Private Lima Airport Layover Tour For International Travelers

Started off with a bit of a mixup on thee pickup location and it took several calls to get through, but everything smoothed out afterwards. It was a good way to kill some time on a long layover. Brief stop in Miraflores, and then spent some time in the historical center. Highlight was the catacombs. There’s always lots of traffic in Lima so probably 2 plus hours was spent in the car, but that’s not the fault of the agency. Would have been nice to have some time for a quick meal.

Andres showed up on time. Very informative, lots of walking. Great way to kill time while waiting for a connecting flight. Very convenient, no need to store luggage. Personalized private tour, great value!

It was great to be able to see Lima during our layover and they accommodated our request with short notice. Our guide Leandro and the driver picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, which was very convenient. Leandro was personable and knowledgeable about Lima, it's history and culture. It was a great way to spend the day. If possible, go earlier in the day so you can see it all in daylight. Also, avoid rush hour. Lima has serious traffic! To tour multiple areas, 50% of our tour time was spent in the car.

We had a day in Lima before our flight home and decided to take this tour. It was amazing, the driver & guide were great and we got to see all of the sites of "old" Lima which are really lovely and well worth seeing. We were picked up from our airport hotel and the witnessed the crazy Lima traffic !. One of the highlights was the visit to the catacombs of the cathedral (I am not a religious person, but the history and buildings were fantastic). We decided to finish off with a late lunch and the restaurant our guide recommended was absolutely stunning and the food was to die for. Big shout out to our guide Lehandro he made our day and not forgetting our driver Jesus who safely battled the Lima traffic ! I would 100% recommend this tour.

The guide, Ishmael, was wonderful. We threw him a few curve balls concerning the itinerary, and he willingly accommodated us. He gave us a lot of very interesting information about Lima and Peru in general. We were picked up as soon as we had our bags, and the driver deftly made it through heavy traffic on the way back to the airport in plenty of time to get though security. This is a perfect way to spend a long layover in Lima!

Was such a great trip. And because it’s a private trip I was able to rearrange the schedule a little better to what I want. The driver was great and never felt unsafe. The guide was great and reassuring to me to take my time! I would totally use this company again!!!

We had a lovely day tour from our Lima airport hotel (Grand Costa Del Sol hotel). Leandro met us in the lobby of the hotel. He was early so we left straight away with Gandy who was our excellent driver. Leandro spoke very good English so we were able to have many interesting conversations. I found the tour of the catacombs a bit creepy but I’m glad I experienced it. We finished the tour in Miraflores then we were driven back to our hotel. This was a great tour especially as time was short for us. I would highly recommend it and found it good value for money.

We had a great tour of Lima. There were two adults and two children (tween and teen). We had less than 10 hours in Lima, on a layover. Leandro was our guide and was amazing. We were lucky to see a a Good Friday procession down the square. I would recommend this tour.

We had an awesome tour with Andres. He picked us up at the airport with driver Cesar. They took us all around Lima, showing us the sites and teaching us about the history and culture of Lima. Andres was very kind snd knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Our tour started later than the requested time due to a gasoline shortage in the city. Our tour guide made the most of the time we had and gave us a nice insight into the city of Lima and Peruvian customs. The price was fair.

Our guide and driver I’m sorry I can’t remember their names but they were fantastic we picked they picked us up and we had 1012 hours to kill at the airport and they took us all over Peru. It was fantastic. Well worth the money thank you very much. Will use you again.

I cannot. We were left at the airport after being given wrong time information. When we contacted they said we were not there. Either they gave us wrong location as well or no good ability to connect. I called at 2 mins after meeting time to be told they left almost 20 mins prior.

It was very good luck for us to choose this excursion. Ishmael have met us in airport and answered our numerous questions about ancient civilizations in Peru, history, modern life in Peru. The excursion was in a very comfortable pace, because we were after overnight flight. From Ishmael’s explanation we could learn about Peruvian very healthy food and became fans of Peruvian culture.

Good general tour covering several highlight attractions of Lima. Our guide Leonardo was very knowledgeable and friendly, offering special insights into the history of Lima & Peru as well as modern life in this wonderful city. Our driver Victor did a superb job navigating expertly through traffic, and both were very accommodating by picking us up at our hotel in Miaflores at our specified time, and dropping us off at our next hotel at Lima Airport.

The tour started promptly with our guide, Jose waiting at the airport terminal with a sign displaying my name. Jose was a very knowledgeable guide who gave us a lot of info and history about Lima. The catacombs were definitely a highlight due to the uniqueness of the experience. Leonard was an excellent driver and was nice enough to alter the routes to swing by and show us the locations of the the restaurants they recommended for us to try during our stay

We had about 6-8 hours to kill between the arrival of our domestic flight from Porto Maldonado and our return trip to NY. Enter Andres (our guide) and Jesus (our driver) who picked us up right on time; took us to downtown Lima for a brief walking tour and visit to the catacombs museum; a sunset walk along the beach at Millaflores; and then the best meal we had in Peru at a neighborhood fish place. The whole thing was perfectly seamless and a great way to end our vacation. We arrived at the airport all singing “we are the world” because our guides are big fans of 80’s music from the USA. Terrific tours from a terrific company, do not hesitate to book.

This is a great option if you have a long day layover in Lima airport. They will pick you up, store your luggage and give you a great overview of the city, before returning you to the airport. As a solo female traveler I felt incredibly safe and well taken care of by my guide. There is good communication. Would recommend to anyone.

We had best guide and driver ever.
 They truly listened to us and even made our very unusual wish come true. Eleven years ago, our daughter volunteered in Pamplona (Lima), helping to build stairways in the slums. Visiting that place again meant a lot to us, and it was absolutely no problem for our guide and driver. They took us there and allowed us to see the stairs with our own eyes. Our daughter was incredibly happy to revisit the work she had done with so much love — it was a very emotional moment for all of us. Thank you for guiding us on this special trip and for creating such unforgettable memories. Of course, we also visited all the main highlights of Lima.

Andres (tour guide) and Leandro (driver) were fantastic! Coordination for pick up could have been tricky with our flight delay, but Andres was there waiting for us when we excited baggage claim. The car we drove in, was very clean and comfortable!!!! We really, really wanted to see and feel the ocean, so the first thing they did for us was drive us to the beach! Then we went to the most FANTASTIC seafood restaurant, the catacombs, a slow and beautiful walk through the streets of Lima… truly Andres let us control the pace and catered the experience to what we needed (which happened to be a lot of slooooow after 2 weeks of go! go! go!). We couldn’t have asked for a better taste of Lima. When I come back to Peru, I will be sure to stay a few days in this beautiful city, and I will absolutely be calling Andres for another tour!!! It was an excellent way to get an overview of Lima in one tour. Ismail spoke a perfect English and demonstrated deep knowledge about history and culture.

I had a great experience with guide Ismael and driver Leandro. As my first solo trip I felt safe especially with it being my first time in Peru. Ismael was very knowledgeable about his country and gave me recommendations on where to eat. They went above and beyond and I highly recommend taking this tour.

Ismael was wonderful very friendly and knowledgeable about the city and the sites we visited. Great for a long layover he made sure we were able to spend as much time as we wanted visiting the places that we enjoyed such as the catacombs or a relaxing lunch. The private driver makes this trip easy since they drop you at the attraction and pick you up when you are done, since it seems like its difficult to find parking in the center of Lima. Ismael is bilingual as there were members in our party who only spoke English. I would definitely recommend to anybody who has a long layover in Lima

We have used Viator in the past for many excursions in different countries and have always had a great experience. This was no exception. However, our original City Tour of Lima was initially canceled by Viator, due to city center protests. We only had one day in Lima before our late flight home. After some back and forth discussions, Viator was able to reorganize our tour around the protests. Andres was an excellent guide: very knowledge about the country and provided lots of history and context. On our private city tour, Viator provided a driver AND a guide, which helped immensely because the streets were so crowded and parking would have been a nightmare. Lima is a very busy and crowded city, so when you book a city tour, just be aware that you will be spending a good portion of time stuck in traffic.

Terrible experience. I booked a tour two weeks in advance and received confirmation. However, when I arrived at the airport, no one was there to pick me up. I called and spoke to someone who told me they were having issues and couldn’t pick me up. No one contacted me beforehand to inform me of any changes, which left me stranded and without time to make other arrangements. Completely unprofessional. I would never do business with them again.

Excellent option for a half day stopover to see some of the attractions Lima has to offer. A nice lunch could also fit in our schedule.

This is a really good tour. Tour leader/driver was very nice and professional. In tour guide was knowledge and full of interesting facts about Lima. Tour leaves right from airport.

Guide was kind, and informed us all we saw. He went out of the way to help me as I was not feeling good. Driver was always there for us when we were ready for the next stop.

I had a long layover in Lima between flights and this was the perfect way to spend 6+ hours experiencing some of what Lima has to offer. I was met at the airport just outside the exit doors and escorted to the vehicle which was rather new and comfortable. My guide spoke excellent English and shared many interesting and relevant facts about the history of Lima. There was a driver who always had the car waiting for us. We visited the main city squares, wandered through the streets to see some daily life, I was given a tour of the Franciscan church and the catacombs (creepy and may not be for everyone, but very interesting,) and we then headed down to Miraflores for a view of the shore and a different aspect of the city. I invited my guide to join my for a delicious ceviche lunch at a restaurant that he recommended and we had a chance to discuss Peruvian life and culture. Overall, it was a terrific opportunity to see the city, have a great meal, learn from a local (isn't that why we travel anyway?) and pass some of the time before being returned to the airport for my onward flight. The only downside is that traffic in Lima is unbearable, but the driver was skillful and did his best to make his way while keeping us on schedule. I would highly recommend this family owned company and their day tour.

Everything was excellent! The guide tour was on time to pick us at the airport. The car was clean. We visited all the places indicated on the program. The only bad side was the traffic, but it is better than stay at the airport (9 hrs)

Ishmael and Carlos were phenomenal! Ishmael was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We learned so much about Lima and the tour captured so much history and charm.

Ishmael was our guide and Pedro our driver. We had about 6-7 layover in Lima and this tour was perfect for us. They were waiting at baggage claim with our names and drove us all around Lima to many different sites and then dropped us back at the airport. We went on a Sunday which was great because not very much traffic.

Amazing time in lima and also a great tour to take if you have a long layover in lima. Our guide Ismael was very knowledgeable and speaks English very well. There's a bag drop spot called Left Baggage that you can leave your luggage there while you can take to tour. They were on time and wasted no time getting to the city center. Highly recommend them for a great tour of lima. A++

Perfect for a long layover. Ours was actually 13hrs so this was a perfect way to see the city and kill time. Can bring all your bags with you and store on the bus, which was perfect. Very attentive through WhatsApp. Our guide was very nice and we enjoyed seeing the catacombs!

Our tour guide Julia was amazing, and the driver Javier as well. They both made our layover experience great. So glad we booked this tour for our 11 hours layover. They picked us up bright and early, and dropped us off at the airport with enough time before our flight.

Can't say enough good things about this tour. We had a 13-hour layover in Lima, and this tour made the time fly by. Pick up at the airport was good, our driver was great, and our tour guide was not only extremely knowledgeable about Lima--sharing all kinds of historical and cultural information--he also listened to us and gauged our multiple activities with our energy level, truly an extraordinary guide! I feel like we really got to see Lima and know the history of the place in a very short time.

It was great. We had a 16 hour layover on our way to Rio. Seamless pickup at Lima airport. Arturo was our driver and July was our guide. Both were great. July put together an itinerary that gave us a wonderful overview of Lima and Miraflores. July was knowledgeable, friendly and very nice. We had a great lunch downtown and were dropped back at the airport.

My friend and I really enjoyed this tour. We had about 12 hours from our flight landing in Lima (from Cusco) and before our international flight back to the USA. We wanted to get a taste of historic Lima and that is just what we got. Our guide Ismail was full of facts about Lima, both history, culture, economy, and also shared a bit about his personal life and family (his ancestors were from India, just like mine!). We ate lunch at a lovely restaurant in downtown and then checked out the coast at the lovely Miraflores area of the city. Lima Discover made it easy by picking us up at the airport and then dropping us back and we got to keep our suitcases in teh trunk of of the car. Highly recommended for those with a long transit time in Lima!

We had a great time! Jose and Wilton were friendly and knowledgeable. They brought us all over Lima and got us back to the airport with plenty of time to make our flight, even with the crazy traffic. We learned a lot about the history of Lima. Wonderful, and soo much better than sitting at the airport.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the two tours provided by Lima Discover.  Ismail was a great guide and Carlos an excellent driver. They were both very friendly, on time and knowledgeable.  We were extremely happy with the tours and what we saw and will use again.

We had two tours. A city tour and a whole day tour to Ballestras islands and Huacachina. Ishmael was an excellent guide and Carlos the driver was very good too. Ishmael was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had two great days. He also made a special trip to find the Paddington Bear statue for us so we could take photos!

This turned out to be a customized private tour with airport pick-up and cruise port drop-off. Very nice, caring people. Great way to see some of Lima before leaving on our cruise. Basically a mini-tour and airport transfer rolled into one!

Ismael was our guide and Jaime the driver who is also a guide. They both had a lot of information to pass along, extremely polite, very thoughtful, and flexible. We had a 15 hour layover and it was the best tour! They met us at the airport and instead of going back after the tour, they took us to a delicious seafood restaurant in Miraflores and we took an Uber back to the airport. We saw the historic city of Lima, saw it’s beautiful seaside suburb, and then flew home to the US. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect tour 🤩 We flew into Lima for a long layover and didn’t book this tour till the night before. Based on some of the reviews I had low expectations. The tour exceeded anything I could have asked for. The driver & guide were waiting for us when we arrived. They were friendly, helpful, and funny. The van was clean and had AC. Ismael was very knowledgeable and we loved each location we stopped at. He also had great food advice! They were flexible, letting us stay longer at places of interest. Javier (our driver) was incredible at navigating all the traffic. The whole day was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone! It was a trip highlight!
