The small group tour offered a nicely personalized experience. Our driver Clayton was fun and knowledgable, he offered interesting insights throughout the tour. The itinerary was flexible and was slightly modified as the day went on, considering everyone's interests.

Itinerary
Your full-day guided Grand Canyon West and Hoover Dam VIP experience begins with a 8:00 am pickup by air-conditioned luxury SUV or Mercedes Mini coach from your Las Vegas hotel for the drive to your first stop, the incredible Hoover Dam. This tour offers a wonderful extended tour of the exterior of Hoover Dam as well as the new Hoover Dam bridge a breathtaking 900 feet above the Colorado River.
When it was completed in 1936 Hoover Dam was the highest structure of its kind in the world. Your small-group tour includes an extended exterior tour of the Dam (where you'll walk across the top of the Dam from Nevada into Arizona) as well as the amazing Hoover Dam Bridge 900 feet above the Colorado River with ample time for photo opportunities from the top of the dam, and Lake Mead, North America's largest man-made lake with 550 miles of shoreline. In addition, stop at a local park where herds of bighorn sheep often come down (seasonal) from the surrounding mountains to gather and graze on the sweet grass.
Next, your day trip continues with the drive across the beautiful high desert of Arizona, where you'll visit the incredible 900-year-old Joshua tree forest, a 250 square mile stand of the most abundant and lush Joshua Tress in America. In addition, you'll tour the fabulous Diamond Bar Road, 14 miles of sweeping canyon views topped only by the Grand Canyon itself.
You'll have three hours to explore the most beautiful natural locations on the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. As you break out of Diamond Bar Rd Canyon you'll be consumed by the awesome views and colors of the Grand Canyon. It's like entering a beautiful fantasy world. Enjoy a romantic lunch at the rim of the Canyon, and you'll have lots of time to visit and explore the magnificent Eagle & Guano Points and take a walk on the amazing Skywalk, a glass bottom bridge, if you dare (optional).
Experience the canyon's stunning vastness and quiet tranquility as you watch the Colorado River wind through the rugged red walls below.

Always wanted to see the marvel of the Hoover Dam and Clayton our guide was the best we could have hoped for. With his local knowledge and full understanding we now know the correct reason for the Dam construction. Grand Canyon helicopter ride was unbelievable and more than expected. Very very hot on the day but would not have missed all the pat of the Grand Canyon - Echo Point and Guano Point and the Skywalk over the Grand Canyon.
We were already at the pickup point when David (our guide) arrived. We acknowledged his arrival by wishing him a very good morning and walked towards the transport when by David completely ignored us and continued passed us presumable looking for us. When eventually came back to the van we said was he looking for us. After confirming names, he yes, he was but he was looking for a male and female and not too males! We didn’t comment and just boarded the mini bus. On our way to collect the next guests David said” as we are picking up some other people who are couples would one of us like to sit in the front of the vehicle with him”? We were furious to say the least. David immediately assumed that as we were both males, we were just friend’s but we are also a couple as we robustly stated that to David. No apology just “Oh well…we’ll have to sort something out!” As for the stop off see the old main street of Boulder City and see historical buildings and markers. We didn’t see any of that we got out of the vehicle for 5 minutes and seen the big horn sheep and that was all! This was supposed to be a VIP trip but after squeezing 3 couples in the back of the vehicle it did not feel VIP to us. And then to add insult to injury just before my partner and I were due to be dropped back off at our hotel the office called to speak to David. The previous couple had left something in the vehicle but didn’t know what! After spending sometime looking for it we found a plastic cup. The office essentially demanded that he took the cup straight back and then drop us off after. So, we had to go all the way back to their hotel before we could then be taken back to our hotel. We were very annoyed at this point and again, this did not make us feel like VIPs at all. All in all, a very poor experience for what we thought was going to be a VIP trip to the Hoover Dam. There was no way this was a VIP trip. I found David to be extremely homophobic and, in this day and age, that is a very negative attitude and totally unacceptable behaviour. I would not recommend this trip to anyone. Look elsewhere.
Fabulous day which d Grand Canyon West Rim & Hoover Dam - both awesome experiences with a very knowledgeable guide that made the day even more memorable
Great trip, Earl was our driver, he was very educated with lots of information to share with us! Small group which was very nice!
We went on Grand Canyon tour. It was amazing and beautiful. Our driver Mr. Michael was the best tour guide we ever had. He explained everything in detail we had fun. I recommend this to everyone enjoy the beautiful scenery.
My wife and I took the Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Combo Tour a couple of weeks ago. Below are my comments regarding the company and the Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Combo Tour itself. Regarding the company, I spoke with Patsy on multiple occasions. She was always extremely nice and willing to answer any question. The name of the company is Adventure Photo Tours. During our tour, no emphasis was placed on either adventure or photography. For most stops, our tour guide dropped us off in a parking lot and told us when to be back at the van. The problem is that on most of the stops, he disappeared after dropping us off. Some of us wandered around the parking lot, looking for a van that wasn't there. The instructions on what we were to do during the stops were always confusing. It was obvious that our tour guide, Christian, was just going through the motions of being a guide. He didn't seem to care anything about doing a good job. For example, one time he announced "On your left (or right) is Lake Meade. It is a man-made lake." Painstaking details. At a point, before we started home, he stopped his commentary alltogether. His directions as to what we could do during a stop and when we needed to be back to the bus were very confusing. Here are some comparisons with what the website states vs. what we received. "You have a full hour at Hoover Dam." You can opt to take the tour of the inside of Hoover Dam which takes 45 minutes. The tour costs $15 per person. I'm not sure what is so "VIP" about the exterior of Hoover Dam as we took the inside tour. If you take the inside tour, you'll have very little time for taking pictures of the dam itself. "Three hours to explore the west Rim of the Canyon." This three hours included lunch. The West Rim is just a small part of the Grand Canyon. If you really want to see the Grand Canyon, go to a different location. "Operates Daily at approximately 7:00 AM." That's what they say. When we took this tour, we were picked up at 6:15 AM. They do contact you the day before to let you know what time your pick up will be. "Return time: Approximately 5:30 PM." This may be true, depending on when they drop you off. "Pick-up at hotel." True. "The incredible 900-year-old Joshua tree forest." This "incredible" stop lasted about 15 minutes. "Eagle Point, home to the “Eagle in the Rock” and the world famous Skywalk ($25.00 paid directly to Hualapai)." This is part of the Grand Canyon West/lunch stop. Again, Christian gave us misinformation regarding where to go if we wanted to do the Skywalk. The people who worked there weren't very nice. I don't know why the website stated that the Skywalk cost $25. They wanted to charge us $40 per person. We finally asked for a senior discount and paid $22.50 each. The Skywalk is nothing but a money grab (check out reviews for the Skywalk). They charge to get onto the skywalk. You cannot take any personal belongings with you which means no cameras. They want to do the picture taking for you. Pictures cost $25 for one or $50 for a set of 13. You spend most of your time standing in line to get tickets or to get onto the Skywalk itself. There are so many employees with cameras taking people's pictures, it leaves little room for people who want to see anything. The people who work here were not nice. "Guano Point with stunning East and North Canyon views." I have no idea what this is. If we went there, I'm not aware of it. Again, our tour guide was missing during the Grand Canyon West stop. "Romantic lunch at the Rim." I guess this depends on your idea of a romantic lunch. There are lots of picnic tables just outside the building where they serve food. There are more people than the picnic tables can accomodate. My wife and I wound up sharing one picnic table with two other couples. It was nowhere near the rim. Maybe this is your idea of a romantic lunch. "Native American Dwellings & lots of time to shop." This is part of the Grand Canyon West stop. I remember seeing a very fake tee-pee outside the building where food was served. That's about it. "As a bonus we tour the Historical Old Town of Boulder City, and stop at a local park where herds of Big Horn Sheep often come down from the surrounding mountains to gather and graze on the sweet grass." This is untrue. We never went to Boulder City. We paid $346 a piece for this tour. It could have been good, but it wasn't. Adventure Photo Tours, please do not respond to my review with "Contact me directly next time you are in Las Vegas and I'll do something special for you." I don't plan on going back to Las Vegas or taking another tour with Adventure Photo Tours.
Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam were spectacular!!! The driver was not acquainted with proper passenger etiquette. If passengers do not want to get out of the van at a particular stop, they should NOT be coerced.
My three adult children and myself chose to do a private tour out to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. From the very first contact with Patsy and Donna from Adventure Photo Tours everything went so smooth! What a great team you have with your booking staff and your guides! On our day of the tour right from the pick up point at our hotel we knew that our tour was off to a great start. Clayton our tour guide greeted us with a huge smile and welcoming persona. Breakfast bars, fruit juice were offered to start our day along with water and snacks for the entire day. There was not one part of the tour that any of us could complain about. The stops along the way, the absolutely spectacular Grand Canyon, the lunch choices and the beautiful lunch we chose which was at Hualapai Point, Hoover Dam with a great tour of the underground mechanics of the dam, then on to see the delightful mountain goats in Boulder City - the whole day was just amazing! Clayton was so knowledgable, polite and caring he made us laugh so much and was an absolute joy to spend a long day with! Absolutely one of the best days my children and I have had! Thank you so so much Clayton for being part of our USA experience you are a credit to your wonderful team at Adventure Photo Tours! Best wishes to you all Julie and family x
The following is my experience of having the misfortune of booking with Will and Donna Tryon owners of Adventure Photo Tours. Our driver/guide Christian was amazing. I recently had an appalling experience on one of their tours. This company claimed to offer ‘luxury transport’, but the reality couldn't be further from the truth. Their disregard for customer health and safety is truly shocking. We were in a minibus for a gruelling 5.5-hour journey to the Grand Canyon in unbearable 47-degree heat. The vehicle had no working air conditioning, despite their advertisement boasting ‘luxury transportation’. This led to severe discomfort for everyone on board; my wife suffered from heatstroke and was physically sick and I also felt very unwell, It's outrageous that they would subject customers to such conditions without any concern. Despite reaching out to the company multiple times via email, we received one non helpful response and then we were ignored. This isn't just a one-off occurrence—reviews (June 2024 headed ‘Terrible. Read my Description’- 1 Star review) reveal that they have a history of ignoring customer complaints and providing substandard transport, clearly they knew about the air conditioning issue some 5 weeks before subjecting us to heat stroke. Will and Donna Tryon seem more interested in offering lip service rather than actually ensuring the well-being of their clients. The phrase “something special” is a phrase they commonly use to respond. The fact that Will and Donna Tryon think anyone would rebook seems rather arrogant! While the owners might reply with what sounds like a well-crafted response, don't be fooled. Their actions speak louder than their words—they simply don't care. If you value your safety, wellbeing, comfort, and overall experience, I strongly recommend you choose a different operator. Adventure Photo Tours is not worth the risk. Avoid at all costs. It is worth noting no other transport we used during our 9 days in Las Vegas had air conditioning problems, therefore they did not have to try to convince us the cause of the problem was a heatwave, lame! If you have had a similar horrible experience and booked via Get Your Guide, contact them as they are a professional company who actually listen, care and communicate! In your response to this review Will and Donna Tryon, please clarify your description of ‘luxury transport’ and enquire if my wife is well and why you have removed the word luxury from your subsequent adverts. Please also explain why you ignore customer emails but not reviews? Shame on you Will and Donna Tryon!
I booked the Grand Canyon and Hoover damn tour thru you guys for Friday June 14. We were picked up promptly at 6:45 at Paris hotel by Michael our guide. First off Michael did a great job all day. Could have had one or two less nature stops but that feeling was more than likely brought on by the main issue I’m about to discuss. As we left Vegas in the morning we noticed the air conditioner wasn’t feeling proper. Me and my group set in the back two rows in the sprinter 14 passenger van except for my friend Tim he set up front with Michael. Well as the morning went on we got hot in the back. No air flow and not much cooling at all. Keep in mind this was early. As the day went on we started sweating and had virtually no cooling in the background we were beading sweat down the seats and ourselves. It was literally like a sauna in the back. We notified Michael and he was doing all he could do. Air was on high and everything. Us and a group from England were miserable the entire day. Me and my folks from my group are not ones to complain about anything but this was just unacceptable. There was no air flow or anything for the back half of the van. It got to the point that nobody wanted to continue they just wanted to get back to hotel. It was cooler outside than in the van. It was literally like a sauna in the back rows. If we had been a hair closer to Vegas we would have discontinued the tour and took a Uber or something back. Our friend Tim was actually sweating in the front also as the day went on. Just as a gauge of the severity of this. My wife grabbed a shower at the room when we got back and was unable to go to dinner because of exhaustion. I would have expected alittle refund for my trip. I never asked for that but would have expected of them to offer some refunds. The trip basically was ruined. So go with another company next time they would have made the trip right after the fact when something like this happened with some form of refund They told me in a email the cabin air filters were clogged after the fact . That’s not true i am a mechanic by trade and the air was blowing perfect. The ac itself had issues.
We took the tour bus with Grayline. The driver Dwayne was amazing. He knew the history and was an amazing experienced driver. He came out of retirement to drive us to our destinations. We had a great time! This Dwayne for your passion and the care you took with us as your passagers.
This was my first time to the Grand Canyon. Our guide, Michael, was informative. He was friendly, a great communicator, and use good humor to make the experience very enjoyable.
The minibus that we were picked up on was fine, nothing fancy. After all parties were picked up, we received a sack breakfast with a hostess breakfast muffin/roll/minimuffins, string cheese and bag of peanuts. The ride to the canyon was uneventful, stopping once to use the restrooms. When we arrived at the canyon is where things took a turn. Unfortunately, instead of being able to use the minibus we drove in, the park apparently did not have any more "passes" meaning we had to wait in line and all cram into the buses that the park provides (standing room only). Once we arrived at the first lookout, we were immediately ushered inside to stand in line for lunch ("since the lines get long later"). Not sure where the picnic lunch that was advertised was, but that would have been a better option to avoid the lines (our guide had left with a couple that were going on a helicopter ride before lunch was over so those of us that were left had to leave the tip). We had wanted to go out on the skywalk, but time did not permit as we needed to stand in line waiting for the bus to take us to the second lookout point. We had a short time at the second lookout point before we again had to wait in line to be taken back to the gift shop where our bus was parked. Very little time actually getting to enjoy the scenery. The stop at the Hoover Dam was fine. We did get to make a stop at a scenic overlook for pictures, then walked over the dam. There was one more stop where those that wanted could take pictures from the tall bridge as well. We really wanted to love this trip. We paid more for the opportunity to get more time and avoid the lines but unfortunately that was not what was provided. The tour company made no apologies or tried to make it right either.
It was all great and worthwhile to see! Spectacular and interesting views. An easy must-do trip from Las Vegas.
Brilliant trip, breakfast and lunch provided, helicopter tour down into the canyon itself and great tour of the Hoover dam. Unbelievable knowledge from our driver and tour guide Kirk…..the guy had 10,000 facts about vegas and the whole of Nevada. Highly recommend.
What a great experience! Art was so knowledgeable about every part of our day long tour to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. We learned so much, and the van was extremely comfortable. Everything was on time, well coordinated and, most importantly, fun! I'd highly recommend Adventure Photo Tours!
Kirk was a great travel guide. He was very courteous and informative!! Our day started out with him giving us bags with treats, juice, and water. We had an adequate amount of stops, throughout the day, for breaks. Now, about the tour. Our tour of the Grand Canyon was lots of fun and beautiful!! The helicopter ride we had was breathtaking. It was nice that Kirk asked, on the way there, if anyone was vegetarian. I am, so we ate lunch at the one of the two restaurants that had several vegetarian options. Throughout the day, he posed us at several sights, and didn't mind taking our pictures, using our own cameras as well as our own Cellphones. I am really glad Adventure Photo Tours were not crumb bums and insisted the only way to have them help you with your own pictures was to take them themselves and charge you for them. After awhile, we went through and stopped at Hoover Dam. I had no idea of the enormity of this venture before he told us of its history and the fact this was all made with manual labor, no computers, and finished well before it was slated to be completed, not to mention that it goes the length of many, many states!! Boy! Do I recommend this tour? You bet I do!!
Highly recommend this tour, was absolutely breath taking. Thank you so much Clayton for being a wonderful guide!
We had such a great trip with just 2 couples picked up from our hotel in a lovely minibus. Michael was a great enthusiastic tour guide who was well read in nature and geology and canyon and Dam facts! He kept a well stocked bus with plenty of water and snacks. So accommodating to make the trip as great as possible and bespoke to our wishes. Amazing view points of the canyon, of the Hoover Dam and a little trip into the Joshua Tree reserves. Helicopter ride was brilliant and the best way to see the Grand Canyon. Plenty of rest stops and lunch venue at the Sky Walk was great - lovely food. Well worth the money and a whole day trip
This trip was amazing. Our tour guide was the best . He took such good care of us . The Grand Canyon was amazing. It was a nice small group , the Van was brand new and very comfortable. The tour guide feed us all day long . We have lunch and snack . There was enough time to stop and get snacks from gas station and use restroom. I can’t say enough about this tour. Highly recommend it .
We had a fun day with Art soaking up all there was to see on our day trip out of Las Vegas. Art is a very knowledgable guide and we felt in good hands all day. The helicopter trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon was really special. I am glad we did it. Art knows the itinerary like the back of his hand, so worked hard to help us avoid too many crowds. That being the case though, it meant we had lunch at about 11am and sometimes we felt a bit rushed to beat the buses to the next stop. This truly was a day we will never forget. It was such a thrill to see so many iconic images up close and in person. We had a great day.
Kirk our driver and narrator of all things Las Vegas was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and hospitable throughout the entire tour!
It was an amazing tour. Our Tour guide Kirk was very knowledgeable and cordial. The punctuality and the order of the tourist spot was great! Definitely 5 star.
This tour was great from start to finish. The driver narrated our way through the day with interesting facts. The van was clean and well air conditioned. We were amazed that the Canyon looked different from this view point. Hoover Dam was simply jaw dropping like the Canyon. We were never rushed and took many pictures.
Clayton's infectious laugh. He ensured everyone got to see what they wanted to. He was very knowledgeable. Really liked Hoover Dam and the last stop Grand Canyon (Guano). Was uneasy going out on the rocks but with a little encouragement from Clayton we all overcame our fears and saw the most beautiful views.
Jaime was great. It made everything so wonderful. She love showing and sharing the trip with us. The drive was smooth and I felt so safe. Of course, the Cayon and Dam were great too.
Great day trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam! Weather wasn’t the greatest but the tour guide was wonderful!
This was a perfect way to see the Grand Canyon, with a helicopter ride to the bottom making the trip complete. Our guide Clayton was superb, very knowledgeable and host. Nothing was to much trouble. Lord Colin Bickley
Smooth ride. Art was prompt and knew a lot of history! More than enough stops to keep you busy all day. Enjoyed it!
Great commentary, great views. Would recommend to anyone wanted to see the sights in and around Vegas.
This tour was great , although we only stopped at Hoover dam for like 5 mins .. just beware that Hoover dam is only a “stop”… several hours were spent at Grand Canyon, which is ok but perhaps they could shave off an hour or so there and add time to dam..
The whole tour was the most memorable so breathtaking! A fantastic day made more so by our excellent guide Eli who was so knowledgeable, considerate, friendly and efficient.
My family did the Western Rim of the Grand Canyon/Skywalk/Hoover Dam tour yesterday with Art. Art was polite, kind, and knew his stuff!! He gave us amazing information about everything on the trip: the Canyon, the Joshua Tree Forest, the Hoover Dam and other stops along the way. You can tell that he genuinely loves being a tour guide and answered any questions we had. He kept us hydrated, gave us snacks, and looked after us all day. We truly enjoyed our day with Art and are so happy we got to experience the tour with a knowledgeable guide.
It was a very hot day but our driver/guide made sure we were well hydrated and still saw all the main points.. he was quite entertaining and informative!!
My son and I did a private tour. We had Clayton, he was perfect! Funny, informative. Perfect day!!!!
This was amazing time our tour guide made our experience 10 times better. Thanks Konoa you really made our trip!!!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful time on this tour. Konoa was a delightful and knowledgeable guide. You can tell he enjoys his job! We loved hearing the facts he shared on our journey and he kept us laughing with his jokes. The Grand Canyon is incredible! The food at the Sky Restaurant was tasty! Our helicopter ride into the canyon was exciting! And we were all impressed with Konoa showing us antigravitational water! Highly recommend this tour!
Paul B. Had a great time with Konoa. It was great to be with someone who enjoys their job as much as Konoa does. He is very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I’m just happy we did this tour on the last day of our vacation, or everything else we did would have been disappointing.
An absolutely must do - very experienced tour guide (Art) who allowed ample time to take in the breathtaking views across the Canyon and Hoover Dam, finishing with the tour of the historic city of Boulder City. Great value for money, and well organised with no waiting around for others.
I have been taking tours out of Las Vegas since 1981 and recently went on the Grand Canyon West RIM Tour which had been my best Tour and Tour Guide Konoa. He went above and beyond, I learned so many fascinating things and his narration was both humorous and informative. He had a diverse age group of people on Tour and appealed to everyone. He loved being a Tour Guide and it showed...
Traveled yesterday and Konoa was our tour guide and very knowledgeable, sharing facts and tips the whole day. Bonus was his great Dad jokes!
A Heart-warming Affirmation, of the can-do American Spirit inside us all. What footprint will you leave in the sands of history? What will you say you did in your brief time, right here in Las Vegas? Our Tour Guide KONOA remained true to his values, loyal to his guests, devoted to his word, and fulfills expectations to highest degree. Your best experience at the Grand Canyon West awaits. I can promise you that.
The Grand Canyon was simply breathtaking. Hoover dam is quite a wonder. Our guide was very informative, friendly and hospitable
Seeing the Grand Canyon and learning about various sights during the tour from our guide Konoa. He is an excellent tour guide who has a vast amount of experience and knowledge of the tour. I would highly recommend anyone to go on this tour. He was professional and funny. Enjoyable experience for my son and I!
I didn’t know what to expect being my first tour but I was extremely satisfied. We were lucky enough to get Marcus as our driver and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The tour was excellent and they allowed plenty of time at each stop. I would 100% recommend them and would definitely take another tour from them
Myself and my girlfriend were lucky enough to get Konoa as our tour guide. Not only was the trip amazing but konoa fulfilled his role as your guide. His knowledge of everything and how fun he made the tour was just incredible. He has such passion for his job and couldn’t of asked for a better tour or tour guide.
Wonderful experience! Great day trip, travel was comfortable and safe. Our guide/driver (Konoa) was prompt, courteous, informative, shared his 37 years of experience offering many tips and recommendations. Would highly recommend and will book again for other adventures upon return.
The Grand Canyon was beautiful and the guide, Konica, was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a fun trip.
Absolutely amazing. Firstly, Art , you are a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who made the day so interesting and taught us so much about the history of Nevada, Hoover Dam and the native people of the Grand Canyon. He was professional and friendly. The tour was amazing. Seeing the Grand Canyon was top of my bucket list, being from the UK and we added the helicopter tour. Please, please if you can, spend a bit extra and do the helicopter ride. It was the most incredible way to experience the Canyon, and you get to land at the bottom and spend 20 mins exploring the area. I haven't stopped smoking since, a day I will cherish forever. Thanks Adventure Photo Tours, but mainly thanks Art for a great day out.
