Itinerary
Day 1
1
We start our Porto experience with the most iconic view in Northern Portugal. From this stunning vantage point, you will admire the entire UNESCO historic center and the majestic Luís I Bridge—the perfect spot for your first "postcard" photo of the city.
Step into the vibrant heart of the "Invicta" city. Your private guide will lead you through winding medieval streets, visiting legendary landmarks like the São Bento Station and the Ribeira district, sharing the stories that shaped Porto’s unique character.
Deepen your knowledge of Port wine at one of the oldest and most prestigious cellars in Gaia. Enjoy an exclusive tasting session in a historic atmosphere, learning the secrets of aging and the distinct characteristics of these world-famous fortified wines. (Tasting included).
Conclude your day in Porto by gliding along the Douro River on a traditional boat. Admire the city's architectural skyline and the six historic bridges that connect Porto to Gaia from a relaxing and unique perspective. (Boat trip included).
Day 2
2
As we descend into the valley, we arrive at Peso da Régua, the historic headquarters of the Douro wine region. Known as the "International Capital of Wine and Vineyards," this vibrant riverside town is where the story of Port wine trade truly comes to life. It serves as our majestic entrance to the UNESCO-listed territory, where the landscape transforms into the iconic terraced hillsides that have defined this region for centuries.
Prepare for a drive on what is often called "The Best Road in the World." This scenic route winds along the river, offering front-row seats to the world-renowned terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site.
We journey into the heart of the Port wine trade. In Pinhão, considered the most beautiful village in the region, we visit two premium wineries. Here, you will taste not only the finest Port wines but also the sophisticated Douro DOC table wines and local artisanal olive oils.
To truly feel the valley's serenity, we set sail on a private-style boat trip from Pinhão. Surrounded by vine-covered hills that seem to touch the sky, this is the most peaceful way to experience the Douro before our comfortable drive back to Lisbon.

An exceptional two-day escape. Everything was smooth, well organized, and filled with unforgettable moments. Easily one of the best experiences of our Portugal vacation.
We added this tour at the end of a cruise and it proved to be the best 2 days of the vacation! Our guide Filipe was amazing- polite, efficient, patient, very knowledgable and a lot of fun to travel with! The car was clean and comfortable. The itinerary is busy but interesting and varied and allowed for flexibility. We also were very happy with the accomodation suggested by Rui- The historic "Vincci Ponte de Ferro" hotel perfectly located in Porto. We honestly have not one complaint or negative comment about this tour. We will definitely recommend to others and look into future trips with these providers. A great time in Porto and the Douro Valley- and the perfect weather was much appreciated!
What a beautiful trip perfectly planned by our guide, Rui. Rui provided comfortable and luxurious accommodations while perfectly curating stops between Lisbon and Porto. I highly recommend stopping in Obidos. Rui has a deep love of his country, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He provides facts on anything you ask about, has a warm smile, quick wit and thinks of everything. I highly and unequivocally recommend hiring Rui. He enhanced our first visit to a Portugal in every way.
Lovely experience in Porto and Douro! The drive up from Lisbon had a couple of stops in Obidos (charming walled town) and Nazare (surf town) that broke up the day nicely as opposed to sitting on a train. We loved Porto. The half day walking tour really gave us the lay of the land so we could get the most out of our free time there. Douro was lovely and our day included a stop in Amarante on the way up (could have spent more time poking around that quaint town!), two stops for wine tasting and a river boat tour. The wine tastings were different-one a small family run spot paired with an olive oil tasting and one a larger producer. Both lovely. Our drivers did a fantastic job herding our large group (6 adults and 6 kids). They were full of knowledge and expertise that made our very packed trip a lot simpler! Half of our group arrived two days late due to flight cancellations and our guides helped us manage the changing of itinerary, scheduled events, meals, etc. Doing this without the level of personalization given to this private tour would have been difficult. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation!
3 families with 12 people total. The trips was amazing! All tickets and sites were pre booked for us. Stress free and very enjoyable.
Fatima was the most wonderful guide!! Fun to be around and very knowledgeable!!! She sought out some great sites and vineyards.
Most people rush through Porto or skip the Douro, but this tour made it possible to enjoy both at a perfect pace. It didn’t feel like a tour—it felt like a curated adventure. Our hotel in Porto was charming, and the dinner recommendations were spot on. On the second day, we cruised along the Douro River and visited a hidden viewpoint that took my breath away. It was the kind of travel experience that stays with you.
This tour was everything I didn’t know I needed. I booked it thinking it would just be an easy way to get to Porto, but it turned out to be a full-on experience. Our guide was not just a driver but a storyteller. He shared insights about Portuguese culture, history, and even personal anecdotes that made every stop feel meaningful. Porto was vibrant, and we had time to explore the riverside and try some authentic food. Day two in the Douro Valley was pure serenity. The wine tasting was intimate and relaxed, and we even had a picnic by the river. It felt like traveling with a local friend, not just a tour.
My friends and I visited Portugal late March 2025. Our 2 day tour was great - alot of walking, and long days, but worth every minute. Our tour of Porto through the Douro Valley was outstanding from a historical and cultural perspective. From the tiled buildings to the wonderful aroma of food; to the breathtaking vistas and gratious people... Obrigado! Our driver, Fatima was superb. Not only was she knowledgeable, prompt, professional and kind~ she ensured our safety while we were with her. Fatima's first language is Portuguese, however, her command of the English language is quite good. Her quick wit, patience, willingness to help and her smile was appreciated by this group! Obrigado Fátima! Fique seguro. Sua família!!
