Lima Walking City Tour With Catacombs Museum Visit (Small Group)

Excellent +3 hr tour of downtown historic area and St Francis Monastery & Catacombs. Martin, our guide, was exceptionally informative, engaging, considerate and easy to understand. His deep and detailed knowledge of the history, construction, art, religious practices, and cultural aspects of the monastery and historic area made it a very rich and rewarding experience. Great driver and comfortable vehicle as well. Highly recommend.

Martin was a wonderful resource of knowledge. He shared insights and stories about the places. He made sure we were haven’t a good time and enjoyed the tour. When we had questions he was there to answer them. It gave me a new perspective of South American culture.

We took a tour of historic Lima that included the Saint Francis Monastery and the catacombs. The tour also included transportation from and to the hotel in Miraflores. Our tour guide was Martin. He was awesome!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. We started the tour in Plaza San Martin, to then walk down Union alleyway that took us to Plaza de Armas, and finally the catacombs. It was by far the highlight of our time in Lima. Highly recommended to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Honestly I knew very little about Perú prior to this tour. Rose gave us information pertaining to pottery and the time lines and I learned there was so much more than Inca civilization. I also came to appreciate our advances weren’t so advanced as I thought.

Alexandra was the best tour guide we have had in Peru! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Peru and taught us so much. She was extremely thorough in explaining every attraction we visited. You can tell she is very passionate about Peru! The Catacombs were one of the coolest parts of the tour! It was great learning about the history of some religion.Cesar was also an excellent driver. Overall an incredible experience. Highly recommend! This was a great way to spend our first day in Peru! We were picked up at hotel and then walked the area of Barranco and found great free museums within walking distance of our hotel. We were then shuttled to Mira Flores and discovered many great sites and house both old and new. The highlight was walking through an olive tree park where houses were built right on the middle of it! Amazing to see nature and man made homes in that juxtaposition. We then made it down to the historical plaza of downtown Lima and also walked the catacombs. It was a great experience from door to door Leiden was our tour guide and she was knowledgeable, friendly, inviting, answered all our questions and allowed us to make changes to the itinerary without a hitch. She was a joy to be around and to learn from.

We booked the historical centre tour with Lima Highlights and it was a fantastic experience. Booking and communicating before the tour started was very easy and they were especially accommodating by letting us start the tour a bit later as we had just arrived in Lima late the night before. Our guide, Susan, met us at the hotel at the arranged time and we were driven to the historical centre. Along the way we already learnt a lot about Lima and its history and we learnt so much on the tour overall. Susan was a fantastic guide with a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm. The highlight was to see the Basilica de San Francisco and the catacombs. We also really enjoyed the Pisco tasting! We were then taken back to the hotel making it a really convenient experience too.

This was an excellent trip. Started on time and saw and did everything that we were expecting . Guide was friendly and had good knowledge of all areas visited and more. Highly recommended.

The tour was great and covered a lot of the history and changing architecture. I booked this because it included transportation to and from my hotel. As a woman traveling alone who didn’t speak much Spanish, I was extremely happy to find door-to-door service. William tolerated my many questions and took some of the best pics from my vacation for me. It was a lot to absorb in a short time. I would definitely recommend

We had the best day in Lima with Johnathan as our tour guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with us as we took a lot of photos (he’s a great photographer too!). If you’re looking for a tour that’s a little on the shorter side but still want to learn all of the basics of Lima’s history then I highly recommend signing up for this! And if you can request Johnathan as your tour guide you absolutely should!

Such a beautiful city made even more special by having a knowledgeable and engaging guide. Jonathon’s ability to communicate the history of Peru and the historic area made the tour exceptional. We want to emphasise the care that was taken at the end of the tour to ensure we were dropped off at a safe and secure area was appreciated. This tour is a must when you visit Lima. Jonathan is a great tour guide and has a vast knowledge about Lima and its history. The tour is well organized (pick up and drop off included in the tour). It is very important to discover the city with somebody local who knows where to go, where to access especially during the demonstrations and events in the city (which was my case). Lima has plenty of historical places to offer and without Jonathan it would not be possible to discover them. Plaza de Armas makes a big impression and visit at Catacombs takes you back in time....sad time. In addition I really enjoyed extra visit to chocolate museum. Time passed really passed with Jonathan and I fully recommend this trip to everyone.
