Really good cathedral to visit, cost 30 sol to enter, OK for price, normally not impressed to be charged to walk into a place of worship but this cathedral worth it. Most cathedrals you walk in and walk out after 5 minutes, however Lima cathedral has lots to see and hundreds of years of history to explore. Loved the crypts of the archbishops beneath the alter, and the area to see original foundations of the church. Make sure you visit while seeing Plaza Mayor and presidential palace.

Impressive structure and nicely done. The church shows a lot of handwork. We got a tour which is included within the price by Danitza. She had profound knowledge of the church and helped us to understand and know things that were not written on any plate. Totally worth a visit, some parts of the church are unfortunately under construction.

I tried coming to the cathedral several times, but finally this year I was able to visit. Had a wonderful, very informative tour and was able to hear the history of Peru during colonial times through the art in this church by a very knowledgeable, and art historian docent: Ruth Ramos.

Absolutely worth visiting. Rosa Maria was our amazing guide that talked not only about the cathedral but also about Peru’s interesting history. We joined a Spanish speaking group because we didn’t have time to wait for an English tour and she took time to translate for us as we were moving between exhibits. We learned a lot! Thank you.

Let me be honest…this tour was AMAZING! Honestly I was able to learn more about the Peruvian Cathedral and its history. Our guide Rosa Mariá was very nice and made everyone feel welcome. She did an outstanding job showing us around the museum and explaining things. p.s. - Knowing Spanish is recommended because it’s the primary language of the tour.
