Casa Balthazar

My wife and I stayed at Casa Balthazar for three nights last week, and I can not recommend it highly enough. First and most important, the staff led by Maria, plus Ruth, Milton, Yuron, and everyone else, are top-shelf. My wife and I had an emergency situation where we had checked out at noon, and then found ourselves "homeless" for a few hours before needing to dress for a wedding rehearsal dinner that same night. After hearing our story and seeing the stress on our faces, Maria immediately opened up a room for us to use and Milton moved our bags from storage...and they smiled the entire time. THAT is the definition of service and "care for your guests" ...and it's why we will not stay at any other hotel in Lisbon when we return. Besides that, we loved our room, the breakfast area plus food, the hotel's location in the Chiado region, and the private feel of the venue. (It is perfectly sized with about 20 rooms - I could be wrong about the number - but the point is everything felt private and safe.) But I must end by stressing again that the entire staff was great: they were always smiling and always willing to do whatever we needed or wanted to ensure a great stay. GREAT JOB, Casa Balthazar!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and could not have asked for a better experience especially as our first time visiting Lisbon. The second we arrived at the hotel we extended our stay for another night and the staff was incredible and extremely accommodating. Not only is the property beautiful, the location is walkable to everything you will need. The staff is attentive, welcoming and greet you with a smile on their face each time you see them making you feel at home. We will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone visiting Lisbon.

This place felt like home the week I stayed here for my solo vacation. Beautiful place, amazing location, super sweet staff, great breakfast. It’s in the middle of the city but when you’re in the courtyard/pool/sitting area it’s completely quiet. Very relaxing. Special thanks to Ruth and Yuran from the frontoffice for making my birthday here feel special.

Great hotel! Best hotel of our vacation. We loved the location, the size of the hotel, the room, all of it. Great coffee in the lobby, & the cake on the table in the afternoon was a nice and sweet surprise! Location was perfect, and so easy to get in and out of the hotel. The breakfast was yummy. The pastries, along with eggs and other traditional breakfast items were all very good. Ruth was terrific! Great recommendations and over all a sweet lovely person. Made us feel at home. Recommend 100%!
