We loved our stay at the Boutique Chiado! The room was stylish, comfortable and quiet, yet in a very central location. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location. Very helpful staff. Good communication before arrival so we knew exactly what to expect, and arranged transportation from our cruise ship. Great tips on things to see/do in the neighborhood.
This hotel has a lot going for it. It’s exceptionally clean, beautifully designed, and very well appointed, with thoughtful details throughout the property. Unfortunately, several significant issues made our stay much less enjoyable than expected. The air conditioning in our room was not working, and after speaking with other guests, it was clear that multiple rooms had the same problem. It took nearly a full day just to get a response. Calling the front desk was frustrating, as the phone simply rang downstairs without anyone answering or forwarding the call. Because the room became uncomfortably warm, we had little choice but to leave the window open. Unfortunately, that meant listening to a loud gathering in the courtyard that went on from about 2:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. We were left with two poor options: close the window and be too hot to sleep, or leave it open and deal with the noise. Either way, it made for a very restless night. The Wi-Fi was also unreliable, making it difficult to stay connected. Another major disappointment was the complete lack of storage in the room. There were no drawers, shelves, or even a luggage rack. Traveling with two standard suitcases, we had to keep one closed and consolidate everything we needed into a single suitcase just to function. It’s unfortunate because the property is attractive, exceptionally clean, and clearly designed with care. However, for a hotel in this category, reliable air conditioning, responsive service, dependable Wi-Fi, and basic luggage storage should be standard. If those issues are addressed, this could be an outstanding place to stay.
Wanted to set expectations for anyone considering booking here. I personally would not describe this as a traditional hotel experience. During my stay, I only saw someone at the front desk once. When I arrived around 9 PM, the front doors were locked and there was no staff present, which was stressful as a solo traveler trying to check in. I was eventually able to get in touch with someone and everything was resolved, but it felt much more like an Airbnb-style setup than a staffed hotel, which was specifically what I had been trying to avoid. That said, the room itself was absolutely beautiful and the location was excellent. If you are comfortable with a more self-service style stay, this may still be a great fit.
We LOVED our stay at this hotel. Location is perfect. It’s in a quiet part of the city, while being right next to all of the sight seeing and awesome Bairro Alto neighborhood. You can walk everywhere from the hotel. The room itself was perfect. Beds were comfortable which is always a concern while traveling. I highly recommend it for anyone coming to Lisbon!
