I stayed here for four nights and overall, I liked it. The room and bathroom were decent and cleaned daily, which I really appreciated. Not all the staff at reception were nice. There was one girl who would roll her eyes every time we asked her something. However, the others were nice and helpful. It’s also convenient that there is a restaurant at the hotel. We had breakfast included, which was fine for a day or two, but unfortunately, they serve the same breakfast every day and there aren’t that many options. The biggest inconvenience is the elevator. It stops between floors, so you have to carry your luggage up or down some stairs to reach your floor. I have a cervical hernia, so having to deal with a 23 kg trolley bag was definitely not pleasant.

Staff: extremely friendly and helpful. During our week long stay there were always two staff at the front desk. They provided recommendations and answered questions. Room: small but functional. Bed was comfortable. Not many outlets so bring an extension cord particularly if you have a c-pap machine. Location: great spot as it was in the center of the tourist district so it was close to everything. The train to take to see the sights in Sintra is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room itself has a small refrigerator with beverages, a coffee pot, tv, and a small safe. The bath towels were large and fluffy compared to the other hotels we stayed in during our trip. Food: go ahead and pay for the breakfast buffet as it was excellent and a good selection of options. The breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant to the hotel. For other meals there are so many restaurants nearby you will absolutely have no problem finding food for lunch, dinner, or snacks. Shopping: tons of shopping options are all around this area. Accessibility: there is an elevator in the hotel however if going up or down stairs is an issue be sure to ask specifically for a room on the same floor the elevator stops at. Our room for example we got off the elevator and then had to go down a few stairs to get to the level where our room was. Noise: when we were there it was quiet on our floor. Our room faced a back alley which is quieter than the main square. There was one night that had some partying outside but it was still fairly quiet in our room. Laundry: there were a couple of small laundromats nearby. We used a mini laundromat about a 4 minute walk (WashStation Baixa-Castelo). We used it twice during our stay. Overall: highly recommend and if we return we will definitely stay here again.
Genson and Inês were completely and totally amazing. They and the cleaning crew helped us so much. They separated our beds. Gave us great recommendations for food. All around nice people. The room was small but nice. Sadly the shower leaked a lot the balcony had nice views of both squares and the castle. So many little intriguing things to see inside and out. You are close to the arch, the castle, lots of churches, and the elevator.
A Gem in the Heart of Lisbon Unforgettable 21st Birthday Stay! If you are looking for the perfect base to explore Lisbon, look no further than the Internacional Design Hotel. We recently stayed here to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. The Location & Atmosphere The location is absolutely brilliant. You are right in the thick of it, with easy access to the best sights, shopping, and transport links in the city. Despite being so central, the hotel remains a stylish, comfortable retreat. The Bastardo Restaurant within the hotel is truly top-quality. We were particularly impressed by their sushi and seafood dishes, which were prepared to an excellent standard. It was a good dining experience we had in the city.
We could not have been more pleased with this hotel. We have traveled all over Europe and this may have been our favorite place that we have ever stayed. Clean, great location, amazing value, comfortable. The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Super responsive to all of our questions, A big shout out to Pedro. It's rare that you see someone who enjoys their work so much, knows their customers so well, and creates such a positive vibe. He lightened our day each time we saw him. The Bastardo restaurant was superb for sushi lovers. Our server, Gabriela(?) recalled our wine order from the previous evenings. All in all 11 out of 10. We will be back!
