Hoover Dam To Willow Beach Guided Full Day Tour

Andrew at Blazin Paddles made our kayaking trip fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a great time on the water. His guidance was spot-on — when he suggested going tandem, we took his advice and were glad we did, since the headwinds picked up and having two paddlers made a huge difference. A few tips for anyone booking a trip here: listen to your guide’s recommendations, especially on tandem vs. solo — the wind can be a real factor. Wear water shoes with a good grip sole — you’ll need them not just in the kayak, but on the short hike to the natural hot springs too. And don’t forget sunscreen and a hat — there’s not much shade out on the water. Thanks, Andrew, for a great experience!

It takes a particularly fantastic or abysmal experience for me to spend the time writing a review, and Blazin' Paddles was extraordinarily good. From the pick up on the Strip to the excursion itself to the dropoff, we were well taken care of. I'm sure the rest of the reviews give you a good sense of the kayaking experience, but to me, it was the customer service and care by Andrew and Jamaika (spelling?) that stood out. My wife and I have never kayaked. They made us feel welcome and comfortable and answered all of our questions without being condescending or vague. There were a few people in our group that were really struggling (shockingly not us, but we had a tandem!) and Andrew was so affirming and encouraging that even though we were over 2 hours late to get to our destination, he never made anyone feel "bad" for holding up the group (and honestly, we had a blast so the extra couple hours was were wonderful). I would say from a beginner to seasoned kayakers, this outing and the people who run it deserve 6 starts out of 5.

Had a full trip with the boys 6-23 and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The scenery they take you on is a once in a lifetime. The guide service/friendliness of Andrew and his son Roman was also awesome they are the bomb and it wouldn't have been the same without them! Definitely gotta have a killer mustache to be my guide for now on because the standards have now been set extremely high. Thanks Andrew and Roman for the amazing experience of you see this and holy cow the colorado river is gorgeous!

Did the 12 Mile full day tour with Andrew and Roman. The pickup and drop off was a huge benefit. Launching from the Dam was a cool sight to see. The breakdown of stops and lunch and their knowledge of the history made the trip well worth it. Highly recommend these guys. Had a great time.

Blazing Paddles kayak tour with Chris was an outstanding experience from start to finish. There’s only one bad thing I can say about this trip. I wish it was longer! What an amazing experience from the time our guide, Chelsea picked us up at the hotel to the moment we got back. Definitely recommend the full day tour. She explained everything on the ride to the Lodge and what to expect throughout the day. She also showed us some really cool hot springs and sauna cavern along the river. Be sure to request the most kind hearted, knowledgeable, and cool chick on the Colorado River, Chelsea! 🤙

What started as our trip with Blazin kayak trip turned into much more! Our tour guide Chelsey was much more that just a tour guide. she quickly did a crash course in remembering all of our names! She ensured we were safe, happy and comfortable at all times. We were all impressed with her knowledge of anything and everything regarding the Hoover Damn. She was also articulate and explained what everythinf was that we encountered. She made sure we stayed hydrated and had the best snacks! Thank you once again to Blazin for all the memories!

WOW!!! Absolutely an amazing time but what made it even more amazing was our guide, Chelsea (aka Coach Chelsea). Her energy and passion made this all day trip worth every penny and time well spent. From check in to drop off...PERFECTION! If you ask my 8 year old what was the best part of the trip, she will tell you "Coach" Chelsea. Yup! My 8 year survived and enjoyed the 12 mile trip. What a day!! We booked online the night before and weren’t even sure we’d be able to get in, but then we called Jamaika — she was absolutely delightful. She quickly helped secure our permits, called me right back to confirm everything, and honestly made our day before the tour even started. My friend and I ended up having what felt like a mostly private tour, which made the experience even more special. Andrew was an incredible guide — so knowledgeable, easygoing, and genuinely passionate about the area. He took us to the most beautiful spots, and every stop somehow felt more magical than the last. We accidentally booked for a Monday, which turned out to be the best surprise because there were no boats out on the water (yay!). Everything felt so peaceful and quiet, and we even had the hot springs completely to ourselves. It was one of those rare days that just felt calm from beginning to end. Such a great company, wonderful people, and we loved having little Penelope along too — she was the sweetest and such a fun addition to the adventure.

When I tell you this was the BEST thing we did on our girls trip was book this! Jamaica was SO welcoming and helpful, if you’re even on the edge of booking seriously do it!

I went on the full day tour with Chelsea and had an AMAZING experience. She was so knowledgeable and friendly and made the tour so much fun. She even took us to her "secret"/lesser known spots to get great photo ops and unique experiences. Getting to experience the history of the Hoover Dam alongside gorgeous water and views was truly the highlight of my trip to Nevada. This tour is a must to cross off your bucket list!

Since I did the standard kayak excursion to Emerald Cove a few years ago, I had been meaning to do a longer paddle in the Black Canyon starting at Hoover Dam, and this excursion exceeded my expectations. A big part of this is thanks to Salah, who was a stand up guide. While I didn't come close to capsizing, I felt confident in her ability to come to my rescue if something like that had occurred. I had expected the experience to be rough given the weather, but it turned out to be manageable, and the lack of big crowds was a bonus. Kia ora!

The full day paddle tour was an amazing experience! The river is beautiful and the hot springs/hikes are a really unique experience! Our guide, Andrew was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and fun! His daughter, Penelope, was a great assistant guide! From booking to paddling , the experience was seamless and professional. I can’t begin to describe how amazing this trio was, and the highlight was our guide Chelsea! She was funny, knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging! Within minutes of starting the adventure she quickly felt more like one of our group than a hired guide. She licked us up at 5:40am and came bursting out of the van filled with energy and excitement! I had no idea we would be exploring the area we did or learning so much about the history of the Dam and area and the flora and fauna. Chelsea was a breath of fresh air, I have been on guided tours before with a so so experienced, but not this one. Book it! You won’t be disappointed

We booked the full day kayak tour starting at the Hoover Dam. This tour exceeded our expectations! Jamaica was our guide and she made great connections with everyone individually and took time to make the experience lovely for everyone. I would highly recommend the full day tour. The 1st 10 miles were so quiet and serene. An experience we will never forget.

We had the best day on the Colorado River with Jeff! He took us to the coolest spots! We did the full day tour. Starting at the bottom of the Hoover damn was special in itself. But then we went to several different hot springs you could never do all in one day if you were trying to hike down to them. The views from the river were beyond beautiful. It was awesome to experience the river from a kayak. You could really take it all in. We saw lots of wildlife, such as bighorn sheep, birds, and fish. Jeff made sure we were comfortable all throughout the day. He had plenty of snacks and water. The paddle was harder than I expected because there is very little current, but we all did it and felt very accomplished that we were able to paddle 12 miles. I definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for adventure!

I spent a month online trying to figure out who to book with! But, in retrospect, I'm glad! For some reason, I didn't come across Blazin' Paddles' website until the end! We did the full-day kayak tour with them starting at the base of Hoover Dam. They had it all! A great price. A classy storefront (which the other guys do not have). Quick Check-in. Nice equipment. Nice van. Good driver. We got lots of kayak tips and instruction from the staff. And our tour guide Jeff was AWESOME. He was clearly focused on our safety and our enjoyment all day. Totally relatable and interesting guy, yet 100% professional at the same time. He's a local who is very knowledgeable about the river and the canyon. I can't say enough about how happy I am we booked with Blazin' Paddles and the experience we had. They were top notch in every category. I don't have to waste a single second looking anywhere else for future tours. They are THE tour company for the Colorado river. 100%.

Girls trip kayaking from Hoover Damn to Willow Beach. Nichole was amazing answering our questions before we asked. Giving us the details and what to expect. The timeline hints helped us to know when and where we should be at certain times. Very efficient and had us on the water quickly. Beautiful kayaking! Had an amazing kayak trip with Blazin’ Paddles! We did the full day trip which was totally worth it. An early start but so convenient having the team pick you up from the strip and drop you back off. Launching from the base of the Hoover dam was epic! We had perfect weather with it being a little cooler. The hot springs felt so good and was unlike anything we’ve experienced. Andrew was an awesome guide. He kept us on track without making things feel rushed. Made sure everyone had a great time and was easy to talk to. Have recommended this tour to everyone who’d listen since I got home. lol Hot tip! If you have a national park pass you can get part of the fee refunded.

Blazin Paddles has a full day 12 mile kayaking trip starting at Hoover Dam that is amazing! It began with a comfy van pick up from Aria on the strip. Jamaika was great at helping us get the trip planned letting us know about the weather and asking a preference on our pick up & lunch options. We could not have had a better guide than Jeff, he was not only kind and considerate he was so very knowledgeable of every aspect of the adventure. He went at our pace yet we arrived on time. We had so many questions and he knew the history and answers to anything we had asked about the canyon the hot springs and the River (or is it a lake) lol. We had no idea how amazing this trip would be, this was a bucket list trip that we didn’t even know should be on our bucket list. Then at the end of the trip Chelsea was scheduled to take us back to our hotels. Not only was she a chauffeur but she slowed down to let us take pictures of the Hoover dam and asked if everyone had time to see something special & we stopped by a park and saw probly 20 Bighorn sheep that we were able to get so close to and take pictures that were absolutely beautiful with Lake Meade as the backdrop. If you are wondering if you can do this 12 mile trip let me tell you my husband & I are in our late 50s & we’ve kayaked a hand full of times in our lives and are not people that exercise on the regular, while our arms were a little sore the next day lol, we would do it all over again and again. If you choose to do this trip you must choose Blazin Paddles from quality people to quality kayaks, unbelievable views and a great lunch, this is a trip you will remember for the rest of your life. We absolutely loved our full day trip. Andrew was our guide, and he was the best! I was expecting just some kayaking down the river, but the guided stops to hot springs, sauna tunnels and caves were such a treat. It’s the perfect adventure if you’re in Vegas looking for a break from the craziness of the strip. The transfers to and from the hotel were super easy. Everything was 10/10, five stars, no notes.

Do yourself a favor and take the Hoover Dam 12 mi kayak tour with Andrew. You’ll watch the sunrise and have a wonderful day. There’s $2 beer at the end.

5 stars with Jeffrey! He was very knowledgeable and a super guide! We went out on a FULL DAY tour even though the wind was a factor. He shared so much history and was so patient and amazing! We had him to ourselves (3). We had a fantastic day and HIGHLY recommend him and also Jamaica, an excellent lady as well! 👏👏 Full tour is the way to go-way better than a half tour!!!! Thank you!!!!!

Our full day Black Canyon tour was nothing short of AMAZING! The hot springs in the first 3 miles were lovely to stop at, especially on an early cool morning start. Our guide, Jeff, was very knowledgeable and had many stories to tell during the 12 mile paddle. I’ve paddled before, but don’t do it regularly and never for that long, but the pace was good and there were many stops along the way. Don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed! BEAUTIFUL!
