The shie was excellent, well done and did a great job honoring the late Prince Roger Nelson. I will definitely be back.
Prince did a nice job. At times others were out singing n dancing that appeared to be another show imitating another artist other then Prince n we did not know who it was suppose to be or recognize the songs. It was very dark in the theater as well as the stage itself. . The show used SMOKE the ENTIRE time the show was on. I have been to shows where they might use the smoke scene for one song or part of the start of the show, but never the entire show and never this much smoke. It really took away from enjoying the show and seeing the outfits clearly and the colors. They did not want you taking any pictures at all. The other two shows we went to at planet Hollywood, we could take all the pictures we wanted, they encouraged us. He did a great job singing PRINCE songs. I wish the entire thing would’ve been Prince music. This particular night, the margaritas did not taste good at all. I would not go again.
It was a great show. Interactive with the audience. Didn't give a 5 because you couldn't bring in alcohol and there was no bar. Too many people for the few people taking drink orders. I mean after all we were there to party like it's 1999, without alcohol tho? Bummer. But we enjoyed the show.
If you have ever seen Prince live, you know right away he takes control and command of the stage and has amazing charisma. The performer had almost none of the above and was pitchy at times. The two guitarist were very good as was the drummer, but they were not the issue. The sound engineer seemed to have fallen asleep at the wheel and the balance was off as well. Oh, then there is the comedy routine that we had no idea was a part of the show. They tried to pull off the Abbott and Costello bit, "Who's on First" with their own twist and it was an abysmal failure. Finally, we were so disappointed because they cut into the music we wanted to hear that with 5 minutes left, we walked out. Don't waste your money!
I didn’t know the show was going to be so highly sexualized with strippers and s&m scenes. I wouldn’t have gone if I’d known this.
Good impersonation, good voice, good band and very talented dancers. The venue is small enough to feel personal with the performers. I recommend it.
Fun and entertaining evening especially if you were a Prince fan in the 80s.
The prince potion of the show was great but a little too much time spent on morris day impersonating. The drink venue absolutely sucks so get your buzz on before arriving
The show deserves a better venue. Upon arrival a little skeptical on the way out we danced the way out! Great show Jason Tenner and cast were excellent. We were dancing & singing through the whole performance. We would this Highly recommend this show!
First off, despite what that Prince tribute artist says, a bad review does not make someone a hater. I doubt that those that love Prince music are going down there to hate the tribute. The performances by "Prince" were outstanding. I would go and see this show again, and probably again, if I were getting 75 minutes of Prince. Instead, we got (I think) 8 Prince songs and 4 Morris Day songs. On top of that, we got some awful comedy with Morris Day and the other guy. It was not funny, and I did not pay to see a tribute artist for a guy that would probably not fill a Vegas showroom in his prime, let alone 40 years later. Additionally, there was no Apollonia appearance. Maybe she was off on a Saturday night, so we got a double dose of Morris Day? I'd rather they just told everyone to take a bathroom break. Another thing I did not enjoy is that they had everyone cheer for different members of the band at least 3 times, like they had short term memory loss. It was a cheap way to keep people clapping about something. By the end, I knew every band member's name. I'll probably not go to this show again, as it is formatted. I have seen MJ Live 3 times, and enjoyed it each time. I was a much bigger Prince fan than an MJ fan growing up, but I'd probably just go see MJ again, if I am spending the time and the money. Prince definitely does not need a supporting cast of nobodies to round out a show. The main band could carry the night just fine. Prince Performances: 5 stars Morris Day Performances: 2 stars Song Quantity: 2 stars
Interactive fun talented and overall an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend and come again
Very fun, great time for the family. Interaction is exciting and fun for everyone. Characters are cool an a throwback.
Verry good show wood see it again Verry exciting The band was great the music took me back to the 80
I thought this show was fantastic and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. Yes, it is an impersonator but all the members of the band played their own instruments and are accomplished. Prince himself would be a tough act to follow but this crew did it right. Definitely would recommend if you are a Prince fan. I'd go to see it again!
Band was not great. We saw them years ago and they were so much better. Singing was definitely off.
We saw this show about 13 years ago when Planet Hollywood had a small cozy lounge club venue. The artist looked like Prince (hair, size, face, etc) and was a super talented musician. If you closed your eyes, you almost thought it was Prince and the Time were equally talented. The performers this time were amateurs with poor vocals and cheesy theatrics. The Prince impersonator wore a cheap wig and was 3 times the size of Prince with poor vocals. Morris Day and Jerome were jokes. I would never recommend this show as a Prince super fan. It was a disgrace to his memory.
It was a great show. He is an exceptional singer, and the musicianship throughout was outstanding. At times, the performance brought back powerful memories of seeing Prince live, which made the experience especially meaningful. I wish the lead performer did not have to appear in costume. The impersonation aspect seemed to constrain his ability to fully express his own artistry. His talent was evident, and I believe that if he had been free to interpret and perform Prince’s music without the limitations of the costume and character, he could have taken the performance to an even higher level. His voice and stage presence were strong enough to stand on their own. In addition, the dancing women were an unneeded distraction to the musicianship of the lead singer and band.
The show was AWESOME. The guys sound just like Prince and Morris Day. I love the fact that it was a small venue. The band was outstanding, very talented.
Wear purple and be prepared for omg….. nastiness! Prince yes, was nasty sometimes but then that’s Prince! This guy was almost dirty MD is/was always always amazing!!!!!
Great performance, fun and engaging! The crowd was on their feet, singing along and the band gave a fantastic performance.
The doors to enter into the show didn’t open until 8:50 and the show didn’t start until after 9:00 pm . It suppose had been at 8:30. The music was too loud for the theater . Over rode the voices
We unfortunately never had the chance to see Prince perform but we can still enjoy a live (tribute) experience by going to see Purple Reign at Planet Hollywood. The band is truly incredible with their high energy and costumes. Jason Tenner can really reach those notes that made Prince so famous the band does sometimes very from the recordings which to me honors Prince instead of imitating him; although Jason does a fantastic job doing that too. If you love Prince you have to see this show. We usually make a half day of it by shopping at the Miricle Mile, having dinner then going to the show. The band is simply Outstanding! You won't be disappointed! Special Note: The Time performers are also Fantastic and have you on your feet!
We had such a great time. Everyone was so talented and had such energy. Great variety of Prince songs.
Sounded nothing like Prince. Very disappointed. Made several comments about how he already had our money and felt more like a strip tease show than a Prince Tribute with the half naked girls...at least they were hot and entertaining
By far, and excellent experience with superior talent!! We really enjoyed the cast bringing their own style to the well-known story of Prince and Morris Day! The musicians were outstanding! After the show, we went back to our room and watched the movie!! By far, a very respectful tribute to one of the most outstanding artists of our time!!
Started not too bad but went down hill rapidly. He couldn’t sing the songs and didn’t look interested tbh, also boasted he already had our money. The show relied on scantily clad dancers for appeal. There wasn’t much of a crowd either, word had definitely got around. We left half way through, what a complete waste of time and money.
It was ok The performer did not connect with the audience and seemed annoyed at times. Said it was going to be a long night after the second song! But then said he would take your money anyway (said that twice!) like what is that? He said if you give a bad review you are a hater. Yet the show started a half hour late and was only 1 hour and 10 minutes long. The Morris Day and The Time were very good and had more energy and dynamics than Prince. The band and dancers were very good. The guy playing Prince could not muster the energy of Prince nor could he dance or hit the notes. I really was hoping it was going to be a better show. I am a huge Prince fan. This show had no frills or special lighting. The flyer advertised “Vanity 6” was also performing and there was none of that. Not a huge production at all. Kind of basic like you would see anywhere. I expected more in Vegas. If you can get cheaper seats like I did that is the only way I would recommend going.
So good! Great experience and very authentic feeling. The entire band was great! Would definitely go again
Awful - sent me an email saying the show was cancelled when it wasn’t. Probably gonna argue about refunding me
Fantastic!! We forgot that we weren’t at an actual Prince concert!! The musicianship was outstanding and Jason Tenner is the best Prince we have ever seen! As lifelong Prince fans (3 from MN) we give Jason, his band and dancers 5 stars!! Morris Day was so fun too! Wonderful show!!
This show was everything! The songs were perfect, the performers were right on point. I would watch the show again. Morris Day and the time were right on time as well. They had the party hype and jumping. We really enjoyed ourselves from beginning to the end.
Loved the show. Highly entertaining and the musicians were amazing. The theater was pretty rundown but that didn’t stop us from having fun but it does merit a 4 star. Would recommend.
They put on a Great show! Everyone had a good time! The crowd was very interactive! Great cast- starting with Jason Tenner
Go see this show!!!! Totally awesome! Great performances and the dancers worked it!!! Can’t wait to get back!
This is an amazing tribute to Prince. The performances were engaging and the audience encouraged to participate. A definite show to see in Las Vegas
Was an epic night. Had a blast, my wife loved it. The whole show is amazing. The venue setup is outstanding.
It was absolutely incredible!! Great performance. The performers were amazing and so authentic. Loved it!!
Haven’t seen the show and already disappointed. I paid for a complimentary drink only to have to ask how to redeem it. No info included when I picked up the tickets. Had to wait in line forever because there was only one bartender. Feels a bit like a Vegas scam. I wonder how many people gave up and didn’t get their free drink.
We met some friends at Planet Hollywood‘s V theater to go to the prince tribute. We had attended this same show several years ago and it was decent. Probably a four out of five. I don’t know what or who we were witnessing. but it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen. The guy playing Prince was heavy. He could not sing a note. He played the music so loud because of that fact, couldn’t even hear the words that were being sung and it was played off key on top of that. Then he left the stage which by the way is no frills at all. And these other two people came out dressed like James Brown and I don’t know Jamie Foxx looking guy. They were horrid as well, they could not sing it was just terrible if there was another word for terrible I would use it, but it was terrible. Finally, after we had waited at least half the show for it to get better. we snuck out through an employees entrance and out of the building. It was that bad. I’m very disappointed in Vegas.com and Ticketmaster for allowing and acts like this to take my money.
What a talented cast! I really enjoyed the Morris Day and his sidekick impersonations. Could have done a little bit less with the suggestive dancers who were very talented but I'm sure some people enjoyed it more than me! Overall, though a great deal of talent and very enjoyable. And at a very good price point!
This is an awesome experience for any Prince fan! The lead performer captured Prince’s essence and sang the most popular songs from the purple rain album. Really enjoyable performance with dancers, an awesome guitarist and supporting band. I would highly recommend for fans as well as those that have yet to experience Prince’s awesome music. It was also a nice treat to include Morris Day and Jerome with classic songs from The Time!
The show was entertaining. I thought the band sounded great but the vocals were a bit lacking. Sometimes it was hard to hear the main singer and we were in the front row. Morris Day and Jerome, I thought, were great! End all, it's an ok show for the price and if you don't have anything better to do.
was so excited to see this show, left feeling like I had a meal that left me still hungry. Jason is a great singer, and the band was really good—my issue was song selection. Like so many great songs to choose from, and I feel Like they just skimmed the surface. I easily could have either skipped the morris day (although he was great) or the 2-3 songs in the middle that I’m sure no one else knew besides me. Or just play for 90 minutes! There’s plenty of material to choose from. would have loved to hear: Delirious I would Die 4 U Take me with you Pop life Thieves in the temple Gett off Nothing compares to U Just to name a few… if it was truly a tribute show it should’ve had more than just the 7 songs played. Also, a little more interaction with the crowd earlier would’ve been nice. He came out and banged out 3 great songs without any audience foreplay, then pivoted to morris day 🙄 really? I know It was their first day back from a break so maybe that was the issue but if I’m being honest Jason seemed like he was going through the motions, although maybe he was trying to capture the Prince-serious vibe. Idk, glad I didn't Pay more, wish it had more meat on the bone.
The show was wonderful and I loved watching the performance. I was trilled to be there and everyone was so excited and a lively
The show was great. The performers looked like the actual artists. They kept the audience engaged and entertained.
Absolutely! One of the best shows we have enjoyed. While waiting in line we heard nothing but laudatory comments about the show.
It was a great show, but VERY loud. Wearing ear plugs would have been a good idea and still been able to enjoy the entire show. The musicians were amazingly talented.
The show is excellent. It includes surprise performances that take it to another level. As a die heart Prince fan, I enjoyed it immensely. May go back and see it again.
The show was fantastic — not a single moment felt slow. I especially loved the Morris Day and The Time tribute. This production really deserves a better theater; the V Theatre isn’t my favorite venue. I heard about the show on our local radio station, KUNV, decided to get tickets, and it was worth every penny.
