Our pilot and tour guide Michael was just phenomenal, so knowledgeable, very funny, personable and just passionate about what he does. Really enjoyed the River Rafting (Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures) and this was the highlight and get 10/10 from us. Sadly, the helicopter element did not meet our expectations. We were crammed into the helicopter - 6 passengers is too many to allow for comfort and there was restricted vision to fully see the sights (which were amazing). The helicopter had a lot of vibration, the narration from the pilot was o.k. but faint (I did highlight), music being played over headphone was unnecessary and also irritating as it kept glitching. Would have been severely disappointed if we had purely booked the helicopter. The high ratings are down to the rafting experience.

The kayaking was beautiful and suitable for beginners. Andrew was an excellent guide. He was engaging and kept us feeling safe and informed. The emerald cave was not a compelling destination so we would not feel that we had missed anything if it had been missed. But now we can say that we have been there. The helicopter tour was memorable. Views were great. Loved seeing the Grand canyon but also Las Vegas and Hoover dam. The pilot was very safety conscious. Gloria was great at working out operational challenges on her end ensuring that our day was not adversely impacted. And we appreciated Joe's enthusiastic descriptions of places we saw while commuting in the van. Lunch was highly appreciated. We were given a choice of sandwich type in advance and it was delicious. What a great experience and a needed break from the strip.

Convenient hotel pickup, helicopter ride was a great length & facility. A small 10 person group for 2 helicopters and the kayak tour was a good size. Guide DON on the kayak tour was great! He was helpful, chill, & friendly. He even took pictures of everyone and sent you your batch of personal photos later that night. Kayak was about 3 hours and was an easy paddle up river & back. Great scenery and water was so clear! Negative- When I booked I thought we were taking the helicopter to a location then getting shuttled to kayaks then riding helicopter back to strip. Instead it is two very separate tours. You get picked up, go to helicopter business, do that tour, go back to helicopter business, take shuttle to kayak business in boulder city, get into their shuttle to go to river, then kayak, then go back via shuttle to strip.

Be sure to take everything you'll need whether kayaking or rafting (sunscreen, sunshirts, hat, towels if wanted, water bottles). Rafting got us up close and personal to Dam.

Fun day viewing the Hoover Damn, Lake Meed, Grand Canyon and the Vegas Strip by Helicopter. Kayak trip was really well managed and fun.

We had such a fun day visiting the Emerald Cave. Don, our guide, made the trip so fun and informative. He took lots of pix for us all. We got the chance to swim in the river (cold but oh so good), and just generally enjoy the scenery.

The pilot was horrible. He took unexpected nose dives and flipped the helicopter from side to side. We were so sick unable to do the raft. He cost us several hundred dollars. The company did not refund us. He said he has someone to throw up on each trip and I was that one on this trip

Excellent tour, highly recommend! Our day began early with a helicopter ride from Vegas to the grand canyon. While in the air, the pilot pointed out landmarks and gave us information on the history of the area we were flying over. After returning to the a airport we took a van to the colorado river where we met our guide Salah. We kayaked to emerald cave, took photos in the cave, stopped for a tasty lunch that was supplied to us, hiked up to an old guage house, and saw some longhorn sheep before we returned to shore. We were vanned back to our hotel by the helicopter company. Everyone was so friendly and knowledge. We had a wonderful time and plan on booking the full day kayak tour next time we come back to Vegas.

It was forecast to be 42 degrees Celsius the day of our trip! Us being Irish people were worried, but thankfully, there was no need to be. This was by far the highlight of our whole trip and I would recommend this to anyone. It’s nice to get away from the city and learn something and come back home with stories and videos from an absolute amazing once in a lifetime experience. We were picked up from our hotel by an amazing guy called Joe R, he was a wealth of knowledge regarding the area as he has lived here all his life. He was a massive reason that we had such a good time, my husband got sick during the trip and he went above and beyond to make sure he was ok, even offering to drop him home mid trip and buying him a seltzer to sooth his stomach, he is a funny kind gentleman and I wish him the best. Then we went on the helicopter, this was amazing! Our pilot was called Eddie, he was So confident and this immediately put me at ease! He speaks plainly too which I love. He is also a resident and was able to provide so much history and stories on our helicopter ride! He threw in a few surprise attractions and i can now officially say I am no longer afraid of heights. Then we were collected for our kayaking tour with Don. I didn’t think anything could overshadow the helicopter ride, but this came close. We had the best time, he made us feel so comfortable. In 42 degree Celsius heat, we were so glad to be out in the water. Don was also a wealth of knowledge and we were lucky to see a bald eagle and a long horned sheep and a Lizard during our kayaking trip. The emerald cove was amazing and the dip we had the river to celebrate was the highlight . They also provide an amazing lunch. Honestly if your looking for something different, for an 11 hour trip that feels like 10 minutes (time flies when your having fun) then book this trip. You won’t regret it!

This was a trip in a lifetime for us. Wonderful organization and guides. We were picked up & dropped back to our hotel which took the worry away of how to get somewhere. The nearly 90 minutes helicopter ride was truly amazing - flying parallel to the Strip and heading over to the Hoover Dam and the awe inspiring views of the Grand Canyon. We opted for the river raft on the Colorado River from the Dam to our eventual destination down stream (3 hrs later). It was also fantastic. With an extremely knowledgeable guide (Sarah). We swam in the river a couple of times (nice fresh cold water). Overall the combination of both tours was outstanding. The only thing we didn’t get right was that we were on a pontoon boat rather than a raft/tube. In NZ rafting is not on a boat.

Fantastic day! The helicopter took us to see more of the Grand Canyon than a week on the ground could have shown. The kayak trip on the Colorado was strenuous for two of us who are in our 70's, but we did it! Andrew and Jamyca were the absolute best river guides! 10/10!

Overrated. Helicopter is tiny and cramped. You see more Lake Mead than Grand Canyon . Pilot was friendly and helpful

The helicopter tour was incredible and the the pilot was amazing! The pilot was extremely personable and professional all rolled into one. He told us the entire history of the area and the land. He flew down into the Grand Canyon which made the experience and the Canyon views twice as spectacular!

Our tour guide Roman + dad were fantastic. We felt safe and comfortable the whole trip. We had no concerns.

They have to occupy six people or they will cancel your tour. They do set people by body weight. Unfortunately my husband is 6 foot and we were sitting in the backseat behind the passengers where the wall was, and we could not move our knees at all.. we both had severe leg cramps by the time we landed. I was also in the back middle and could not get any pictures. My husband is not wanting to take pictures so to me I probably would never do the experience again however it was nice to see once.. had we have had the seat upfront it would’ve been an amazing experience however, the two shortest people on the flight we’re sitting in the front

Our pilot is both professional and funny. He flew into the canyon and passed by the mountain in a very close distance. Definitely recommend if you want a fast and easy way to admire the Grand Canyon in half of a day.

My wife and went on the helicopter tour and river rafting trip and it was 100% with every dime. The pilot was very informative and entertaining. He was very engaged with everyone and really made sure to give us the best experience we could possibly have. The rafting trip was out of this world. I didn't know we were going to launch near the base of the Hoover Dam, such a wonderful surprise! Our captain/tour guide was absolutely incredible! He took his time down the Colorado River making sure to explain and share history facts about everything around us. The views are beautiful, and the water was like a mirror. We were lucky enough to see a family of Bighorn sheep.... what a sight to see! I would definitely recommend this adventure! It will be one that my Wife and I will never forget!

Well-guided, safe and hugely memorable. Both the helicopter flight pilot/guide (Sam) and raft pilot/guide were excellent - knowledgeable and personable. We had a long wait between the two experiences as our bus driver forgot to collect us! But that didn’t spoil things in the end.

August 2025 --- Friends John Henry "DOC" Holliday , was our driver for 5 Star Helicopters today. Although we flew to the Grand Canyon / experienced rafting / kayaking the Colorado River, and witnessed some amazing scenery, our driver was the most memorable part of our day ! From the moment we met "DOC", we felt as though he was family. We arrived back at the helicopter depot, after our Grand Canyon flight, for our rafting and kayak experience. There stood a neatly dressed gentleman, courteous, and well mannered. He explained that he was our Chauffeur, for our next phase of our day Surprisingly, he introduced himself to us one by one. He also reminded us to watch our step, and wear our seatbelts, as we entered the tour vehicle.... which was thankfully well air conditioned ! Manners, something we rarely experience in 2025 ! The other guests also commented how personable "DOC" was, and how the "best employee" sets the tone for the impression of a company. We learned Las Vegas history, and a great deal more about the desert surrounding us, as we made our way to the Boulder City Lodge, to meet our Raft and Kayak company. "DOC" walked with us into the Kayak office to assure we were checked in promptly.and smoothly. He also stayed with all of the passengers, until both company drivers greeted us. We were all thrilled and blessed to have "DOC" as our return driver to Las Vegas from Willow Beach in Arizona., hours later. Thank you 5 Star for a wonderful tour. Thank you "DOC" from our entire group for being the best ever ! Kudos, The Wild Bunch

5 star helicopters are friendly and professional. Everything was well organised and no negatives here. Rafting on the Colorado river was equally impressive, but was a bit windy.

Go in the morning during the summer speak close to the mic or the pilot can’t hear you yet others can throughout the scratchy noise

I truly memorable experience throughout the day. Started with the helicopter over the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead and the Strip before the river raft along the Colorado River. Our guides Sam (helicopter) and Kyle (raft) were both very knowledgable about the area and pointed out key sights. Would highly recommend doing this tour when in Vegas

The overall tour was great but the ‘emerald cave’ which you have to queue for over an hour to get in to, was so disappointing. To call it a cave is a joke, it’s an alcove at best and the have to queue for such an underwhelming experience was ridiculous, we could have had an hours more kayaking down the river - which our guide told us was way nicer to look at beyond the point we visited.

Amazing g experience ce would highly recommend. The colorado river raft was amazing our tour guide Eugine was hilarious and very knowledgeable. We had opportuboty to swim, an experience i will never forget.

Amazing trip to fly over Las Vegas Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon, understand distance to see all takes time & helicopter is slightly cramped with 6 passengers so can become a bit tedious but once in a live time experience.Kayaking in Grand Canyon with guide Amelia brilliant but was not told swimming was possible in the Colorado river once again a fantastic trip.

The trip was amazing - the organisation was excellent, and the customer service provided by Five Star Helicopters was first class. The Helicopter trip, taking in Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon and ending with the Las Vegas Strip was incredible, and the Rafting down the Colorado was an unforgettable experience also.

The helicopter experience was great, but hoover dam “rafiting” was a disaster in fact is a trip with a engine boat in sun over 3 hours, without roof top! It was a torture!

The helicopter trip was good but the kayaking was even better. Amazing guide and beautiful scenery - great to be able to get in and have a swim on a couple of occasions ignore the heli guide who said it’s too cold just the perfect thing to do when it’s 40 degrees plus. Amazing!

Pilot was great. The staff were great. Cockpit was a little cramped especially with hefty person right next to you but once the flight took off we were all wowed. Totally worth the time and effort.
