He shared fascinating stories about the dishes and the culture behind them, and he was happy to answer every question. The restaurants he chose were top tier. Every stop brought something new and delicious, and the whole tour showed what makes Lima a world-class food city. We left full, happy, and with a much deeper appreciation for Peruvian cuisine. Carlos was the best guide we have ever had the experience to spend time with. We showed up to the meeting place early but he met us anyway. He was very informative about the food, the areas we visited, the architecture, history, and pointed out how the different neighborhoods varied. It was so much more than just food, which was amazing in itself. The different types of food we tried was a good variety of Lima food. Carlos made the tour an incredible experience. He made sure we were safe and that our ride knew where to pick us up at the end of the tour. I highly recommend this tour with Carlos.

It was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable in the history of Peru and Peruvian food and culture. He was on time, he speaks English well and so it was easy to understand while we discuss Peruvian food and culture. It was an engaging tour, food spots were great, Clean and tasty. Huaca Pucklana was an absolute gem of a restaurant. The tour time went by so quickly just to show how engaging and fun it was. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Lima.

I loved the tour because it taught me about Peruvian gastronomy, and it's amazing the combinations that can reflect the ancestral legacy and help me learn more about Peruvian cuisine! The hike was crazy and seeing the ruins was a beautiful experience! I highly recommend it 100%.

This is one of the best tours I have ever done. I found this to be an exceptional value. I did the day tour and Carlos was our guide. We ended up being the only 3 solo travelers on the tour which was such a surprise. There were so many stops, great information in between and really cool places where we had a wide variety of food and drink. We were very full by the end of the tour. The van picked us up at our hotel at the promised time and was very comfortable. I really just can’t say enough good things about this tour. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

My friends and I booked a tour with Walk and Eatours while visiting Lima, and it ended up being one of the best experiences of our trip. We met our guide Kathy at the meeting point, and right away she made everyone feel welcome. The tour started with a walk through Surquillo Market, where we got to taste a variety of fresh fruits and learn about local ingredients that are commonly used in Peruvian cuisine. It was great to experience a market that locals actually use every day. One of the surprises of the tour was visiting an archaeological site from the ancient Lima Culture. Kathy explained the history in a very easy-to-understand way and helped us appreciate that Lima's history goes back long before the Incas. What I enjoyed most was learning about the Japanese and Chinese immigration to Peru and how those communities influenced Peruvian food. Kathy shared interesting stories about the origins of Nikkei and Chifa cuisine, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the food we were enjoying. The walking pace was comfortable, and throughout the tour we sampled delicious local flavors while exploring a part of Lima that many tourists never get to see. Amazing tour from pickup to drop-off! The restaurant selections were fantastic, and every stop was memorable. Carlos was the best guide — very informative and friendly, and we learned so much about Lima and its food culture. The highlight for us was the absolutely delicious ceviche at Cala Restaurant & Lounge by the coast. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent experience taking this tour. The guide Carlos is the best. He explained so well about his country and history of different places we went. The walk around Lima was faboulous and the food was awesome. We stopped at the local market and Carlos showed us all the varieties of peruvian products, then we explored a pre-inca ruins and we had the chance to eat inside! Also, I tried delicious chifa food. This is a must tour if you are in Lima. I highly recommend it.

Carlos was an excellent guide. Tour through the historical centre of Lima, Baranco, Museums, Art galleries etc. was a perfect experience with many historical information and insider tips!!

I opted for a local walking experience and at the same time to try Peruvian cuisine. And the guide Jhon was super charming and very knowledgeable about Culinary History, every bite was delicious, trying new textures and aromas I was really able to understand why Lima has become the culinary capital, in addition to being able to meet local people outside of tourist places. If you want to do something that connects with the city and its people, it will be worth it.
