Full-day Catamaran Cruise To Île Aux Cerfs With Bbq Lunch

A relaxing day out in the water. Unexpectedly wonderful and tasty BBQ lunch. Generous drinks through out the trip. Enjoyed the stops for snorkelling and time to look around or just swim at the Island. Rocking music throughout the trip to keep the whole family entertained! Highly recommended

From the moment we got on board we were so looked after waited on hand and foot drinks continuesly offered well fed and all the staff were so nice friendly couldn't stop asking if you wanted anything, told you things and passed on local knowledge which was great, would highly recommend this trip and crew they were above and beyond massive thanks we had a great day 😀 😊 😄

This is a lovely experience, that we had with the family (couple plus two mature teenage daughters). The cost that we paid I think was pricy but sometimes you do pay, just for that piece of mind. The session was all day (pick up, experience and return). At all times, the crew kept us well hydrated, and as this was the Mauritian winter period, the crowd was less. Atmosphere was chilled, but there was music. The food was good, but there was not enough BBQ which was amazing. However, there was lots of drink!! There was time for snorkeling at the start. However, the beach at il aux cerfs (apologies if I have got the spelling completely wrong) was a bit too much, and there was not much to do there. Definitely a recommended activity, but maybe find a cheaper price, if you can.

We had a great time. All of the staff were fantastic, and the lunch and drinks provided were great. Even the bad weather at the start couldn’t put a downer on the day.

We booked our experience (2 adults and two teenage daughters) via the holiday company. NB. Personally I think this was overpriced. However, the experience of the day and the hosts (Captain Roody, Billy? and Nando) was exceptional. They looked after everyone on the catamaran and to Ill Aux Cerf and back. They took us snorkeling and via the waterfall, which could not get too close as it was a big vessel and then to Ils Aux Cerf for our own time. Travel to there was via the holiday company. Food from the BBQ was amazing although more chicken would have been appreciated. However, the drinks did keep following!!! However, you go, this is a must do experience... Just get the right price.

Our 5th time I think :) Always a fun trip and always different due to the people that you share the trip with. Staff professional and fun. Good organisation, friendly. Lovely BBQ. Beautiful trip, just love every minute of it. Highly recommended.

Really disappointing. Trip advertised to start at 9 am but didn't leave until after 9.30 - annoying as we'd been up since the crack of dawn to make sure we got there on time. No tea on board, despite being listed as being provided. Ran aground, twice, meaning we only had an hour on the island. The island itself is pretty but basically just a commercial exercise. You are greeted by a salesman pushing activities such as parasailing or directing you to the bar. The recommended swimming spot is a small channel between the islands, a very uninviting stretch of essentially stagnant water. The other area, in front of the main beach, is so shallow it felt as though you could walk all the way to the Seychelles and not get wet above the knees. Even if you could swim there is no coral and no fish, just thousands of sea urchins. And, worst of all, loud pounding, mostly awful music throughout the trip. Why? There were all ages on our trip, from a child to 80 years old. It would be impossible to find music to suit all tastes. We were surrounded by natural beauty, let us enjoy it in peace. The return journey, almost 2 hours, was just a test of endurance. The music, amazingly, got worse (dire Euro pap disco) and louder. The trip seemed to be more enjoyable for the people who took ample advantage of the alcohol on board, so maybe getting hammered is the way to go. Otherwise, just head to Blue Bay.

I eventually chose this option after it was recommended to me, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the decision. From the very beginning, the team was absolutely wonderful. They helped my mum every step of the way with such patience, kindness, and genuine care. My mum has arthritis and both of my parents are elderly, so I was naturally concerned about their comfort and whether they would be well looked after. I needn't have worried at all. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate their needs, making sure they were comfortable, supported, and able to fully enjoy the experience. What touched me most was how kind and considerate everyone was. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and they treated my parents with such warmth and respect. It truly made all the difference. There was also an incredible variety of drinks, snacks, and food available throughout the day, and everything was well organised and thoughtfully prepared. On top of that, their pricing was very reasonable and offered excellent value for money. Thank you so much for helping make my parents' day so special. Seeing them happy, comfortable, and creating wonderful memories together meant the world to me. They came home smiling and talking about their experience, and that is something I will always be grateful for. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially those looking for a caring and accommodating experience for elderly family members. Thank you again for making it such a memorable day for my mum and dad. ❤️

The tour is awesome. However we were flattered by the kind of hospitality provided by the boat staff, they were so polite and friendly, which made our trip even more fun and enjoyable. We were with a toddler and they did everything possible to help us feel home.

We enjoyed the whole dining experience. Ribs and pulled pork with all the sides were delicious. Peach cobbler knockout. Doc & Sue will be back!

Great catamaran experience! The boat was very clean, the staff friendly and professional, and it was fantastic to have a woman as our captain 👏. The BBQ was tasty, the rum punch and music created a great vibe, and the places we visited were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended!

On the first leg, it was awesome going to the locations. On the way back, I would say if you don't drink or are not young and super enthusiastic, this would not be suitable for you (families with kids). It was not the best trip going back, but other than that it was ok.

Brilliant day on the Catamaran. A really engaged and fantastic crew, with great opportunities for swimming, sun bathing and an excellent barbecue lunch. The only negative is the 1 hour and a half on Il aux Cerfs, which to be honest a a bit of a grotty, overpriced tourist trap. It would be much better to find a quite beach or just stay aboard the catamaran and have a swim.

Had a wonderful day! The boat guys were attentive and catered to everyone’s needs. Everything was lovely - the weather, the staff, the food and the snorkeling. Great day out with the whole family!

Very enjoyable experience even though we felt the time spent on Ille Aux Cerf to short -especially if you do parasailing then there is NO time left to explore the island - maybe leave the fruitless trip to the waterfall as the big catamaran can not get close to the waterfall. We also found it a mission to find your agent Jonathan when we arrived at the departure point and he did not answer his phone neither to us or our taxi driver. As there is many people departing from the same place (but different agencies) maybe it is advisable to make your agent more visible for example with a TRIPADVISOR Tshirt or something else to make him stand out or easily recognizable

This catamaran excursion was incredible. The water color and coastal views were unreal — honestly, no photo from my phone did it justice, no matter what filter I tried. It’s one of those places that just has to be seen in person. The vibe on board was perfect. We played music on the catamaran, which immediately set a fun, relaxed tone, and the crew kept the drinks and food flowing the entire time. It felt social, easygoing, and effortlessly enjoyable rather than staged or touristy. Between the scenery, the atmosphere, and how well everything was run, this was easily one of the highlights of Mauritius. If you’re even considering a catamaran day trip here, don’t overthink it — just do it.

We hired this catamaran for a private 50th birthday party, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was absolutely amazing. The boat itself was fantastic - spacious, spotless, and perfect for celebrating with friends. The crew were incredible: friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we all had an unforgettable time. A special mention has to go to the skipper, Riaz. He was super accommodating, warm, and full of great energy. He had everyone dancing throughout the cruise and made the whole experience feel relaxed, fun, and personal. We did stop at an Ile Aux Cerfs, which was lovely, but honestly, the cruise itself was the real highlight for us. The atmosphere on board, the music, the views, and the overall vibe made it truly special. Highly recommend this catamaran cruise for anyone looking to celebrate a milestone or just enjoy an incredible day on the water. We’ll be talking about this one for a long time!

Great experience. Lovely team! Absolutely worth the money. The trip lasted about 5 hours. We had a beyond enriching experience. Had plenty of food. They ensured vegetarian food was available as per our dietary preference. Must do for every age group. It was the highlight of our trip to Mauritius

Great one day experience on a nice boat very limited sailing most of the time we motored. very friendly crew, stayed two hours on the island which was nothing too spectacular. Food was good, but not a lot for everybody. Drinks whereas described.

Easy to find, lots to drink (soft and alcoholic) great lunch and fun people. It was also much quieter than all the other tours we passed, smooth sailing.

Tour is beautiful, confortable and clean boat/catamaran size, crew is very friendly and polite (Patrick and Scott). We were only eight passengers that day and each person had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the ride! There were good drinks (wine, rum, beer, sparkling water etc) and they prepared some vegan food for me, while the others had a barbecue. I totally recommend it.

We have just returned from a wonderful day on the Island Hopper Catamaran. The day was amazing, only eight of us on board, we had drinks flowing all day and a delicious lunch cooked by the lovely Scott. Patrick (the Skipper) and Scott made the trip by being friendly and helpful and couldn’t have looked after us better. Thank you both very much.

Our team was late by 30mins but they waited for us with no problem. Drinks were flowing for all 6hours and food was delicious. Staff was friendly and the ppl we found on the boat. They also played our playlist and the tour guide was very informative.

A wonderful experience. A must do in Mauritius. Pricing can be a bit competitive. The people were nice. The food was good. One of the washrooms was a bit of a challenge. However, the guidance was appropriate.

What a fabulous time we had on the day catamaran trip. Plenty of space for everyone and numbers are limited. All of the crew were attentive, jovial and made sure they paid everyone attention throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and drinks flowed freely (both soft drinks and alcoholic). Beach time was lovely and well organised and meal onboard was plentiful and delicious. The music and optional dancing on the way back finished the day off perfectly. Great from start to finish.

The catamaran trip to Île aux Cerfs was truly a highlight of our holiday in Mauritius. From the very beginning, the atmosphere on board was wonderful – the crew was not only friendly and professional, but also in a great mood. You could feel that they genuinely enjoyed what they were doing, taking care of us attentively throughout the day while also entertaining us and sharing interesting explanations. We felt completely comfortable on board. There was plenty of space, everything was relaxed, and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The other passengers were also in high spirits, which quickly created a cheerful and easy-going mood. The trip offered the perfect balance of activity and relaxation: we had plenty of time for snorkeling in the open sea and later enjoyed some leisure time on the island itself – relaxing on the beach and taking in the beautiful nature. Lunch on board was simple but really tasty and freshly prepared. Drinks were available throughout the day, so no one was left thirsty. On the way back, the crew played music that lifted the mood even more – some people even started dancing, which rounded off the day perfectly. We were also lucky with the weather, which certainly made the experience even better. But even apart from that, the whole trip – from booking and organization to the execution – was excellent. For us, it was an absolutely wonderful day that we will remember fondly. Highly recommended!

The experience was very good. The catamaran was nice, clean and food was good. The guys made sure that liquor or food service is really good. He made sure that I keep on having my beer all the time. We couldn't see the fall. Beach is nice.

Staff phenomenal, barbecue delicious unfortunately not many fish at the reef and on the day we visited there was not a dolphin or turtle in site!

We had a wonderful day, with perfect weather and an excellent and helpful crew. The team gave us an overview of the day and what to expect and couldn't do enough for us. There were not too many other guests on the boat which also made the trip more relaxing and comfortable. The bbq was also delicious and we managed to spot a group of dolphins up close! Loved it

They cooked up a delicious bbq of fresh fish and chicken. Seconds available if wanted. We saw dolphins on our way to snorkel, snorkelling equipment is provided if needed or bring your own. The island is beautiful and plenty of time allowed there. Timings on board and off board were perfect. Highly recommend this trip!! Don’t miss out!

We booked this catamaran cruise after seeing its high ratings on Tripadvisor, but the overall experience was just okay. Food: The food served on board was quite good and well-prepared. Atmosphere: The vibe, however, felt a little cold. The music and overall energy were average, and it lacked the lively atmosphere we had hoped for. Crew & Service: Compared to another catamaran cruise we experienced near Flic en Flac—where the crew were exceptionally friendly, engaging, and courteous—the staff on this trip felt distant, not very interactive, and less indulgent. While it wasn’t a bad outing, it certainly didn’t feel as fulfilling as expected, especially given the strong reviews online.

Even though we had a long drive from Grand Baie to get to the pickup point, my wife and I really liked this tour, with a few exceptions. It was not very well organized in figuring out who to inquire with at the meeting point or which boat was ours. We had to figure out who to ask (by asking to use the bathroom on the boat as there are no bathrooms onsite), and even then there were no announcements made to everyone there. You kinda just had to figure it out. My wife and I think signs would help a lot, as well as a general announcement to everyone there. Once on board, the cruise itself was very chill and relaxed and at a slow-paced speed. Luckily we had a good, friendly crew and the people we sat with were very friendly. We all felt very free to move around the catamaran and find comfortable spots to catch some sun and a nice view. The snorkeling spot was good and we saw a good amount of sea life. We could’ve snorkeled longer, but we had to stay on schedule. The cruise up the river to see the waterfalls was nice. We even saw some monkeys in the trees. Unfortunately we couldn’t get too close to the falls because the boat was too big. The barbecue lunch was tasty, but not enough. We liked the fish, but wish we could get more. Once we got to the beach, then it was a typical touristy beach with all the touristy activities (parasailing, banana boat, etc.). We were there for about an hour, so not enough time to really relax. At that point, we were ready to head back to hit the long drive (in rush hour) back to our hotel in Grand Baie. Overall it was a nice, relaxed tour. As I said earlier, there were only a few exceptions that could’ve been improved upon.

It was an unforgettable experience! The views were stunning, and the atmosphere was relaxing throughout. The crew truly made it special — they were incredibly kind, sweet, and attentive. Highly recommended for a perfect day at sea!

This was a great cruise run excellently by a first class crew. They were thorough and safe (another cruise we did in Mauritius was NOT so this is why this stuck out for us.) It was laid back, good food, good music - all good!!

The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The boat was clean, modern, and comfortable. Lunch and drinks were included, which was a pleasant surprise and really added to the overall experience. Everything ran smoothly and on time. Catamaran was on time, safe, excellent crew, excellent bbq, rum was delicious! It was a beautiful ride to Ile aux cerfs, seeing dolphins swim right up to the boat and a few small sea turtles along the way. Ile aux cerfs was more of a beach relaxation place, with tables, lounge chairs, small shops, and rather secluded island. All was beautiful!

We had such a fantastic day out on the catamaran! The crew were super friendly, played some great music and were fab hosts - constantly refilling our drinks! The food was also brilliant and the snorkelling before you arrive at ile aux cerfs is really beautiful. The island itself is lovely and this trip is a great way to see it. Overall, the trip is definitely worth the price and we would recommend to anyone staying in Mauritius.

This trip was the highlight of our holiday, of which there were many on Mauritius. Large,stable and comfortable cat’ with upbeat crew making everyone very welcome and having fun. That said it everything was professionally done and safety clearly paramount. Crew were fantastic with a couple of young children on board who were having the time of their lives. Brilliant to sail close to dolphins, again full consideration was given so as not to disturb these wonderful creatures. While a sighting is not promised all effort was made to locate the pod enroute. Snorkelling was great elsewhere from the dolphins but still over the coral. Delicious bbq and generous drinks, again all served with cheerful, hard working crew. Good amount of time to relax on terra firma at island destination where there were all required facilities. While there are other catamaran trip providers we have no hesitation recommending Catamaran Cruises for a guaranteed quality experience.

Really love this experience, the Crew were very helpful and skilful and accommodating and the BBQ lunch was delicious. Highly recommended this cruise.
