This was a pretty amazing place, with its vast collection of pre-Columbian artifacts showcasing Peru's rich history in gold, silver and copper. As sell as the beautiful metals there was plenty of guns/weapons, mummies - not to mention shrunken heads. If you can allow a couple of hours if you enjoy this sort of thing, there is so much to see.

Visit to the private collection of Mr. Mujica Gallo, a person who spent his lifetime collaborating in the recovery of Peru´s historical heritage, mainly the cultures that develop din the north of Peru
He set up the Peruvian Gold Museum Foundation, where over 2,000 pieces of gold, silver and brass belonging to the Mochica, Chimu and Inca cultures are displayed. Among the most precious treasures are nose pieces, pots and utensils for religious purposes, as well as some mummies. There is also a room where Inca and Paracas textiles are displayed, as well as pottery and some garments. Among the oddities of the place, you can find the collection “Weapons of the World”, considered to one of the best of the kind as it treasures some relics of important characters in world history.

Great experience! We were picked up on time and taken to the museum, where we got a very interesting and insightful tour of the many many many treasures... the scope is amazing. I was kind of expecting also to get a tour of the weapons museum, but that was not part of it. We were given time to browse it on our own though. Wow, that guy was a hoarder.. Soo much stuff he collected... ! Very Impressive!
Very impressive collection from a private collector. Over 8000 pieces of pre Hispanic gold, mostly quite small, and over 20,000 weapons from all over the world. The weapons are mostly side arms and firearms. A huge number looking in excellent condition. They are well displayed in glass cases with good lighting and bilingual plaques.
An important musuem that has so much to see that you need to allow more time than anticipated. It houses many impressive treasures, big and small. A not miss stop in LIma!
The museum was great, I was surprised by the weapons collection. The guide was not well informed about them. price quality ratio not convenient.
Great informative guide Mayrol , quite the collection of gold , weapons and anthropological items . Good addition to Peru’s many gems . The museum could use better item labeling and identification if you go without a knowledgeable tour guide .
Excellent experience with Vipac Travel the Lima provider. Not good experience with Tripadvisor, Tripadvisor has to improve customer communication. The provider picked us and returned us to the hotel via private transportation. The guide was a TRUE bilingual tour guide. He explained surrounding locations while traveling to/from the museum, and was knowledgeable of the gold collection. I would have liked more history on the arms part of the tour. The museum is fascinating on its gold & arms collection, breathtaking. It was a good PRIVATE tour experience.
The museum was very interesting. We took our time and look at all the fascinating items. Smaller kids would probably find it boring, but our teens were intrigued.
This museum boasts a vast collection of weaponry and regalia, and an extraordinary collection of Incan gold pieces. Breathtaking.....

This Museum has a very impressive collection on Weapons and Pre-Inca Gold pieces. The guide who joined us for this tour was really helpful in explaining details on traditions and culture.

Was not good.Started late and don't beleive was worthy the money.

Interesting tour with a highly knowledgeble guide. The weapons collection was very impressive for a private one. Great experience.
Britt

The Gold Museum itself is great and defintely a must in Lima. The guide was also a nice person. However the tour was too short and, *unacceptable*, does not include a guided tour through the Weapons of the World museum, which could be even more interesting as the collection is really extense (even bigger than Gold's). The guide left us with only 20 minutes to visit the entire collection by ouselves, which is clearly insufficient. One word: frustrating.

If you like to see only many historical objects, this is your ideal place. There are no historical reviews to read They had no guides or anyone to point you to the places There's no order to start. Inside there are shops open but it seems at the same time abandoned. Without a guide you can not do a pleasant tour, the only fun for me was to see objects from different countries and years. Take cash, I couldn't pay by card. They don’t give you a brochure, there is no QR’S to see if there are stories to listen to, it’s far away and getting there by bus is not easy, just by taxi, own car or bus with visiting groups.
A place where you can enjoy the history of Peru, as well as items of great characters, you can enjoy the Inca culture and all the gold they left us to be able to surprise us daily today, the entrance has a price of 40 suns
Excellent collection, history close to you, it is recommended to take the tour with a guide so as not to miss any details.
I recommend visiting the Larco Museum first, as there is more information there. This is a private collection of Inca pieces, mainly gold pieces. Furthermore, it has a wonderful collection of weapons and armor from around the world, including a weapon that was given to Dom Pedro. Right at the entrance, they say you have to pay for a guide, who are historians who explain everything, but we didn't want to and went alone. Be careful, because the way they talk, it seems like you can't visit without a guide. And it's far away.
Surprising. In addition to a large and beautiful collection of gold pieces, there is a very rich collection of weapons and military equipment
Super happy with the agency very accomplished with all your departures at the time really indicated thank you very much for living an ingredible experience all super nice excellent your guides all super nice Service 10 out of 10 excellent work team ☺️
It has many things to do with it, with a significant value thanks to the amount of gold, gems and weapons of famous warriors
We visited the Museo del Oro, with the guide Gladys, very friendly and speaking Portuguese. The collection of pieces of gold, silver, copper, ceramics from pre-Inca and also Inca civilizations is impressive, by the quantity, wealth, beauty and the details that tell the whole history of Peruvian civilizations. Other than mummies and remains of tribal heads and others. It is a tour that is too worth it, costs 30,00 the ticket. The weapons of the world is also an amazing collection. It has all kinds, sizes with a variety ranging from a Chinese third dynasty knife to Hitler revolver, which belonged to various personalities from soldiers, armies, politicians, kings, etc. In 2 hours you can't see everything you have. It was the last place I visited before I left. Glad I didn't give up convincing the family to go there.

O Museo do Oro é imperdível.
