Unforgettable experience. Easy pickup and drop off from our resort in cat ba. The guide Harry was excellent - so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Small group, yummy lunch (lots of vegetarian options). We were also lucky enough to see Langurs while kayaking! The swimming spot was absolutely stunning, and the trip to the fishing village was super interesting. I’d highly recommend this tour :)

Everything ran smoothly and the sites were worth it. The guide (Tyler) was extremely professional and passionate. It's hard to describe but a guide can really impact the quality of the experience, and Tyler really made the experience worth it.

We went with my partner and the experience was amazing. We were only 25 on the boat so we could talk and ask whatever we wanted and got deep into the vietnamese culture. The tour was exactly as advertised, they really avoid the crowd so you can enjoy a clear sea view. The staff (Hoan, Tom and their family) were very welcoming, Hoan explains everything with passion and love. They made us feel comfortable in every moment, the food was better than most vietnamese restaurant we went, they changed the menu because there were a lot of veggie people in the crowd. The boat is super clean. We loved it, we recommend it 100%.

Our guide was fantastic, but the boat tour we went on was not at all what we booked and others on the boat had to he same concern. After extensively reading through all of the different tours and choosing the one that best met what we wanted to do, it was very disappointing to experience something totally different.

Definetly the best tour choice we made so far in Vietnam. Apart from the great scenary the most remarkable thing about the trip was our guide Tyler!! His energy was impecable, he gave us a ton of information about life and nature in the bay and answered all of our questions, not only about the bay, but about the culture in Vietnam, recommendations and a lot more!! In addition, this company booked a direct bus from our homestay in cat ba to our next destination (Nihn Bihn) with the most confortable bus. As we only were spending the day of the tour in cat ba and our homestay was a little bit far from town we wanted to stay for the rest of the afternoon in town and Tyler was the most helpful soul!! He arranged so we could leave our bags at their place, recommended places to visit and to have dinner and he then booked a taxi for us when we were done! Overall the best guide we’ve had so far! The tour is hosted by Ryan who is passionate and knowledgeable as a local who grew up on the water. A true down to earth experience provided by his family with his uncle driving the boat and aunt preparing a generous meal with seven different dishes. It was a nice trip with a motivated guide! Also, the food was very good with many vegetarian options. The reason why I don't give 5 stars is because the agenda was not really what is stated in the description. It is just the same as all the other companies.

I had such a great experience on this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cát Bà Island. It was much less touristy than I expected — while we did see a few other groups around the kayaking and fishing farm areas, we mostly had the freedom to do our own thing, which made it feel very relaxed and authentic. The group size was small and intimate, which I really appreciated. You could easily chat and get to know the others or just enjoy the scenery quietly on your own. There was also plenty of space on the boat, which made the whole day feel comfortable and unhurried. Our guide, Ryan, was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the culture, and the environment, and he patiently answered all of my many questions. His passion and depth of knowledge were so impressive that even people from other tours started listening in to what he was saying! His English was excellent as well. I’ll admit I was skeptical before booking, but I’m so glad I chose Cát Bà Local — many of the other tours we saw looked crowded and less enjoyable. This one felt genuine, well-organized, and personal. I’d recommend it without hesitation to friends, family, or anyone looking for an authentic and memorable experience on Cát Bà.

Every part of the trip was perfect! We got picked up on our doorstep and the harbour was only a 10 min drive. Our guide Luu was funny and explained everything to us in English. The kayaking was our favourite part, we highly recommend using Cat Ba Local for this trip!

She was extremely helpful and professional, providing extensive information about all the available tour options and ensuring we had everything we needed to make an informed choice. The highlight of our journey was the Ha Long Bay boat tour, expertly guided by Luu. He proved to be a fantastic guide, possessing both a great sense of humour and impressive knowledge of the bay’s history and geological formations. Luu's ability to keep the group engaged while showcasing the stunning scenery was remarkable. The tour itself was spectacular; navigating the emerald waters, kayaking through hidden lagoons, and exploring the massive grottoes was an unforgettable adventure. Thanks to Luu we were the first group kayaking in the area and because of that we were able to see Cat Ba langurs jumping on the trees and cliffs. We highly recommend this company. The combination of Zelia's professional support and Luu's entertaining and educational guiding made this a genuinely memorable travel experience.

We had a fantastic trip through Lan Ha Bay and part of Ha Long Bay. Our group was 16 people. Our guide Luu was very knowledgable and gave us very good insights. The captain knew good and quiet (none to just a few other boats) spots with amazing views, we could take a lot of pictures without any other boats on the pictures :-) The lunch was exceeding our expectations with a wide variety of food, also for vegetarians. We went kayaking, swimming (no other tourists… 😁), visit a fish farm. Big compliment for the tour guide, captain and lady who prepared the wonderful lunch. I highly recommend this tour.

It really was an incredible experience that will stay with us forever. The guide was so friendly and explained a lot. It was varied (kayaking, swimming, visiting fishermen) and the lunch was very tasty! An absolute recommendation.

The day was fully packed with activities. Lots of stops, but also a very relaxed athmosphere. You go to breathtaking places where there is little to none other groups. The guide is very knowledgeable about the topics.

Great trip! The boat, the guide, the route: we were alone most of the day, kayaking was great for nearly 1'5h, we swam in a beautiful place by a cave and a small beach alone and the food was delicious!

This is the best La Han Bay tour!! You can't miss it. You really get the local experience with the expert knowledge of the ship crew, and a major shoutout to our guide Ryan. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and treated us like family. Even though it rained most of the day we still had the best time going to all the secret spots that no other boats went to. Plus the lunch on board was the best meal I had in Cat Ba. Everyone went above and beyond and the service and kindness of the crew only added to the natural beauty of the experience. Thank you!!

We did the full day tour of Lần Ha and Halong Bay with Kayaking in caves and a walk through a cave to a secret beach. Went swimming jumping off the boat and visiting the floating fishing village and the floating village. A great day and well run by Ryan. Thanks Ryan!

Ever had an experience that made you tremble, not because it was horrible but because it touched your very essence? That's how I felt on this trip when seeing the highly endangered Cat Ba languer. It was incredible to see these shy creatures languishing in the trees and to recognise the fragility of life in them. So uplifting to know they are fiercely protected in the UNESCO heritage site. Loved the trip as a whole, the scenery, food, company, adventure. Special thanks to Luu who was the perfect host and shared so much information about this magical place.

We had an amazing cruise with Ryan in Lan Ha Bay: he is a very committed and knowledgeable guide. At 76, I had never kayaked before and thought that I wouldn’t be able to do it. However, Ryan and the other six ‘cruisers’ were all doing it, so I just had to go for it. It was quite magical and a wonderful experience. The two Italians from Rimini saved the day. That is another story and nobody fell in. I felt safe at all times. We all loved our cruise, such a happy and mixed group. The lunch was delicious and plenty of it.Despite the dull weather, it was an amazing trip: the sun did come out in the afternoon which was a bonus: we saw monkeys, wonderful landscapes and seascapes, a very interesting fish farm, all away from the hustle and crowded Ha Long Bay. The two young guys jumped off the side of the boat to swim to a beach. Thank you Ryan for making the day spent with you so memorable!

It was an amazing day! Ha Lan Bay is so beautiful. The boat we were on was great and big! You can enjoy the tour from the deck in the sun. Sometimes it felt like we were the only ones! A tour from Cat ba Local is recommended. From Ha Long is super crowded. Our guide Luu was telling us about the bay and about Cat ba with a lot of passion!

We spend a wonderful day with cat ba local. Big up to our guide Lou who speak a great English and took time to explain us everything. If you want to discover and learn more about Lan Ha Bay this is the right place! The boat is spacious and comfortable. We saw some wild monkeys, visit a fish farm, stop to a beautiful spot to have a swim and done a big kayak tour which was good fun. The food is delicious and there is many different dishes (also vegetarian options) The pick up and drop off to your hotel is realy appreciated. I highly recommend this tour !

Gorgeous views and fascinating insights on both the surrounding area and history from our fabulous guide, Viet. We had a great time kayaking through caves and cooling off in the water between relaxing sightseeing trips. Lunch was an excellent spread of Vietnamese classics. It was great to be in a smaller group for the tour. Highly recommend!

We took the full day Lan Ha Bay tour and we stoped for kayaking for 1.5 h, swimming (we were alone at the beach) and visiting a fish farm. What a wonderful tour!! Luu was a great guide and made everyone feel welcome. He is very knowledgeable and gave out great information. We left promptly and spent an hour or so cruising in Ha Long Bay. Then we went kayaking. Afterwards we had a delicious lunch. We were able to go swimming on a beach, then visited a fish farm. We’ve just spent the day cruising around Lan Ha Bay, Kayaking and Swimming with Luu, the incredible guide from Cat Ba Local. From picking us up at the hotel and throughout the day, Luu made the experience extra special. He found isolated beaches, a hidden cove through a cave and always had superb knowledge of the area, in perfect English. He looked after our every need and always with a smile.
