🏛️ A historic gem in the heart of Lisbon: my experience at the 5-star Áurea Museum Hotel If you’re looking for the perfect hotel in Lisbon—where modern luxury meets centuries of history—then the Áurea Museum Hotel in the picturesque Alfama district is the absolute best choice! ⭐✨ From the moment you step into the lobby, you’ll experience exceptional hospitality: a warm welcome awaits with a glass of chilled champagne and traditional Portuguese pastries. After a long journey, it’s the perfect start to your vacation! 🥂🥮 What makes this hotel so special: 🏺 Staying in a museum: Housed in a beautifully restored historic building, the hotel features its own archaeological exhibition. The rooms are elegantly furnished and exude the charm of Portugal’s Age of Discovery. ☁️ Attention to detail: The rooms are incredibly comfortable. A real highlight is the provision of fluffy white bathrobes with elegant gold trim and matching slippers. Slipping into these cozy robes in the morning to start the day in total relaxation is pure luxury! 🧖♀️💛 🥐 Culinary delights and relaxation: The breakfast-brunch leaves nothing to be desired (including, of course, freshly made *pastéis de nata*!). After a long day exploring Lisbon’s steep, cobbled streets, the hotel’s spa area—featuring an indoor pool and a Turkish bath—offers the perfect oasis for unwinding. 📍 Prime location: The hotel is situated right on the banks of the Tagus River. The famous Sé Cathedral and Praça do Comércio are just a short walk away. An unforgettable stay with impeccable service from the very first moment. I will definitely be back! 🇵🇹

This is an exceptional hotel. From the moment you set foot inside, you are welcomed warmly and made to feel at home. Our room was on the 4th floor, really large, and with an amazing view of the river. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we've experienced in any country. The location of the hotel is perfect - a short walk to everything. But the best part of our Aurea Museum experience was the people: Everyone was exceptionally kind, warm, and welcoming. From the reception manager, Joana and Maria, who welcomed us at the breakfast buffet each morning, to all the caring staff who went out of their way to make sure our stay was relaxing, we felt surrounded with genuine warmth and friendship throughout the entire stay. Thank you, dear friends, and we look forward to seeing you all again on our next visit to Lisbon!
We stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel location is great! The hotel itself is very up to date and modern. However there seems to be a problem with the drains and water in the shower does not drain properly. The front desk are not very helpful. We had in the notes that we would be arriving early because the flight we had would get there in the morning and had asked if we could have the room a bit earlier. Well, not only we did not get a room earlier, our room was given to us 30 minutes later than the check in time and no compensation was offered for the delay.
I spent 4 days at this hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were amazing, especially Joana from the reception. She was very kind, helpful, friendly, and always smiling. The breakfast was delicious, and there was a wide variety of food to choose from, which was great for me. Best regards to all the hotel staff. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Aurea Museum by Eurostars is a beautiful, elegant, and high-class hotel that offers a unique atmosphere and a memorable stay. The design, decor, and overall ambiance make it feel much more special than a typical city hotel. The location is excellent, and the staff were professional, friendly, and genuinely willing to help. The only disappointing part of our stay was that the air conditioning in our room stopped working. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms at around 11:00 PM, which was not ideal after a long day of exploring the city. The hotel team responded quickly and did their best to assist us, which we appreciated. However, the replacement room was not quite as nice as the one we had originally booked, making the experience a little frustrating. Despite this issue, the overall stay was very enjoyable. The hotel’s elegant character, attentive service, and unique atmosphere outweighed this inconvenience. I would still recommend Aurea Museum to anyone looking for a refined and upscale hotel experience in Lisbon and would gladly consider staying here again.
