Private City Tour In Lima

I loved this city tour, which I took with a friend. In just four hours we visited several key spots in Miraflores, got a glimpse of the Huaca Pucllana site, explored the stunning historic center of Lima and the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. We even enjoyed some delicious churros along the way. ​The driver and guide picked us up at our hotel reception. They were very punctual, which was consistent across all the tours we booked with Maypi Travel. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable and our driver (who had also picked us up from the airport earlier that day) gave us great dining tips and helpful insights about the city. ​Because it's a private tour, it's suitable for families, couples, friends and solo travelers alike. The driver navigates between spots so the only section requiring significant walking is the historic center, making the itinerary very well-balanced. I only had one day in Lima before my connecting flight, but this tour made me wish I could have stayed much longer in this beautiful city. ​A huge thank you to Maypi Travel for making our entire travel experience in both Cusco and Lima unforgettable. They seamlessly took care of our transportation, hotel reservations and ticket arrangements for Machu Picchu and all the other historic sites, making our trip completely hassle-free.

This is a very good tour if you want to see the main parts of Lima in short time. Our guide Edward was excellent. Had a lot of knowledge and explained everything so well in very good English

Very informational, and interesting. The private guide is the way to go if you'd like to experience Lima at your own pace with a small group. This can also be customized to your desires. We were going to have some overlap with some of our independent sight seeing, so we told our guide ahead of time where we wanted to focus and it was the perfect modification and pacing that suited our wishes.

Guide was very knowledgeable and very personable. I enjoyed the tour thoroughly. The pickup at my hotel was smooth and on time. The driver was excellent and I always felt very safe snd well taken care of.

The guide for the tour was excellent but unfortunately the vehicle let the tour down. Was supposed to be luxury vehicle but quite frankly needed scrapping. Had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive!

Heyson was very knowledgeable on history of Peru. Really enjoyed all the stops. Had a great tour of the various areas, historic downtown Lima and all of the beautiful squares. Would recommend this tour.

⸻ We did a tour of Lima with my mom and my husband, and José Antonio completely surprised us with a tour full of history in this beautiful city. We had an amazing time from start to finish. We began at the Park of Love, where we enjoyed the stunning city views and the famous Kiss Statue. We took a short break there to drink water and take lots of photos… it was the perfect way to start the day. Next, we visited San Isidro and the El Olivar Park, which left us amazed by the beauty and tranquility of the trees. It was such a peaceful and special place. We then went to Plaza San Martín, and when my mom shared that she loves the history of Bolívar, José Antonio kindly took us to the Bolívar Hotel and explained its history. That part became my mom’s favorite moment of the tour. We walked toward the Plaza Mayor, stopping at the beautiful Church of La Merced. José Antonio gave us plenty of time there after we told him that my mom and husband love visiting churches. We continued through Plaza Mayor, admiring its stunning architecture, visited another gorgeous church, and finished the tour with some shopping. What we loved most was how flexible and attentive José Antonio was, always adapting the tour to our interests and pace. Everything was wonderful, and it was an experience we will always remember.

Our guide was extremely versed in the culture and history of Lima. The whole experience was well worth it

After a long day of travel on the prior day, we weren’t sure we had the energy to do this tour but our guide allowed us to alter the schedule as we wished! A few minutes more here, skip that park there, pick up a churro here, and got home under five hours at our request. Our guide and driver were great and I’d highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Jose as well as the driver were excellent. Jose showed up on the dot at the hotel for pick up and accommodated my wife's desire to visit the Lighthouse point without any compliant. Jose, you need to WhatsApp the pictures you took when our phones ran out of charge.

Carlos was our driver and Jose our tour guide. Carlos was excellent expertly navigating the Lima traffic scene and getting us safely to all of our excursions! Jose was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything to us about the history and modern times of the city. He also took our pictures and was very patient/flexible during what seemed like a misunderstanding of when to pick us up/expect us on the tour. He found us and immediately got us up to speed on what we missed before we joined the rest of the group. He was awesome and I’ll definitely recommend him! The tour itself gave us a good idea of Perú’s history, culture, and present day challenges. Super informative especially if you do not have a lot of time in Lima.

Jose was a really great tour guide! He was very very knowledgeable and also made his explanation very entertaining. He also asked me a lot of questions so he would understand what I was interested in. He really made sure I was happy and satisfied. If he asks you to try some Pisco I highly recommend it. :) The driver was professional and friendly as well.

Took a chance on the private tour and we’re so happy! Javier and his driver were right on time. Took us on a morning tour starting in Mira Flores and into the central part of Lima. Parque amor was a quick but cute stop. Then to Huaca Pucllana for some history of the region. Then to central Lima. We loved the catacombs and museum. Pit stop for Churos at San Francisco - the best - better than Spain. Highly recommend.

Guide was late by 10 min, was not much informed and poor in communication. Had no itinerary and coordination with the driver of vehicle drop and pickup

This was a great tour! We enjoyed walking in the streets of Lima and learning about its history and traditions. We got to visit a lot of places in a relatively short amount of time. Thankfully, there wasn’t a lot of traffic, well planned! Thank you for this experience!

Our driver was very skilled and we felt safe. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional. He was accommodating as we wanted to add Chinatown and a market to the tour. He and driver went over their time for us. The guide was great to help us take photographs ! They are great company and I would highly recommend them !

Very poor tour. The guide wasn’t engaging or informative, didn’t look like he wanted to be there and finished an hour earlier; after rushing us out of the last stop. A shame as this tour had many good reviews and we were excited to attend.

Our guide Sandy and our driver Rodrigo were on time and ready to start at the scheduled time. Sandy was friendly, professional and a wealth of information about each site we visited. Rodrigo drove expertly through the chaotic Lima traffic. It was a great experience.

Well organized tour that gave us a chance to see highlights of Lima and some parts we may otherwise have not visited. Our guide Jason was informative and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the afternoon.

Sandy was fabulous. And the driver was too. The tour took about 5 hours and we saw and learned so much. I highly recommend you have sunscreen and a hat ...i didn't have either and wished I did. We were Evan able to pick up a few things in shops along the way. It was a bargain price for all we were able to do.

My daughter (17yo) and I had the best time. Heyson and Angel were amazing. Angel the driver super fun and accommodating and Heyson our tour guide is a vault of information and showed us in little time all the gems that the city has to offer. If you want to use your time in the best way, see everything amazing about Lima and be treated like royalty then this trip is for you!

A necessary tour to take to get to see the interesting and fun parts of Lima. Try to schedule your tour to visit the city squares on the weekends when they are most lively with musical performers and celebrations.

The tour with a private guide and driver (safe driving style, air-conditioned minibus) was very well organized. Perfect if you don't have much time in Lima and still want to explore important sights. Communication in English was possible without any problems and I received a lot of information. I was particularly impressed by the walk into the catacombs and the monastery - we didn't have to wait in line for admission, which was good. A note: on this tour, you can only view "Huaca Pucllana" from the outside (no admission, also due to time constraints). All in all, a great experience!
