Extended Grand Canyon West Rim Air-only Helicopter Tour

We loved our tour - it was last saturday late morning with Marcus!!! This pilot was very professional and knowledgeable! We felt safe, even though my partner Dale is claustrophobic all went well - Dale said his commentary kept him calm..... The views were unbelievable, now I have seen another wonder of our world.... The trip is worth every penny.... I know you will absolutely love this tour , and this company!! Enjoy!!

The pilot, Andrew Erath, made the passengers feel at ease with his explanations and smooth flying. He was informative about the route and what we were seeing during the whole flight and informed the passengers before he made any manoeuvres.

Yes the Grand Canyon is grand, yes the Hoover dam is impressive, and yes, the helicopter pilot was fantastic. But Joe the bus driver was the highlight of our trip to vegas. From the moment he picked us up to the moment he dropped us off he charmed us with his local insights and legends. Joe, I hope you make it to Newcastle and the darts at ally pally.

Coming all the way from Germany, visiting the Grand Canyon via helicopter was the main reason we planned our trip to Las Vegas—and it exceeded every single expectation! ​From start to finish, the experience was seamless, but what made it truly extraordinary was our pilot, Lucas. He was amazing! Over the course of the 90-minute flight, he was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and shared so many fascinating insights about the landscape and history. You could really tell he loves what he does, and his skill as a pilot made us feel completely safe and comfortable the entire time. ​Coming from Europe, it was a significant investment. But I can say without a single doubt: it was worth every single Euro. Flying over the canyon provides views you simply cannot get from the ground, creating a core memory for our family/group that we will talk about for years. ​If you are on the fence about booking a helicopter tour because of the price—do it. And if you get Lucas as your pilot, consider yourself lucky! ​Tip for travelers: If this is on your bucket list, don't hesitate. It is worth every cent!

Eddie the pilot was great. There were five total guests. It was a very interesting tour to see the lake from above and how low the water is. The Grande Canyon is beautiful from the sky! Great trip of a lifetime!

Wow…… such an amazing experience! The view of the west Canyon is beautiful. Even saw the Valley of fire from the air on our way back. Maddog is the best & most fun pilot ever, couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Can’t wait to be able to do this again.

The tour over the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam was beautiful. The pilot Lucas was very informative. Of course it was nice i had the front row seat 😀

MAD DOG !! Our pilot and guide and truly one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met . I couldn’t possibly type enough of how incredible this tour was and it was all Because of him ! If you put on the fence due to price like I was .. book it . It is so worth it !

The actual helicopter trip into the canyon was excellent and having already visited the canyon rim on another occasion would recommend this helicopter tour to anyone who has the opportunity. There was an issue with the booking as we specifically chose this tour to avoid the ranch visit and meal as we have an allergy to horses and various food allergies in the group that we didn’t want to have to deal with. On the evening before the trip (8pm) with no possible chance for us to make other arrangements we were told our trip had been changed to be the one with the ranch stop and having no choice we had to accept. For a trip that cost so much it took the shine of something that could have been exceptional. Therefore score downgraded from very good to good

Booked in Dec 25 for our Jun/Jul holiday. 5 Star contacted me by Whatsapp on our arrival in Vegas on 28th June to check we were in Vegas for our trip on 2nd July. I should have been worried as they put a completely different name on the Whats app. Confirmed we were in Vegas and asked them for pick up details for the trip. I was told these would be provided the afternoon before our trip. They duly contacted me and provided pick up time etc. They did ask if we were flexible on time as 11am flght booked but it may be 1pm. They would confirm the morning of the trip. 5 Star cancelled on the morning of the trip as they could not get 6 people for the trip. Why did you not tell us when we first arrived in Vegas that the trip may not go ahead. It gave us no time to find an alternative provider. Thanks 5 Star Helicopters for ruining the trip of a lifetime on our wedding anniversary. 1 star given but should be none.

We were picked up from our hotel on time, Joseph the driver was great, The safety video clear,our pilot Lucas was fantastic, he was so knowledgeable and funny, as we had first time flyers with us, Lucas put them at ease straight away, I would definitely recommend 5 star helicopter tours to everyone

Our pilot, Marcus was amazing! He offered a fun, narrative guided tour in the air. It was definitely a 5 Star experience flying over Mead Lake, the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.

From weather updates before the flight to final hotel drop-off, this experience was amazing! Bob was very accommodating for our pickup, communication from 5 Star was fantastic, and our pilot was personable, funny, and very professional. We saw the Hoover Dam and went fairly deep into the Grand Canyon. We were shown how small the glass overhang was and how far away it was. If you don’t have a full day to see the Canyon on foot, this was pricier but definitely worth it!

I was scared at first because I am afraid of heights. It didn’t bother me at all. It was magical. I’m sold on seeing our natural wonders via helicopter now. Lucas was an amazing pilot and tour guide. Very informational and calming. Loved this outing!💕

Our pilot was knowledgeable about what we flew over and the area. The support staff was amazing, they took a photo of us with the helicopter before we took off. We got the most amazing pictures and videos. They are called 5 Star for a reason, we give them a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend it we got 5 star treatment the entire time.

Wow. There aren’t many things that top this experience. Flying along and the canyon opening up underneath of you is something that simply takes your breath away. We felt safe, informed, and we got 90 mins of air time. If anyone is on the fence about this, just do it. It was like being on another planet. We got to see parts of the canyon that you’d never get to see from land. Simply amazing.

Overcharged my card $600. Took 2 months to address, despite multiple phone calls with the operator (the operator did not take any steps to address even though they acknowledged the error). Had to file a case for action to be taken.

This was my first time in a helicopter. The pilot was very skilled, a smooth take-off and landing. While the cost is a bit expensive, the views were amazing and the trip was 90 minutes. We flew out to the West rim of the Grand Canyon, with views of the Hoover Dam and Lake Meade. We flew back down the Strip for a unique view of Vegas. The helicopter seats 6 passengers, but it is a bit cramped, with 4 people across the back seat. Overall a great experience, would definitely recommend.

I was not convinced about getting in a helicopter. I am glad I was persuaded to do this once in a lifetime experience. I am even happier with the company we picked to do this with. From start to finish it was a fabulous experience. Our driver was fantastic picking us up at the hotel, he was personable, happy and chatty (just what I needed to be calmed down). When we got to the hanger, the staff were also friendly. Free water’s on offer was a nice touch while we waited to be shown the safety video. Our pilot was friendly and had a great sense of humour. As for the flight… there are no words. All the emotions at once and wow wow wow. So worth the time & money. Must do!! I’m scared of heights and I don’t like being in confined spaces… but this was something else and worth all the fear! If you have any doubts, I promise it’s so worth it! Booking process was straightforward and communication was easy. Seamless experience.

The length of the excursion starts with your pick up from your hotel and ends with your drop off back at hotel (e.g., not the length of helicopter ride)

We were staying at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch when the opportunity to fly with 5 Star was given to us. Kevin, our pilot, was really organised, he met us with a van and took us to the helipad. He was interested in our travels and had good conversation with us. He gave us time to look at the helicopter and take photos. The ride was smooth and the views were absolutely incredible. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and was worth every penny. The flight was a good amount of time and Kevin talked us through the sites and scenery as we went by. After a smooth landing we got some family photos and were then driven back to the ranch. I would 100% recommend you to do this if you get the chance, it was awesome and something I'll never forget.

The over all experience was ok but if you were one of them packed in the back in the middle you saw nothing… packed in so tight in the back couldn’t get any good pictures…. Went over Hoover dam n didn’t hardly see it Was very cold in there as well Couldn’t understand the pilot

Trip of a lifetime, you see the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and City of Las Vegas in a way like no other, strongly recommend. Our pilot Sam was great, entertaining and knowledgeable of the areas we went over.

This was amazing. We are only coming to Vegas once so thought we would splash out on this trip and it was the best thing ever. Start to finish it was well organised. The driver Steven was friendly and on time and the pilot Sam was great and very informative and the 90 minutes flew by 😁! Very unique experience and would recommend

This is a 45 minute ride to the Grand Canyon, 30 minutes inside the Canyon and 45 minutes back to Las Vegas with a flight over the strip. The group size is 6 per helicopter, so our group of 8 was split 6 and 2 between 2 helicopters, based on weight distribution. It was a great flight and we got to see many sights on the way to the canyon and back.

Let me start by saying, 5 Star Helicopters is top notch ! It is worth every dollar I paid. I was on the black Mercedes van with 11 other people, and not a single one of you had the decency or common courtesy, to tip your shuttle driver. He stopped at 5 Casino Hotels from the Las Vegas Strip, to our Downtown destination... told you the history of the town and suggested places that had the best food and how to save some money and still have a wonderful time . . .constantly getting out each stop to open your door and assuring you stayed safe as you exited. He even took a few of you to a hotel that you weren't even staying in, just because you asked. It wouldn't have killed you to say, "Thank You" and hand him a few dollars. If you can't afford a tip, don't go to Las Vegas.
