Lydia was an incredible guide. She was lovely, gracious and knowledgeable. We expected a food tour, but we’re delighted to get a tour of the Barancco neighborhood as well. Everywhere we stopped the food , ambience and service was exceptional. Breakfast a a lovely cafe in Barancco overlooking the ocean, an upscale restaurant where we learned how to make pisco sours and a coconut ceviche and then lunch at the marvelous restaurant overlooking the ancient pyramid ruins. Go on the tour with an empty stomach.

Lidia was a joy. Spending part of the day with her was a gift. Her knowledge of Lima and Peruvian culture was unsurpassed. She listen to our questions and adapted our tour to touch all we mentioned. The selected of restaurants were beautiful and food was excellent. Once again Lidia was a gift!!!
A lovely food tour. Quite expensive but worth the money for the quality of food and locations. It felt very special and I enjoyed my time immensely. Lots of food so make sure to not eat too much before!
Patricia our guide was simply superb. Knowledgeable and able to inform, educate and entertain. She was great company. The tour itself was outstanding. From coffee through to dessert at lunchtime we weee treated to Peruvian cuisine at its finest. We ate and drank typical, classic Peruvian dishes as well as those elevated to finer cuisine. Although there was a lot to eat and drink it was spread out over some 5 1/2 hours and was never too much. The highlight for us was the Pisco Sour Mixologist and Ceviche class. A great day Thank you Patricia.
Patricia was Awesome and the food was great
We had a great time on this food tour through Barranco and Miraflores. Arthur picked us up on time and we had a comfortable trip around town learning not only about the local food, but also the history of the area and artwork that decorates the streets. Arthur was enthusiastic and lovely to chat to, and kept everything running smoothly. I chose this tour as they mentioned on their website that they cater to a gluten free diet - as a celiac it is often difficult to find operators who cater to my dietary requirement. I could eat everything except one dish on this tour, which were all very delicious and Arthur always helped me double check that the dish was gluten free, taking the stress off of me. Thank you Arthur and Lima Gourmet for a delicious and fun morning!
I had the best time on the daytime food tour! The tour was very laid back and knowledgeable, all the food was delicious and a good mix of walking around and sightseeing and also experiencing the good of Lima. 10/10 would book again!
Would highly recommend this tour as an intro to Lima and food scene in Peru. Sue was a wonderful guide- a very authentic and positive person, and the food stops were both scenic and delicious.
Patricia was the best. She took us to a nice variety of places. Plus she shared her knowledge and love of Lima. It was a well planned tour with lots of experiences and information.
Sue is a terrific guide. The meals were highly varied, representative of Peruvian cuisine. Much fun. The whole group enjoyed it.
This was a beautifully organized, informative and delicious introduction to Lima. Five stars all around—I highly recommend it! Our guide, Lydia, was terrific—knowledgeable, engaging and attentive to everyone’s needs. You can tell that she truly loves Lima, and her enthusiasm for the city made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Our driver, Elloy, was courteous and helpful, and the vehicle was immaculate, clean and seemingly brand-new. The selection of stops was excellent, and the food was terrific. We enjoyed breakfast, peruvian coffee, tapas, drinks and then a delicious lunch overlooking Huaca Pucllana, a beautiful archaeological site. I could not have asked for more, or better choices. One of the highlights for me was visiting the Jade Rivera gallery in Barranco, during our walk. It was a memorable addition to an already excellent tour. Our group included two vegetarians and one person who does not drink alcohol. We were a mix of couples and solo travelers of all ages. Everyone was accommodated thoughtfully and graciously. We all agreed the food was top notch and the tour was really well done. The company communicated very well before and after the tour and even followed up by sending us a link to the recipes.
The guide was very polite and knowledgeable. Explained every aspect of the tour to perfection. 10/10
We had a great experience sampling Lima's different food offerings, from cafe' fare, to an upscale restaurant and the various versions of Pisco Sour (one made with purple corn) at a trendy bar. We also visited a few modern art galleries as a party of the tour. Our tour guide, Amy Makiya (who was fluent in English), was great at weaving in the cultural and historical background of Peru/Lima during the food and gallery tours. The tour could not have been any better!
What a wonderful day we had on this gourmet food tour. Our guide Kimberly was very informative, sharing historical information along with information on the different foods we were trying. I would highly recommend this tour, if you have the time, while in Lima.
This was a wonderful way to begin our Peru trip. Kimberly was a wonderful guide, fun and knowledgeable! The places we ate were in interesting areas and beautiful venues. Everyone along the way was friendly and helpful. The best part, of course, was the absolutely outstanding food.
Good food with an excellent tour guide, Sue, who explained the history and culture of Lima as well as the Japanese & Chinese influence on Peruvian food today.
We had a great day with Amy! She gave us a great overview of Miraflores and Barranco, helped us e perform e the Lima food scene and was great to speak with in general. Amy also left us with some other recommendations for restaurants which was great too.
Our guide Carlos was punctual and polite. He was as interested in us and our backgrounds as we were in his. It was clear he was deeply interested in food and eating and it was pleasure to have time spent with someone who was so personable and proud of his country. We got the full “Cook’s tour” in so many ways. We were not rushed but still so much was seen and eaten! A wonderful way to spend the morning.
Amy was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful during our food tour while in Lima. We had an excellent time and learned so much about the food and culture of the city and the surrounding areas thanks to Amy. We can’t wait to come back in the future and request her for future tours!!
We found the gide very friendly and enjoyed interacting with her, She was very attentive with all our questions. Please please ask that patrons not smoke in the tour group.
I had the most magnificent experience with Patricia as our tour guide. It was more like catching up with an old friend and experiencing life through their eyes. 10/10
Excellent tour with Patricia, who was so friendly and informative - I would 100% recommend it, as it covered so many interesting areas in Lima and especially all the delicious food on offer!
This is a fantastic experience if you want to get an overview of Lima’s culture and food traditions. I went with my husband and 2 college-aged sons. We sampled a variety of cuisines from fantastic coffee, delicious ceviche, and traditional Peruvian food overbooking Pre-Inca ruins. Lorenza is a terrific tour guide and very knowledgeable. Albert is a very professional driver. I loved that this tour was private for our family only. Our family are foodies and we firmly believe you cannot enjoy a country unless you enjoy their local cuisine! Would recommend to all our friends.
I took this tour on the last day of my month-long trip to Peru, and it was the perfect way to end an incredible vacation. The experience got off to a great start. I was picked up right outside my Airbnb in Miraflores, and the driver arrived right on time, making everything easy and stress-free. Our guide, Kimberly, was outstanding. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about Peruvian food and culture. She encouraged everyone to step outside their comfort zone and try new dishes, while also being very accommodating to those in the group who were picky eaters or had dietary preferences. The tour began with a walk through the historic district of Barranco, where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pan con chicharrón and coffee at a charming café. There were several beverage options available, which was a nice touch. We also visited an art gallery, adding some cultural context to the morning. Next, we stopped for a lúcuma shake. I had tried one earlier during my trip and loved it, so I was excited to have another. It was every bit as delicious as I remembered. We also visited a local market, where we sampled a variety of fresh Peruvian fruits. One of the highlights was our visit to Limaná, where we watched a pisco sour being prepared and learned how to make coconut ceviche ourselves. We also enjoyed a fantastic appetizer before heading to another restaurant located at an archaeological site, which made for a unique and memorable setting. Everything was well organized, the food was excellent, and the variety of experiences made the tour feel like much more than just a food tour. It combined history, culture, and incredible cuisine into one enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this tour. It was an excellent value for the price and one of the highlights of my time in Lima.
Artur was our guide. We were picked up promptly from our hotel. The first stop was for coffee and breakfast. This was followed by a walk in the Barranco neighbourhood with explanations about the murals and artists. A stop for a smoothie drink made of lumuca and milk and then we were off to the local market for a visual treat of a colourful display of fruits and vegetables of all sizes and shapes. We were given a surprise box of exotic fruits. Next stop for a demonstration and taste of pIsco sour and a ceviche. This was followed by a three course lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking the Huaca Pucilana. The food and drinks at all stops were excellent and full of flavour. One of the best food tours I have done and Artur did an excellent job with his explanations and helpful advice.
One of the best food tours we’ve ever been on. Our Guide was very knowledgable and super friendly. Food was exceptional. Great way to tour the neighbourhood Lima and understand the food and culture better.
The experience was beyond expectations. Great choices of places and food experience. A bit pricy, but was worth it.
A great experience in Lima. Arthur was a verry good guide who told us verry interresting facts about Lima and all the different kinds of food. Everything was super delicious!
Amy was our guide and did an excellent job! We did the morning tour. Arrive hungry!! Lots of wonderful food. Excellent coordination of van times in between food locations. I don't drink alcohol and she made sure I had a wonderful/delicious Mocktail at each location that served alcohol. Enjoyed every minute of this tour!! Definitely highly recommend!!
The Lima Gourmet Food Tour was the best food tour we have experienced. Our guide Amy was an absolute professional, great communicator, with a wealth of knowledge, and a sunny personality to match! From the start to end of the tour everything ran smoothly and timed to perfection, also thanks to our excellent driver and comfortable transportation. Every stop was special and gave us a good overview of Lima food and scenery. The tour stops were well curated, providing lots of varied tastings of delicious morsels in unique locations, some which we visited again on our own. I would highly recommend this tour, as the level of care and attention to detail were beyond our expectations. Thank you Amy and Lima Gourmet Company for giving us a memorable experience!
Fabulous introduction to Peruvian cuisine plus a wealth of more general information about Lima. These tours depend largely on the quality of your guide and Arthur was fantastic - charming, knowledgeable and great company. Highly recommended.
Well organised cultural experience, with great opportunity to sample local cuisine. Our guide Arthur was extremely engaging and knowledgeable, very friendly . . All dietary requirements catered for
Great food tour. This was a nice taste of Peru. Our tour guide Arthur, was very nice.
Kudos to the Lima Gourmet team - and especially Arthur, our Tour Guide - for an absolutely fantastic tour! The tour was not only about EATING our way through Lima, but also learning about the history, cultural significance and subtle nuances of the Lima/Peru food scene. Everything from starting out with great Peruvian coffee, to making our own ceviche, to spending time outside of pre-Incan ruins enjoying a delicious meal… it was just a very impactful tour. Highly recommended!
We had a fantastic food tour. Patricia was a wonderful guide. All the food was delicious and we enjoyed each place on our tour. Learned all about the different fruits from Peru at the market, made our own cerviche and had some lovely wine and delightful peruvian dishes overlooking Huaca Pucllana. Lima is truly a food lover's paradise and this tour is a "must do" while in Lima.
We did the tour on our first day in Lima. It was timely and well organized. Gave us a good overview and exposure to Peruvian dishes, ingredients and food culture, and to two key Lima districts — Barranco and Miraflores. The finale meal was at a super interesting historical setting and food was interesting and well done. Our guide, Patricia, was delightful and knowledgeable. I would request her again.
This was such a wonderful way to get to know Lima. Our guide, Arturo, was so knowledgeable and friendly, he taught us so much about the history and culture. I 100% recommend this tour for anyone coming to Lima who wants to learn more about the culture and food in a fun and interactive way.
Our family had the most amazing experience. This is by far our favourite food tour we have done. Our guide, Patricia Vásquez, was incredible and really made the experience special. Highly recommend doing this food tour if visiting Lima.
Food was top tier gourmet. They were accommodating for my vegetarian diet. Walking was mild and minimum so anyone can participate. Come hungry! Lots of amazing dishes. Carlos took very good care of us.
Our guide Sue was very knowledgeable, flexible and fun!. Our group learned a lot about Peruvian food and culture. Best part of our Lima experience.
What an amazing experience this food tour was! Sue was our guide, and she was so knowledgeable about Peruvian cuisine, history, culture - everything! I learned so much! She took wonderful care of us and selected a perfect assortment of food for us to sample. The tour was very intimate (6 people) so we had a chance to get to know one another and really enjoy the day together. I am so glad I found this tour and booked it for my first day in Lima. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Great small-group tour, our guide Kimberly was so friendly and helpful - highly recommend and we finished feeling very full of delicious food!
This food tour with Lima Gourmet was so good. Our guide Sue was so knowledgeable of the area, the food, the Lima food scene and its history. We did a little walk through the Barranco area after our first stop and it was great to see the area during the day time and all the artwork in the area. This was truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend to anyone wanting to try the local cuisines with an understanding of why each item us important to the local culture. The food we tasted at each stop was so incredible, we almost booked the evening food tour for the same day so we could try even more local options.
Sui was knowledgeable, friendly and introduced us to the real Peruvian cuisine. Can’t recommend her and the team enough
Wonderful food tour with Arthur. Tasted many Peruvian dishes, had pisco sour and made ceviche. Arthur did great job explaining the history and culture of the food.
We had an amazing experience with our fabulous guide Patricia today, we ate some incredible food, even prepared our own cerviche, drank pisco sours, discovered the beautiful areas of Lima and got a history tour as well. A fantastic morning and Patricia was a delightful tour guide.
We had a great experience on this tour with Patricia! My husband has a dairy allergy and she made sure to accommodate it at every stop. We learned SO much and it was a wonderful way to experience the three top neighborhoods of Lima and ensure we got the full Peruvian cuisine experience. The tour was very well spread out so that you didn't get too full with all the stops and even included a lovely walk and stop at a local art gallery. Overall, I highly recommend this tour! It was a highlight of our time in Lima.
Thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Kimberley. All 5 stops provided a wonderful tasting opportunity. Kimberley explained what each dish was and made sure all food preferences were taken care off. Kimberley was also a wonderful guide providing insight to the people of Peru.
Started with a leisurely walk to first venue, a coffee and sandwich shop. Robust flavor and a perfectly baked roll made the visit worthwhile. The subsequent restaurants presented a tasty treat in a quaint setting. Other highlights included a lesson on making a Pisco Sour and a chef led, hands on demonstration for making coconut ceviche. Our guide, Kimberly, was knowledgeable and kept us on schedule with humor. Worked rate this 5/5.
We did this tour our first day in Lima and it was incredible! Each stop was better than the last. We loved being able to make our own coconut ceviche and the lucuma con leche was such an expected treat. Kimberly was an excellent host and did an awesome job of sharing not only the food and how it relates to Peru and Peruvian culture but so many other parts of Lima, like the history, geography, and art. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to eat well and enjoy the city!
