We had a wonderful stay at Olissippo Castelo Hotel in Lisbon while celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary! The hotel was lovely, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent, just steps away from the beautiful Castelo de São Jorge. The delicious breakfast included with our stay was a great bonus! We especially appreciated the staff’s kindness and flexibility in accommodating us before our scheduled check-in time, which made our arrival even more enjoyable. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon. Muito Obrigada, Angelo & Angelica

My friend and I stayed at the Olissippo in Lisbon for several wonderful nights before traveling to Lagos. As two women traveling alone we both felt very safe. The location was perfect for us. We like to walk and walked everywhere. The staff was wonderful. I loved seeing the same familiar faces behind the front desk whether they were welcoming us “home” or wishing us “bom dia”. Housekeeping was also wonderful. I would absolutely stay at the Olissippo Castelo Hotel again.
DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel smells really bad. I had trouble breathing here. It was so bad I left my stay early. This is NOT a four star hotel, I’m not even sure that it is a 3 star. The breakfast is gross-think powdered eggs and old pastries. It is completely misrepresented online and in the reviews.
We just returned from a trip to Spain and Portugal that included 3 nights at Olissippo Castelo. I don’t think we could have chosen a better place for a combination of reasonable price, quality and perfect location for exploring Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods on foot. Our room was super clean and spacious — the only thing I would add would be a USB port or two for charging devices (we had a USB port on an outlet adapter and battery packs so no problem for us). The view from our top floor standard room was fantastic, and from the hotel’s position just below the walls of Castelo Sao Jorge, I’m guessing that just about every room has a fine view as well. I want to commend the staff for their responsiveness and wealth of knowledge about the area when it comes to sites and particularly restaurants (the hotel has a bar, but serves only breakfast). Waleed at the desk was a big help even before our stay, responding very quickly to my emails regarding where to park our rental car. (Be aware that if you are driving, the hotel is on a street with restricted traffic and has only a couple of parking spaces on site—not a problem for us.) Also, there are a huge number of restaurants within easy walking distance. We are very glad we followed Waleed’s suggestions, which took us to restaurants that gave us enjoyable and different experiences in terms of food and atmosphere. He made reservations as well. I also should pass along good words for Luis, who among other things helped me get sorted for the laundry service after arrival. Waleed and Luis in particular added so much to our enjoyment of our stay. Thank you to them and the rest of the staff behind the scenes.
Lovely hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place is beautiful and clean. Our room was perfect, spacious and comfortable with a lovely terrace balcony and a stunning view of the city! The breakfast was very nice with a great selection of options. Would definitely recommend!
