Fantastic tour with great audio — perfect amount of history and detail. I especially liked the descriptions of the various hikes accessible from the overlook stops. Great way to visit Red Rock Canyon!

Itinerary
Welcome to Red Rock Canyon! This dazzlingly colorful landscape serves as a window into the earth’s geologic past and human history in the Americas. Note: This 13+mile-long tour covers the essentials of Red Rock in 4-5 hours. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
Today the Calico Hills are mounds of hard, red rock, but they looked completely different 180 million years ago. Back then, you’d instead find a huge field of shifting sand dunes.
Up ahead is Sandstone Quarry Overlook, where miners used to harvest sandstone!
The Calico Basin Trail is a fairly easy 1.5 mile out-and-back trail that will show you some new angles of the Calico Hills, but it mostly serves as a connecting route to other longer trails.
Need a break from the heat? The Ice Box Canyon Trail is just ahead. After a 15-minute walk through the desert, we’ll find ourselves flanked by cliff walls that create a whole new biome.
This spot is particularly popular among bird-watchers, as many of the over 100 species of birds in Red Rock can be seen from this open, unobstructed view.
Up ahead is High Point Overlook, the highest point we’ll see on our tour at 4,780 feet above sea level!
Red Rock Canyon Overlook is just ahead. This overlook offers amazing panoramic views, so get your camera ready!
If you’re visiting Red Rock Canyon during the wetter months of April-December, you might be enticed to venturing into Lost Creek Canyon!
This easy trail offers a nice walk and a peek into history at the same time. The 2.4 mile, 2-hour out-and back trail leads to the entrance of Pine Creek Canyon.
If you really enjoy the aerial views, and want to see Red Rock Canyon like the soaring raptors do, Turtlehead Mountain is a must.

Accurate and informative. Great way to spend some time in Vegas when you need a break from the glitz of the strip. And, ActionTours has great customer service!
Loved it! Can't wait to go back and hit some trails! Must do while in Vegas and enjoy the ride! Enjoy and dress for the weather
That they need to purchase a separate ticket through a government website. This should be made abundantly clear. I thought it included the fee.
This was the best way I have ever visited Red Rock Canyon. I appreciated being able to stay in the car while listening to the facts of the area as well as while taking photographs.
The audio tour was great, gave history and landmarks and knew where we were for each stop. Very cool!
Beautiful scenery! Been here twice. The audio for $14.99 is worth it for the information. Wish it could have been longer!
The guided tour worked very well. It was nice to drive and learn some geographical and historical facts about each of sightseeing stops. The program worked very well if you follow instructions how to prepare ahead and download the program prior to this guided tour drive. $15.00 very well spent
The information made the experience completely better than not having any descriptions and guidance. It was easy to access and play.
The tour started out great, but once we stopped to walk around a little, it would not sync to our area. It only would restart from the beginning. We gave up!
I was nicely surprised. The audio tour was very good. There were five of us in our car. We stopped at all of the highlighted area and hiked around. Loved the tour!
Arrived at Red Rock and I still had to pay to get in and no one knew of this service. They stated that I got scammed.
The audio tour enriched our experience thru the canyon. Lots of information and it enhanced the drive. Well worth it. Thanks!
SCAM! There is NOT a driving scenic audio tour. You can drive around but there is no audio. I purchased it through Trip Advisor so beware! Scam.
This was a nice break from Las Vegas. It’s an easy drive and the audio program was awesome. The views were nice, although we are very spoiled as we’ve seen so much beauty in nature that this wasn’t a top drive. Still, we had a nice time.
Not much info to listen to! Wouldn’t do this one again. Red Rock Canyon was 20 bucks to enter and is already basically a self guided tour so this didn’t add much except explaining how the layers were formed.
Red Rock was amazing. The app to get tickets was miss leading. Military didn’t have to pay and the charge is for during peak season. So basically we donated the money. Positive note it is an awesome experience.
Using the auto tour guide was terrific it encouraged us to stop at places. We might not otherwise have done so in the red rock Canyon preserve. The information provided was short yet very informative regarding the geology, geography history, and people of this beautiful land. Easy to use your buy it download it to your phone before you get to the site to ensure you have Internet capacity. Then you simply open the app when you get close to your destination and it will startautomatically. There will be silence spaces as you move between locations being narrated well worth 15 bucks.
The audio tape was very helpful in explaining the history of the Canyon and explaining the beautiful sites along the tour.
What a fun way to see the Red Rock Canyon. Go at your own pace, explore where you want and how long you want. The narrative was interesting and informative - things that we would not have know to look for if we did not have this app. The app worked perfectly - simple to use as long as you follow the simple directions. Will definitely look for more of these tours.
Definitely would do this type of tour again. The app worked perfectly and the narrations was interesting and informative. WE stumbled upon a couple of the Alt spots just by driving by them. All of a sudden, the app was speaking again. A nice bonus.
This self guided tour is absolutely amazing! The information given was very interesting and amazing, and the road directions were spot on. There were several places to stop to get pictures.
