The museum part was excellent- the guide told us everything we needed to know without being long-winded. The gardens and restaurant are lovely. Downside was that the guide leaves before you eat - the waiter is supposed to call the driver when you are ready to go. The main course came immediately after the starter and we told him we needed 15 minutes to wait before we could fit in dessert. But he brought dessert immediately. A few minutes later he comes over with the bill and says our driver is waiting. We pointed out to him that we hadn't finished dessert yet and we also had bought a bottle of wine which was only half drunk. It spoilt the evening as we felt pressured to hurry up and leave. When we finally did go down to the street we couldn't find the driver in the dark - lots of cars parked there. Up the hill we went again and reception called the driver. He's there they said. Down the hill we went again and still couldn't see him - he was parked in a side street and he now got out of the car and waved at us. So all ok in the end but it wasn't very relaxing.

The amazing array of pre-Columbian artifacts is sure to impress -- see the renowned collection of more than 50,000 pots, and admire the large displays of ceramics from the Cupisnique, Chimú, Chancay, Nazca and Inca cultures. Marvel at the intricate jewelry and masks, and see the Larco’s renowned Moche portrait vessels – ceramic vessels in the shape of human faces, which are unique to the Moche people who lived from 100 to 800 AD.
After your tour, sit down to an exquisite dinner of Peruvian specialties, which you’ll enjoy in the museum’s restaurant. From this prime spot, enjoy the cozy atmosphere and enjoy views of the Larco’s beautiful gardens. Taste some of Peru's traditional dishes, including Lomo Saltado (tenderloin strips), Causa Limeña (mashed potoato dish) and more!
When dinner is over, you’ll be driven back to your hotel.

We had a wonderful time! From start to finish, everything was as expected or in many ways, exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Ms. Herrera, and the driver were right on time meeting us at our hotel. Ms. Herrera was very friendly and knowledgeable abut Peru in general and specifically the pre-Colombian artifacts at the museum. The pace of the tour was good, and the information was concise. This is what we were hoping for, and was very much appreciated. What really stunned my entire family was the beauty of the Gardens, Museum, and especially the Restaurant. It was very lovely, elegant, and classy. It was the perfect send off for our last evening of our Peru vacation.
Pickup was on time and the car was clean and comfortable. Our guide was fluent in English and provided an interesting commentary during our visit of Larco Museum. He didn't go into great in degree level depth detail, which honestly I would not want. He did, however, give historical context and made what I was seeing much more interesting by explaining where the artifacts were from, what they were made of, where they were traded from, and the purpose of the artifacts. He made the whole visit really interesting. The meal was lovely and in a beautiful setting. The driver was there ready and waiting at the end of the meal and safely navigated Lima's horrendous traffic to get us back at a good time.
Amazing collection of artifacts along with a very nice meal in a beautiful setting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
The guide was great, the museum was a fabulous experience and dinner was amazing. Overall great tour
Exceeded high expectations. Knowledgeable guide, smooth transportation in and out, delightful dinner. Quintessential experience of having a cake and eating it too!
Very rushed, this definitely wasn’t worth the price tag, especially in Peru. Tour was rushed. If I were to do this again, I would just take an uber to the museum, hire a guide, and eat at the restaurant
Exploring Lima's culinary scene and historical sites with Book Now Travel was a top-notch experience. Their attention to detail and excellent guides made everything effortless and enjoyable
It was a truly fantastic experience! Our guide mr. Ricardo Galvez was experienced guide with very good English and his knowledge along with individuality made the tour very-very interesting! Beautiful territory of museum, interesting ancient world of Latin America and fantastic food in the restaurant. Perfect evening!
Amazing!!! From start to finish. Driver and guide picked us up promptly at hotel. Daniel was very knowledgeable and proud to talk about his country during the ride to the Museo Larco. The property is beautiful, and the collection has been displayed and curated exquisitely. Dinner was amazing, service a bit slow but food was very very good. A must when you visit Lima
Firstly, we truly had a wonderful time. The museum is running, the restaurant incredible, and the guide was lovely. I was so impressed by how knowledgeable he was. There were just a few things that made this a less than five star experience for me. Firstly, the driver arrived over an hour early!! This made everything start on a really stressful note, because we weren’t clearly close to being ready. I was so shocked, I doubled checked everything in case they changed the time and I just didn’t see, but I’m confident they didn’t. Secondly, (and this is really petty but still) they charged us to have milk in our coffee! At such an incredibly nice restaurant (and it was) I thought that was kinda petty. It also meant we had to scramble around for cash at the end. The coffee is included but the milk is not. Again, just a little extra stress we didn’t anticipate. Anyway. Even with those issues, I still had a great time, and would recommend it.
Both my friend and I highly recommend this one-of-a kind experience. Our tour guide Rosa led us on an insightful, late-night tour of the museum followed by dinner in an exceptionally gorgeous atmosphere. Beset with hanging bougainvillea, the Larco museum and restaurant is special place, not to be missed on any trip to Lima.
The Larco Museum was extraordinary! The tour guide was so informative. The tour was followed by an amazing meal which consisted of traditional Peruvian fare. It was a magical evening!
Although I was booked, confirmed and charged, tour operator never showed up . What a disappointment.
The museum contained alot of artifacts that tells the history of Peru and surrounding countries. The Gardens by the restaurant was beautiful with its blooming flowers, green lawn and architecture.
Fantastic experience! Great guide who explained the highlights of the museum, which itself was amazing. Beautiful historical relics. Followed by a delicious meal in a very romantic setting. Our guide Daniel was top notch. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We both liked all of the dishes we had at the restaurant. It was a beautiful place with a great view.
The initial market walkthrough and explanation of the different fruits was informative. The food prep and cooking was fun and food was excellent.
Largo museum interesting to visit lots of things to see well organized clean nice garden we see the excotic part of it very interesting to see
Loved everything-food, guide, places, restaurants, bus, driver, drinks, friendly services, nice company, weather
This museum was absolutely amazing. Glad I found out about it. The food was good as usual as most of the food in Peru is. I attended this tour July 2019.
Great experience and great food! Really enjoyed learning about the history of Peru and our guide Victor was excellent.
the museum was incredible - i wish we were given more time to browse it on our own. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about Peru in general and gave a great overview during the drive, and knew much about the museum. But he was somewhat like a tape recorder at the museum knowing about some select window displays - when asked a few general questions he could not answer. The dinner at the museum was ok but not the awesome Peru dinner i was hoping for. The pisco sour drinks given were small. at end of meal we were told that we had a choice of hot drinks we could request but when we did, we were not given a choice and could only have caffeine coffee. We were not told when the museum closed or when the store closed so we missed out. Outside the museum was absolutely gorgeous with all the flowers and vines. very beautiful.
What a beautiful evening. This tour was worth every penny. We would not have learned half of what we know now if it wasn’t for our wonderful guide, Olinda (I think was her name). She was amazing! Then the restaurant was so beautiful and the food was delicious. It was the perfect night for us.
Loved learning about the history of Peru through the ceramics and other wonderful collections. The evening was perfect with an excellent meal at the Larco restaurant. The entire evening was magical and worth the money.
My evening solo was spectacular! The driver arrived at my Miraflores hotel 1 hour earlier than the tour was expected to start. He was nice and friendly. We did not have to pick any other parties up. When I arrived Michell, my tour guide greeted me by name. He offered me to take photos in the gardens and was so knowledgeable and intentional. The tour itself lasted just under 1 hour. Then I was walked down to the outdoor restaurant where O enjoyed bread, water, pisco sour, causa, lomo, sorbete de Lucuma (yummy, try it), and was offered coffee or tea. The servers were amazing. On top of everything! I must have looked cold cause they even brought me blankets to bundle up. The scenery and ambience is beautiful. There were many couples and large groups of both tourists or friends celebrating a special occasion. 100% recommend to anyone traveling solo who wants a really in-depth guided history tour or for a group. Request Michell as the guide and Melissa as your server!
Guide’s narration and matrix of pre colonial societies on the wall. Plus the gardens areamazing and food was very good too. The second Pisco did me in tho!
Great relics. Great food with tremendous atmosphere. Very informative and entertaining. Food was top notch.
I was in Lima on a Monday (when a number of museums and some other area attractions are closed) and chose this to do even though I’m not a huge museum person. It was sOOO worth it though. The museum and grounds are beautiful, our guide Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Peruvian cultures, history, art and the particulars about the items in the museum. I probably would have enjoyed it on my own, but thanks to him, I got so much more out of it. It was also a great way to complement visits to other places in Lima and previous visits to Cusco. Oh, and the food was delicious and in just the right portions. Three courses, an alcoholic drink and a hot drink were included. I was traveling by myself, but was joined in the tour by a nice couple from Florida. But honestly as awesome as this event is, there should be bigger groups taking advantage of this opportunity. My only “complaints” are that Gabriel rushed off a bit quickly (I would have been happy to give him a tip) and there was a little confusion about where to meet the driver afterwards. For a little while, we wondered if we would have to call a taxi to get to our hotels. But it all worked out. It was a very memorable evening.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we had the whole museum to ourselves almost. It was amazing. The ambiance for dinner was very romantic as well. We would definitely recommend!
Having had 2 weeks of visiting various sacred sites across Peru, the visit to the Larco Museum completed the circle by allowing me to see the artefacts of the many Peruvian civilisations, as well as better, understand the context of their ancient and costumes. These people's tradition and culture were represented in many statues, jewellery, tapestries, but also hundreds of amazingly accurate facial replicas frozen in time by pottery. mind-blowing! This trip has also included a dinner experience. The food was delicious, the venue is amazing. All in all, this is a highly recommended tour and one that allows you to do other activities during the day.
My daughter's birthday was while we were in Lima, and she wanted to visit this museum. The whole experience was great. We were picked up at out hotel, taken to the museum, had a private tour of the exhibits, and dinner at the restaurant. The museum is pretty extensive for a private museum, and the displays are very well done. The restaurant was very nice, a beautiful outdoor setting with excellent food and pisco sours. If you only have time to see one museum, book this experience. You will not regret it.
My wife and I had a great time with this private tour/dinner. The company's correspondence was very good and they picked us up at our hotel at the appointed time. Our guide was excellent and the dinner was very nice sitting outside by the beautiful garden at night. The museum is amazing as noted in other reviews. It is not too large, so you can just concentrate on the beautiful and well rounded items that they have on display. It was very nice having a driver for this location waiting for us at the end of our dinner. As finding a taxi back to Miraflores might have been a challenge. Would highly recommend this tour.
We squandered $100 USD per person for this tour and dinner- the entire package was not even worth half the price. We had a 45 minute tour and a decent dinner, at best. Even the pisco sour was a disappointment; the waiter actually apologized, saying that they usually serve the pisco sour in a much larger glass. The museum and gardens are quite beautiful, but it only has 4 or 5 rooms of artifacts and the additional erotic art gallery. All four members of our tour party felt cheated and discouraged. I could not wait to return to our lodging to compose this review. We have learned the hard way that if one wants to visit Museo Larco, go on your own. The museo features placards with information in multiple languages. Alternatively, according the museum's website they have guides available for use. Regular entrance fee is only 30 soles. If you would also like to eat at the restaurant, just make a reservation. I would certainly recommend the restaurant. It has a lovely ambience with an extensive food selection. Instead of having the opportunity to sample some of their great dishes, we were offered us a tiny set menu. Never combine a meal with a tour or any extras because the value goes down for you, and the profit goes up for the tour company.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. The objects were interesting. I was disappointed in the dinner. The atmosphere was lovely, but I had the chicken ravioli and it wasn't very good. If I had it to do over again, I'd go see the museum during the day, and skip the dinner.

This was probably our favorite part of Lima. The erotic exhibit of the museum was fascinating and very surprising. The dinner at the museum was fantastic, and the pisco sour with the meal was top notch. We highly recommend this dinner/tour combo!

This museum in Lima is a great preparation for the Peruvian monuments because the guide explains a lot about the artifacts and life during the Inka period. Use a guide because that's how the artifacts come to life! The museum was also the home of its founder and the grounds where dinner is served are magical. I had a great night.

The tour was one of the highlights of an excellent few days in Lima. We came to Peru thinking history was all about the Incas. We soon learned otherwise and having a private tour of the Larco was a perfect walk through history. Our guide was great. She was knowledgable, friendly, and brought the history to life. Eating at the museum -- in a beautiful setting -- was a nice way to end the evening. We weren't sure we were going to find time for the tour given all we hoped to see in Lima but as soon as it began, we were thrilled we had made it part of our visit.

Antiques thousands of years old. Incredible and a must see if you are in Lima. The food served at the Dinner was delicious and service very nice not over bearing but just very nice. Good wine and a wonderful evening.

Excellent evening at the Larco, had museum to ourselves!

The museum is fantastic the guide was lovely and the meal very tasty. Due to traffic though my visit was very rushed I had about 45 minutes in the museum and the same for dinner. The museum has English commentary everywhere so I'd advise to go it alone without a tour guide ad you could spend a good couple of hours there. On the way back to the hotel I'd a lovely driver though at one stage I misunderstood what he was saying and thought I was being let out to get a taxi the rest of the way. Luckily I had misunderstood and he dropped me back to the hotel. Was overall a good experience but I spent as much time if not more in the van than at the museum. Not the companies fault of course

Our guide was absolutely fantastic. The problem came in that the tour was too short to get through everything. The museum was a blur but the highlights were tantalizing. The big problem came with the dinner. We were only allotted 40 minutes for three courses. Food was so-so and we did not even have our coffee. Recommend a separate tour of the museum and forego the meal. Very disappointed.

This museum is beautiful! It's small but just perfect for quick overview of Peru's history and culture. It has plenty of artifacts, and since it's very private at night, and actually there were just the 4 of us in there, we were able to look up close and thoroughly enjoy the guide's explanations. The 3 course dinner was delicious, and the outdoor dining area was so beautiful. The bus that took us to and from our hotel was new and clean, there was a nice driver, and also a great tour guide that went in with us.

Really enjoyed this time we had at the Larco. Was my second trip there but learned different aspects of the culture.

Great guide, interesting museum and delicious dinner

This was a wonderful tour. The company picked us up at the hotel. Drove us to Larco. This museum is amazing. But what brought it to life was our tour guide. He was a wealth of information. He told us the history, and interesting facts about the pieces in the museum. Dinner at the Larco was DELICIOUS. This tour is rated a FIVE STAR in our opinon

Originally advised pickup as 1915-1925 and this actually became 1830, and we were not told of this change. I think thie change affected other clients at other hotels also. So there were some pickup delays. Whilst the tour was good, and the Museum a must see it was rushed toward the end to accomodate dinner. Gabriela's passion and knowledge of the museum is fantastic. The meals were ok, and two of us had sea bass and thought it very average. We had an hour for dinner which was probably just enough but we were late getting to the bus at 10 pm. The grounds of the museum are spectacular with bougainvillea and cactus in particular and it would have been great to see the grounds in daylight. But Gabriela and the Museum 'swung' the night.

It was such a lovely night. We were picked up at our hotel and transported to the Larco Museum. To be able to visit the Museum in the evening when it's quiet was priceless. There were just our group 3 persons and two other familes touring the museum at the time. Our guide was just wonderful. She had extensive understanding of the history of history of Peru and Larco Museum and was able to share it without boring us. The Museum is just beautiful, the architecture, artifacts, atmosphere, everything. We had dinner in the courtyard after the tour and boy! it would make for some wedding venue! Food was excellent. All in all, the tour was worth every penny!

This was a lovely evening. The tour was very good and the dinner on the grounds was nice. The dinner setting outside was lovely and the food was very good.

This was a great night. We were picked up on this tour and went immediately to the Larco Museum where there is a significant private collection on display. After a very insightful tour from our guide who was incredibly knowledgeable, we had dinner at the café in the museum. It has a great ambience, is quiet and the service/food was great.
Overall the tour is terrific. You get some great cultural understanding of life before the Inca, learn the deep history of Lima and surroundings and see some amazing historical artefacts. The dinner was great and just what we needed with the service being prompt.
I would suggest this as a must do in Lima as it gives you a deeper understanding of how rich the history is outside of the Inca in Peru.
