This was our most memorable hike during our trip! Our driver San and the hiking guide Shane were both exceptional. We recommend this tour to anyone seeking a moderately challenging hike with pristine views!

I had an unforgettable experience hiking to Tamarind Falls with Bonjour Mauritius, and I can't recommend it enough! My fantastic guide, Mr. Shane, and driver-guide, San, made this adventure truly special. Mr. Shane's expertise and passion for nature shone through as he led me through the lush forests and scenic trails. He ensured my safety and comfort throughout the hike, making sure we had plenty of water breaks and time to take in the breathtaking views and photos. San, my driver-guide, was equally impressive. His warm smile and friendly demeanour set the tone for a fantastic day. The Tamarind Falls themselves were spectacular. The hike was moderately challenging, I had an opportunity to swim under a magnificent waterfall, and the scenery and sense of accomplishment made it well worth the effort. I’m so grateful to Bonjour Mauritius, Mr. Shane, and San for creating an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a unique and immersive adventure in Mauritius, look no further!
Our hike was hands down one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Mauritius. Our guide Sanjeev was very friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the natural beauty of his island. The waterfall trail itself was stunning—lush greenery, birdsong all around, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere. Sanjeev was incredibly patient, making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable, whether we were navigating a tricky path or stopping for photos. Highly recommend Sanjeev! +230 5815 4375 message him to book!
We were a bit surprised when we got 6.15am confirmed as a pick up time. When we reached the starting point of the hike, we were the only car. We did the hike along six of the seven falls and were the only group for quite some time. This was great to get some amazing pictures with no other tourists in the frame, we could swim, enjoy the pedicure fish and only at the very end we started to see a lot more tourist who took the short cut straight down to the 6th fall. Since we started early, we also avoided the scorching heat later in the day. I recommend to bring mosquito repellant, sunscreen, bathing clothes, towels and plenty of water. You may walk through some dense forest and later also through the sugar cane field, so you might want to consider long and light pants to avoid scratches.
Very well organized hike with lots to learn and discover. It was really a pleasant experience and one of my favorite activities
This hike (the extended one with all 7 waterfalls) is not for everybody. It is challenging and requires climbing on slippery rocks and branches using both hands, gloves for climbing is preferable. Passing through creeks. Wear hiking shoes, proper clothes for climbing and lots of water. It is a beautiful reward swimming in a waterfall and then walking behind another!
As ever, pickup was on time with a really lovely taxi driver called Budo. Our guide for the falls was Daryeau. He was brilliant and told us so much more about the wildlife and plants and we felt very safe with him. A trip you should definitely take but it is a bit more challenging than we expected or advertised, but we managed ok despite being in our mid sixties! The scenery was spectacular and our photos of the day are a fantastic reminder of such a beautiful place
We had a great hike. Our tour guide was very helpful. After hike the lunch provided was amazing. It was a 3-4 hours hike.
The collection from the hotel was a pleasant addition of the tour. The taxi arrived as stated and a comfortable scenic ride both to and from hike. The hike to the waterfalls was steep in some areas and the rain added a challenge to the ascent and desent.....hike NOT suited for those who are unfit, over weight or aged. The guides were knowledgeable about the trail. Fruit and juice was provided during the hike.....water was not provided or offered as stated in hike description. Lovely scenery and guides allowed plenty of time for picture taking and swimming. At the conclusion of the tour, a lovely and delicious homemade Indian snacks and beverages were provided at the home of the tour operator and served by his gracious & hospitable wife and the guides. The hike was the perfect length about 3 hrs. A good day was had by all.
Leaving at 7:30 am from Grand Bay, after an hour by car, we start the walk of the 7 waterfalls, in good spirits, by a discovery of the sugar cane fields, with a friendly young guide. The descent on the first waterfall set the tone: feel in earth soaked amid sharp rocks and slippery roots. The slope of the trail makes it necessary to catch up with the branches and trees that line this rainforest. The waterfalls follow one another, magnificent, after series of trips downhill and up steep. The rain having invited us in the middle of the 3 hour walk, the terrain seemed more and more dangerous. We came out of it with a dislocated shoulder for me and a compote back for my companion. On reflection, this walk on a soggy terrain seemed dangerous... Good hearing...
Fantastic hotel Strongly recommend Special thanks to KRISHNA JEAN FRANCOIS AND THE WHOLE TEAM Food service very nice welcome as usual Come you will not be disappointed
It’s not a relaxing hike. It is short but technical and without climbing. Given the humidity, you will come out very dirty. Plan shoes and dirty clothes. Bring water! Otherwise I recommend the place is superb.
very pleasant walk even at the end of the dry season because the waterfalls are less spectacular. The elevation gain is quite accessible even to people who do not have a great hiking habit.
The views were exceptional our guide Sanjeev is a nature lover that he knows at his fingertips. Thank you to him for this wonderful excursion. Sanjeev +230 5815 4375
An extraordinary hike! Despite the grey weather and a little rain the day went as if in a dream. We did the day (7 stunts) yet without being great athletes and it was great! Our Guide is someone really interesting and very kind 😊 who made us discover the virtues of plants and amazing places. He was very attentive to adapt to everyone’s pace and even offered to help us get great pictures of the beautiful landscapes. Sublime waterfalls where we could swim, that was the top. The typical Mauritian snacks prepared by his wife were really delicious. Another big thank you to them I recommend 100% go with your eyes closed!
I went on a hike along the waterfalls with my wife. We were picked up from the hotel in a taxi and driven to the waterfalls. There the taxi driver then called our tour guide, who then led the tour with us. We were at the waterfalls just before 7 a.m. So there were no other tour groups there yet and we were able to enjoy nature as a couple with the guide. The guide had to thaw out a bit at first but then became more and more talkative. There wasn't much information about the place but that wasn't necessary with the breathtaking views. In between we were even able to swim in a waterfall and were provided with local delicacies. The hiking trail leads through steep slopes and slippery surfaces. Sturdy shoes and a good basic level of fitness are required for this trip. There is no official hiking trail and some of the paths are very adventurous. Nevertheless, I can still recommend this hike to anyone who likes a bit of adventure and great views.
A superb hike, a guide of extreme kindness and kindness (Daryeau ) Beautiful landscapes Lots of aches and pains for me the next day but it was worth it. Especially provide good sneakers or hiking shoes. Hiking not suitable for little ones, too difficult in places. I booked through TripAdvisor, the organization is perfect, TripAdvisor works with real professionals it's serious. we pick you up directly from your hotel to take you to the activity. On site the guide is waiting for you and the taxi driver drops you off at your hotel. Especially write to the provider once the activity is booked to ask for the exact time you are picked up to be on time at the meeting point vs. the activity.
