Price is too much comparing the quality you get: parking is busy, pool towels might be not available when you need it, rooms need to be renovated, mold start appear in the bath in between tiles, etc…
We just got back from a week's stay at La Pagerie. Overall, we had an amazing trip! We did have a small issue with our room having an odd smell, but as soon as we complained, it was fixed. I believe it had to do with the plumbing. We loved the entertainment they had every evening; however, I think there needs to be more advertising for it at the hotel. It was hard to know what was happening and when. Also, maybe they should scatter the times of the entertainment as it was often during our dinnertime. They could do a mid-afternoon entertainment by the pool or something for a change. That said, all the performers/entertainment we managed to see were great! On Monday, they even had a free floral design workshop, but we had no idea it was going on. Luckily, we happened upon it and had a gorgeous floral arrangement for our room all week. The breakfast was great, but would be even better if it went until 11 am. It would be nice if the pool bar/lobby bar had a happy hour once or twice a day, as drinks can be expensive (this is all over the island, not just at the hotel). The location is AMAZING! The rooms were clean! In your room, you have a great mini fridge (it even has a little freezer, a kettle, a little coffee machine, and a kitchen sink). We really enjoyed our balcony overlooking the Creole Village. You can easily walk to Anse Mitan (our favourite) or Pointe Du Bout beach from this location. The pool was lovely, but we mainly spent our days at the beach or out on an excursion.
The hotel is cute but the service is unacceptable. We arrived and the room was not ready until 4.20 pm (check-in time is at 3pm). At 3.30pm they told us the room was ready, they sent us to the room and when we arrive we found towels on the floor and dirt everywhere. The cleaning staff told us the room was not ready, to wait 5 minutes. From this moment we had to wait other 50 minutes! They didn’t even say sorry or offer us some water. We ask to book the restaurant for dinner and they say it’s fully booked during our stay. We call for room service at 9pm (restaurant closes at 10pm) and the kitchen staff says the kitchen is closing down now. I call the reception to inform them and pls ask to make sure they send us something to eat, we accept anything, and they say it’s not possible.
We stayed for a week. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The service personal is friendly, attentive and tries to accommodate all needs. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone's taste and was amazing. Two minor negatives: the vending machine, as well as the water dispenser were broken during our stay. the carpark was either full or closed, so we had to find street parking every day.
