This was an amazing full day experience never to be repeated for me so very special; it was a long day and very tiering but well worth it. My guide was excellent as was the driver. It was expensive for me as a solo traveller as no concession was made to reflect this.

One hour tour on the Ballestas Islands to watch wild life
Experience one of the world’s greatest archaeological mysteries from above on a scenic flight over the Nazca Lines. Fly over the vast desert landscapes of southern Peru, where enormous ancient figures and geometric shapes are etched into the ground, visible only from the air. Marvel at the precision and scale of these enigmatic designs, which have fascinated people for centuries. The flight reveals the beauty of the arid Palpa and Nazca deserts, offering an unparalleled view of this UNESCO World Heritage Site and a deeper appreciation of Peru’s ancient civilizations. Note: Depending on availability, the flight may depart from either Pisco or Nazca Airport. Note: The Nazca Lines flight schedule is given by the airline 24 hours before the tour. This could affect the order of activities (example: first Ballestas Islands, then Huacachina Oasis, and at the end the flight).

Great tour with experienced and friendly guide, Jesus, and his skilled driver. Appreciated his talks with digital photos. Expect a long day with three amazing stops - boat tour, air over Nazca, and dune buggies but long drives between. Highly recommended. Only negative and not 5 stars was that the back seats in the van were exruciating painful for anyone over 5'2".
When I booked this trip the title specifically said ‘Overflight of the Nazca lines from Pisco airport’. The tour title was changed yesterday after my complaint to them about my experience. I booked with this company because they offered the flight from Pisco which saves more than 7 hours in the car driving to Nazca. Only once we were 3 hours into the trip was I informed that we were driving to and from Nazca to take the flight (7+ additional hours). If the tour operator could not deliver on the departure airport of Pisco, they should have contacted me in advance and given me the option to cancel the trip or proceed with the longer journey. They did not do that and just changed the trip without informing me. Don’t be fooled by the references to Pisco which you still find throughout the current tour description. They still haven’t entirely cleaned up the timeline from what I booked and you’ll still find references to going to Pisco airport. Don’t count on it.
Pickup for us was 3:30 am. A little over three hours drive for the boat ride. Miguel definitely had us moving because of how far you had to drive from place to place. We got there bathroom coffee and on the boat. Once we were done it was another 3-4 hours to the airport. Bathroom and then practically right on the plane. While you are on the plane he is ordering your lunch. We had like 10 minutes to souvenir shop after and then lunch in the van for another three hours back up to hauchachina. Once we got there bathroom and immediately walk up and jump on a dune buggy and sandboarding thing. Took some pictures and then 3 hours back to lim. Hotel by 11:30pm. It was a long day but we saw alot learned alot our guide took lots of photos and videos of us and sent them to me. Be prepared to rush at each location and nap in the van. We got lucky and it was just us so we practically had a private tour. Otherwise it could have been miserable in the van.
We had a wonderful day and overall great experience. We were able to see a lot in a very short amount of time, but the pace felt rushed throughout the day. We even ended up paying our tour operator and driver extra just so we could stop for food at the end, as no time had been carved out for meals. That said, the tours at each location were truly 5-star and a definite highlight. We just wish we had a bit more time to enjoy each stop without feeling so rushed. Hats off to our driver—he was incredibly fast!
Great tour! Many nice sights in one long day. The guide was nice and friendly. I really enjoyed seeing the Penguins, the flight over the Nazca lines and the ride in car at Huacachina in the sunset. I think we may have had time to eat in the restaurant at Nazca, it was a bit uncomfortable eating in the car, though we saved some time going back to Lima. Good to eat after the flight as it was quite an experience for the body. This was an intense tour with so many nice and beautiful sights.
Long day but worth doing it. Ballesta Island, overflight Nazca lines and Buggy with sandbording. The flight over Nazca too short and fast I would say.
Pros: Very responsive. Good guides Cons: they are just aggregators and find the cheapest vendor to fulfil the task which often hit and miss. One is ok .. but 3 times is no coincidence.. Consider this: 1) on the tour to Nazca lines the car driver stopped at a small gas station with the filthiest of toilets even though there was much bigger and modern station on the other side of the road. The women had a tough time.. 2) on the tour to rainbow mountain the driver had to stop to get a spare tyre fixed for puncture which according to the guide happened the previous day 3) The driver for a railway station transfer in Cusco never turned up. We has to rush and find a taxi last minute. This in spite of him confirming the he would be coming on time just 30 minute prior to the transfer time….
Three incredible experiences in one day. It makes for a long day but very much worth it! I did wish Paracas was the first stop but not a major issue.
It was a spectacular day. The dune buggy ride and sand boarding were thrilling. The Island boat tour was very interesting and we saw penguins, many other birds and sea lions. The guide was very informative. The Nazca lines were a dream come true for me. The pilot was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we were able to see the figures from each side of the plane. I highly recommend this tour.
Spent the day traveling with a small group of friends exploring Nasca, Oasis, and Ballaste Islands. Even made it back earlier enough for our flights outta Lima. Jonathan was a wonderful guide and spent time telling us about the history of local areas we were visiting. Even a small pisco sampling during lunch to end another great trip to Lima!
It was a long day but surely worth traveling to see the wild sea life in Ballestas, Nazca lines, and Huacachina Oasis. Our guides are Aimen and Jonathen. They were nice. Only if we have known that the Nazca Line flight might cause motion sickness, we have taken the pills to alleviate the symptoms. Thank you guys for long driving and guiding.
Nazca lines were worthy of the early morning and long and uncomfortable ride in a mini van with no leg room
The worst tour I ever taken. Picked time was 4:30am. However, at 4 am I received a text from the guide telling me to hurry up because he has more person to pick up. By 4:15 we were already in a minivan with other 2 tourists. The guide never introduced himself or introduced the driver. He told us we were to enter the Panamericana road and the reason of that name was because the road goes to many countries. He went ahead and said “I know you must be tired” so go ahead an rest. 2 hours into the drive, the driver stop to use the bathroom, only for men because there were nothing for us. We arrived to Paracas and were hurry in a line to a boat. The boat was shared with other 30 persons, therefore we couldn’t go near the rocks or in between because of the boat size( no as shown on the picture). The information was good and the site interesting. Once back on the port, we were taken to an stand to buy “something fast” because we needed to go. I refused to buy from the stand because it was filthy. I walked into a restaurant near by, and asked for a sandwich to go but our guide informed the waiter not to put the order if time was more than 15 min. I this point I was very upset and disappointed. I felt trapped without way to go back to Lima. My husband took his medications with a juice and we left the restaurant. Only to wait 15 minutes in a curved until the driver picked us up. We them way to Huacachina. ( As per schedule we were supposed to go to Pisco Airport for the Nazca Lines tour). Upon arrival we were introduced to a men that supposedly would rent us a sand buggy. He asked the guide in spanish how much he can charge us and he said $60 dollars each!!?? The other 2 tourists decided not to do the buggy, then our guide( Jair) came and said the tour will be $70 dollars since the other people won’t do it!! We decided to find another company to rent the buggy ( there are many in Huacachina) but Jair said we couldn’t go with other people. We them decided not to do anything. We walk to a restaurant and to my surprise Jair was behind us to let us know we have 30 minutes to eat. We ordered a ceviche and 2 beers. Ate as fast as possible not to be late. Towards the end of our rapid appetizer/ lunch Jair came to let us know that our flight to Nazca Lines was delayed for 2 hours due to a mistake from the agency. ( So we could’ve lunch and enjoy the place, instead we rushed one more time.) We finally made to the airport where we wait until 4:30 for our flight ( initially scheduled for 12:15) The pilot was excellent and the airport staff very pleasant. At the end of the flight we ere given a certificate and offered to take pictures with the plane/ pilot. We them hot back in the minivan with no stop until Lima, despite the other tourists request to use the bathroom. We arrived to our hotel in Lima at 10:30 pm, needless to said all restaurants near us were closed because it was Sunday. We ended the night with a piece of cake and a tea. No once Jair give an explanation of places we pass by or even interact with anything that was not his phone. As per the driver he was very rude even with Jair. We all have difficulties opening the van door, he got mad to need to get out of the car and said “ how many times do i need to teach that? Jair no once open assistance to get out the car or get in. The guy gave me the impression he was feeling for someone else. Please don’t be fooled by this people. There is many companies that offer the same experience for a fracción of what they charge. This experience doesn’t cost $550.
The trip was excellent from start to finish, exceeding all expectations. Jonathon our tour guide made the trip providing helpful tour & local information throughout. It was a long day with a lot packed in but all elements of the day added to the experience. A memorable highlight of our visit to Peru.
What an incredible day we had exploring the beautiful region of Paracas with Jonathan as our private guide! From start to finish, Jonathan provided us with an amazing and authentic experience. Jonathan picked us up bright and early at 3am, and immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable in his vehicle. Throughout the day, his driving was excellent - he navigated the roads safely and efficiently, allowing us to sit back and take in the stunning desert landscapes. Our first stop was the Paracas National Reserve, where we took a boat out to the Ballestas Islands. Jonathan pointed out the diverse array of endangered marine life, including sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and dozens of species of seabirds. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna was incredibly impressive. After the boat tour, Jonathan drove us to some amazing viewpoints where we could see the famous Nazca lines etched into the desert floor. It was a breathtaking sight, and Jonathan provided great context and history about this archaeological wonder. For lunch, Jonathan took us to a wonderful local restaurant that served up authentic Peruvian cuisine and pisco sours. The food was delicious, and Jonathan made sure we tried all the regional specialties. Throughout the day, Jonathan was an absolute delight to be around. He was friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about sharing the beauty of his country with visitors. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. We can't recommend Jonathan highly enough as a private guide in Peru. His expertise, hospitality, and genuine care for his guests made our day trip an absolute joy from start to finish. We're so grateful we had the chance to explore this stunning region with him.
Went for a one-day tour to Ballestas, Nazca Lines Overflight & Huacachina Oasis. Our guide, Aymen, took a great care of everything. He is so knowledgeable and will patiently explain every question you asked. I personally love how he shared his story with Peru and how he felt while living in Lima. Travel Buddies Peru and Aymen still host some other tours like one-day Lima tour or other customized tour. And this experience is so great that if I would visit Peru again, I would still want to register their tour and cooperate with them!
This trip truly exceeded my expectations. The flight over the Nazca Lines was phenomenal and the commentary provided by the flight crew was great. They flew over each feature twice to make sure both side of the plane got a good view. Ballestas Island was beautiful and as a bonus we say a seal and whale on the way out. But the real surprise was the Huacachina Oasis. A beautiful site and the dune buggy rides and sandboarding (unexpected surprise) was the perfect and exciting cap to a long (16 hour) day. The tour guide was phenomenal. Extremely helpful and I cannot say enough about the driver whose patience with the horrendous Lima traffic was commendable. Do not miss this opportunity of you have the chance to do this tour,
Overall, we were very pleased with this tour! It is a long day but flies by and covers some major sites in the area. We booked through the companies website and they were great at communication with us regarding pickup time and questions we had. We came prepared and packed snacks and water for day. We stopped at a connivence store about an hour into the drive for a bathroom break and snacks. The cafe was not open but we bought some premade sandwiches. Nothing fancy but lots of selection. We then did our boat tour and our guide, Sergio, got us to the front of the line with little waiting time. We then continued our trip to Huacachina, where our guide told us interesting facts and lore of the area and took us for a walk around the oasis. We had the option to eat a quick lunch but decided to spend our time exploring instead and ate the snacks we brought. We did the sand boarding and dune buggy ride, which was my personal highlight! Then we ended the day with the Nazca line flight. We had a bit of a wait at the airport but that had nothing to do with the tour. The wait was definitely worth it. I was worried about gettting sick as I dislike flying to start with and have a minor fear of heights. I took some gravol beforehand and grabbed some lemon candies at the front desk and was fine the whole flight. This tour is definitely worth the money as you get a small car to take you around which is by far quicker than bus transportation. You also get to leave your bag in the car so you don’t need to worry about carrying around sunscreen, snacks, water, etc. you also have someone who speaks the language and is aggressive enough to get you to the front of the lines which is great! Lastly, we always were brought to clean bathrooms at tour group offices rather than having to use the public bathrooms at the places we stopped. I highly recommend this tour!
Picked up on time (5.30am) at hotel by guide Sergio and driver Martin. Both excellent. Flying over the Nazca Lines was a big tick off my bucket list and I loved this experience. Small plane and 4/10 passengers were either sick or queasy and not enjoying = I loved it. Everyone has a window seat and the plane banks at 45degree left and right so you all get a clear view. Ballestas lake = again a great experience. Speed boat ride (24 passengers) - with a cover so you are not in blazing sun. Taken to various features - geological and archeological and then to colonies of sea lions. Only saw a couple of penguins, but a lot of other sea life. Water so clear. Tour buddies had made sure I was on a boat with an English speaking guide so I missed nothing. Huacachina Oasis - beautiful, but more commercialised and busy than I expected - and I went on a week day in ‘low season’. Lots of activities like paddle boating, sand buggy drive etc if you wanted to indulge. Although I was doing this on my own (62) it would be great for families with teenagers who like a bit of a thrill. it’s a Long day out though. 3 1/2 hours to first destination, short trips between lake, airport and oasis, but then 4 hours back (and I didn’t do dune buggies). Extremely comfortable car - Big SUV. Lots of breaks to grab snacks, restrooms etc. Sergio kept me entertained with information about the local culture, history, Music and even ghost stories. They ensured my safety and enjoyment all through the day and gave me tips for other trips (winery) but I am flying back to UK today.
What an amazing day! Starting with the prompt pick up at 4:30 a.m., Ruddy the guide and Rudolfo the driver treated me to a very memorable, very long day. I chose this tour since it shaved hours off the tour time as compared to the other available tours, and I am so glad I did. Ballestas (three hour drive from Lima) was beautiful, with fewer animals than I imagined but the stunning rock formations and arches made up for that. Then it was off to Pisco airport(a twenty minute drive) for the most important part of the tour for me- the Nazca lines. I do not suffer from motion sickness, though I am happy Ruddy recommended that I take some of the lemon candies available at the check in counter as they helped with some touch and go moments for my stomach as we banked left and right so everyone got a good view of the lines. From there we went to Huacachina(a one hour drive) which was more beautiful than I expected. I ended up not doing to dune buggy and sandboarding as it was quite hot and there is a bit of an uphill walk through the sand, that I was not in the mood for, to reach the point where the activities start but I completely enjoyed strolling around the oasis and having something to eat and drink. Then back to Lima(a four hour drive). I'm not a lover of long car rides in general, but Ruddy and Rudolfo stopped a few times for me to at least get out of the car and stretch for a few minutes before continuing on. Arrived back at 9:30 p.m., exhausted and happy. Ruddy speak English well, is very friendly and full of facts and information, which I greatly appreciated. Rudolfo is a kind man and an excellent driver. Together they are a great team and treated me incredibly well. Five stars all the way.
Pablo from Travel Buddies helped us craft an amazing private tour for our family of 5 to Peru. We had Ruddy as our great guide to take us through Lima to Huacachina, Ballestas Islands, and the incredible Nazca Lines. We then had a wonderful tour guide, Lenin from Cusco who ably guided us to Rainbow Mountain, dealing very professionally with one of our party who suffered from altitude sickness. The following days we travelled with Lenin to Chinchero, Ollantaytambo and the magnificent Machu Picchu. We highly recommend the professional and wonderful Travel Buddies tour company. Thank you!
Highly recommend. Stress free day site seeing. Only word of caution is that the flight over the nazca lines is not for those with a weak stomach. Ruddy was our guide, he didn’t an excellent job. Proficient English. Just book it, won’t regret it.
A lot of beautiful scenery and unforgettable things about peru! Our guide Sergio was great at what he did and very friendly, knowledgeable andvpersonable
This was an incredible way to see some of the famous sites near Lima. It was a long day, but so worth it. We got to Huacachina before the crowds, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Plus, the dune buggies and sand surfing were so much fun. We were able to see a bunch of animals on the cruise of the Ballestas Islands, including flamingoes, penguins, and sea lions. Finally, the Nazca Lines are unlike anything else I’ve ever seen! Such an incredible day!
The way the tour guides ( Aymen/Aiman and Sergio ) kept us interested and entertained on the long drives to and from Nazca Lines from Lima. The mixed itinerary of boat/island/wildlife, desert oasis , a fine lunch, and the Nazca flight experience was what made it a unique and great tour. Hats off to our very friendly and knowledgeable tour guides who gave us a great inside into contemporary Peru, Peru history and culture ! Try to ask for them if you decide to take a tour , you won't be disappointed!
The tour guide was very kind and friendly. I really enjoyed the small group trip and I will never forget the wonderful experience. Although this tour is a little bit tough (it starts very early in the morning and ends at night), it is worthwhile and I truly recommend it.
Our tour guide made a extremely long day manageable. Was surprise by the beauty of Ballestas Islands . Only down .I wish we had more information and history of the Nazca line specially in the flight we only got names
The itinerary posted on TripAdvisor for this tour is not accurate. Each leg takes much longer than is estimated. My experience was that it was not possible to do all of the activities in 16 hours. Here is what my day looked like: 4:30 am - picked up from hotel in Lima 4:30-7:30 am - drove from Lima to Ballestas 7:30-8:15 am - wait to board boat 8:15-9:45 am - Ballestas boat tour 9:45 am-12:25 pm - Short drive from Ballestas to airport; wait for a couple of hours in empty airport for flight 12:25-2:15 pm - flight over Nazca lines 2:15-4:00 pm - drive to Huacachina 4:00-4:15 pm - tour Huacachina 4:15-8:20 pm - drive from Huacachina to hotel in Lima The driver, Rodolfo, had a really hard time staying awake during the drive from Lima to Ballestas. He kept nodding off, causing the car to decelerate rapidly until he snapped awake. He was able to get a nap in while I was on the boat tour, so his driving improved after that, but I was very concerned for my safety during that first leg. The boat tour was interesting and it was cool to see the wildlife and candelabra carving, but I wasn't able to hear what the tour operator was saying because the microphone kept cutting out. Also, I didn't have a great view because I had an aisle seat and had to view past other passengers. The Nazca lines flight was the highlight of the tour. It was really cool to see so many of the lines in person from a bird's eye view. Unfortunately, my tour guide, Miguel, was not there to greet me when I landed. Another family's tour guide very kindly stayed with me until Miguel showed up about 10 minutes late. Huacachina looked like it is a very neat spot, but I was disappointed that I did not get to spend much time there. There was no time to see the sights, rent a buggy, or do anything in Huacachina aside from take a brief stroll around the oasis and stop at the restroom before it was time to head home. We were only able to stay 10-15 minutes. I did not have a meal at all during this tour. I was advised not to eat before my flight, so I did not eat breakfast and I did not get an opportunity to eat until late afternoon. There was no time to grab a bite before leaving for Huacachina or while in Huacachina, so I had to settle for grabbing a bag of chips from the convenience store that we stopped at on our return trip from Huacachina to Lima. That was probably around 4:30-5 pm. I did not realize when I booked this tour that I would be the only passenger. I didn't think I was booking a private tour, and I would have enjoyed spending this time with other tourists. Instead, it was just me, the driver, and the tour guide. My guide asked me if I speak Spanish, and I responded that I do speak a little. I think he misunderstood my proficiency, because throughout the entire trip, Miguel and Rodolfo passed the time by talking about me in Spanish and saying things that were not very complimentary. It felt very uncomfortable to be a lone tourist passenger in that situation. Tip: Take your own toilet paper. We made a couple of pit stops at convenience stores, and they did not provide TP.
This was an incredibly well organised collection of experiences that we wouldn't have been able to fit into our trip without this tour. Highly recommended! Aymen is easily one of the most knowledgeable tour guides we've come across in our travels, giving us information on day to day Peruvian life and the incredible sights we were seeing. We left with a deeper knowledge of Peru and learned more from this tour than we had picked up in the preceding week. The conversations in the car were as much an interesting and important part of the tour as the experiences themselves. Rudi helped keep us on track at some of the experiences, providing useful insights, and between the pair of them we were treated like royalty. Aymen even fit in an excellent pisco tasting session and a stop to see flamingos in the wild. The Ballestas islands were absolutely beautiful and we were lucky enough to see dolphins along with sea lions and some incredible birdlife. Huacachina Oasis was an awesome sight. The ATV ride was adrenaline packed and sandboarding was good fun. For us the Nazca lines was the best experience and the flight was exciting. Even the journey to the lines had incredible views. We had no issues with plane sickness but definitely follow the guides' advice to not eat beforehand.
Pick up at 4:30AM, 2 hours drive to go to Ballestas. Very crowded but we waited only 20 minutes. Lot of animals to see! Then 20 minutes drive to go to Pisco Airport to have a 2 hour flight for Nazca. 30 minutes to go to the site of the line. 30 minutes above the lines. 30 minutes or come back to Pisco Airport. Then 2 hours drive to the Oasis. Crowded, a lot of infrastructures. Have a lunch here (even if it’s 4PM…) 4 hours drive to come back around 9PM. The driver Martin was awesome, really safe. The guide was useless, slept the entire time in the car and no explanations about anything.
Travel Buddies arranged 4 tours for us: on 26/05/2023 from Lima - Ballestas, Nazca Lines and Huacachina Oasis, special thanks to our knowledgeable and helpful guide Rudy and impeccable driver Rodolfo. Then we moved to Cusco and there we had: Sacred Valley Full Day Tour on 05/28/2023, Machu Picchu Full Day Tour on 05/29/2023 and Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Tour on 05/30/2023. The organization for all tours was perfect, the schedule was followed without delays, the guides were good. Really worth the money. Special thanks to company boss Pablo Ureta.
The guide not only delivered the canned information but also answered all the questions in a personable way.
Pablo, and his crew from Perú travel buddies were everything you would want in a tour provider: great communications, willingness to pivot when things change, and they made our once in a lifetime experience as smooth as possible under difficult and changing conditions. We were supposed to picked up at the port of Pisco, Perú but our cruise line decided not to stop in Pisco. When we reached out to Pablo, he very quickly offered a refund or change our pick up from Pisco to Lima, which is a 3 hour drive to Pisco. When the overflight airline did not have enough passengers to fly at the time we could make, Pablo help us work out an arrangement so they would fly and set up a special time for us because we were far away from the airport and our cruise ship didn’t dock until later in the morning. Tourism in Peru was in turmoil because of recent protest and the port authorities took the cruise passengers to a different location without telling the cruise ship on the day we were suppose to be pick up. Elisa, our English speaking guide very quickly reached out and came to us at the new location. She was a terrific guide who was informative and engaging. The vehicle was very comfortable for the 6-7 hours journey with well plan ‘technical stops’. Everything was ready for us when we arrived at the Pisco airport. The overflight of the Nazca Lines were awe-inspiring. Thank you Pablo for making this happen.
If you want to see the Islas Ballestas, Nazca lines, and Huacachina in one day this is a good way to do it but we didn't love our guide. He didn't give much information on what we were seeing, and some of the answers that we did get we've since realized were inaccurate. For example he never gave us a good explanation of how the Nazca lines were actually created, and when asked how old they were he said they were created in the 1200s. He misunderstood a lot of our questions and his answers always erred on the side of assuming we were asking a stupid question: "How do you say gas station? Yes this is a gas station" "Do you need a ticket to be in this area? Yes that's your ticket" Also our time in Huacachina felt rushed and was an hour shorter than advertised.
Aymen was my tour guide for the day and he did an excellent job taking me around to all my tours. We had a great time with meaningful conversations about life in Peru and various other topics. He ensured that all was taken care of. I highly recommend this trip and Aymen as your tour guide.
Although this was a very long day, it was worth the time. Flight over the lines was the highlight. Then the islands 2nd. The oasis was still interesting, but just placed 3rd in my book.
The sights were great the guide wasn’t. The extra hour waiting for the flight was poor the lunch stop we were taken to and paid full price for felt like a con
My husband and I booked this tour as part of our honeymoon. Prior to booking I wasnnt sure which tour to do (the one which included Nazca lines, or the one which included the pisco tasting instead). Pablo of Travel Buddies Peru was very helpful via email and super prompt to respond. We decided to go with the Ballestas Islands / Huacachina, and Nazca Lines tour! Although it was a very full day, with a very early start, we had a blast! Ayman and Rudy picked us up from our hotel punctually. Our tour consisted of just my husband and I which was great. On the drive, Ayman provided us with a lot of information about Peru— even things we wouldn’t think to ask. It also made the drive pass more quickly :) Once we arrived to Paracas and the Ballestas Island port, Ayman and Rudy explained to us what to expect. We’d be boarding the boat with a large group, with a multi-lingual tour guide. We were introduced to the guide and then boarded the boat. We got very lucky and saw an incredible amount of wildlife! Cormorants, Peruvian boobys, dolphins, Humboldt penguins, sea lions and pups, among others. We even saw a humpback whale on the way back ( Ayman and Rudy didn’t believe us haha and said it was the first time they’ve heard this). The next stop was Huacachina, where we did the dune bug ride and sandboarding. Again, it was just us with the driver and a lot of fun! I will say though it was really disappointing to see the beautiful sand dunes littered with plastic water bottles and other trash, no doubt left behind by tourists. If you’re doing this experience, please make sure to hold onto your trash. It will easily fly out of the dune buggy and negatively impact the beauty of the dunes. Finally we were headed to Pisco airport to catch our flight over the Nazca lines. We got there a little early so there was quite a bit of waiting around. Going on the little propeller plane and seeing the glyphs from the sky was an awesome experience though! My husband felt a little queasy— the plane does a lot of quick turns and leans so if you get motion sickness easily, this may not be the best activity for you. (I felt fine, though I enjoy rollercoasters and made sure not to eat much before the flight, just in case). After the flight we were headed back to our hotel. Ayman made one more stop in Ica so that we could try pisco before leaving the area! Overall we had a great day with Travel Buddies Peru and saw and learned so much! Ayman actually told us that the owners used to work for G Adventures (the same tour group National Geographic uses for many of their trips!) before starting a venture of their own. They specialize in small groups and really make the experience wonderful. I’d highly recommend!
This trip was great, at every location there were many “wow” moments. The speedboat and seeing the sea lions and penguins and the many birds started the trip, it was really fantastic. The flight to see the Nazca lines was a once in a lifetime event; the view from the sky on the way to the lines was captivating and when we got to the lines the real adventure began. The pilot made sure we could spot the figures and swooped above the nazca plains. From there we stopped at the oasis and went on a sand dune buggy ride. The dunes were definitely one of the “wow” moments. The entire sandy desert landscape was spectacular and worth the extra time. Our guide Aymen was amazing, he made sure we were comfortable accommodating all of our different needs along the way. There were plenty of snack and bathroom breaks and a stop for food. His knowledge of the region and culture of Peru really helped to put things into context and heightened the experience. Overall it was a great day seeing great natural sights, learning about the region and getting to meet new people. Really worthwhile. I recommend this trip!
Both the driver and the tour guide, Iman and Miguel, were excellent. They both made sure that we enjoyed each activity. They arrived on time and provided lots of information. They had carefully organized each activity and the whole day run very smoothly. We both highly recommend this tour.
What a day! My host and driver were excellent. The Ballesta Islands tour was great. The Nazca Lines were amazing. Definitely don't eat before you take that flight. Everyone except me threw up on it. Huacachina was beautiful and we got there close to the sunset. This is a lot to pack into one day. Left at 4:30am and got back at 9pm. If I sandboarded at Huacachina probably would have been closer to 11pm. If you only have one day, this tour is great. Otherwise I'd say definitely try and make a weekend of everything Ica has to offer!
This tour was awesome. So many adventures in one day. On the boat we saw thousands of birds flying in formation, dolphins, sea lions, seals and best of all penguins walking around! At the oasis our guides arranged for a last minute dune buggy ride where we had some laughs and got beautiful pics. The finale was the plane ride over the Nazca Lines which was amazing. Seeing pictures is one thing but flying over this phenomenon in person was unforgettable. Without our guides Aymen and Ruddy the day just wouldn’t have been the same. Every step of the way they took full responsibility of us. They communicated in Spanish for us and were dedicated to setting exact meeting locations and times after each event. Being non Spanish speakers and first time travelers to Peru we were immediately at ease. With a full day tour we had a lot of time to get to know each other. We shared family stories and made a friendship we won’t soon forget. Aymen and Ruddy had such knowledge of the area and Peru in general we really did get an amazing insight into the Peruvian culture. Thanks for a great experience 😊💕🇵🇪 !
We had an amazing private trip today. It is a full day started at 4:30am pickup from our hotel and we got back to our hotel around 10pm. Our tour guide, Aymen was amazing and kept us going. He was always able to answer any questions we had as well as recommendations for both areas we were visiting and places to see in Lima itself. Everything that happened today made it worth the money: Ballestas Island: we saw a large amount of birds (various kinds), sea lions, Penguins and even some dolphins (apparently very rare). Nazca Lines: This was my must see for the Peru trip and I couldn't be happier that I saw it. Don't have many other words for it except book the trip and see them. Huacachina: We had a great time here as well and paid the extra for the sand buggy and sandboarding. As a heads up you can't drive the buggies, but it feels like a rollercoaster when you are going up and down the dunes (depending on your comfort level is how fast the park driver will go). I believe it cost 100 soles each ($33 CAD each) for the dune buggy and the sandboarding upgrade but it was just the two of us with the Park driver. All in all couldn't be happier with how the day went. Thanks again Aymen for everything.
I wish to thank Andres and Pedro for an unbelievable day yesterday. The day is one that we will never forget. It started very early in the morning and ended very late but we were so grateful for the opportunity to see so many things and to experience this wonderful part of Peru. We travels with our 11 year old twins and they loved every minute. It was absolutely spectacular. The entire day went so smoothly and it got better and better! We loved the penguins on the island of Ballestas. The water was smooth and the ride was enjoyable. The dune buggy at Huacachina was a big hit with my Boys! They absolutely loved it. The flight over Nazca lines was totally incredible. What a sight to see! We enjoyed dinner at sunset in Paracas. Andres provided so much information and history. We enjoyed listening to him and asking questions. Pedro is a very skilled and safe driver. They are both very professional and kind. We enjoyed the day with them!
We had a great time on this tour, well worth the early wake up! Rudy and Aymen were great guides, punctual and professional. The assortment of birds and sea lions on the Ballestas Islands was fun to see. The Nazca Lines flight were amazing, though be prepared for the flight as there are many sharp turns and the explanations from the pilot are difficult to hear at times. Huacachina Oasis was very picturesque and Rudy helped us take some great pictures. Overall highly recommend this memorable tour!
This trip was awesome - truly better than I could’ve imagined - and Aymen was a FANTASTIC guide. He went above and beyond all day to make the tour perfect. I highly recommend this tour! Regarding the details, He picked me up from my hotel at 4:30am and we drove about an hour to Asia for a quick stop for coffee/snacks, then continued on to Ballestas for our speed boat ride. We spent about 90 minutes on the water and saw some amazing marine life. Then drove 15 mins to the airport for the aerial tour of the Nazca lines. The flight lasted 2 hours and was spectacular. Then, for the absolute highlight of the day, we drove 2 hours to the Huacachina Oasis. After exploring the dunes for over an hour, we had a nice dinner at sunset down below. It was a long day, but one I’ll never forget.
Was a great day! Very well organized and lots of fun. We enjoyed the personalized touch. Thank you for the experience!
It was a VERY long day but Ronald from Lima VIP Tours made it much better. He spoke English very well and is like a walking Peruvian history book!
This was a highlight of our trip. It’s a long day but worth it. Rudi and Aymen picked us up at 6:30 am for our drive to Pisco to visit Ballestas Islands and flight to Nazca lines. The islands were interesting. We had time to spare before the flight so they took us to Paracas National Reserve where we made several stops. We actually preferred the visit to the reserve . Then we flew to Nazca lines which was fantastic . Rudi and Aymen were great guides and we really enjoyed their company.
