells the whole history of the town with charm and erudition. He has a graduate degree in architecture and you know he’s a scholar within two minutes of listening to him talk. He knows how to talk about walls, hills, militaries, oats, trees, art, culture, religions. Yet it’s not a boring lecture it’s stunning. He’s absolutely stunning, charming, brilliant, and fun.
Excellent and knowledgeable guide Walter with a friendly and inclusive vibe. Loved it.
Loved the tour with Walter! He’s extremely passionate, friendly, engaging and expressive. Also, he gave candid advice / views. He also made us taste ginjinha made by a lovely old lady, something I wouldn’t have found on my own for sure. His list of recommendations was also helpful.
The guide did not turn up and no way to contact them.
Some tough uphill hikes, but overall very excellent tour. These evals are waaaay too picky about "enough" words, and about other literary rules....one more time being challenged, and I will not only STOP doing Evals, but I will STOP using Viator as well.....
Walter was an amazing guide! He gave us a great lesson on the history of Lisbon as he took us through the old district and pointed out all the little details we’d never notice on our own. He was so welcoming and friendly and you can really tell he has a great love for the city of Lisbon.
Had a great tour with Walter today. His architectural knowledge is a real benefit to the historical context. A great reminder and example of many different cultures living together.
Walter is a truly authentic guide. He shares his knowledge with warmth and honesty, but what stayed with me most was his humanity. He has a rare gift for words: the way he tells a story makes you feel its history and the people behind it. Spending time with him felt less like taking a tour and more like seeing the place through the eyes of someone who genuinely cares. Thank you, Walter, for such a memorable experience.
Great tour. Natalia was informative and funny - and she stopped often in all the hills and steps! Get ready for another leg day!
Great tour of Lisbon old town (alfama) with Walter! Just the right mix of historical info and fun facts. The tour also foresees 2 stops to taste homemade ginjinha and pasteis de nata (must do!!) You can feel Walter's passion for his job and the city. He will give you useful tips to avoid tourist traps and share his list of favourite tascas, fado places and one-day trips from Lisbon. 100% recommended!!
Lisbon Alfama/Mouraria Tour was fantastic. Walter gave us an enthusiastic tour with many detailed information.
We had a great band educational walking tour of Aifama district with Tiago. He was funny, knowledgeable, spoke clearly and answered all questions. He is curious about learning more from the group as well. The walk has some hills but its done at a good pace with frequent stops at shady areas. The information is presented in such an engaging and fun manner that the 2,5 hours flies by. I appreciate he offers a morning tour so you have the rest of the afternoon to further explore the area you just learned about . Any tour can be “hit or miss “. Much depends on the guide and content. This one was a home run. You can tell Tiago enjoys his job. Resrtve and tip well.
About an hour before the tour was supposed to start, it was cancelled. Waiting for the credit to appear on my credit card.
Our tour for this area was canceled but we were able to go on a Baixa and Chiada tour instead, and we are so glad we did. Tiago was amazing! He was so passionate and knowledgeable and we learned a ton. A bonus was he gave us recommendations of what to see and tourist traps to avoid. Highly recommend as a first day tour of Lisbon.
Beatrix was a very good guide. We did not have the necessary 4 attendees, however she provide the 3 who did show up with options and we continued on. It was a lovely tour of the d town area of Lisbon. Highly recommended.
First, booking was very easy and straightforward. We only had one day in Lisbon and wanted to make the most of it. My sister had told me about “free” walking tours of many cities in Europe. I happened to come across this one and glad I did. Both the owner of the business and the guide contacted me through What’s App and reconfirmed everything about the tour and meeting place. Was very simple. Our guide, Walter, was excellent. Very genial and knowledgeable about all things Lisbon. You can tell he has a passion for what he does and where he lives. Both my husband and I enjoyed the tour.
We booked this tour but the only other group of five that had also booked this tour did not show up so our tour was cancelled. However, Walter, our guide, arranged for us to join the next tour which was not quite the same but still gave us 2 hours of information about Lisbon and its history. Kate our alternative tour guide was very knowledgeable about European and Portuguese history.
Very informative, our guide Kleiber had a lot of useful information and tips. Was also very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history, provided a list of recommendations for places to go to, shop and eat. Definitely worth it and recommend doing this as a first activity.
The tour guide was great, he gave us a lot of information and had a lot of knowledge about the history of the city
I went on this tour of Alfama and Mouraria with my parents and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Our guide Walter was a FANTASTIC storyteller and incredibly knowledgeable, making Lisbon's history fun and easy to follow. You could really tell how passionate he is about the city, and his energy kept the whole group engaged. We also very much appreciated that after the tour, Walter sent us a list of recommendations for other things to do in Lisbon, as well as some great places to eat! We'd happily recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisboa.
This was such an interesting tour. Walter, our guide was amazing and has extensive knowledge of the local history. He was like a breath of fresh air and made our experience memorable. I highly recommend.
Great walking tour of Alfama and Mouraria with Walter! He was super knowledgable, gave great context and shared a lot of great tips and advice. Highly recommend!
Today we had the pleasure of joining one of Walter’s walking tours, and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Lisbon. Walter is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and has a wonderful sense of humor. His English is excellent, making the tour easy to follow and enjoyable from start to finish. As we wandered through the streets of Old Lisbon, he brought the city’s history to life, explaining how immigration shaped Lisbon over the centuries and how many of its iconic foods and traditions came to be. His storytelling made every stop feel meaningful. Walter was kind, approachable, and passionate about sharing his city. We left with a much deeper appreciation for Lisbon and are already looking forward to joining another one of his tours. Highly recommended!
Great way to get a feel for one of the oldest parts of Lisbon. Our guide did a great job not just pointing out some notable sites, but also giving a helpful and informative overview of the history of Lisbon, and of Portugal. We also stopped at some lovely overlook points. We didn't really end up where the description suggested we would, so keep that in mind if you're planning to meet up with someone afterwards. The guides work for tips, so bring some cash. We're glad we did it!
We learned so much from our guide that we would have missed out on otherwise. He made our tour really fun!
Jaimy was a fantastic guide, he was knowledgeable personable understood both the history and the current culture of Alfama. I would recommend the tour for anybody.
Walter was our guide and he made the tour very entertaining and educational at the same time! He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon and was quite enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with all of us!
This tour takes you into some of the best, lesser-known areas that most tourists never get to see and that are difficult to reach any other way. I was there during Saints Weekend and especially enjoyed seeing how the locals celebrated. It was a unique and authentic experience that gave me a much deeper appreciation of the area and its culture.
Walter was amazing and had great energy. Very informative, I highly recommend
José was a good guide. The telling was passionate and interesting
Iken provided us with a great experience for the 2-hour tuktuk tour we took. He was knowledgeable and took pictures of us in the right spots! Very friendly and made us feel totally comfortable! Thanks Iken!
Jose was a great guide through Alfama. He brought us true local flavor and set me up for a great time after with fun activities and places to check out. Thank you Jose.
A free tour just donate at the end what you feel it is worth I did the Lisbon tour in the morning and decided to go with the same guide to do Alfama in the afternoon, both times with Miriam. She was really informative and easy to understand. But tired by the end of the day but felt I knew more about where I had been staying in Alfama
The guide was unbelievable … she actually went into a shop to buy a beer and was drinking as she was giving us the tour … also stopped for a few smoke breaks … the tour was only 2 hours, you think she could wait until she finished working …. But the kicker was … when she dropped us off at an Alfama elevator at some club location; pointed to gate where we started; and said that’s where we started; easy to get there… good thing I had good eSIM / GPS …. was soooo disappointing as had been on Alfama tour with a local 2 years prior and enjoyed sooo much, wanted my group to experience this part of Lisbon ….
José, our brilliant guide, was very knowledgeable and informative and polite and courteous and his spoken English was impeccable. The tour provided a fascinating insight into the history of this city
I did the Alfama and Mouraria morning tour with Kate. I definitely recommend this trip if you are in Lisbon! Kate provided a fascinating mix of modern and ancient history and some interesting cultural and anthropological insights into this area of Lisbon. Book yourself on this tour if you are planning to visit Lisbon!
Great historical tour of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods! Our guide included many recommendations for restaurants and shops nearby.
Our guide provided a detailed history of the area & historical events of Lisbon which was very interesting
We did this walking tour on a hot day in a small group, and were well looked after by our wonderful guide Kleiber. There was a lot of up and down, but the pace was nice and slow, and Kleiber found all the shady spots for us to stop at. He was very knowledgeable and super personable, and did an excellent job answering all our questions.
Our tour guide Claudia was really lovely, fun, and informative. Great if you want a walk around Alfama and hear about it’s history and culture.
You get a good walk around the neighborhood and a touch of history. I've done other walking tours in the city that I enjoyed more though that had a bit more personal touch (like lots of local recommendations). Highlights of this tour were the view points which are easy enough to scout out at your own pace. Lots of hills, be prepared to walk!
Kleiber was our guide for this 2.5 hour tour through Alfama and Mouraria. He was a wonderful guide with many interesting and engaging stories. We stopped for a quick taste of ginginha along the way. A great activity to get acquainted with Lisbon’s historic areas, great for a first day visit. Highly recommend!
Tiago, our tour director, was so friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. It was fun following him to many places of interest and seeing sights of Lisbon that, I'm sure, we would not have seen on our own. Highly recommend this tour!
Saw an area of Lisbon that we were unlikely to have found on our own. Jose was patient, knowledgeable and expressed his passion for the material. Gave tips for dinner and other places of interest, like hearing Fado music and seeing the sunset. Plenty of local flavor, never felt tourist-crappy
