Lima Gourmet Food Tour: Evening Experience

This was a fantastic tour. The places they took us were very tasty and the guide was great! It was an interesting and cultural experience. Highly recommend!

We were in Lima for a couple of days. Our guide was great , Sue. Her English was excellent and she did a great job introducing the group. She also gave us so much history and information on Lima. We did a city tour the next day and learned less from them them.

Fantastic food tour of Lima with Amy! The food was fantastic and the locations gave us a wonderful overview of the area - beautiful venues, especially the one by the ocean and the ruins. Amy was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much about the food and Lima in general. Highly recommend this tour!!

The tour was incredible! Patricia was a very knowledgeable guide and she made us feel very much at home as we visited 4 great spots. All the food was incredible as were the drinks. This perfectly set the stage for a remarkable two weeks in Peru! What a great way to experience the food scene of Lima!

We had a fantastic private food tour with Patricia! She was warm, knowledgeable and wonderful company throughout the evening. We discovered a great variety of Peruvian dishes and flavors while learning about the local food culture along the way. Everything was delicious, and having Patricia as our private guide made the experience feel very personal and relaxed. A perfect way to spend our last evening in Peru!

This was so much more than a food tour - at one venue we had a view of precolumbian ruins! I have been on many food tours, this one was excellent. The Lima food scene is worth a close look.

This was an excellent food tour. Our guide Carlos was friendly, very knowledgeable and energetic. The food options he selected were diverse examples of Peruvian cuisine and all of them were delicious. The coach for traveling from restaurant to restaurant was very comfortable and easily fit our group of 7.

Based on reviews and friend’s recommendation (for morning tour) I have booked evening experience. First 2 restaurants were really nice (both food and atmosphere), but 3rd restaurant and desert place were not on that level. Overall experience didn’t meet my expectation and knowing what I know today I wouldn’t book it.

We truly had an amazing experience. This was, by far, one of our favorite food tours in Peru. What made it especially memorable was our guide, Arthur Paz. His passion for Peruvian culture, history, and cuisine was genuinely contagious. He was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, approachable, and wonderful with our family, taking the time to answer every question and share the stories behind the food in such an engaging way. It was clear how much he truly enjoys what he does and how proud he is to share the richness of Peru with others. A special thank-you as well to Arthur and our driver for going above and beyond when my son left his sweater behind. They immediately let us know and helped make sure we got it back. That thoughtful gesture perfectly reflects the level of care they put into creating a memorable experience. We are very grateful for such a wonderful tour and highly recommend it.

Highly recommend. We got into Lima at noon and decided to take this evening food tour on our first night. Great way to get to know Peru cuisine and get a feeling for Lima neighborhoods. Sue was wonderful and the group of people we were with were engaging and fun.

The Lima Gourmet Food Tour with Arthur was absolutely amazing! The food was beyond delicious, and Arthur was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and informative throughout the entire evening. The small group made it easy to get around and made the experience feel personal. The bus was clean, comfortable, and very well air-conditioned. Each food stop was unique and memorable. Our first stop was a beautiful ceviche at a seaside restaurant overlooking surfers at sunset—so picturesque! The second stop was near historic ruins and featured some of the best dishes of the night. The third stop included a unique cocktail and some of the best croquettes I’ve ever had. We finished at a charming chocolatier, which was the perfect sweet ending to the evening. Afterward, we walked around Barranco, which was a great way to burn off a few calories while learning about the history of the neighborhood and taking in all the beautiful murals. If you’re visiting Lima, go on this tour! The food, the experience, and Arthur’s hospitality made it absolutely worth the price. Highly recommend!

We were guided by Patricia Vasquez, a very dedicated and enthusiastic lady who accompanied us through the city with great knowledge and more than just culinary expertise. She gave fascinating explanations about many dishes and ingredients and, together with the staff in each restaurant, ensured that we enjoyed a very relaxing evening.

Today, I discovered that gastronomy is not measured by the number of dishes served, but by the emotions each one evokes. It began with Peru's most iconic expression of the sea—a classic ceviche, where pristine fish surrendered to the bright acidity of leche de tigre, softened by sweet potato and giant corn. Every bite was a conversation between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes, reminding me that simplicity, when perfected, is extraordinary

This was a great survey of Peruvian food on my first night in Lima. Arturo was very knowledgeable and friendly, and he made the experience even more enjoyable. The variety of food at each stop was great, and I left the evening feeling satiated. I surprised myself by actually liking anticuchos!

We did the evening food tour and it was easily one of the best things we did in Lima. Our guide Amy was fantastic: really knowledgeable without turning it into a walking lecture. We learned a lot about both the city's history and its food, and every stop had a story behind it. The food itself was excellent - gourmet food full of flavour and so plentiful. The tour definitely leans towards people who are happy to try new things, which suited the group perfectly. If you're after chicken nuggets on holiday, this probably isn't your tour. We tasted so many things we would never have otherwise eaten or ordered, or had the chance to try because there were so many different dishes. What surprised me most was how quickly the group clicked. Amy did a great job of getting everyone talking, and by the end of the night it felt more like a group of friends than a bunch of strangers. She shared so much about Lima, it's back story, her story and the politics. We left very full, better informed, and with a growing appreciation for just how seriously Peru takes its food. I'd happily do it again.

Worth paying a little extra for the incredible combination of cocktails and food (would not recommend the wine - terrible!) Guide was knowledgeable and kind. Would recommend if you love your food and enjoy different flavours.

Very nice experience. The gourmet tour was amazing and gave me the possibility to try typical Peruvian food. All was perfect. I have several food allergies as gluten and seafood and I was able to eat almost everything! Kimberly, the guide, was very competent and explained everything in details. Highly recommend

What a great way to get to know the food scene in Barraca and Miraflores. LOTS of good food and great company. Our host, Amy, was amazing. Vibrant and very knowledgeable.

The food was excellent, but learning the history and proper way to prepare and eat the food was even better. Love learning about the different locations. The cultural walk at the end was a bonus.

We had the best time with our tour guide Arthur and Lima Gourmet. Our three-generational family group took the evening tour, and we loved every sip, bite and restaurant. Arthur was knowledgeable, warm, and he showed us three beautiful restaurants. We were only in Lima for a short time, so this was the perfect way to sample ceviche, traditional appetizers, steak and desserts.

First of all, we absolutely loved our tour guide Amy. I highly recommend her. She made the event so positive and fun. What a greatgirl and extremely knowledgeable. The restaurant selections were fantastic everywhere you show up the food is basically ready for you when you get there or you wait five minutes so you really get a fantastic curated experience in every restaurant. The restaurants they take you to are very well chosen with a seat next to the ocean sitting ata table next to the ruins and then a quaint café. It was well worth the money. At the end, they top it off with a brief little walk and a discussion of some of the local history.

Outstanding food in wonderful locations. Our guide Kimberly picked us up at our hotel and we just had to sit back, relax and enjoy the delicious food and company of fellow travelers. It was a truly gourmet experience. The flavors and presentation of the food and drinks were amazing. There’s a lot of food so go hungry.

Book without hesitation it is really enjoyable, good food and beautiful restaurants. My guide Sue was so knowledgable and personable that she made it a truly memorable experience. I am not a big meat eater or drinker of spirits so she arranged alternatives for which I’m very grateful. The seaweed cones at the archeological site restaurant were my favourite but the coffee ice cream as a alternative at the chocolate venue was also lovely.

This was a great way to start out our vacation in Lima. We read a lot about Peruvian cuisine and this was the way to get the best experience. Arthur was positive, enthusiastic, and made sure the group connected well. There were five guests (all different ages), we got along great(we traded contact info at the end!), and it was delicious food. . Food was a gracious plenty, and featured all the specialties including ceviche, beef hearts, corn (it's so good in Peru!0, etc. We also had Peruvian cocktails and wine, which were tasty. it was easy going, fun, and the restaurants were all excellent. We went to a highly rated restaurant tonight, and honestly, I was disappointed after our fare last night.

Our guide was fantastic taking us to some very good local restaurants with amazing views and delicious food as well as local drinks at each of our stops. Our guide was extremely thorough and knowledgeable about the food and the city and answering any questions we had, was great getting to explore the city this way. Would highly recommend to anyone in Lima to book this tour!

The food is amazing as are the locations. It was a bit rushed we felt, and we thought we were seeing a bit more if barranco in the evening, but overall an amazing night. And a big thank you and well done for being so accommodating when our flight was late!

This culinary tour was one of the highlights of our time in Lima. Each restaurant had a different vibe so we experienced a cross section and the food in each was both delicious and beautifully presented. Portions were quite generous, but we werent uncomfortably full at the end. Our guide, Amy, had wonderful energy and was extremely well informed, and also just fun. She definitely contributed to our enjoyment of the evening. We highly recommend this tour.

She took us to amazing places with stunning views, excellent cuisine and she did a wonderful job of explaining everything. We learned so much about the cuisine, but also about Peruvian culture and day-to-day life. She was also very attentive and accommodating about eating restrictions.
