We stayed for nearly a week and it is exactly the sort of boutique hotel we are looking for. It was perfectly clean, reasonably quiet for being right in the city center and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Small mini tiny remarks: if you love a firm matress, great. For me personally it was a bit too firm (complaining on a high level). Secondly, there is no fridge in the room which is essentially fine but there is no ice to be found in the hotel after the staff leaves and the honorary bar is not logically stocked. There is tonic but no gin, no coke or pepsi, aperol but no prosecco or cava or crémant or the like and all of it is room temperature. That was the only thing we regretted a little bit. But again… nothing crucial. All in all: superbe place to stay in Lisbon.
The hotel is very pretty with lots of attention to details and staff was friendly. Personally, it lacked something for me, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. We stayed in room 2, which was large, but felt a little uncomfortable and dark despite beautiful features. There were too many sliding doors to my taste (3 closet doors + toilet door), and the sliding toilet door did not stay closed. As much as I love my husband, I don't want to watch him pooping and vice versa. I saw someone mentioning the same issue in a review a month earlier, so clearly it has not been fixed. Also some other little annoyances like dirty floor, safe did not work - nothing that you cannot get over, but enough to mull over. :) There was a nice breakfast buffet in cellar, the space was small but very nicely decorated. Food selection was more on the sweet side, lots of different pastries, but you could make a sandwich and the eggs choices were delivered to the table. We stayed in Alecrim ao Chiado for 3 nights in May for a city break with my husband. The location is very convenient: easy walk to the riverside or to discover the city, and there are many nice restaurants just a short walk away. I saw several reviews complaining about the noise, but didn't experience it during our stay from Sat-Tue. You could surely hear some noise from the street, but it was not crazy at that time. Overall the stay was pleasant, but it felt a bit overpriced for the value.
Fantastic place to stay in Lisbon! It’s a smaller scale hotel with great service and friendly staff. Expectedly the breakfast is smaller but of decent quality and they make your eggs to order. The location is great to explore Lisbon on foot.
My wife andI just spent a week (January 18/25) at Alecrim ao Chiado. We were absolutely impressed with the hotel - ambience, service, staff, quality for price, and location. The staff particularly impressed us - knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We would recommend this hotel and it's staff to you without reservation.
