Itinerary
Your journey south crosses the Colorado River on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, one of the highest concrete arch bridges in the world, standing nearly 900 feet above the river beside Hoover Dam. From the elevated seating of the coach, keep your camera ready as your guide points out the engineering marvel below. This is a crossing, not a stop, and one of the great moments of the drive.
The route winds through the Mojave, a landscape of ancient Joshua trees, volcanic rock, and wide-open desert plains that shifts by the mile. Your step-on guide brings it to life along the way, from the hardy plants that survive out here to the history written into the terrain, turning the miles between Las Vegas and the canyon into part of the show.
The drive east follows the corridor of America's most famous highway. You'll roll along a stretch of historic Route 66 itself, and for miles the original Mother Road runs visibly alongside the interstate, the same pavement that carried generations of travelers west. Your guide shares the story of the road that defined the American road trip as it unfolds outside your window.
Enter the national park and begin three full hours at the South Rim, including lunch served right at the rim overlooking the canyon (weather permitting).
Arrive inside Grand Canyon National Park and step up to the canyon's most celebrated first look. A short, easy walk along the paved rim path brings you to Mather Point, where the canyon opens up in a sweeping panorama of layered red, gold, and violet rock stretching to the horizon, with views plunging a mile down toward the Colorado River. This is the postcard view, and the moment most travelers describe as the one that stopped them in their tracks.
Continue along the rim to the top of the legendary Bright Angel Trail, the century-old route that switchbacks a vertical mile down toward the Colorado River. From the overlook, watch hikers and mule trains work their way along the switchbacks far below, the single best way to grasp the true scale of the canyon.
Steps from the trailhead, explore the historic heart of the South Rim. Browse for unique souvenirs inside Bright Angel Lodge, a 1930s landmark designed by famed architect Mary Colter, and take in the architecture of the canyon's golden age, when the railroad first brought travelers to the rim.
Your return to Las Vegas crosses the Colorado River once more on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, nearly 900 feet above the water that carved the Grand Canyon itself. Catch a final glimpse of the river gorge in the late-day light as your guide wraps up the story of the Southwest's great waterway, then sit back and relax for the comfortable ride home.
Arrive back on the Las Vegas Strip, where your day concludes with drop-off at Treasure Island, Park MGM, or Excalibur, all centrally located for an easy return to your hotel.

We were told we must register pick up place so we can get pick up time. We did. We got an email confirming 6:20 am pick up. At 6:10 am we were told we didn’t show up on time at 5:20 am and they left without us. Except we had it in writing the pick up time was at 6:10 am. Initially they refused to refund us but eventually we got our cash back. However, the missed trip is just that: missed trip and disappointment.
We were in great hands with our guide/driver Rod. It was a great experience seeing the beautiful Grand Canyon!
Straight up fraud company. They rescheduled our south rim tour from 6:50 to 4:50. We had to get up 2hrs earlier than expected which was already a hassle, but when we arrived there at 4:40, there was no bus. There was another group of 3 waiting for the same bus. We asked every single bus that arrived there if it was grey line but they weren’t. After an hour and 20 minutes of waiting and unanswered phone calls they finally decide to pick up just to tell us the bus arrived and left and they could do nothing about it. When I told them there was 7 of us and 4 security cameras at the Excalibur Rotunda that could vouch for us and prove they were lying they folded and decided to give us a refund. Horrible experience, I don't think these guys even own a bus.
Gray line tours pass me to another tour group, maybe because its not enough number of people joining my chosen tour or that tour is full.. But i appreciate it because we had a great time, our tour guide and driver are amazing. Thank u also to gray line for making sure that we are informed of the changes and for making sure the tour will push thru.
We had wonderful experience with Prince bus driver. He taken care of everything and make our journey joyful and safe. Highly recommend him
Our tour guide was Prince, he was amazing he knew what he was talking about loved that everything was smooth and on time! Definitely going to look into booking with prince as my driver again!
Used Grey lines to visit GrandCanyon South. Bus stops at two places for sight seeing and take pictures. If you are looking for some more adventure, this is not your option. Also, the annoying aspect is the driver (name Prince) and his repeated “orders” for paying tips (atleast 20$ per person) and his repeated “warnings” - not to be that late person - to be in time inside the bus otherwise the bus will leave. Wish Grey Lines pays the drivers enough money so they don’t annoy passengers.
Everything went good and easy. Driver was very clear and right on point with everything. He also was very funny. “Don't be that guy “ We loved our trip.
The tour was amazing! From the transportation bus which was comfortable, the driver for the smooth drive as well as the very energetic and informative APL.DE AP of Las Vegas - Mr. Prince to the stops, it was totally amazing. Its just that time kinda short we need to hurry at every stop. We hope nextime joiners will have longer stops in every spots or at least there is an option to stay there the whole day and just hop on at the end of the day. Thanks!
It was very organized. The guide, Prince, gave good explanations with a nice sense of humour. All stops are well planned. And it was worth to see the Grand Canyon!
Prince and Dominique were awesome drivers and tour guide. They made sure no one would be left behind in every stop. Clear, concise instructions and smooth tour. Exactly what I need.
Our tour guide and driver were amazing. Our tour guide spoke throughout the journey telling everyone fun and knowledgeable facts about Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon!
Tour was well managed by Prince and Dominique. They were clear about the route, destination and the time from the beginning.
Prince was an excellent guide and Dominique a great driver. The tour is worth it. We missed our original pickup, but were able to catch up with them at the next hotel.
The bus trip was VERY long in duration with pick up at my hotel at 6:10 am sharp returning to my hotel at 9:30 pm. Out of the 15 hour travel day, I actually got to see the Grand Canyon for a total of 1-1/2 hours which included an optional 30 minute helicopter ride. I was informed on the day of the trip that I would have to pay an extra $299 for the helicopter ride due to some BS communication mishap with the Maverick Helicopter Tours which I booked back in late August at a set price as part of the package tour. The classic bait & switch scam. Since the helicopter ride was the center piece of my trip I had no choice but to pay the requested extortion fee. My tour bus driver Prince was very knowledgeable and friendly. He kept the tour on a tight schedule. The driver Bendo was an excellent safe driver following all traffic rules. Prince took over some of the driving during the trip. Prince was NOT a safe driver as he was speeding on the way back from the Canyon and even passed another vehicle on double lines. I did not feel safe with Prince driving. Prince made it clear that tipping both he and the driver was expected and that the minimum amount for he and his colleague should be no less than $20 each. This was unnecessary and very crass to say the least. I had every intention of tipping but this begging for tips left me with a very sour taste in my mouth. Based on my overall experience I will never book with Grayline Tours again. I will rent a car and drive to the GC myself. Buyer beware.
It was such a beautiful experience, and Prince was so kind to all of us. His instructions were always clear and given in a kind manner.
Tour guide Prince , Prince, was very good. Provided great information all along the way. However, the time at the visitor center was too long and cut into the actual time in the canyon.
Our tour guide Prince was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Me and my buddy are in wheelchairs and Prince always made sure that we were taken care of and that we got to experience as much of the tour as we could. He would also make jokes along the way to and back from the canyon which made the trip even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves landscapes, wildlife and just being out in nature.
Less than 2 hours at the canyon. Was very long day--almost 14 hours. The driver was excellent but the bus was in very poor condition
If you’re not that familiar with booking bus tours please note that being on time is important!! Unless local traffic prevents it the drivers are on time!! I was expecting a better transportation vehicle, the bus had broken leather pieces on the top of the seats but they were very comfortable. Our guide MIKE was fenomenal, very well familiar with the history and other information and at the same time gave us time to relax and enjoy the views. He has all very well planed and was always very attentive to recognize his passengers and make sure no one got lost or injured by given us certain advises. The meal was very good, with variety and big portions. This trip from Las Vegas Strip is long!! But worth it! If you don’t enjoy the road trips please do the West Rim which tours are also offered by Viator.
We had such a lovely time with Prince and America! They truly took good care of us, and everyone, regardless of the package selected. Prince was really good with all the tour guide information, and made sure to let us know when and where to look for specific points of interest like Hoover Dam. And, they both drove so well I never had a care in the world. I highly recommend this trip overall because the Grand Canyon is breathtaking, and if you get Prince and America consider yourself very lucky!!
Dominique and Prince were amazing hosts! Kept everyone in line. Made it fun and educational. I normally have anxiety on tours like this, but I felt very safe with their driving as well.
Long ride but was worth it. The views were spectacular. Prince was the tour guide and drove 1/3 of the way, fantastic job Prince, thank you. Miss America drove 2/3 of the way, she did a fantastic job.
Mr Prince and Ms America are good and nice. Visiting the Grand Canyon was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking views from the rim left me in awe, with vibrant layers of rock showcasing millions of years of geological history. Hiking down the Bright Angel Trail was challenging yet rewarding, offering stunning perspectives of the canyon's vastness. The sunset painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, creating a magical atmosphere. I appreciated the well-maintained visitor centers and informative rangers who enriched my understanding of the park. Overall, the Grand Canyon is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. I can't wait to return!
Excellent tour, excellent tour guide - Prince, excellent driver - Brendo. Everything went smoothly, Prince was entertaining and informative and kept us on schedule. Brendo got us there and back safely. I would definitely recommend this tour and this team.
This tour is a must! Dominique and Prince were the perfect tour guide and driver duo. Dominique's exceptional driving skills made for a smooth and comfy ride, and got us to each destination safely and on time. Prince kept the tour fun and upbeat with fun facts, tons of historical and local tidbits at each site along with a comedic touch. Our family will definitely be booking another tour!
Great tour with Dominque and Prince. They were very knowledgeable of tour of Grand Canyon. Respected clients and were very entertaining. Memories to last.
Views were amazing, ride was very interactive, and had a fantastic experience with Prince and Domonique as our tour guides. Overall, very fun experience. Would do again
The views were amazing. Breathe taking! Prince and Ms. America were great tour guides. Ms. America driving and Prince as a great host/guide. Would love to go on another tour with them! They made our Grand Canyon experience great!
Ms. America and Prince were excellent tour guides. We appreciated the information share about the different areas a long the way and the curiosity they shared with everyone on the trip.
We had an amazing time. We travel a lot and have been on many tours and our tour guide (Mr. Prince) and the driver (Mrs. America) did an excellent job. We consider this tour to be one of the best we have been on.
Prince, our tour guide and Domonique ,our driver, were awesome. It was my son’s first time going to the Grand Canyon and to his surprise we made a stop at Saligman,AZ on Route 66. He was really happy with that surprise stop! They got us home safe. I’ve been on other bus tours and at those times I felt so worried at the speed the drivers would go. Not with Domonique. Smooth, safe, driving. Thank you both!
Great tour with Prince our tour guide on the mic and Dominique our driver did a fabulous job getting us to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and back to Vegas safely and entertained. They got us there on time and made sure we were in great care. I’d travel with them again anyday.
Very nice Day at Grand Canyon , wondefull view at all the stops. The extra stop on the road 66 was a great surprise very much appreciated. Prince have been a wonderfull host and Dominic managed to get us out of trafic with a great, but bumpy, plan B :)
Brindo was a very good driver and kept us safe for the whole trip and prince was very energetic and a very good speaker and tour guide
Brindo and Prince are a great duo. During the tour, Prince was very timely, kind, and professional. Thank you for driving us there and back to Las Vegas safely and for guiding the tour.
We had Prince as our guide and Domonique as our primary driver. They are the best! They were very nice and entertaining. Was never a dull moment. Very knowledgeable about any where we went. Great history and fun facts. Would highly recommend the tour and duo as the guide/driver.
We were on time getting there and back. We thank Dominique for getting us there and back safely. Our tour guide Prince was very informative and also funny!

Great way to get a first glimpse of the Grand Canyon. Everything was very organized and professional. Prince and Dominique took great care of us. Prince was a lovely and an energetic tour guide who made the whole experience run smoothly! If you are down for a long trip because you want to check off this world wonder, do it this way! Very glad we didn’t drive ourselves in the hot weather.

I highly recommended you go there very great.
The trip was amazing, the views, photos, and memories will last our family a lifetime. We left Las Vegas early in the morning arrived at Grand Canyon before noon. We arrive back in Las Vegas before 8pm. The bus driver (Dominique) was awesome and our tour guide (Prince) was excellent, although at time I felt we were in basic training.
Excellent day, Prince was a very entertaining and informative tour guide, he kept everyone on time and the day went without a hitch. We saw everything we wanted to see and the addition of the imax movie was excellent. Domonique was a great driver And it was a very smooth trip
Dominique kept us safe all the way there and that! Prince was very knowledgeable and communicated well and had a lot of energy!
The tour went amazing with full information and safety and punctuality. Brendol took us safely to the Grand Canyon and Prince took great care of us. Highly appreciate their service and highly recommend this tour for the spectacular one day tour from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon.
Prince and the driver were amazing, very informative and made sure we all knew when we needed to be back. Prince was very thorough and cared about all the people on the bus.
Booked the tour with the helicopter upgrade. It was unfortunate the weather wasn’t the greatest and the ride was cancelled, however we were fully refunded, and still got to experience the beauty of the Canyon (and thankfully, the weather drastically improved). The only criticism I would have is the lunch provided at the iMax theatre. The restaurant was aged, and the food was subpar, and quite chaotic to try and get). Would definitely recommend, and a big thanks to the tour guide who was incredibly informative and made the trip memorable!
