Itinerary
Explore the main tourist attractions of Lima Historical Center, San Isidro and Miraflores. Understand the different times that Lima had to pass to become one of the biggest, recognized and most notable cities of South America. Start this experience exploring the "Malecon" of Miraflores district, a beautiful walkway surrounded by beautiful gardens, enormous appartment complex and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Stop at the Love Park and enjoy taking pictures of its huge kissing sculpture, mosaic walls and snack stores. See Larcomar Shopping Mall and visit the Kennedy Park, the heart of Miraflores where you can feel the living culture of this district. Later, explore a pre-Inca building called Huaca Pucllana, a huge complex made of clay and mud considered a ceremonial center from the Lima culture.
Once we arrive at San Isidro, the financial district of Lima, we will stop by the Olive Park, an enormous park with more than 100 olive trees and impressive mansions with baroque architecture and adorned with beautiful flowers and plants.
Once in the downtown area, see the great exhibition park, the Lima's Art Museum, the Italian Museum and the Justice Palace among other notable buildings. Explore San Martin Square, declared Cultural Heritage for Humanity and considered nowadays as a great symbol of the Independence surrounded by colonial buildings and beautiful gardens. Walk by Union Street and feel yourself like a local in one of the most popular and commercial areas of Lima. Keep walking, explore the Main Square of Lima and admire magnificent buildings such as the Government Palace, the Archbishop Palace and of course, the Cathedral of Lima, the biggest in all Peru. Drink some shots of Pisco and taste peruvian liquors at a local drinks shop and finally, visit the San Francisco Convent and its famous Catacombs. Discover a secret part of Lima underground with corridors full of history and explore great locations such as the library, corridors with marvelous paintings and the great main cloister.

Our driver Victor and our guide Sophia were wonderful. Sophia was very patient and knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the history of the parks, church, and catacombs to us.
me & the wife did this tour 8/27/2026, jesssica was very talented about history of the city, our favorite was the catacombs under the chapel of san Francisco.....
Vilma was super informative and could answer any question we had as we walked through downtown Lima. She had perfect pacing to let us see everything and linger at sights we thought were stunning while beating the crowd to all the cathedrals and buildings. She also gave us great advice of where to get coffee and a snack throughout the day. Overall just a fun and informative day around Lima!
Tour itself I would give 4 stars. It was good enough but did not include everything stated - specifically, we did not got to Kennedy Park and did not have a pisco tasting. We did not have bad traffic and were dropped off before the 4 hrs end time, so it wasn't just that we ran out of time. An additional star was removed because the company does not manage bookings well. I booked over 3 weeks in advance and included our pickup address. Within 24 hours of the tour, I received a message stating that they would charge extra for our pickup location and wanted to change the time. One of the main reasons for choosing this tour over others was that this tour did not have an extra pickup fee when I made the booking (one of the better rated options on Viator specifically gave a message when entering the address that it was out of the pickup area and would incur additional cost). At this point, it was too late to cancel without penalty and arrange a different tour.
Maria was a phenomenal guide. It took us through all the key spots of Lima . She was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We could not have asked for a better tour guide or schedule.
We loved this tour and got a great feel for the city. Our guide and driver were prompt and friendly and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely recommend this experience. We sat this first love tree, the natural, the catacombs and love park.
It was great once we arrived at the city central & historic area. The traffic is horrible coming & going no matter what day so be prepared & be patient. There are many street that are pedestrian only which is nice. Do not go on the 28th of the month. There is a religious event at the catholic cathedral each month on that day & jammed with people.
Excellent overview of Lima if you don't have much time. Maria was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of the city which is very large, we hit all the spots. Mike
This was a good way to get a brief overview of Lima. It is not easy to get around such a busy city with public transportation not convenient. Our tour guide and driver did a great job mainly showing us the historic downtown buildings.
The tour guide herself was friendly and tried her best, but we experienced several issues that unfortunately make me unable to recommend this tour. First, the company changed the start time from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. by messaging me at 11:30 p.m. the night before. I agreed to the change, and as a concession they agreed to drop us off in Barranco at the end of the tour. The biggest issue was that we spent most of the tour stuck in traffic. As a result, we did not experience much of what was advertised in the tour description. There was no stop at Kennedy Cat Park, no time to enjoy a pisco sour in the Historic Center, and we reached the Love Park extremely late—so late that it was too dark to get photos of the famous kissing statue. We also skipped the olive tree stop in San Isidro entirely. The Pucllana Site Museum is literally a drive by. Added zero to the tour. To make things worse, near the end of the tour they attempted to back out of the agreed-upon drop off in Barranco, claiming the driver had an “emergency” and could only take us halfway. I explained that this felt inappropriate and too coincidental. Only after insisting did they honor the original plan and drop us off where they had promised. To be clear, none of this was the tour guide’s fault. The issue lies with how the tour is organized. The company needs to plan better or avoid offering this route on days when traffic makes it impossible to complete the advertised itinerary
Great city tour of Lima. Maria (guide) and Victor (driver) were great! Maria’s knowledge of city’s history and architecture was amazing. She was very attentive to every little aspect of the tour. If you are looking for a half day excursion, this is the one! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Immensely enjoyed this tour and highly recommended. Maria provided a comprehensive and superb guide and information. Top notch and highly knowledgeable!!
Sophia was amazing! It felt as if we were being shown around town by a family member or friend instead of a tour guide!
This tour is comprehensive and we enjoyed the afternoon. The catacombs were fascinating, and pickup went smoothly. Would recommend.
A great way to discover the city of Lima. The tour takes you to the beautiful Miraflores where you will visit iconic parks as Kennedy park filled with cats, and have great views of the ocean. You will also get to see the city centre and its interesting qnd colorful buildings. Be sure to go and eat at la Rosa Nautica for the best ceviche in Peru and the world. Miraflores is very safe and walkable.
Excellent tour. Relaxed pace, We were never rushed and had ample time to take photos Our guide was very informative .
This was a great tour of the highlights of Lima. Our guide, Sophie, was excellent and gave us a lot of great insights and answered all our questions.
As nervous first time travelers to Peru, this was the perfect first experience. Sophia and her driver were fantastic! We didn’t feel rushed, Sophia was kind, funny and very knowledgeable of the history of Lima and Peru. I would recommend this trip for all first time visitors.
During this half day tour, we stopped at quite a few sites, but the highlight of course was visiting the catacombs! María, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge about Lima. She explained so much about the history of the city and the different buildings, but didn’t overwhelm us and presented it in a way that it was memorable. At the end of the tour, she recommended a local vegetarian restaurant that we never would have found on our own. This is a great way to see the city and see a few attractions.
I can’t recommend Vista Adventures enough! We ended up booking three different tours with them because each one was so well organized and enjoyable. They were incredibly accommodating, especially considering we had little ones with us. Whether it was the city tour or our trip to Paracas, the guide was always sweet, patient, and impressively knowledgeable. What really stood out was the private tour experience — having our own van made everything smoother and more comfortable. On one of the full-day tours, lunch was included and it was delicious, a thoughtful touch that made the day even better. Their WhatsApp responsiveness was excellent. I was able to arrange our last tours quickly and easily, and they were always clear, efficient, and helpful. Vista Adventures will definitely be my go-to for any future trips in Peru. Thank you for making our time in Lima so memorable!
Our Tour Guide Sophie was informative and accommodating. The driver was good and coordinated well with Sophie. We were picked up at the Lima airport at 9am and pick up communication was effective. We then went on our tour and then were dropped of at our hotel. We appreciate the historical and local insights Sophie provided.
Covered all the main sights and our guide gave a great insight into the Peruvian and Lima cultures. Very informative and interesting. Recommend this!
Sophia did a very good job showing us around Lima. The van was nice and Victor was a contentious driver in a country full of insane drivers. I recommend this company.
Our experience started an hour late (my fault) and we got stuck in the City Center due to an accident. We only did 1/3 of the tour. It took 2.5 hours to get to the airport.
Maria is a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. She and the driver are accommodating and friendly. The tour was neat and informative. I recommend it.
Mayrol was an excellent guide - entertaining and informative! Victor was a great driver Highly recommend!
This was a great way to spend our first day in Lima. Sofia was an excellent guide in every way, and we learned a lot about the local history and culture. Everything was perfect!
Our guide Sophia was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and very good with her English. The 4 hour tour was the perfect amount of time for us. We saw and learned a lot on the history of Lima.
William was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot about the parts of Lima that we visited. He made the tour both easy and enjoyable for us.
Sofía and Víctor were wonderful, kind, and flexible. They were communicative and helpful as we struggled to get to our tour fresh off a hard 25 hours of travel. They were patient, excellent story tellers and helped us learn about this new-to-us destination. I highly recommend this tour. They were lovely.
Maria was a very knowledgable guide and extremely attentive to details! Highly recommend if you want a 4 hour tour emphasizing on the highlights of Lima!
My husband and I had an excellent Tour today with Sophia. Our Tour was modified so as to avoid duplication with a different Tour we are taking tomorrow. Sophia was very receptive to the modified Tour. We were picked up at the hotel and started at Love Park and then went to Kennedy Park to see all the kitties. It was great fun and Sophia provided great insights along the way. Next we went on a tour to the Huaca Pucllana site and Sophia described the history and discovery of the site. It was very interesting. We drove past the Olive Park on the way to the Church of San Francisco & Catacombs which we toured with much fascination. So many bones! Sophia did a wonderful job the whole time and has a calming way about her. When the tour was over we asked if we could be dropped off at a restaurant near our hotel which the driver said was not a problem. Sophia did not go back on the ride with us, but while we were on the drive back, she contacted the driver to let us know that she tried to get us a reservation but they were full. She then recommended Cala and proceeded to get us reservations there. Her efforts on all this went far beyond anything we expected. And the restaurant was amazing BTW. I'd also like to give a shout out to our amazing driver. I think his name was Kenyi but not sure that's the right spelling. He handles the Peru traffic like a real pro. We had the utmost confidence in him as a driver and he was very nice and accomodating was well. Thank you so much for making our first day in Peru such a wonderful experience. Highly r ecommend!
Alexandra and Victor did an excellent job on the tour. They picked us up on time at our hotel with water and snacks. Alexandra spoke perfect English and was very kind and sensitive to our needs and wishes. Victor drove in a way that made us feel safe, in crazy traffic, while Alexandra helped us understand all the customs, history and culture of Peru. We loved all that we saw; the catacombs, the cathedral, the crypt, the plazas. It was awesome! Highly recommend it!
My husband and I had a great half-day tour of Lima with our guide, Sophia, and our driver, Victor. Victor navigated the hectic Lima traffic smoothly and safely, which made the ride very comfortable. Sophia was an absolute delight—knowledgeable, experienced, and an excellent communicator. We learned so much about the city’s history and culture, and our favorite part of the tour was definitely the catacombs. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Lima in a short amount of time.
If someone gets sick don't cover you you lose your money emergency happens should be entitled to something
Excellent tour. Highly recommend. Appreciate being able to arrange pickup from port as it made things so much easier
This was one of the best city tours we've ever taken. John, our driver, safely maneuvered the insane Lima traffic with skill, ease and great attitude! Alexandra was extremely well informed and directed us with true joy through her city. She was interesting and fun to be with. She was also flexible, altering our tour a little to spend more time in a specific location that we wanted to hear more about. She rerouted us to avoid too many steps for me. Great guide!
I highly recommend this tour. Our guide Sofia was knowledgeable and easy to understand It delivered what was promised and more.
This was an amazing walking tour, good pace, and our guide did a great job of balancing things to speak about with giving us time for photos and to just enjoy the sights. Very informative, and so many great stops! Highly recommend.
Tour was amazing! Alfredo was very knowledgeable and took us to all amazing places, he was very courteous and took photos of us in all places.
Sofia was a lovely guide and had a lot of interesting information. This was a great way to see some of the cities highlights and to check out the catacombs while on limited time here in Lima.
Great tour. My son loved seeing the catacombs. Five star experience. Very knowledgeable and accommodating with the nine year old. Book without fear. Cheers!
Excellent tour to get the daytime feel of Lima. Our guide, Maria was filled with knowledge that she shared with us! So many interestingmg facts! Victor, our driver was excellent in the logistics for our tour! The Catacombs were amazing! This tour is a must do!
A great way to see many of the cities great sights without feeling crowded or rushed Our guide Sophia was really knowledgeable and made the tour really interesting. She gave us plenty of time at each stop and took time to explain everything and take pictures for us. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Sofía our guide was excellent, with very good knowledge. She brought alsomany small details giving us an incredible experience Victor our guide was very careful and also share knowledge about the city Grat experience!
Our guide, Sofia, was very knowledgeable and has a very friendly way about her. I would recommend this tour.
We had a great day exploring Lima with our tour guide Sophia. She was very knowledgeable of the area. The highlights were the temples and then the Basilica where the catacombs are under the church. We also had an impromptu stop at museum del Cafe Peruano where we had an expresso. They are famous for the coffee beans from the amazon side of Peru. You may have heard of the beans and monkey droppings making this famous blend of coffee.....worth a taste for the brave ones out there. Great 4 hour tour especially for your 1st day in Lima
Our tour guide was amazing funny and a great guy to be with he was very knowledgeable and gave us tip to go see other things after the tour was done lovely man who was dressed smart and turned up on time
Mayrol our guide and Victor our driver did an excellent job making this tour enjoyable for us. Our cruise ship dropped us off at one of the Indian markets and they were prompt in meeting us. We visited the Miraflores area along with downtown Lima, including St Francis of Assisi church, the catacombs, the church museum, and the main square. Very enjoyable with the lone exception of very heavy traffic.
