Itinerary
Day 1
1
Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup directly from your hotel or hostel in Lima’s central districts (typically Miraflores, Barranco, or San Isidro). Board your Peru Hop bus with onboard high-speed Wi-Fi - perfect for catching up on messages or posting your first photos as we leave the capital behind, enjoy coastal views and a relaxed ride along the Pan-American Highway heading south.
We’ll stop mid-morning at the famed Mirasur Bakery, a beloved roadside gem known for its wood-fired ovens and buttery fresh bread. Enjoy a light local breakfast - Peruvian tamales, warm chicharrón, or fresh juice - with scenic farmland views as the Andes loom in the background. A perfect way to start your adventure!
Step into a haunting and powerful chapter of Peru’s colonial past at this beautifully preserved 17th-century hacienda. Once one of the region’s largest sugar plantations, Hacienda San José is now a luxurious hotel - but its underground slave tunnels remain intact. With your host, explore this labyrinthine network of smuggling tunnels that stretch 17 kilometers to the coast, used to bypass anti-slavery patrols. Learn how these hidden corridors shaped the Afro-Peruvian identity and traditions that live on today. A deep, moving cultural experience not found in guidebooks.
Arrive in the charming coastal town of Paracas around 1:30 PM. The afternoon is yours to relax and explore. Walk along the beach, enjoy fresh seafood, or ask your host about optional experiences like the Golden Shadow Trek - a scenic cliffside hike with panoramic ocean views. This peaceful town is your base for tomorrow’s marine adventure.
Day 2
2
Set off at 7:30 AM on a thrilling speedboat ride to the Ballestas Islands, an iconic marine sanctuary teeming with life. Along the way, see the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph etched into the coastal cliffs. Once you reach the islands, marvel at the hundreds of Humboldt penguins, playful sea lions, and a variety of coastal birds - all in their natural habitat. The dramatic rock formations and crashing waves make this a photographer’s dream.
From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, embark on a guided tour of the Paracas National Reserve, one of South America’s largest protected coastal deserts. Here, the golden dunes plunge into the deep blue Pacific, creating a surreal landscape you won’t find anywhere else. Discover ancient fossils, wind-sculpted rock formations, and beaches where flamingos feed in tranquil bays. Your host will share the unique geology and ecology of this Martian-like terrain.
Depart Paracas aboard your Peru Hop bus around 12:00 PM for a scenic drive through the Ica region, arriving at a traditional vineyard by 1:00 PM. Along the way, enjoy views of desert valleys and lush vineyards surrounded by dry mountains - an unexpected oasis in the arid landscape.
In Ica, visit a historic pisco and wine vineyard to sample Peru’s national spirit, pisco, as well as locally made red and white wines. Learn about the traditional distillation process from vine to glass. After the tasting, enjoy lunch at a renowned local bodega, where you can savor Andean-influenced coastal cuisine - think tamalitos, grilled meats, and creamy ají sauces.
Arrive at the surreal Huacachina Oasis by 4:30 PM, a natural desert lagoon. Fringed with palm trees and encircled by towering sand dunes, this magical setting is straight out of a movie. Hop into a dune buggy for an adrenaline-pumping ride across the biggest sand dunes on the continent. Then, grab a board and sandboard down the slopes, whether standing, sitting, or face-first - it’s pure fun and guaranteed laughs. As the sun sets, golden light spills across the dunes for a perfect photo op. Stay overnight in Huacachina and enjoy free time to unwind. Grab a cocktail by the oasis, dine at a rooftop bar, or join fellow travelers for a night of desert vibes and local music.
Day 3
3
Rise early for your private transfer to Nazca. The shuttle departs at 7:00 AM. Sit back and relax as you journey through the arid landscapes of southern Peru, passing vast desert plateaus and glimpses of the Andes in the distance.
Arriving in Nazca around 10:30 AM, you’ll check in at the Nazca Airport for your once-in-a-lifetime aerial tour. Around 11:00 AM, board a small sightseeing plane for a spectacular flight over the UNESCO-listed Nazca Lines - ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert floor over 1,000 years ago. Spot massive, intricate figures like the Monkey, Hummingbird, Astronaut, Condor, and Spider, each more mystifying than the last. Your pilot will dip the plane left and right for perfect photo angles.
From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, you have the option to visit the Cantalloc Aqueducts, an incredible feat of pre-Incan hydraulic engineering. These spiral stone structures still channel underground water through the desert - a testament to the Nazca people's ingenuity. This optional excursion adds depth to your understanding of Nazca civilization beyond the Lines.
At 3:00 PM, board your shuttle for the relaxing return journey to Huacachina, arriving around 6:00 PM. Use this time to rest, organize your photos, or simply reflect on the surreal experience of seeing ancient geoglyphs from the sky.
At 7:00 PM, board your comfortable Peru Hop bus with onboard Wi-Fi for the final leg to Lima - ideal for sharing your best Huacachina and Nazca photos on the way back. The drive takes approximately 4.5 hours, with a scheduled arrival around 11:30 PM at your original pickup point or designated drop-off location. You’ll arrive back in the capital filled with memories of coastlines, dunes, and ancient mysteries.

The tour was really fun! I did the full tour from Lima to Cusco. Everything was really well organized and you notice that the guides are actually invested and want you to have a great time. The atmosphere is open and friendly, with a lot of opportunities to meet new people. The buses that you travel with are comfortable and don’t feel crowded at all, which made the trip more fun as well. This was totally worth the money! Thanks to Raúl and Lizbeth!
Great organisation full trip. Raul - best guide ever. Miki - great guide to Nazca and flight organisation.
Nilka is a wonderful guide! Very sweet, very reassuring and communicates every step. We love her!
We booked our Peru Hop trip directly through the travel agency, and everything went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout, with plenty of clear information and updates. A special mention goes to our guide Roberto (aka Robinator!), who was absolutely fantastic. He's incredibly professional and knows exactly how to make a trip enjoyable. His explanations were always interesting and informative, without being too long or overwhelming. He's enthusiastic and engaging, but never over the top. It's a difficult balance to get right, and he absolutely nails it! The whole itinerary is very well organised, and the hotel and hostel pick-ups and drop-offs make travelling so much easier and completely stress-free. I've travelled quite a lot around the world, and I can genuinely say that Peru Hop is one of the best tour operators I've ever experienced. Everything is well thought out, professionally organised, and genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to Roberto for making the journey even better!
Perfectly planned and efficiently run! I don’t usually book tours. I like to make my own plans. Juan Carlos was an excellent guide and has a wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of Peru. The tour included stops I would have overlooked. So glad I used PeruHop!
The whole three day trip worked like clockwork, instructions and explanations from Luis were perfect. The actual trips and experiences were above expectations and we would highly recommend Peru Hop as an excellent tour provider
Fabulous itinerary , always on time , easy to understand guide and loads of info . Great use of WhatsApp to confirm meeting points , timings , additional info . Our guide was Luis and he was fabulous
Peruhop is such a convenient way to travel! Clear communication, pick-up when possible and interesting tours. Luis was a great guide!
Julio and Diego were great. Attentive and informative. Great value for the money.
Super easy to get around. They help you with everything and will answer any questions you have. Everyone else that i met that wasn’t using peru hop seemed to be way more stressed trying to figure out and coordinate there whole trip. Thanks for Raùl! He was an absolute blast!
I had a fantastic 3 day tour from Lima. Firstly to Paracas and Huachina. Where our excellent guide was Jossy. Then the guide for the day from Huachina to Nazca and return, was Nilka. Who was also an excellent Guide. The Peru hop guides work incredibly hard. Their WhatsApp and face to face guidance was of a high standard. And made the whole trip a great experience.
Incredible experience. Everything was on time and on point. Brenda is an amazing tour guide; 1 of 1.
Brenda was a wonderful host for our trip with Peru Hop from Lima to Arequipa. She helped coordinate our sightseeing and made the experience smooth and stress-free. Well worth the cost and highly recommended for anyone that wants to explore more than just the major cities in Peru.
Brenda was a fantastic guide; she clearly really enjoyed what she did, and it was obvious that she took great care of the people in her group—truly exemplary.
Jorge is an excellent guide, always helpful, caring, and attentive. He truly goes above and beyond to help us, making sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone feels comfortable and supported. He is always available to answer our questions and does his very best to make sure we have an unforgettable experience. You can really tell that he is passionate about his job and genuinely cares about the people he guides. I couldn’t recommend him more! Thank you for everything, Jorge! 🙌🏼
Fantastic efficient and friendly service with great guides Luis, catryn and Alfonzo. Lots of information and extras within the trip. We highly recommend
— Brenda is an absolute legend! If you are traveling with Peru Hop, you can only hope you get lucky enough to have Brenda as your guide! From start to finish, her passion for the trip and Peru was infectious. She didn't just manage logistics; she brought every location to life with her energy and local insight. Brenda was incredibly involved at every step of the journey: Huacachina: She made sure everyone felt right at home in the oasis, helping coordinate the buggy and sandboarding activities and ensuring the entire group had a seamless, fun experience. The Slave Tunnels (Hacienda San José): Brenda led this stop with immense respect, depth, and empathy, helping us truly understand the historical weight and context of the underground tunnels. Drive from Arequipa to Lima: On the long drive back to the coast, her enthusiasm never flagged. She kept us entertained, informed, and comfortable, making a long journey feel effortlessly smooth. On top of all her work on the bus, she also took us on a day tour in Arequipa, which was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Her knowledge of the city's history, culture, and hidden spots made all the difference. Thank you, Brenda, for going above and beyond to make our trip so special!
Jossy was a really postive and kind guide! She was amazing!
I understand why this tour is highly rated - because of the experiences u get r absolutely amazing and world class. BUT it’s not all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to the actual tour as a whole. Our pick up had a timeframe of 5:50 am to 6am, we arrived exactly at 5.55am and were greeted by a grumpy tour guide girl (I’ve already addressed this to the tour company and they managed to put us under a different tour guide the next day). The girl said that we r late and then kept talking in Spanish to us (even though we told her 3 times we prefer English as my Spanish is not so bueno). The next tour guide happened to be excellent though, had very good energy and sense of humor. I wish we had him since day one. We had booked a 3 day tour in the hopes of getting some more rest before the second day start but no, everyday is a 5-6am wake up unfortunately. I now regret staying in Paracas overnight, the birdlife is amazing there but it’s such a windy town and not much else to do other than going to Ballestas island - which we did the early morning of second day. I would rather stayed two nights in Huacachina, as it’s such a beautiful oasis !! We did the buggie ride the day we arrived. It was physically quite challenging, having to walk up the sand tune to get to our car, so keep that in mind. The desert and dunes were beautiful though. Bring glasses and bandana to cover your eyes and mouth (u will need them for the buggie ride). If I’d change anything, I’d rather would have went back closer to the oasis area during the sunset to get better pics - but they made us stay in the middle of a sand tune far away - we didn’t get good sunset pics there (also the sun was behind the clouds). Taking pics with the oasis as the back drop would have been a better option, as it’s absolutely gorgeous when the sun has set. On third day we went to Nazca lines and it was truly the highlight of the whole trip for me. I felt a bit nervous though (because of the recent plane crash 😢), but seeing the co pilot doing a good check on the plain before the start - it put my mind to ease. Please take motion sickness pills before the flight though to ease the nausea. The plane is small and goes sideways a lot. They do that so both sides of the plane will have a great view of the Nazca lines. We had a bus trip back to Lima on that day and it was 4 plus hrs ride. After being sleep deprived for 3-4 days because of the early starts - it was the last nail in my coffin 😅 I got sick after this trip. But hey, life is about adventure and if u want to see the wonders of the world - u have to be prepared to get tired and exhausted ! Thats just as it is. If I could change anything else, I’d cut out the slave ranch and then the wine / pisco tasting tour, so we could have gotten to our hotel earlier and have a rest.
Luis the best! Organised, honest, responsible, clever.
Peru Hop was a great experience! It helped us get to places in the most seamless way with the most wonderful tour guide, Deborah. We actually did the multi-day Cusco to Lima trip through Arequipa, Nazca, Huacachina, and Paracas and had a blast! Deborah was also extremely knowledgeable about Peru, its history, cuisine, and all of that which made the experience even more informative! Overall, the busses were extremely comfortable, especially after having done overnight rides as well. I highly recommend PeruHop and Deborah as a guide!
Overall amazing experience with PeruHop. Our guides Luis and Lui were both amazing. I loved all of the tours that were included. The high speed wifi on the busses goes a long way. Would recommend!
Everything g was fantastic and super well organized. We all loved the group chat via WhatsApp. It made communication clear. We had Sergio, Lizbeth and Marjorie as hosts and they were amazing. Pablo was our goat back to Lima. He was also amazing.
Highly highly recommend peruhop! They were very accommodating in creating us a unique trip that included excursions of the 3 day trip from Lima to paracas, huacachina, and nazca but allowed us to continue journey on to Arequipa. They also accommodated me getting sick and were able to push back days and find different peruhop bus and reschedule our nazca flight for us. The excursions are amazing including the boat to ballesta island and sand duning in huacachina! Our tour guys included Sergio, Lizbeth, and Raul! They were awesome! So helpful in providing us with things to do in each city and with food recommendations! The bus is also very comfortable! Reclining seats with fast WiFi, toilet, and storage for rolling luggage and backpacks. For our overnight bus it even includes blankets and and a foot support to help sleep
Beautiful, everything was more than we expected! Raul was the best!🤩🤩🤩
I love how well organized the whole trip was, I’ve been solo traveling for a while and it was nice to shut my brain off and have the rides and tours planned for me. My guide Miguel was AMAZING, he really made the whole experience much better. Besides from being absolutely hilarious and the life of the party, he was very knowledgeable and you can tell he was passionate about it. Any question you had historically, he answered it. I really enjoyed the little treats he got us like sipping wine watching the sunset in the desert of Huacachina after dune bugging . It was really cool and special. Truly an unforgettable experience. And the wifi on the bus? Literally exceeded my expectations. I was able to get work done on my laptop. 10/10 experience, will be booking with Peru hop again
We traveled with Luis and he was very supportive and Kind. I liked that He Had so much information in whats app.
Raul was our guide. He was great! He was easy going, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was enjoying the experience!
Raul Cespedes is a everything good guide We have a lot of laughs, stories, and unforgettable moments made it an experience I’ll never forget. Thank for this moment unforgettable
I felt very safe traveling with peru hop. Luis took good care of us and gave us interesting insights.
The Isla de Ballesta tour was a great, peaceful excursion to scenic islands with penguins, sea lions and a few other critters. Huacachina was amazing. The dune buggy ride was full-on, and the sandboarding was fun, all to the backdrop of the desert atmosphere filled by wine at sunset. Pablo & Miguel were great, would recommend to anyone with a spare day in Peru.
Best company and Guide Julio Cesar🐧🕊🦅
Saw a lot of good places. Luis as Guide was great. Everthing worked well.
Peruhop was great! Very convenient getting to and from places. Very well organised with lovely hosts. It also offers great flexibility if you want to diverge from the PeruHop activities and do your own thing. Our main host Brenda was lovely and made sure we had a good time. Would definitely recommend.
I took a 3-day journey from Arequipa to Lima with Peru Hop, which was very convenient given my limited time. The route was well-planned with visits to key highlights. Travelling in the direction from Arequipa to Lima was less crowded, making the ride extra comfortable. The guide, Niel, had excellent communication skills, was punctual, and even provided free shots.
Amazing experience would 100% recommend!
Jose Carlos was a fantastic guide who gave all the information needed and could help you anytime with anything. We really enjoyed our trip with Peru-hop.
Jessy and Liz were super sweet and provided nice clear explanations and instructions, thank you! It was lots of bus distance to cover on day 3 so we recommend you stay an extra night in huancachina if you can- Sedona hotel really nice!!
Great adventure and our guid Jossy was verry nice and helpfull.
Such a good experience with Peru hop. I'm gonna do the whole tour but I did not finish the moment I wrote this comment. Miguel our tourist guide was fantastic he gave us tips for many places, he sent us informations on our whatsapp group and have fun with us. I recommend Peru Hop 100%.
The trip was very convenient. Pickups and drop offs were very convenient. Monika was an excellent guide who provided great recommendations and answered all of our questions.
We arrived into Peru with a disposition disliking organised tours and favouring moving around ourselves. However we realised we had to rely on tours to get around as Peru is not very easy to move around without one. We stumbled across Peru Hop by luck but were pleasantly surprised. The schedule is generally adhered to, the buses are comfortable with reliable internet and chargers and there is enough flexibility so you can stay in accommodation of your choosing and take part in activities as you like. The desert trek in buggies is a particular highlight as is the plane ride over the nazca lines. We had a number of guides change over the course of 3 days but all were professional. Brenda in particular stood out for her attentiveness, good humour and for making everyone feel seen during the tour. We will use Peru Hop it other parts of our Peru trip, which we had not planned upon!
Luis was a fantastic host! He was very knowledgeable and very prepared. We would absolutely recommend using Peru Hop to travel with!
I was on Luís’s bus for three days, and he was friendly and super knowledgeable! He organized a bunch of free extra activities for the passengers, like lunches, dinners, games, and pisco sour classes. Additionally, he was super great when it came to booking and organizing tours. Overall if I made a PeruHop voyage again I’d definitely want to have him as a guide!
Nilka and Monica were amazing! Thank you for being so positive and taking such good care of us. These two made our trip magical! I highly recommend.
The planning from PeruHop was great, an experience for everyone, best WiFi connection I’ve had, will recommend to family and friends and most likely repeat at some point in the future
So grateful for our experience with Peru Hop on our first ever trip to South America. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide, Miguel, you made our entire trip !! Insanely knowledgeable and constantly willing to help out with our planning via tips and tricks. The friends and memories will be cherished forever. Couldn’t recommend enough !!! VAMOS CHICAS, we ❤️ Miguel
Had a great experience! Miguel is a fantastic guide: engageing, fun and mindful. Would definitely recommend!
