Taste Lausanne – A Full Swiss Food Tour By Do Eat Better

We had a wonderful time walking throughout Lausanne and trying so many different Swiss foods; it was all delicious! Definitely arrive hungry! Christina shared so many stories and cultural influences, we enjoyed every moment and bite. Thank you!

It was very informative and fun. The food was delicious and the tour was great overall. We were late at the meeting time but Christina our guide still waited and called us that was really a thoughtful gesture. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Laussane!!

This was a perfect way to see and learn about Lausanne. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. We went to a good variety of restaurants, and the food did not disappoint. It was just a perfect day. We highly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed this food tour. Our guide, Christophe, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about Lausanne and Switzerland, both historically and in terms of current events, and he also had a great understanding of Swiss food and culinary culture. He encouraged questions throughout the tour, was very easy to talk to, and was always informative without making the experience feel like a lecture. The places Christophe chose were outstanding examples of the particular foods they served. The tastings gave us a very good overview of Swiss cuisine, and there was more than enough food to make a full meal. The pace was also just right—we had plenty of time at every stop to sit back and really enjoy what we were eating. We particularly appreciated that the tour wasn't only about food. As we walked through Lausanne, Christophe shared his knowledge of the city and helped us understand what we were seeing, both historically and in present-day Lausanne. There really isn't anything we would have changed about the experience. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about Swiss cuisine while also getting to know Lausanne. Our Tour guide Christina was a pure gem! She was very knowledgable and gave us a great backround of the history and culture. We had wonderful pastries and a delightful stop to sample various cheeses. We stopped for a nice lunch with wine and then on for some delicious chocolate dessert and last but no least for the drink of Switzerland--Hot chocolate! It was a wonderfull way to spend some time in Lausanne with such a friendly tour guide! I would highly recommend this tour!!

Very enjoyable and personal experience. We had an open day in Lausanne and wanted a taste of the local food and we had the best time. Along the way we learned a lot about the city and our guide was knowledgeable and added many interesting details about the city and the food culture. It was a great kick start to our Swiss vacation and I could not recommend it more. Every person we met at the establishment were so welcoming and it was a great value too.

We had an awesome experience on our food tour of Lausanne with Christina! The meeting place was easy to find and Christina was waiting for us. We started with an appetizer of pate, next onto a selection of cheeses, to a delicious potato dish (Rösti, I think) and then dessert of Carac. Lastly some outstanding hot chocolate. I would recommend the dark hot chocolate. Our tour was excellent. Christina gave us a great background and history of the area and the various sights She stopped for pictures and gave thorough explanations of history. She answered all of our questions Christina was very personable. Would highly recommend taking this tour, arrive hungry as you will be very full and maybe need to take some as leftovers. Chris was a fantastic tour guide for Lausanne! The tour was with just me and my husband, and Chris was great at answering our many questions about the area, the culture, etc. The food was so interesting and so good (and SO filling! - Don’t eat breakfast beforehand). We visited during a heat wave in May, and the food was possibly a bit heartier and warmer than expected, but that’s the case with most Swiss local food. We thoroughly enjoyed this, and it was a highlight of our Switzerland trip.

We toured with Christina in Sept of 2025. Surprisingly my husband and I were the only 2 of the tour. It was an amazing experience touring Lausanne and an easy way to see the sight and try the local food. We had plenty of food and enjoyed trying it all! We took the train from Montreux and found it easy to meet up with Christina. I would recommend this to anyone.

By the end, we felt like we’d truly experienced the heart (and flavor) of the city. The food tour was better than anticipated. Our guide, Christophe, did a phenomenal job. My wife and I were his only clients that day, so it was a personal tour. Christophe has a wonderful outgoing personality and he blended his knowledge of the city and local foods to make a very interesting walking tour. It was a bit rainy but that did not dampen his presentation and he kept us engaged the entire time. The foods were delicious and in shops with so much history which Christophe pointed out. I think we tasted a wide ranging sample of foods from simple starters, a delicious assortment of local cheeses, a main course and finishing with dessert and a hot chocolate. I highly recommend anyone traveling to Lausanne, to join this food tour with Christophe. You will be entertained and enjoy a wide range of local foods. Ron Coffey

Christophe was just a delight, so easy to talk to and clearly enjoyed sharing his city with us. The food was spectacular. A beautiful cheese shop, amazing charcuterie, the oldest restaurant in Lausanne, and a wonderful walking tour of the old city to see all the places. And of course, the chocolate shop. A taste of Switzerland's best food offerings. Be sure to start the tour hungry!

Really nice food tour! Very filling so pace yourself. Lots of background history discussed. Many important sites of Lausanne pointed out on the way to six different food shops/ restaurants. Our guide , Christina, was wonderful.

Christina was a fantastic guide! We enjoyed our time with her sampling the local cuisine. She was a fantastic host and explained the local sites as well as the most loved foods eaten by locals. We appreciated her pace, guiding and selection of foods for us to sample. Great afternoon! Highly recommend if you visit Lausanne.

Christina did a great job explaining the food ingredients and history. One of the better food tours we’ve taken in the past 10 years. The tasting exceeded our expectations. There was just too much food. We started with a little history tour then a tasting of French pastries, Next we went to a locally owned cheese shop and had a large, wide selection of cheeses. Onto a historic restaurant, Pinte Besson for lunch! From there we went to a French pastry shop for desert. Lastly we went had a Swiss “Chocolat Chaud ”. Beautiful afternoon of food and history, over 3 hours. While worth the price, considering you are in Switzerland.

Our tour was great! Our tour guide did a great job telling us about the city in addition to the food. He made us feel very comfortable and immersed in the culture. The food food we had was very traditional and I felt like we got a true taste of Switzerland. Christophe was a fantastic tour guide and even took the time to give us extra recommendations for the remainder of our trip.

Would highly recommend taking this tour, make sure that you are hungry as you will be very full after eating plenty, and bring all of your questions for a great experience! I loved this tour and Lausanne! We're doing a tour of Switzerland and Lausanne was such a beautiful discovery. A city and also a small village, with delicious cuisine. In this tour we discovered food I never heard about, tasted delicious cheese, pastries and chocolate of course! And the guide was great as well!
