We had a fantastic stay at Eurostars das Letras in Lisbon. Our room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. One of our favorite features was the large door that opened fully, like a balcony, allowing us to enjoy the view of the street below ~ it gave the room such a wonderful atmosphere. The front desk staff were exceptional, especially Matilde, who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. She was friendly, professional, and always happy to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon!

Good location but not worthy of a 5 star hotel. Had issues with my bathroom and other things in the room. They kept saying they'd come fix it but never did. I spoke with multiple staff and even the regional manager who assured me that he'd follow up but never did. It's an unnecessarily expensive 3 star hotel at best.
We stayed at this hotel for seven nights as the final stop of a trip across Europe. After staying in several luxury hotels, we chose this property expecting a true five-star experience. Unfortunately, it did not meet those expectations. The first inconvenience appeared upon arrival. There are some stairs immediately after the entrance, which is not ideal when arriving with large and heavy luggage. Our experience at reception did not improve matters. We found the staff unfriendly and at times rude. In addition, the city tax was initially calculated incorrectly, creating unnecessary confusion. We were also surprised to be charged an additional fee simply because the second guest's name was not included in the reservation. We were already paying separately for the second guest's breakfast, which is perfectly normal. The extra charge was applied solely because the second person's name was not on the booking. During our entire trip, this was the only hotel where we encountered such a policy. The room itself lacked some amenities and had several maintenance issues. There was no complimentary bottle of water. The shower drain did not function properly, causing the bathroom floor to flood after only a short time. The soap dispenser fell off the wall during our stay, and there was nowhere practical to hang two bath towels. Another inconvenience was the lack of a restroom on the same floor as the lobby and bar. Breakfast was below what we would expect from a five-star hotel. On the third day of our stay, the yogurts ran out and were not replenished for the remainder of our visit, and the overall selection and quality were disappointing. Considering the price of the hotel, we did not find it to offer good value for money.
This hotel is marketed as a 5-star property, but our experience was nowhere near that standard. At best, I would consider it a 3-star hotel. One of the biggest issues was the lack of service. After around 10 PM, there appeared to be no one at the front desk and no one staffing the bar. For a luxury hotel, that is unacceptable. Housekeeping and amenities were also disappointing. No washcloths were provided in the room, and we had to request them every single day. My robe was repeatedly left tossed on a chair instead of being rehung or properly folded. The soap dispenser in the bathroom literally fell off the wall during our stay and was never repaired. There was also nowhere practical to hang two bath towels. There were none of the touches you expect from a true 5-star experience — no complimentary welcome amenity, no turndown service, and no concierge assistance or proactive help with reservations or plans. We travel frequently and stay at luxury hotels often, and this experience simply did not meet the standards the hotel claims to offer.
his room was beautiful, with a quiet neighborhood and easily able to sleep. Location it is an eay walk to Avenida do Liberdade, shopping, restaurants and metro. Do realize though much of Lisbon is steep hills, this hotel location is not exception, so the walk back will be uphill. One night we opted to eat at the hotel after coing back form a full day tour. Although we never saw anyone eating in the restaurant area, I highly recommend it. The man who was bartending that night and took our order was outstanding. To be honest it was one of the best meals , if not the best we had while in Lisbon. Breakfast is on the bottom level of the hotel, and is truely a variety. We did not learn until the last morning that one can order an omelet. My one comment is the music is too loud for the breakfast room, with the coffe maker, clanking of coffee cups and voices, the music really could be turnied down. The one complaint was out checkout (Nov 30), we had to be at the airport and the taxi was waiting. The woman at the front desk was on the phone, as opposed to acknowleding me with a one moment, or a nod, she would not even look at me, and continued her very long conversation . She went to the back office, I thought to get a person who was back there to assist us, but no, her conversation was in the neighboorhood of 15 or minutes. Additonally the counter was filled with liquid that I did not see, so when I placed my arm on it, I was soaked from my jacket through. When she did get off the phone as opposed to acknowledging me, she began another conversation with another employee who just walked up to the desk. Up until that point I felt as if this were a very upscale hotel, this woman brought it down several notches. We did not have a car, used taxi, tour companies and our feet to get around.
