I was in Carlton hotel for three days and I have experienced such a pleasant stay. All the staff, from the receptionists through waitresses to cleaning staff was incredibly nice and polite, willing to help me a lot with my bike, luggage any formalities, or just any other. The location between the lake and city center makes it really convenient to experience the best parts of Lausanne. Absolutely would recommend.
Love this charming hotel! We are staying for a week and are very happy to be here. Charming rooms, delightful balcony which really adds to the enjoyment of staying here. I start my day on the balcony which is bathed in sunshine and come back to it mid afternoon when I need a break from walking around this beautiful city. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful and we often slept with the balcony door ajar it is so quiet here. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast room is charming and the service prompt and very friendly. The front desk staff are wonderful. Very helpful in suggesting places to go and where to eat. Maeve is especially delightful. The hotel is located right next to the local train which is free for hotel guests and quickly takes you anywhere you’d like to go in Lausanne. Located close to the lake which is a lovely spot to enjoy a stroll or sitting on one of the many benches, people watching. The only thing to mention for North American guests: no body lotion in the rooms, which is unusual for us. Otherwise no complaints!
The arrival is already delightful. Under a grand tree, you park your car and walk into a beautiful hotel lobby. Many thanks to receptionist Louise, who handled our check-in problem beautifully and most professionally. We‘ve got upgraded to a classic room with balcony which was a lovely surprise. The room is lovely, beautifully decorated and very clean. You feel at home in a foreign city right from the very beginning. Thank you!
Sorry, this is not a 4-star hotel. Maximum 3 stars. The hotel is very old. That's why only one star from me. The rooms are old. The carpet is dirty.
Cons: Room and bath were small. Carpet was seriously stained and in need of replacement. Not in the older neighborhood of the city, away from restaurants and entertainment. Pros: Quiet area and rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Location close to Metro stop. Staff was helpful and attentive.Area is safe and clean.
