Directions to the venue are rubbish! I walked past several times before a very helpful guy came outside handing out leaflets for the concert. I had pretty well given up by that point. However, the gig was absolutely divine. So glad your man was outside to show me where to go. It was a truly professional and talented group of musicians led by Gabriel who was charming and witty, ensuring everyone in the audience was welcome. I was listening to them on Spotify for a couple of months before travelling to Lima and they were even better live. Go see if you get a chance. It’s got me dancing away to new adventures!

My partner and I are visiting from Canada and we heard about the show from our from that lives locally! We really enjoyed the experience. The band really sync well together and each of their solos really highlighted th beauty of each instrument! We would definitely recommend to other friends visiting Lima!

Went here in July of last year and it was an excellent experience. Amazing musicians and a cool fusion of jazz and traditional Peruvian instruments. The food there was expensive and a little underwhelming from what I remember but the show itself still made the experience worth it.

I had an incredible time with my girlfriend. You can easily lose yourself in the music. They’re incredible musicians and very likeable people.

My husband and I were looking for something to do when I saw the Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet would be playing the night we were in Lima. What a treat! I have a newfound appreciation for jazz music because of these immensely talented musicians. The atmosphere was cozy, the service was very good, the band leader was interactive, each musician was able to showcase their skills and overall we left saying "That was great! I'm so glad we did this!" If you have a Thursday evening free in Lima, you should too!

Absolutely WONDERFUL experience I see why it has such wonderful ratings. Every song played touched my heart. As you watch each musician you can see them feel the music in their soul. The space is wonderful and intimate and the performers were wonderful people as well I had the pleasure of meeting two after the show, don’t be shy to ask for pictures!! :) It was defiantly worth it and was the best way to end my trip to Lima!

It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The original compositions, along with the fresh arrangements of familiar songs, felt thoughtful and never predictable. The improvisations were musical, expressive, and genuinely enjoyable, adding depth rather than showing off for its own sake. What stood out to me most was how accessible the performance was. My sister-in-law, who is new to jazz, was completely engaged. She found the music flavorful and exciting, easily grasped the concept, and truly enjoyed every piece. That, to me, speaks volumes about both the musicianship and the way the music was presented.

Great Jazz, cool vibe and hot chicks ! My first time in Peru and I ended up in this jazz club . I’m glad I did.. incredible guitar solo as well as drums and bass guitar. Great for a couples date or a late night cap.

The Gabriel Alegria concert at the Jazz Zone club was an incredible mixture of Afro Peruvian rhythms with jazz. The repertoire was mostly original music with a very interesting mix of styles, which featured each musician in different songs. My favorite piece was called “El Muki,” named after an elf like creature that lives in the Peruvian mines and protects the miners from harm. The percussionist and drummer give a fantastic energy to the music.

Phenomenal show! If you love Jazz, this is a necessary stop :0) Intimate setting and you will have an unforgettable time!

Very impressive band!!!! Became fan in about 30 seconds after the show began. Creative, sharp, perfectly in sync and tune. What a delight this was!
