*Warning* this group is not accommodating to cancellations. Almost all the other groups I read about were accommodating to last minute cancellations. We had a medical emergency. My son had an eye injury and we went to emergency clinic. They advised not to go on the tour. I explained this to the group, and at first it seemed they would kindly refund us due to the incident. They then suggested he go anyway, or leave him behind. I explained he was 8 years old, we are on a family vacation I can't leave him behind. They were unwilling to make any concessions, not even offer half our money back. This is a warning to book with other groups that are not just about the money, and more accommodating. Originally, we chose them due to a 2 hour experience vs, 5. As I mentioned we have 2 small children. I also noticed they do not have many reviews at all. Perhaps a new business. If they keep up this kind of customer care they may not last. Sadly, I have to write this review to warn other customers and families.

Itinerary
Don’t waste your vacation time and day driving hours to other horseback riding places. We are located around 25 minutes from the N Las Vegas Strip. Both Uber and Lyft come to us. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable guides. After meeting the pretty horses a guide will mount you on a calm horse for a fun adventure through the mountains. The trail area is called Rainbow Gardens because of its beautiful backdrop of surrounding mountains full of purple, burgundy, yellow rock formations with green plants and Red canyon landscape. The geologic layers that help make the Grand Canyon so spectacular are also at our trail site. See a real (inactive) Volcano on your tour. Animals you may encounter on tour this include desert tortoise, lizards, the cotton tale, the burrowing owl, big horn sheep, wild donkeys, coyote, badgers, and chip monks. Relax while your knowledgeable guide and highly trained horses show you the area that once was rode by pioneers that settled Las Vegas. Our guides will snap some “action shots" of you and your group enjoying the ride. Great for showing your friends and family your horseback riding adventure. The tour is approximately 1.5 hour.

Booked as a group, though they overbooked or something, got separated. Had to take turns so our schedule pushed back around two hours. Booked at 12Pm. Two in the morning on the day we booked they gave me a text message that we have to come an hour early. Of course I couldn’t make it. I told them three minutes is the earliest I can arrive And they separated our group. On the photos, it looked like we were gonna ride a horse at red rock or like amazing place, but it ended up to be in a plain flat desert and nothing really to see and we just did a whole big circle and that’s it. The guide seemed fine. He was nice but compared to the price and what we got. It just wasn’t good.
We recently went on a horseback riding trip, and I have to say the actual experience at the ranch was fantastic. The ride itself was beautiful — we went during sunset, and it was such a peaceful, memorable experience. The horses were calm and well-trained, and the ranchers were incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They really made us feel comfortable and taken care of once we arrived. That being said, the customer service leading up to the trip was extremely frustrating. There is no way to speak to a live person — everything is handled through text and email. The communication was unclear, and the contracts and waivers felt excessive and stressful. It made the entire booking process feel overwhelming and uncomfortable. We also had a few issues with logistics. Our group had 13 people, and when we arrived, we were told we had to split into two separate rides. While we appreciated that we weren’t charged extra, we were expecting to ride and dine together as a group, which didn’t happen. The food was okay, but not quite what we expected for a “sunset dinner.” Some items, like the ribs and beans, were delicious, and they also served cornbread, corn on the cob, and apple pie. However, we had requested two vegetarian meals in advance, and those were not provided, which left two people in our group without food. Overall, the experience at the ranch itself was wonderful — beautiful setting, great horses, and amazing ranch staff. But the lack of customer service and communication beforehand made the process much more stressful than it needed to be. If they improve their communication experience, I would definitely consider booking this again. But as it stands, the booking process is entirely too stressful and the communication is very unclear.
Absolutely wonderful and peaceful. Everyone was kind! Kym paired everyone with the perfect horse and was very informative on landscaping, history, etc. I definitely recommend and will taking her other tour next time we come.
Our guide was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable and worked really hard to make sure it was an enjoyable excursion. Horses were calm and relaxed, so good for any level of rider. Beautiful sunset!
Silver State Horseback Riding has horrible customer service. I was accused of taking another customer's food when I purchased a ticket that included a bbq dinner. Since they did not have that information on their end from Viator, and despite me sharing screenshots of my ticket that does include dinner, that somehow made up for the tour guide ending our ride after 15 minutes and them refusing atleast a partial refund of my $260 purchase. The tour guide was concerned about the dark clouds and ended early for safety and while I completely understand safety, we waited outside in the same weather he was concerned about for nearly 30 minutes to receive two cold plates of barbecue only for the guide to say we probably could have kept on riding, since the rain he was expecting never came. The tour guide was great but the customer service of the company sucks!
Had our tour this evening, our guide was lovely & very knowledgeable about the area. She was so patient with the children in our group, and the horses were so well behaved. The scenery of the trial is stunning and there is plenty of wildlife around. On our way home we even spotted a wild donkey! Our meal was delicious; the corn bread & BBQ beans were a bit hit! Thanks for making our last night in Vegas memorable. Our son has said it's been his favourite thing of our 2 week trip!! Thanks guys xxx
Terrible Communication and Unprofessional Experience I had an incredibly disappointing experience. Communication was absolutely awful — I only received a message on the day of the ride, despite having booked in advance. Then, I was asked to change not just the time but the actual date of the ride, which completely disrupted my plans. They kept messing me around with start times, and nothing was confirmed clearly until the last minute. On top of that, the meeting location listed when booking is totally misleading. It ended up being an hour away from the Las Vegas Strip, which is completely unfeasible for most visitors who don't have their own transport or weren't expecting a long commute. Despite all the changes they made to the booking - and the fact that the experience became logistically impossible - they refused to issue a refund. This felt incredibly unfair and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable or custom friendly experience.
We only rode for 45mins and we did not receive the bbq lunch. Our tour guide was made and rush the ride due to her wanting to shot a music video with her friends. She was rude to the horses. I was concerned with the condition of the trail and the damaged it did to the horse's feet. The tour guide was not concerned at all and that's animal cruelty.
We took this tour on Christmas day. Our reservation was messed up, but, ultimately corrected. This adventure is not on a ranch, it’s in the middle of the desert. The photo is the dinner we were handed in plastic bags. There was no table or light to eat by, and unclear where the food was while we were riding? Very poor customer service. Do not recommend.
Showed up with wife and they weren’t expected us even though we confirmed at least 3 times via email and text. Woman was working 8 horses by herself, no one was there to assist. Not smart and not safe for the riders. Horse ride was 40 minute and there was no dinner, no bbq, no NOTHING! Place was a petting zoo. No ranch- description of tour on Viator was 100% false. Old dying horses that everyone felt bad for walking on rocks not sand or dirt but ROCKS! Woman was not personable whatsoever and did.not ask for any feedback or give any details about horses or desert. she seemed like it was a long day and she wanted to go home. We were out in the cold desert expecting a hot dinner and at least a table and chairs. Instead, we were handed a styrofoam container with the worst cold food that was sitting there all day, I came 3000 miles for this adventure and it was a complete waste of my time and money. I will be demanded a full refund!
They don't let you take your own pictures and then the pictures that they take for you as they express they hold hostage for payment that they not tell you about the events. Then threaten they delete time couple hours later if you don't buy. Also they charge extra for pickup and drop off to a third party to drop us off but didn't pick up almost left us stranded and dinner was cold late and in the dark.... the four other people on the door felt the same way. The ride was extremely mild and no fun at all except for the horse fighting my Dismount at the end which was the most exciting part of the journey. Very lame trip and not very Scenic at all although the guide was very polite the company behind the trip was not.
Horrible experience. When loading up you are told you can't take any pictures, the guides will. Fast forward, i have called and emailed multiple times with no answer. It has been over a year and still no pictures. I even offered to buy them. Nope. The bbq dinner is takeout from town that sits in their car while you do your ride and is ice cold by the time you get it. The two women that were the guides were more interested in talking to each other than pointing out any local flora or fauna. The location was hard to find and they ONLY communicate by text. I had more fun walking around the desert for free on my own. Save your money or go on a better ride. On top of everything else, it's also boring and definitely doesn't last an hour.
My wife and I went on a sunset ride for our anniversary and it was beautiful. The horses were well behaved and the scenery was amazing! Thanks so much- we will definitely be back for another ride with the rest of our family.
I had an amazing time horseback riding in Las Vegas! My horse, Oreowas gentle and easy to ride. Our guide, Graycewas very knowledgeable about the trail and made the experience even better. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious dinner of ribs, corn pie, beans, and cornbread. Highly recommended!
The views were amazing. Guide took photos of us on horseback. We had joker and rodeo. What great horses they were so calm made me less nervous as this was my first time riding. We will be back.
The location of this journey changed. They would not call us only text and would have answer their phone. The ride was supposed to be 90 minutes was only 60 minutes. The horse company blamed Viator for the short ride, but the start time is posted clearly on their website as 7pm. The meal was given to us in styrofoam boxes and plastic bags. The corn was not edible and the ribs were burnt. Have gone on many horseback rides in US and Europe this was the most customer unfriendly experience.
Our Guide Charlie was awesome. We did the Sunset Tour and it was an Absolutel Beautiful Ride and Horses! Definitely recommend!
Extremely sketchy and non responsive. Booked our ride for 4pm, confirmed our reservation through text, spent $100 to uber from the Las Vegas strip, texted arrival (which were the instructions provided) and they mentioned it was too hot to ride and our reservation was moved to 7p. I could go on with the frustrating details, but not worth it. Don't waste your money, they are 100% no refunds.
My wife and I took the sunset tour, and we loved the scenery, the horses, and the guide, Charlie. Our horses were Little Man and Hennessy. My wife said it was the best part of our trip, and that she was "living my best life". It was also so special when Charlie offered to drive us back to our Lake Las Vegas hotel when we couldn't get an Uber/Lyft to come pick us up. This obviously shouldn't be the expectation, but it was so nice of them to take care of us. We had great conversations with him and his father in law, and really enjoyed our time from beginning to end.
The serenity of the desert ride was worlds apart from the hustle and bustle of the strip. The silence was so relaxing and offered a great contrast on our trip. Charlie was our guide, he was expert and looked after us superbly well. Logistics worked out well and our Uber Driver even took us back to our hotel rather than the arranged drop off point. The dinner was tasty, although I would advise in managing expectations. It was a pre-packed meal rather than a live BBQ. But we were here for the horse riding and that delivered!
I was so happy when I found this experience as I wanted to surprise my husband as he loves horses and we were celebrating his birthday. We were also able to get all the family on a ride with the barbecue sunset dinner which was very cool. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the nature and gave some great insight into the desert landscape. The horses were lovely and we stayed to feed them and spend time with nature. Would highly recommend. All in all, we are very happy and it was a memorable birthday for my husband and my kids.
Wonderful guide and very knowledgeable about the area. I’m looking forward to doing it again soon family had a great time.
Very knowledgeable guide and well trained horses. I was nervous for the first time but when I got there I wasn't. Very easy and enjoyable for first timer city slickers.
Super fun . Guide Charlie was great. Horses were super chill and we had a nice relaxing ride with cool views and came back to a nice rib boxed dinner. Good communication from office as well eliminated any confusion. Thanks Linda
Very enjoyable ride beautiful scenery horses were friendly and easy to handle even for a first time rider the guide was wonderful and extremely well at her job very helpful would definitely do this again. Also the BBQ was outstanding. Thank you Sunset Horseback Riding Joe and Danielle Dembowski
They were fantastic, beautiful scenery and Charlie was the best!! The BBQ dinner was delicious. The horses were extremely well behaved.
Riding through the desert at night was so cool. What a wonderful experience ❤️. The horses were easy to ride.
We had a really good time. There were only 4 people in totality. Really intimate. The sunset was beautiful. Charlie was awesome with the the horses. My wife rode Butters (Butterscotch) and I rode Rodeo. I highly recommend this activity if you’re in the Vegas area.
Our guide, Grace was excellent!! She was very informative and professional. We had a great time and would highly recommend for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Tour operator was horrible at communicating from the start. The tour states to arrange transportation 24hours prior to booking, although I booked it within 10 hours of the tour starting. I was told I was on my own for transportation and hired a car service round trip (because cell service can be spotty in the mountains) *to the coordinates given on the tour in this app!* upon arrival to GPS 36.1853226,-114.9211512, there was no tour associated with this booking. After contacting support, the operator stated I was instead to meet elsewhere (so why have these coordinates in the directions?) and the blunder fell on me. Horrible and expensive experience for what was intended to be a proposal evening.
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She made us feel comfortable and even let us borrow a jacket because I was cold.
Riding the horse felt so relaxing . The weather was perfect and the food was great. Had trouble with understanding the arrival process while the was nothing there but a parking space. We had to contact the tour guide by text message only .
The guide was great, the trail was a wash also used by vehicles and the route was a horse shoe route that started and ended in the same place , more like a mule train pace , but great for 1st time riders. The bbq was not at all what we had imagined. Cold ribs packed hours before in styrofoam containers with a table set next to the horse trailer , you can imaging the the experience, that was cut rate. No hot bbq by a campfire 🔥
Superb experience staff/owners so helpful with timing issue we had but they worked with us . Charlie was great would recommend
The riding itself was really nice and Grace, our guide, was friendly and talkative. But the BBQ dinner was not at all what we expected. We thought that there would be ready tables and a hot meal. In stead we were asked if we wanted to eat at the site, in which case the guide would bring a table at the parking space, or if we wanted the food to go! We chose to go because the parking space didn't look very inviting. So we were presented with a small cold meal in styrofoam that had been sitting in a truck for several hours. Needless to say, we didn't eat the meat or the beans due to inproper handling. If you book this tour, do the cheaper one without the dinner!
Our tour guide was great, thank you. Is there any chance that we could get one or two of the pictures that she took of us as a group? thank you, Alison
Very relaxing and the lady tamed the horse so well the bbq was great I will love to do this again and again and again
This was such a great tour. Had no issues with transportation to the site. Our driver was very nice and picked us up at our hotel. The guide was really good cowboy that took pictures of us on the horses. Our horses ceasar and beauty were so pretty and looked very healthy. We ride all over the country but this was one of our favorite places. We will be back again when we come to vegas. Glad our dinner was served in a to go box as the portions are really big we had to take half to the hotel.
We booked the BBQ sunset ride in advance as part of our 10th anniversary trip in Las Vegas . We hoped this would be an amazing experience and were excited to go. We didn't realize we were going to love it there! We will cherish the memories from this ride for years. The staff are all very helpful and the horses are very well cared. Safe for all riders. The trail goes into the hills and the views at sunset are just breathtaking. We had dinner by lantern light which was romantic and food was so delicious.
The good things first. We were lucky to have good weather, and it was very peaceful riding through the mountains. Now the rest!! The guide only told you the basics, and I mean basics we had to ask her name. She spent the time on her phone during the ride, stopping twice to take photos of us on her phone , and subsequently received an email saying 20 dollars if we want the photos. After the ride, when we got back to the trailer, we were asked if we wanted tea or water followed by the BBQ Dinner!! Not!! We were given 4 polystyrene takeaway containers with barely warm food, which consisted of fatty ribs, overcooked corn on cob, mini muffin, tiny blueberry pie and a small tub of bbq beans all in the comfort of the public carpark. The food was a rip-off and certainly not a bbq. Finally, I am not a horse expert, but the horse's needed a good groom, their eyes cleaned, and we were not convinced about how well they were looked after. We would not recommend this. We left feeling hungry and what's more sad for the horses
The guide was very knowledgeable and took great care of us. I did the sunset ride with dinner and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. My horse was little man and was paired with me perfectly. The food was great! I will be doing this again the next time I come to Las Vegas. This was worth every penny! Thank you again for the best experience I have had in Las Vegas!
Sunset horses well behaved would definitely do it again guide brung water for us and done a little bit of history
We were pretty excited about booking this, and it lived up to its expectations. We were a little concerned after we did the booking that we didn't have a specific "address" to meet the host at to start the ride. We had a bit of back and forth texts about various things, and we kept asking for an "address". What we got was coordinates, which concerned us. It shouldn't have, as when we put the coordinates into Uber (and maps) it gave a specific location of the Uber driver to take us. We were met by Charlie, right on time. He then set us up, saddling horses, doing the paperwork, getting water etc. We then rode off (literally) into the sunset. We rode for the solid hour as advertised, in the beautiful hills. It was a fairly sedentary ride, which was good given that 3 of us hadn't been on horses before the and other 2 minimal. The horses were very well mannered and it was a pleasure spending the time with them. After the ride we had a basic bbq dinner, with ribs, corn bread, beans and a blueberry pie. My notes to anyone looking to do this ride are: 1. make sure you arrange your transport and get there on time (or slightly early). 2. Don't freak out about the coordinates, they work in Uber/Lyft etc. 3. Enjoy the experience and don't read too much into anything else.
Our family had a great time. Horses were so nice and safe. It was not hot ( we did mountain ride). Made this perfect to you in summer in Las Vegas.
It was great experience !! I’m Highly recommended the ride instructor Charlie it’s awesome !! Lovely sunset day !
We got there early so we were able to really enjoy the horses and get to know them. The guide was very informative and friendly. The view while riding was gorgeous. Horses are very trained and follow the trail with little to no guidance from the rider. Very relaxing! The BBQ dinner was also delicious. It comes in a to go container which was perfect. We were able to take it back to our room to enjoy it.
Paid a lot of money to ride in a trashy area of the dessert. Guide was on her phone texting instead of visiting. Rode about 1/4 mile on one side of the road and then back on the other side. Supper was served cold in a styrofoam container with a warm can of pop. I don’t usually write bad reviews but this was a joke! Hard to contact for address and time changed last minute etc. wish we would if cancelled!
My daughter and granddaughter had a wonderful bonding experience while riding horses for the first time. A special thanks to our wonderful guide Grace, and our beautiful horses, Trigger, Rodeo, and Spot. Thanks to all of you. Also a special thank you to the cowboy who helped my granddaughter down from her horse Spot. He asked her how was her ride, and then complimented her and told her she was a natural and a cowgirl! Thank you for that! BBQ was great too! Overall great experience! Thank you.
The sunset ride was beautiful. The staff is amazing and friendly. I recommend it 100%! The horses were so much fun to be around. Well trained and very unique.
